Every exhale was white mist
Unfurling in the air like a wreath
Her cheeks rosy with chill
Snow vapor escaped from her teeth

Pink mittens swathed her hands
She greeted winter with mirth
Kissed each dancing snowflake
Falling upon the kind Earth

She smiled and laughed
As she twirled in the snow
A sugar-dainty ballerina
Dancing a surreal show

Making a snow angel shape
Onto the white-frosted ground
Chasing snow butterflies
Leaping and bouncing around

She poked out her tongue
And felt a snowflake's cold prick
She enjoyed it for a second
But it melted away quick

So she scooped up balls of snow
Stacked them up to build a snowman
Gave him a carrot for a nose
Dressed him up in Granny's Afghan

She'd had an exciting time
Playing in the white wonderland
But now she went inside
And enjoyed a cup of cocoa in hand!
