Training Day? Que nervous laughter
Underlined is Japanese in this chapter unless I just flat out write it in Japanese
It's been three days since you appeared in this new world. Three days since you gained a quirk and had to find a new home, and three days since you've been with this... odd group of people. You're doing surprisingly well so far, as the boss of this small organization was able to make you an ID and help you get a part time job.
"Are you sure you don't want to apply to U.A in ten months? It might be a good idea if you already know what happens when." Suzuki throws his arms over his head to stretch as he sits cross legged against your bed, and you narrow your eyes as you repeat the words Takahashi had told you.
"No, because if I get in, I might screw up the timeline and mess things up." Pulling your hair out of it's ponytail, you yawn and throw yourself onto the floor next to the brown-haired male. "Besides, everyone would be speaking Japanese and I wouldn't understand a word they say."
With a shrug, your fellow trainee pulls out his schoolwork, and gets started on his math homework. "At least math is pretty much the same in every language though right?" Alpha Percival floats down from your nightstand table where your other two bakugan are resting, to sit on your shoulder and watch silently as you interact with the boy.
You hadn't applied for any schools, instead, you stayed with the group of people that has been helping you out, and had gotten a job at the café they run to make some money for yourself. After getting over the initial shock of being in a different universe, you had been given the choice of sticking with this group of Underground heroes and their kids, or, letting them take you to the police and having them put you in an orphanage. You, of course didn't want to live with anyone other then your own birth parents, so you were quickly convinced to stay with the small group.
"Oi gaki! Suzuki-sama is looking for you." Kagari pokes his head into the room, Saito not far behind. Beside you, Suzuki groans before getting back up to his feet and heading towards the door with his school books.
"See you later then L/n!" The wolfish boy's English had improved greatly over the past two months of you being there, as he spent the most time with you, and his father has been nothing but supportive of his way of learning so far. Especially now that it's improving his grades in English class.
You're left with Saito, as Kagari is quick to go to his own room to get started on his own homework. The soft spoken boy takes a moment to work up his nerves before entering your room after you beckon him in, and he carefully kneels next to you. Settling comfortably on his legs as he waits for whatever it is you wanted to say to him. You can tell his nervous straight away, by the subtle twitch of his fingers over few seconds, so you quickly get straight to the point. Your Japanese lessons this week were supposed to be with Takahashi, but the serious man had a meeting today, so he told you to ask his trainee. Saito Benjiro.
The next hour is spend munching on strawberry pocky as you're taught by the quiet boy, and you can't help but relax as he starts testing you on honorifics. Choosing to stay with this group you decided, was the best thing you could have done.

A
nother two months have passed, and you're now decently good at Japanese. Suzuki now insists that you refer to him by his first name, Daichi, as long as he can call you by yours, and you've managed to fully gain the trust of the nervous Saito. Kagari Kaito is still just as curt with you, but he's a little less closed off. There have been a few times where you've helped each other out, and now he seems to no longer distrust you. Although you might just be imagining that.
"Physical training is in an hour. You're joining today L/n." The curt words from Sasaki-sama behind your bedroom door nearly make you fall off your bed in your haste to get up.
"What?!" Stumbling around your room, you stub your toe twice on your bed before finally managing to get everything you need for your morning shower, and an outfit for your first training session. "How do I train my quirk if my quirk is bringing things to life? Why am I even training if I'm not going to a hero school?" Your mind is flooded with theories and concerns as you leave the room, leaving your three confused bakugan sitting on your nightstand table as they watch you depart.
"Should we have followed her?"
By the time you're ready for training, Kaito, Benjiro and Daichi are already in the large room. The three boys have been training for much longer then you have, so they already know what to do while waiting for their mentors. Kaito is aggressively doing pushups and ranting about a new video game beside Benjiro, who is doing sit-ups while listening to his friend's rant with closed eyes.
Daichi is taking his sweet time running laps while listening to his music through earbuds, and suddenly you wish you had bought earbuds last week when you had the chance.
"Y/n! Hey, you joining today?" The wolfish boy comes to a stop beside you as you stand in front of the doors, and you can see Kaito briefly look over. On your shoulder, Alpha Percival is scanning the room. The ceiling is quite high up, suitable for people with quirks that allow them to fly, and he's almost certain that he could fit in the room when transformed.
"Yeah. Sasaki-sama told me to get ready awhile ago. What should I even start with?"
You're wearing a thick strapped, grey tank top, with black leggings, and a small customized bag is slung over your shoulder. The front three pockets containing two of your partners while your water bottle and a few other miscellaneous items sit in the main pouch.
"Sweet! You should run some laps with me to warm up and then I can show you through some other exercises until my father gets here."
Following his suggestion, you set your bag down next to Daichi's stuff near the door, and Percival flies down to sit on top of it. Turning back to your friend, you narrow your eyes, and roll back your shoulders.
"This is gonna be fine. I've got this!"
Man, were you ever wrong. By the end of the first lap, you're sweating like you just ran a marathon and gasping for breath like a fish out of water.
"Anata nara dekiru!" Daichi encourages you a couple steps ahead as you start your second lap, and you resist the urge to stick out your toungue at him due to the knowledge that you'd probably end up biting it.
The second you finish your second lap, you collapse onto the floor. No longer caring if one of the pro heros walk in and see you flopped on the floor. "End me now I beg of you." Looking up at Daichi, the brunet snickers, holding back his laughter to the best of his abilities as he looks over ands sees his father entering the room.
"Father!" Daichi immediately snaps to attention, and a couple feet away, Kaito and Benjiro both hop up to their feet as well.
"Are you all ready to begin?"
Training with the three boys, you decide, is absolute hell. Every ten minutes, you have to switch partners, as you're starting out with just sparring. Paired up with Kaito first, you half expected him to go easy on you, as this would be your first lesson. But the icy-eyed teen wipes the floor with you within the first thirty seconds. No matter how many different things you tried, and how many times Suzuki-sama tried to teach you proper stances and ways to block hits, you still manage to be knocked down every time. Kaito is loving the easy fights, although a bit annoyed because it's too easy.
Eventually, after the first switch, you're paired up with Benjiro, who does try to help you out a bit more, and actually manages to teach you a few ways to block. By the time you're switched again to finally pair up with Daichi, you're sore all over from hitting the mats so many times, and more tired then you've been in a long time.
Training ends when Suzuki-sama gets a call from Takahashi, and all four of you hit the floor one final time.
"You really do suck at fighting. I mean I thought Benjiro was bad at first when he started, but you're making him look like a pro." Kaito tosses you your water bottle from your bag, and you flush in embarrassment as Daichi laughs while nodding in agreement.
"This was her first time. She's new at this." Benjiro tries to stick up for you, and Kaito sighs before shrugging.
"Whatever. You should find me sometime and I'll give you a few lessons." Kaito's suggestion makes you nod frantically, and all three of them laugh at your enthusiasm.
The four of you are interrupted when Daichi's phone buzzes with a notification. He's the first to leave, muttering something about a school project. Minutes later, Kaito and Benjiro are rolling off their backs and onto their feet. The two of them have a class meetup at the mall, and after asking you if you want to join them, which you decline in favor of having the chance to just laze around at home, they leave to shower.
For your first training session, it went surprisingly well.
