"Surprise" my mom shouted clapping her hands together and jumping up and down.

Well that was the understatement of the year.

I was frozen just staring at Nathan. Why did he have to be here now on the best night of my life. everything was going so smoothly with Dan. OMG Dan!

He was still standing awkwardly holding onto my wrist where he had caught me earlier. He had this look of jealousy and disgust on this face while he eyes Nathan up and down in hate. This couldn't end well.

"Well Abigail say hi" my mom said breaking the growing tension between everyone.

"Oh...uh...Hi Nathan" I stuttered. this was too awkward and I just wanted to be swallowed up by the ground and never see the light ever again. okay a bit dramatic but this is how I literally feel.

"You haven't seen your own boyfriend in 2 months and all you say is hi" Nathan chuckled pulling on my arm and giving me a hug causing Dan to let go of my wrist. I wrapped my arms around his waist and felt him place a kiss on my forehead.

I smelled his sweet cologne and sighed , it reminded me of home and my friends and just my previous life overall and I was sad. I missed my home back in America but if we haven't moved I would have never meet Dan, Phil or Emily. My three best, best friends.

Also hugging Nathan got me thinking that Dan was a way better hugger but I pushed that thought to the back of my mind.

"Who's he?" I heard the words vibrating on my head and I instantly tensed up and pulled away expecting for more drama to come.

"I'll leave you to it" my mom said shuffling out of the way. I mouthed thank you to her. sometimes she was literally the best mother in the world.

"Who is he Abby" Nathan stated angrily turning to look me straight in the eye

"He's just a friend Nathan nothing more" I regretted the words as soon as they left my mouth

The look on Dan's face was heartbreaking. his eyes which were always so bright were dull and sad and he looked me right in the eyes showing his annoyance with me.

"Okay sorry" Nathan sighed pulling me into a sighed hug "I just didn't know what to believe and everything sorry" he hugged me closer.

I don't really know if he was hugging me so much because he was sorry or if he wanted to show Dan that I was truly his. and this annoyed me.

"So" Dan finally spoke "I better go Abigail" he spat out my name and turned around to go. I knew he was annoyed that Nathan had ruined his perfect date but it wasn't really my fault.

He started walking down my path and I tried to go after him

"Dan please" I shouted after him but Nathan just pulled me back as Dan got into his car and drove away

"Shhhh Abby just let him go" he said smiling proudly grabbing onto my waist and turning me around to face him.

"No Nathan get off, I need to go and speak to him" I stated. Nathan was annoying me and I'd literally been with him for 5 minutes

"Its funny" Nathan chuckled "He so likes you and he doesn't even try to hide it in front of your own boyfriend"

OMG he was gonna find out about Dan and I. no that can't happen

"What do you mean" I asked trying to play dumb

"He stares at you with lust in his brown eyes and stares at me with hatred" he laughed "its kinda funny because he has no chance with you especially looking like he does, a twat!"

I slapped Nathan's arm "hey don't say that about Dan he's my friend" I stood up for Dan and I was proud of myself .

Nathan's eyes instantly darkened "your standing up for him?" he questioned "are you stupid"

I was offended,my own boyfriend can't call me stupid and I was about to answer when Nathan suddenly shouted at me with realisation.

"OMG you like him?" he shouted "has he tried anything on you Abigail anything" he yelled grabbing onto my shoulders harshly.

I knew what was coming and my bottom lip started to tremble. Nathan got jealous quite a lot and things don't always end up well.

I tried to pull away. if only we were in the house none of this would be happening.

"No Abby" Nathan growled pulling on my wrist harshly making me whimper "tell me" he said quietly looking at me with his eyes blazing with jealousy.

"He's tried nothing Nath nothing" I whimpered tears stating to fill my eyes

"I can tell your lying Abby, just tell me what happened" he shouted in my face while grabbing me chin forcing me to look him straight in the eye.

This was the first time I realised I hated Nathan I hated him for making me feel this way. for hurting me and being overprotective and jealous all the time and my eyes blazed with anger as I looked him right in the eye an spat

"He kissed me and I kissed him back and I actually enjoyed it" I lied

The next thing that happened made me fall to the ground with pain and my cheek blazing with hurt

Nathan had hit me
