Chapter Thirty-One
"What do you want, Cassy?" Rayne hissed at his phone. I watched him from my bed as he walked around my room with his phone to his ear. "Okay. Well you can tell her to wait till after I'm back. You know I'm away right now."
It drove me crazy when his attention wasn't on me for a mere second. I was completely obsessed with him. Not in a creepy way but in a very lovable way. I wanted to hug him and keep him in my arms forever. So when he didn't pay attention to me it bothered me. I know it's bad but I just want to love him every single second of our lives. I've got it bad.
"Yes," he rolled his eyes.
I turned over to watch him as he gazed out the window into the front yard. I smirked as my eyes scanned his back and down to his ass. I really wanted to know how it would be to make love to Rayne. It's something so strange and out of the ordinary but it intrigued me in every way. My thoughts weren't as cluttered as they were in the beginning. So now I wanted to experience everything without fear.
There was something about two men deeply in love that sent my senses on fire. It's passionate and very different from girls. I believe that it's almost better than being straight. Many people won't understand that feeling, because sexuality isn't a choice. Maybe some people develop it very late in their life but it will never be a choice.
Everything about Rayne made my skin feel ice cold, almost incomplete and wanting to feel the warmth of his body against mine. His face was pure perfection, a soul made perfectly in the eyes of God. There is no confusion. I know now.
"Okay, bye." He hung up looking annoyed. He turned around, staring at his phone and dropping it in his pocket. He looked at me with a blank expression.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Just Cassy and her stupid jobs."
"You got another job or something?"
He walked over to the bed and sat at the edge. "Yeah. Her friend is a photographer and wants to use me in her new photo shoot. She saw my pictures and said I looked great for what the photographer had in mind."
"You seem upset by it. You don't want to do it?"
"I do," he responded quickly. "But Cassy is stressing me out with the future deadlines and such. I tell her I can't do everything she offers me because I'm in school and I'm going to be busy with the internships and such."
I nodded, understanding. "Do what you want not what she wants you to do. Managers get really mean even if they are your own family."
He snorted. "I don't care if Cassy gets mean. I get meaner. I'm just worried about the pressure. I don't want to do bad in school."
"Stop worrying so much."
"I can't stop worrying!"
"I can make you forget," I smirked.
He rolled his eyes. "Is that your solution to everything?"
"Yes," I replied quickly.
He smiled, he had no choice. Everything I did made him smile. Which was great for me, it meant he actually liked me. Right?
He laughed quietly. "One day, Jesse."
"Stop torturing me with that smile!"
His smile faded quickly. "There...happy?"
"Sure," I muttered. "So what else did Cassy say?"
He sighed. "She said my mom started talking about me."
"Bad things or..."
He bit his lower lip, sadness building in his eyes. "She didn't say nothing nice. That's all I can say."
"So she's still going on about the stupid shit? She still won't accept you?"
He shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't spoken to her."
"Maybe I should get my mom to talk to her," I suggested.
He snorted. "Do you really think a stranger can change my mom's opinion? The stranger being my boyfriend's mom? I don't think so."
"You never know if you don't try," I sang.
He chuckled. "Oh hush."
"Yes or no?"
"No," he said sharply.
We stayed quiet, just staring at each other's eyes. It wasn't awkward but intense. I wanted to look away and blush but I couldn't. His eyes were captivating, like seeing heaven for the first time. Rayne was definitely an angel from above. Every time I'm around him, I felt like I was floating in zero gravity.
Then suddenly I was pulled back into reality and I grabbed his hand, breaking the eye contact. He looked down as my thumb passed over his knuckles. I sat up, moving closer to him so that I could pull his hand up and kiss it.
I dropped his hand gently and looked up at him again with a serious look. "Let's go."
"Go where?"
"Anywhere."
He nodded slightly. "Okay."
We both got out of the bed and headed down the stairs. Everything was quiet except for the T.V. in the living room. My mom's door was closed, which meant we should all leave her alone to her thoughts.
I opened the front door and closed it without making a sound after we walked out. The garage was closed so I pinched in the security code and stepped back as the doors opened.
"What are we doing?" Rayne asked when I entered the garage.
I pointed at the other side of the garage. "Grab that bike," I told him while I grabbed the one in front of me.
We both pulled them out of the garage and Rayne gazed at me.
I chuckled as I mounted the bike. "Try to keep up and don't get lost."
He quickly got on the bike and waited for me to go. But I leaned closer to him and stole a kiss.
Then I peddled out of the driveway and into the empty streets. I kept looking back to make sure that Rayne was following me. He looked super attractive while he worked those muscles.
I led him down five blocks until I slowed down a little bit so we could just relax. He appeared next to me and I guided my bike as close as I possibly could to him.
"Kiss me," I told him.
He shook his head, grinning. "I don't want to fall down."
I gave him a look. "We're riding at a walking speed. No one is going to fall down."
He grabbed my handle bars - only if they were my other handle bar - and leaned towards me so he could kiss me. I captured his lips in mine and felt the wind brush through us. I parted my lips slightly and let his tongue swarm inside my mouth.
Then he suddenly broke the kiss as he crashed into a trash can. He didn't fall, he only crashed his bike against it. I tried to hold back a laugh and was winning for once.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, stopping my bike and waiting for him to get back on track.
"Embarrassed but still alive," he murmured.
"You sound angry."
"Because I knew something was going to go wrong. It's like I'm psychic or something."
I chuckled. "I like when your accent comes out the strongest."
"I'm glad you like it," he muttered once he was next to me again.
I pouted. "Aw, did you get hurt?"
He looked at me disbelievingly. "Are you making fun of me?"
I blinked. "What? Of course not. I want to know if you got hurt."
"I'm fine."
We went back to riding freely down the quiet streets. I kept an eye Rayne, making sure he wouldn't crash into anything else. Little did he know that I actually knew he was going to hit the trash can. But I won't tell him just in case he beats me up with a bat or the bike.
After a few minutes we reached a small community park that was empty like always. I don't even think kids play here anymore. Everyone grew up. This is a closed neighborhood that hasn't changed for years. We all knew each other at this point.
I climbed off the bike, entering the park through the open gates. I remembered when I used to hang out here with my sister and just go crazy with the other kids who lived on the neighborhood.
"Just put the bike anywhere," I told Rayne as I threw mine aside.
Rayne suddenly ran past me and headed for the swings. He looked like a little kid, so cute and wrong at the same time. I am not a pedo, I am a Raynepedo. I took my time approaching the swings. By the time I reached them he was already seated in one.
"This is where I used to come when I was a kid," I told him as I sat on the swing next to him.
"I haven't been on one for ages."
I got out of my swing and walked behind Rayne. I pressed my hands against his back and pushed him gently.
"I got most of my childhood injuries here," I laughed.
"I don't remember ever getting hurt when I was a kid."
"That's because you're so calm and laid back. You're not crazy like most people."
"You don't want my crazy side to come out. I store it deep inside of me where no one can see it."
"I'll take that as a challenge."
"I'm serious, Jesse. You don't want to make the crazy come out of me. It's not a pleasant thing to see."
"Like when you cried at the party?" I prompted.
He scoffed, looking back to send me a dirty look. "I was intoxicated for your information. And that was not my crazy side. That was just my emotional side."
"Maybe you shouldn't hold back your emotions like that. Or you will become emotionally crazy. Like Justin Bieber's fans."
"Oh wow. Thanks for comparing me to twelve year old fangirls."
I pushed Rayne as hard as I could and ran in front of him so I could see his face.
"So how are you feeling?" I asked him.
"I'm feeling calm."
I grinned. "Like always."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
I shook my head. I didn't even know what I meant half the time. "I don't know. I guess it's hard when you're quiet and I don't know what you're thinking."
"There's nothing going on in my head. And if there was I would tell you." He swung his legs again, gaining speed.
"I wish I could read your mind."
He snorted. "So what are you thinking? Because I'm not the only one that doesn't share much. You're a talker and crazy but you don't say much. If you know what I mean."
I scoffed at his accusation. "I do share things. I tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I remind you everyday that you're beautiful."
He smiled. "Spoken like a true man."
I opened my mouth, ready to say it but his sudden threatening look made me shut my mouth.
"So are you going to do that job when we get back home?"
"It sounds interesting so I might."
"Interesting? How so?"
"The photographer likes dark things. And she wants to dress me up with some really dark things."
I raised a brow. "What kind of dark things?"
"Creepy things."
I frowned. "Can you be more specific?"
"No."
I rolled my eyes. "Well have fun with that."
"You can come if you want."
"I'm not sure if I want to. I really don't want Cassy to offer her open legs again."
Rayne laughed which faded into a really cute giggle. "Cassy is amazing when she isn't being a bitch. She does the most unintentionally hilarious things."
I grinned. "I'll think about it."
"Have you thought about the other thing?" He asked.
"What other thing?"
He looked nervous. "You...moving in...with me..."
"Oh..." I admit that I was still a little afraid to move in with him. I loved him dearly with all my heart and I wanted to spend every single minute of my life with him. But the thought of me moving in with him scared me. I should probably man up, but this situation was serious business. "I'm still thinking about it."
He avoided my eyes and kept swinging. "Okay," he said quietly.
"Don't be upset, please. There is a high chance that I will move in with you. So don't worry."
He nodded his head, still avoiding my eyes.
"Can't you look at me?"
He shook his head.
"Why not?"
"Maybe I'm afraid of seeing the real answer in your eyes, seeing that you would lie and pretend just to make me happy."
I glared at him, walking forward to stop him from swinging. He was going pretty fast so when he saw me walk in front of him he tried to stop but ended up tumbling out of the swing and into my arms.
"Look at me. Look at my eyes. I would never ever lie to you. And I certainly wouldn't pretend and force myself to live with you if I didn't want to."
Rayne suddenly looked into my eyes, a wide smile on his face.
I frowned. "You were just kidding...weren't you?"
"Yes," he sang.
I dropped him like a sack of potatoes and left him there giggling on the ground.
