The line went dead.

Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

Jeongin watched Felix, a look of terror on his face. Everything had gone wrong. Black Shag had discovered their facade, which meant they knew they may have been lying about Chan.

SKZ was screwed.

Felix pushed away from his desk and stood up. He took a deep breath and put two hands on it. He could feel a load of stress and worry weighing him down as he leaned against the table.

"What do we do, Yongbok?"

Yongbok. That was his name used only in seriousness. In all seriousness. Jeongin was one of the only members who dared use it, but Felix didn't mind too much—he was working on that—not minding as much.

Felix held the cigar in his tense hand between his stiff thumb and forefinger. The pleasant, hazy feeling was no longer there, so with a huff, he blew a long shaft of smoke from his plump, but dry lips, and jabbed the tobacco stick into an ashtray. He spoke gruffly, his gaze hardened in determination.

"Get the boys, we need to move now."

Chan was aroused rather aggressively by a worried-looking Jisung. "Hyung, you need to get up. We have to go!" In a flutter of daze and bafflement, Chan was hurried out of bed and told to help the seven other boys load things into vans. It was almost nine at night, so around nine hours of sleep. More than Chan usually got, but not enough as of right now.

Jisung was shoving clothes in suitcases. Hyunjin was running back and forth with different sorts of weaponry. Changbin was dismantling what little gym equipment they had and stuffing it into bags. Minho was trying to get a cat into its crate, and Felix and Jeongin were nowhere to be seen.

Chan stood sluggish in the rush of it all, wondering what the hell he was supposed to do to help.

"Felix!" he shouted, leaving the bedroom and looking down the hall.

"Felix!" he shouted again.

Still no answer.

He went into the kitchen and then the lounge. "Lee Yongbok!" he yelled with a hint of sternness.

A blob of faded orange hair popped out from another bedroom's doorframe. "Eh?" Felix said hastily, before disappearing back in. Chan went quickly after him.

"What did you want me to do?" he asked, watching his boyfriend unplug computer monitors and stack them by the door. Jeongin was wiping hard drives and deleting all sorts of data. Chan could see the lines of code vanishing at a record pace.

"Can you start taking these outback to one of the vans?" Felix said, lifting a monitor and placing it in the latter's arms.

"Sure," Chan replied and rushed out of the room.

After a panicked thirty minutes of running around, Chan and the rest were ready to move out. The vans were packed high with things, but a lot had to be left at the house, as it wasn't necessary and they couldn't afford to take it—there was no room.

"Is everyone here?" Hyunjin yelled as he climbed into the driver's seat.

A chorus of yeses was heard, and a head count was done. Both vans had  four members, everyone being accounted for. Felix gave the all-clear, and they headed out.

The ride did not go smoothly. They were moving from the outskirts of East Incheon right into the heart of Seoul, and though it should've been a short drive, moving a shit tonne of equipment while traveling with six grown children was not a delightful experience. Felix could tell Chan was put out. He'd been thrown into this life less than a week ago, and so much was already happening.

It was one long round of sharing insults, making fun of Changbin and Jisung cackling like a witch. Felix could not imagine what it was like in Hyunjin's carpool. Nothing was ever peaceful, but then again, imagine if it had been. Seven dudes murdering people and selling drugs, like the heartless monsters they probably were deep inside. At least, maintaining some sort of family feel and morality took away the underlying thought that if they were ever caught, Korea might finally kill someone on death row.

The flickering streetlights gushed past the windscreen and quickly came to an end as they finally got past Incheon and into the small break between Incheon and Seoul. It had gotten dark quickly, and Felix switched on the van's lights. He could see from the side mirror that Hyunjin had followed suit.

"Where are we going?" Chan asked, leaning forward into the front where his boyfriend and Changbin sat.

"We're gonna find a motel for the night. It's too late to go to the safe house now."

He nodded and leaned back into his seat next to Jisung, who was by now dozing off to sleep.

"Sleep if you want, babe. I doubt what you got earlier was enough. I'll wake you up when we get there." Chan smiled gratefully and, after adjusting his seat belt, placed his head on the headrest and closed his eyes.

After driving for what felt like hours, bright and colourful city lights finally painted the skyline, and Felix could make out the silhouette of Namsan Tower.

He looked around the van's cab. Changbin had finally given up fighting the tiredness and was fast asleep, leaning against the window, soft snores coming from his nose. Jisung had also fallen asleep, head on Chan's shoulder, both out cold. Felix felt a grin cross his face at the sight. It made things so much better—having Chan here.

The ginger pulled into the twenty-four hour motel's carpark, spotting the small office with a dingy light being emitted from its windows. After making sure Hyunjin had managed to follow him in and park his van, Felix jumped out and knocked on the office door. A lazy fellow dragged his feet to the door and opened it with an inert hello. He was ushered inside and asked what was needed.

"Two quad rooms."

He sighed and gave Felix two sets of keys.

"The rooms are right next to each other."

The male took them with a bow and went to get the others.

The rooms were jack-all. Felix didn't know why he expected more. It was a cruddy old motel anyways, nothing special. He threw an overnight bag on one of the beds and groaned.

"Please don't put me with Minho and Jisung, they might do some nasty shit," Seungmin cried waltzing in. Minho rolled his eyes, and Jisung just laughed.

Right, rooms.

"Me, Chan and Minsung in 'ere. The rest next door," Felix said, tossing a key at Jeongin. "Now get out, I'm tired."

"I'm gonna have a shower. Care to join Min?" he raised a teasing eyebrow.

Seungmin fake-gagged. "Yall are fuckin' disgusting!" he exclaimed, before taking the keys from the youngest's hands and slamming the door shut. Jeongin, Changbin and Hyunjin trailed out after him, their eyelids all drooping.

"Goodnight," Felix called out just as the door clicked shut. Chan flopped tiredly onto the bed beside him. "Holy fuck, what a day."

The latter managed a small grin. "Sleep?"

Chan said nothing, instead taking off his shirt and climbing under the white sheets. Felix climbed in and pulled the duvet up to his chin. Flicking the switch, he turned off the only source of light in the room, leaving Minho and Jisung to find their own way to bed in the dark.
