Chapter 1
Hello! Welcome to my newest story. I'm so excited to start this journey with all of you. Before we get started, this is a fanfiction and none of the events in here are real. This is for entertainment purposes only, so please take it all with a grain of salt. This story has ships in it, so please be respectful about them especially if your OTP isn't the main one. I hope that you all have fun on this journey with me. I can't wait to see where this story goes. Let's get into chapter 1.
Our lives are pathways. Roads. Streets. All with its turns and curves. We walk along them with no idea where we're going. Life has no GPS. We face the crossroads head on and hopefully make it pass them. One road always leads to another. One path is just the beginning of a new story. Our paths, our lives. They are connected. Sometimes as we make our way along our paths we encounter each other. Our paths converge and it is then we decide if we turn the same way or not. Our entire lives, we move along our own paths, but sometimes others enter and some leave. But, some stay. And you journey together. That's how life is. That's the way it was for Namjoon and for Jimin. Namjoon's life was interesting. He was never alone. Constantly surrounded by people that wished to be his friend due to his parents name and fortune. People who took his picture even when he wasn't posing. Yet, he always felt alone. As his parents pushed him to be something he is not, he journeyed farther and got lost. Namjoon, tired of playing his parent's game, fled without a clue of where he would go. His path diverged to a small biker gang, whose leader took him in without a second thought. Namjoon, although an outsider, showed nothing but grit. He powered through and he found his path once more. His family was his gang. His home was by their side. As time passed, he gained respect amongst his gang and began to lead them all. That is when he encountered Jimin. Jimin went on his own path as well. His was not difficult. His was filled with love, but led to despair. It ended on a road his high school year where he was the only one to move from it. Although he left that road that night, he never really did. He was stranded. He was guided out by another gang, whose leader saw himself in the teen. Jimin struggled as well, not used to this life. But as time passed and with the guidance of a warm-hearted gangster, he came to be the best there was. He rose just as Namjoon had and his path led straight to the elder. It was interesting, the way their paths collided. Almost like in those seconds, the world knew something special was going to happen. The second they met things would not be the same. There was a connection that no one seemed to understand from the get go, but they didn't see anything wrong with it. No one was surprised when the leaders united the gangs. Creating Moonlight. From then on, the road was straight as could be. The gang rose in strength and became one of the most respected ones in the country. People feared them and were intrigued by them. Especially since the leaders were anonymous. Jimin and Namjoon flourished. The roads lit up and the way to go was as clear as could be. Whether it be in gang life, where they led with compassion and strength. Or in real life, where their famous faces and respected status hid them from the suspicion of being gang leaders. And although their path was hard to start, it became easier with time. It isn't that way for everyone though. Even if you encounter those with a straight road, it doesn't make yours the same. That's how it went for Hyunjin. His life was never easy. It was littered with road bumps. Twisted and never ending. Fated with conflict. His life was destined to be a collision course. Nothing would change that. Not even if he was brought into the roads of Namjoon and Jimin.

Namjoon sighs as one of his guys stutters over the comms. "S-sir, p-please h-hurry," One of their youngest members says before ending the connection. The gang leader runs a hand through his hair and shakes his head. "Why did we send that kid out there?" Namjoon mutters under his breath.
"He's not a kid," Jimin says walking up and standing beside him, "He's the same age you were when you became the leader."
"That's different," Namjoon says.
Jimin sighs, "No, it's not. Besides, you couldn't keep him cooped inside training forever. He knows what he's doing. Hell, I bet when we get over there, he's already taken down the men giving them issues about the drop."
"I know," Namjoon frowns, "He does have Kook with him, so nothing bad should happen? Right?" Jimin reaches towards Namjoon's pocket, where his glasses hang. He takes them out and extends the legs. He slips the glasses onto the taller man's head and smiles. He places his hand on the other's cheeks and lets his fingers run along his skin. "Exactly, so stop worrying so much. You act so much like a father sometimes, Joon," Jimin says.
Namjoon scoffs, "Imagine me being a father."
"I could see it. It would be kinda fun to have a kid running around," Jimin laments with a glint look in his eye.
Namjoon looks to the other with a suspicious gaze, "Jimin...."
"What?" Jimin questions innocently.
"That look. I know that look," Namjoon says warily.
Jimin smiles, "You're thinking too much. Come on, we have to go help our guys." The gang leader turns and jogs over to his bike. He looks back at Namjoon, who still has a look of suspicion upon his face. Jimin swings his leg over his bike and glances at Namjoon, "Yah, Kim Namjoon! Stop standing there like an idiot! No more kisses for a month!"
"Wait, what!" Namjoon exclaims before walking over to his own bike, which is right beside Jimin's. The taller sits on his own motorcycle and looks over at his lover. "You didn't mean that, right?" Namjoon asks, "I need kisses!" Jimin shrugs and revs up his bike before taking off down the street. Namjoon huffs, but follows after the smaller man. The two ride side by side down the street and towards the docks. As they get closer, they can hear gunfire. Namjoon and Jimin exchange looks before speeding up. The two pull into the docks and park their bikes behind a large cargo. They get off and start jogging over to the commotion. Namjoon and Jimin watch as their own men face off against the gangsters that they should be doing business with. They all hide behind cargo as they fire their guns at one another. Jimin can make out Jungkook, who has a small smirk on his face as he fires his gun and hears yelps of surprise from the other group. The boy who called for help is beside him with a petrified look on his face. "This is what happens when we let Jungkook lead missions. He's too quick to bring out the guns," Namjoon says.
"Well, on the bright side, at least no one's hurt," Jimin says.
"Yeah, that would've been a huge mess if someone were to be injured. Let's put a stop to this before something bad does happen," Namjoon replies. Jimin nods and reaches into his pocket. The young man takes out a flare gun and raises it above his head. He doesn't hesitate to fire it as the loud noise and color alert both sides. They all stare at the two men that have arrived on the scene. Jungkook's eyes widen and he instantly slips his gun into his pocket. He gestures for the other men to do the same and he looks to the two leaders with a sheepish expression on his face. The men from the other gang hide their weapons as well, recognizing Namjoon and Jimin as the head gangsters. "What's happening here?" Namjoon exclaims.
"Sir, they refuse to give us the weapons," Jungkook states. The men from the other gang look to the floor and avoid the looks of the heads. Jimin looks to the men and frowns, "Why is that? I had a clear conversation with Taemin yesterday. You are to give us the weapons and we give you the cure for one of your sick men. Has something changed since then? Because we are not in desperate need of those weapons, but I know for sure that Key-ssi needs this antidote."
"We were told by our leader that we cannot do this transaction tonight," One of the men reply, "Something else is happening and he does not want any of us to be caught in this mess. We were supposed to return after telling you this, but he started shooting at us before we could explain." Jungkook scoffs and crosses his arms, he did what he had to. They weren't giving what had been agreed upon, it's not his fault. "What does Taemin know about that we don't? What is this something else?" Namjoon questions, "What is that supposed to me-," Before the man can finish his sentence, there is a loud boom and fire shoots into the air a little less than a street away. The gangsters all exchange glances with one another, not understanding what that was. "You, go scout it out and return," Jimin commands one of the men. The guy nods before taking off. Taemin's men shift uncomfortably, not knowing what they should do. "Is that what Taemin was talking about?" Namjoon asks, "That explosion."
"W-we do not know, sir," The man states, "He just told us to not be near this area." Namjoon and Jimin share a look with one another. Something is off about this whole situation. "Tell Taemin to expect a call from me later today," Jimin says, "Go." The men nod their heads before rushing over to their vehicles and driving off. The other men look to their heads, awaiting for them to give instructions. Jimin massages his temple for a second before looking right at the young leader of this mission, "Really, Kook, does it kill you to find out the whole story before starting anything?!"
"I...um...I'm sorry, hyung," Jungkook says with his head hung low.
"You should be," Jimin says with a huff.
"Sirs!" The man exclaims as he comes rushing back. His hair sticks to his forehead and he breathes heavily. "What did you see?" Namjoon asks.
"A car crash, sir," The man states, "A really bad car crash." Suddenly, the sounds of sirens can be heard approaching. Jimin and Namjoon's eyes widen before they gesture for the men to hide behind one of the lifts on the docks. "Do you think that's what Taemin was worried about?" Jimin mutters, "Cops? They are close and they could've found out about us and what we were doing."
"If that's what it was, how did he know about the crash? Was it planned by another one of the gangs?" Namjoon questions. Jimin frowns and shrugs, not knowing what to think. As the sounds of the police sirens fade into the distance, Namjoon and Jimin tell their men to head home. They can't risk getting caught. The leaders wait until all their men have left before heading back to their own vehicles. The two are about to leave when Jimin's phone buzzes. The young man sits up and takes his phone from his pocket. "Taemin texted me," Jimin says, "It was because of the crash. It was planned by Jinyoung and Jaebum."
"Jinyoung and Jaebum? Why would they plan a crash? You don't think they're looking for..." Namjoon says.
Jimin shakes his head, "They gave that up. You know that."
"So, what? A random assassination?" Namjoon questions.
Jimin shrugs, "As long as they didn't overstep, it isn't our business." Namjoon nods and gestures for them to go. The two pull out of the docks together and head down the street. They move slowly past the accident and take a turn to the right. It would take longer to get back, but they would rather spend more time on the road then risk being caught by the police. As they pass down the street, Jimin comes to a stop suddenly. Namjoon doesn't notice right away and keeps moving. He's halfway down the street when he notices his partner isn't by his side. The young man's brow furrows, wondering where Jimin could've gone. He turns his bike around and heads back down the road he came from. He comes to a stop when he sees Jimin's bike right at the entrance of an alleyway. "Jimin?" Namjoon says loudly, "What are you doing?" The man in question doesn't answer, worrying Namjoon. "Jimin!" Namjoon calls out again, walking deeper down the alley, "You can't not answer me! Jimin!" Namjoon frowns as he spots the outline of his lover's body. He takes another step forward and his eyes widen as his eyes fall onto Jimin who holds a small boy close to him. "J-Jimin?" Namjoon says in shock, "Who is that?"
"I don't know, but he's injured. He needs help. Call Jin hyung," Jimin says, his eyes not moving from the young boy. The child's body is limp and his hair is plastered to his forehead. He has blood trailing down the side of his face and other gashes along his arms. Namjoon looks over the boy for a second before reaching into his pocket for his phone. Once he receives the call, Jin alerts the other gangsters, who send a car and other men to assist the leaders. They bring the young boy to their hideout, where he is treated right away by the gang's resident doctor. Namjoon and Jimin don't leave the young boy's side, finding themselves responsible for the young child. The leaders request for their men to do research and find all they can about this boy. Hours pass and the boy doesn't awaken. Whatever had happened to him was severe. The child had head trauma, coupled with two broken ribs and cuts covering his limbs. Jin did the best he could, but the boy still remained fast asleep. The injury to his head kept him in his coma. As the hours passed, the gangsters returned with nothing about the young boy. Namjoon and Jimin looked to the child with worry. How could something like this happen to a mere child? A seven year old boy, who should have no worries other than how long does he get to play outside. Time passes and Jimin and Namjoon nod off, deciding to stick by the child's bedside throughout the night. The next day the couple are met with the wide, confused eyes of the child. "Hi," Jimin says in a quiet tone.
"H-hello, mister," The boy murmurs.
Namjoon looks at the boy with worry, "Do you feel okay?"
"M-my head hurts a little," The boy says.
"Hm...do you remember anything that happened last night," Jimin asks. The boy shakes his head. "Do you remember your name?" Namjoon questions.
The boy nods, "Hyunjin."
"Hyunjin? What about your last name?" Namjoon asks, "Family?"
"I-I don't know," Hyunjin stutters. Jimin sighs and scoots closer to the boy. He takes his hand into his own and gently squeezes, "It's okay." Hyunjin looks to the gang leader for a second before slipping his hands out of Jimin's grasp. Jimin pulls his hands away and nods, "I'm Jimin and this is Namjoon. We found you in an alley last night. Don't worry, okay? We'll keep you safe." Hyunjin doesn't answer, but looks up to the two with wide eyes. Jimin smiles and stands up from his seat. He walks towards the door and gestures for Namjoon to follow. Once outside, Jimin speaks, "I want to take him in."
"What?" Namjoon says, "Jimin, are you nuts? This could be someone's kid. We can't just take him home with us."
"Our men are the best at what they do. They couldn't find anything. Hyunjin doesn't remember his family either. If we call the cops, they'll just throw him into an orphanage. I can't just give him to an orphanage, Joon. I can't abandon him," Jimin says, "We have to take him in." Namjoon bites his lower lip and looks to Jimin with skepticism. Jimin looks back at the older with pleading eyes and a look that could kill. It doesn't take long for Namjoon to crumple. "Fine. We'll take in Hyunjin. You really can't look at me like that anymore. I give you whatever you want when you look at me like that," Namjoon huffs.
"That's the point," Jimin says with a smile, "You're going to be a great dad, Joonie."
Namjoon sighs, "I hope Hyunjin feels the same way." The two peek into the room, where the young boy looks around the room he is in with curiosity.
