With her countenance stuck in her phone, a female crossing the street was unaware of the light change. With the latest sound cancelling headphones on, shs was oblivious to the sounds of horns and screeching tires around her.

About a kilometre away, a truck driver set his semi into cruise control while going 70km/h. The obnoxious driver thought that he had full control of the road, that people should watch out for him and not the other way around. Leaning back in his seat, a bling went off peeling his eyes off of the road ahead. The male then unlocked his phone with a wink of an eye and continued to read the message he had recieved. Completely unaware of the red traffic lights approaching.

"And sent." She tapped the little blue button with the word "send" in it, before turning off her phone and looking up.

The driver smiled as a ladybug emoji popped up as the new message that arrived. Him and the person he had been texting had a mutual interest for ladybugs.

A honk of a horn made the driver look to the road. His eyes grew large as he caught sight of the female in his path, no more than four metres away. He smashed his foot upon the breaks, praying that his vehicle would stop. He held his breath tight as the semi skidded closer and closer to the pedestrian.

Her hazel brown eyes widened as her feet froze in place. The grill of a large semi inches away. She shut my eyes as tight as she could. The only sound she could hear was the sound of her rapidly beating heart.

Screeching tires followed by a thump was all that sounded before silence filled the area.

I missed the deadline for the JustWriteIt Bits for May, but I'll post it anyways. It's kinda like a mini PSA for why you shouldn't text and drive or cross the road with your head in your phone.
