Staring out of the window, Trevor was all lost in his thoughts.
Why did he agree on doing a mission when he felt that bad? Did he seriously think getting away from everything would magically make it better? Well he was wrong there. When the company doesn't fit nothing will help you get better, it just makes everything worse.
Why did every single one of his friends have to use him? Thinking about what he would be doing when he would get back to earth in a few years, would his so called friends still be there and interact with him, or would they ignore him and forget that he actually lived? Knowing how they are and what they did in the past he'd be actually forgotten by them in a week, so why did he worry? Because ... he didn't really know either.
At ground control before the start nobody asked if he was ok. NASA didn't even care either what he did and how he felt, just the profit they could make out of him, as everyone else didn't care for him. How could a society be as fucked up? What could make it even worse? In world where no one wanted him, needed him, or at least one single person cared for him he didn't really want to live. Not one single human being was thinking about him, everyone is just too focused on themselves, too busy caring for themselves, instead of caring for someone else and helping them out so that they help you out as well.
Slowly, whilst his mind was still debating on what to do, his hand reached out for the computer panel build into the side off their space shuttle. Bit by bit his hand got closer to the touchscreen and the one button, which said 'airlock'. The other hand sliding down to his seatbelt, unlocking it so he would be sucked out into space when finally reaching the button.
But suddenly a hand appeared on Trevor's, pulling it further away from the panel. And another one appearing around his waist moving his body closer to his neighbour's. Devon grabbed Trevor's hands laid his head onto Trevor's shoulders and didn't let go of him.
"You know Trevor...", Devon started to say, whilst playing with the fingers of the one he held close. "... that wouldn't have just gotten you killed. The air would be sucked out of this room in less than one second, leaving me about 30 seconds to close the airlock, while fighting not to get drawn out as well. And then finding an air tank to being able to breathe again. That is if I'd not have been able to grab your hand or try to find something I could pull you back in with." A tear appeared, slowly rolling down the corner of his eye, making its ways over his cheeks, besides his mouth, down to his chin and falling onto the others shoulder. "I never told you...", Devon shortly paused in something, which seemed like a stop to organize his thoughts. "... but I couldn't risk losing you. Never since I met you I lived more than two kilometres away, everything else would have broken my heart."
This time Devon really had to force himself not to burst out into tears. He had gotten more and more emotionally unstable, after meeting Trevor. Every single second he wasn't with Trevor he felt more and more lonely. Just holding him close at this moment made him so happy and so sad in one go, because he could hold his love tight once, doing what he always wants to, but at the same time it reminds Devon, that Trevor will never be his, he knows that it will end and in his perspective it will end way too soon, but how could it be otherwise when Devon wished for it to last for eternity.
In a silent whisper Devon once again spoke to Trevor. "I was really happy, when I had you assigned as my roommate at the academy. And I was even happier, when they told me you were the one going on the mission with me. So ple..." his word was broken by a Trevor connecting their lips in a small kiss. Devon was too shocked to react, before Trevor broke their lips apart, splitting what felt indestructible. Trevor snuggled into Devon's side, falling asleep in a tiny bit of a second.
Devon's cheeks started to go light red, when a slight blush formed on them. Asking himself, if Trevor told him, that he loved him, or if he'd just been daydreaming about him again. Well even if it would have been a daydream he didn't want it to end, he wanted to make it last, so trying to make it more comfortable for the other boy, Devon carefully laid Trevor's head down, so he was lying in a more horizontal position.
That boy was too hot for his liking. Trevor snuggled even more onto Devon, whose blush changed to a darker shade of red, as he was trying not to think about, where this boy was laying. Because having him as near to his crotch might have not been a good idea.
Trying to focus on the boy himself, Devon let his eyes trail all along the beautiful body and couldn't look away anymore, when he saw his face. It was like his gaze was being drawn to it, as was his hand apparently, because that magically moved to Trevor's head, stroking his short brown hair.
"I love you, Trevor", Devon whispered more thinking out loud, then actually consciously saying it. It even more surprised Devon, that the sleeping Trevor answered with a "I love you too Devon" in a sleepy voice.
One thing was for sure now, the company Trevor had was better, than any he could have wished for.
