Chapter 15
Hi! I have another chapter for you. This one will include all the members of BTS and some JJP and Hyunjin family bonding. It's a bit shorter compared to the others, but I hope you enjoy it. Let's goooooo!
Namjoon and Jimin pace around the room, trying to figure out what Jinyoung and Jaebum's plans are with their son. It's only been a day since they were told about the couple's apparent relation to Hyunjin. Just one day since Hyunjin said all of that. The two are still hurt by his words, but they tried to ignore it. Even if Hyunjin doesn't see them as his actual parents, he will always be their son. They will always do everything in their power to protect him. And that's what they need to do now. "Will you two stop that?" Yoongi grumbles, "It's stressing me out seeing you walk back and forth like that." Namjoon and Jimin look at their friend, but chose to ignore him, continuing to move around the room anxiously. Yoongi rolls his eyes as he flips through the Manila folder filled with paper that his friends handed him. "Why would they tell him they're his uncles?" Namjoon asks.
Jungkook shrugs from where he sits on the windowsill, "Maybe, they actually are." The boy has a packet of papers in his hands, creased around the edges from the way he handles it. "No way," Jimin says, "It doesn't make sense."
"Why not?" Hoseok asks, his eyes not moving from the computer screen where he works diligently. The five gangsters have all gathered to try to piece together this mystery. They haven't gotten very far, coming up with dead ends after dead ends. "Cause, Jinyoung's never had a sister," Namjoon says, "And what are the chances that their nephew is my son?"
"His sister may not be involved in his gang life. That could be why he never mentioned her," Jungkook suggests, "You do the same thing with TaeTae hyung..." Namjoon huffs, still not thinking that it could be possible for Hyunjin to be related to the couple. Jungkook glances at Yoongi, who shakes his head. He knows his friend. He doesn't want to accept the possibility that Jinyoung and Jaebum could be his son's uncles. He knows what the couple has done. They aren't good people, but that doesn't mean that everything they say is a lie. He doesn't believe a hundred percent that they actually are the kid's family, but there's a chance. Yoongi sighs, "There's such a thing as coincidences. It could be possible."
"Not with them," Jimin states. The room falls silent except for the loud clicks coming from Hoseok's fingers slapping at the keyboard. "I've got nothing," Hoseok says, "Nothing saying that what Jinyoung and Jaebum claim is a lie."
"That also means that you have nothing claiming it's the truth either," Namjoon huffs.
Jungkook sighs, "You guys keep shooting down the idea of them being Hyunjin's uncles. I get why you're so against it, but shouldn't you at least consider they're telling the truth?" Namjoon and Jimin share a look, before turning to glare at their friends. "No," Jimin says in a firm tone.
"Keep looking," Namjoon says before pacing again. The other three flash each other exasperated looks before going back to searching for something to prove that it's all a lie.

Hyunjin sighs as he taps his foot on the light pole. He had texted Jinyoung and Jaebum, asking if they would want to get a bite to eat with him and they had agreed. He had shown up early, anxious and second guessing his decision. His parents' fears play in his mind and he can't help, but feel like maybe he should've listened to them. Hyunjin shakes his head, replaying the words he said the last time he spoke. The guilt of his words still eats at him, but he still can't bring himself to not meet up with Jinyoung and Jaebum. He has questions and he knows he will only get answers if he talks to the couple. He needs to find out if they really are who they claim to be. Or if they really are just bad gangsters who have it out for him. Hyunjin lets out a shaky breath, a bit nervous to be speaking to the couple again. It's different this time, now that he knows who they are. Who they may be. This meeting is just to confirm that they're telling the truth. Don't get too ahead of yourself Hyunjin, the boy scolds himself. They may not be who you think. "Hyunjin!" Jinyoung calls out from across the street. Hyunjin looks up and smiles as he sees the couple approaching him. The boy watches the couple as they cross the street, not sensing anything off about them. Maybe, they really are his uncles. "I'm so hungry," Jaebum groans as the couple comes to stand right in front of Hyunjin.
Jinyoung sighs, "He's been complaining the entire way here. Yah, Im Jaebum! Say hello to your nephew." Jaebum waves and smiles before his stomach growls loudly. Jinyoung sighs again and Jaebum flashes him a sheepish look. Hyunjin giggles, "Let's go inside and eat." Jinyoung nods and moves to the door, opening it for the other two. Once inside, the three are seated by the window. They order their food pretty fast, the menu not having that many options and the three already knowing what they wished to eat. "Hyunjin," Jinyoung says, reaching into his pocket and taking out his phone. The man unlocks it and taps on the screen, "I realized that you probably would be a bit suspicious that we aren't actually your uncles. I mean I would be if a random couple came up to me and said they were my family." He turns his phone around and shows Hyunjin the screen. The boy's eyes widen as he sees the picture on it. It's a picture of a younger Jaebum, no piercings and shorter hair, holding a small bundle in his arms. The man has a flustered expression on his face and Hyunjin grins when he sees the red face of a shrieking baby. "Is this me?" Hyunjin asks.
Jinyoung nods and passes the phone to the boy, "As you can see, Jaebummie isn't that good with kids." Jaebum huffs as he uses his straw to stir the ice cubes in his soda. Hyunjin giggles and looks down at the picture of baby him in his uncle's arms. He stares at it for a while longer before swiping at the screen. The next photo is clearer and it shows the back of a kid, who is walking unsteadily towards Jinyoung. The man has a wide smile on his face and his arms are spread wide. "That's the first time you walked," Jinyoung says, "Noona was always a bit bitter that you walked to me instead of towards her." Hyunjin hums, staring at the photo, trying to dissect it. It's a normal photo. Nothing strange about it at all. There's no way it's been photo-shopped either, it looks real. All of these pictures seem to prove that the couple in front of them are his uncles. There's no other way for them to have these photographs if they weren't a part of his past. Hyunjin swipes the screen again and gapes as he recognizes the boy in the photo right away. It's a picture of himself when he was younger. He stands in a nice suit and a blue bow-tie in front of a large Christmas tree with bright lights. He looks just like he did when his parents found him. He's seen pictures of himself at this age around his house. There's no doubt about it. He had wondered if the boy in the photo could have been someone else, but this photo shoots down that idea. That boy is definitely him. And these men are without a doubt his uncles. "That's the last photo we have of you before the accident," Jinyoung murmurs in a sad tone, "If we had known we would lose you like that, we would've taken a billion more photos..." Jaebum sighs and scoots his seat closer to Jinyoung, wrapping a comforting arm around his partner. Jinyoung leans into his grasp, lowering his head and sniffling a little. Hyunjin's shoulders slowly lower and he slowly relaxes. His suspicions about the couple slowly fading away. These pictures prove it. These two men are his uncles. His family. The boy places the phone back in the table and says in a cheery tone, "Don't be sad, uncle. You found me and I'm not going to go anywhere. We can take a bunch of photos now, so don't cry. Okay?" Jinyoung slowly lifts his head up, his eyes a tad bit watery. Hyunjin flashes the man a bright smile. Jinyoung stares at the boy for a second before his own lips slowly curl up. "Why don't we take a picture now?" Jaebum says, grabbing the phone and going to the camera. The other two nod and shift around so they can properly get in the shot. The three pose and put on wide smiles as Jaebum clicks the red button, taking the photo. The man slowly lowers his arm and proceeds to click on the screen. Jaebum nods his head as he looks at the screen. He turns it around to show his nephew, who grins at the photo. Hyunjin feels his chest warm, it's his first ever photo with his uncles. Jinyoung takes the phone from his partner and grins, "Perfect." Just then, their waitress returns with appetizers in her hands. The uncles and nephew fall into easy conversation, catching up quickly on the years they've spent apart. The family is so enraptured in their conversation, they don't notice a blond-haired boy sitting a couple feet away. He eyes them warily, wondering why he's even here and praying that the couple don't do anything to the pretty boy across from them.
