Prolouge: Peter Pan
Sitting on a log, plucking at the grass that stuck under my boot, with the aroma of the fire filling my nose. My back aches, its been too long since my wings have been exalted from my back, replacing it with a tattoo of my darkened wings have been there for too long.
I took off my shirt, the heat was seeping under my skin, my back was revealed, the lashes still sting my body.
The ones Mary gave me.
But seeing my boys, my son's if you will dance around the fire and talk to one another without a care in the world, soothes my mind.
Just a day off of protecting my island as well as my boys. It's the only ounce of relief I have left.
The chants of the Vultures grew louder, too loud. I stood up brushing the ashes off of my pants. I cracked my neck and stretched, it was time to call it a night.
I picked my shirt up from the ground and started walking along the trail behind one of the tree's walking back to my treehouse.
I threw my shirt around my neck holding both sides of my shirt with both hands. The crickets chirped loudly , yet there was still no moon.
I stopped, I sensed someone. The smell was like my own. A scent that seems so familiar but so distant.
I turned around slowly seeing my brother leaning against a tree picking at his nails, "Peter, my boy," Thomas said walking closer to me, "It's been well over 60 years since the last time I saw you."
I scoffed brushing my boot along the dirt on the ground, "Well done lad, you can track time. How's your little slut, Wendy? Still asking about me?"
Tommy flashed closer to me, "Better than your dead girlfriend."
In rage I ran in front of Tommy, I punched him in the face, he grabbed my arm and flipped me over on my back on the ground, "Mary wasn't my girlfriend."
Tommy kneeled over me brushing my hair out of my face, "I know, I know. But, my God Peter. It's been 60 years and you're still moping around like a little bitch, you've lost your touch, old bean."
I felt my eyes change to that dead yellow and my bone's crack in my face. I couldn't fully transform without the moon.
Rage gets the best of me.
I whimpered silently.
It's been a while since someone has made me mad.
Tommy's eye's changed from their icy blue to pitch black. His bones cracked, he turned away in pain then stood up, picking me up along with him, "Why are you here?"
"There's uh," Tommy scoffed, "Alright don't get mad."
My eyes widened. I flexed my arms and clenched my fists, "What happened Thomas?"
"There were children born here not too long ago, so.."
"There's something else your not telling me," I pushed Tommy,"Talk."
Thomas cranked his arm back, " Dammit Peter, You know just because you're the older brother doesn't mean you can push me around all tim-"
I raised my arm ready to hit him, "Don't make me."
Tommy raised his arms in self defense, "I found two dead female's here, Their crows," he said brushing his hair back with his fingers, " I saw their memories. They were having affairs with Vultures."
"Why are we still bloody here?! There is children -"
"Peter, what aren't you getting man?! These children were taken by their guardians into the other world.
Both women I can't identify them nor their guardians , but they were former Vultures from our side but they were two of your boys, Peter. Their hybrid's extremely deadly extremely valuable. We have to jump on the situation."
I walked in a circle, this was just all overly impossible. Boys couldn't become a hybrid because of their genes unless..,
"No, no that's impossible. This could potentially end us or worse settle the feud between us and the Crows. We have to brings those kids back home."
Tommy coughed, putting his hand on my shoulder, "These hybrids were female.. Peter."
In shock I vanished into my treehouse, walking around in circles. I have to find these girls, these girls are daughters of an abomination, it's too risky to kill them, safer to harbor them and teach them. They are lethal.
My front door slammed open, "Peter you can't just vanish when I haven't finished my thought," Thomas said walking into my treehouse ,
"What I saw was that one child was going to New Orleans and the other to Seattle. There is no magic in that world, I just don't understand how we would get home."
The thought dtill blinded me, Who would dare to come across me?
Have I really lost my touch?
"Here's the plan, we go to their world, find the girls , take them and we have to meet somewhere. I know a few things about this world, and there is a place with magic actually you dipshit. You don't know that world as well as I do."
"Yeah thanks captain,I don't even know what these girls look like. What are you implying Peter?"
I walked into my closet, trying to find two bags. I found one and threw it at Tommy's feet, "Pack your bags, we're going hunting, we may be there a while."
Tommy picked up the bag and put it over his shoulder, "Ignoring my question once more, I think you've gone insane, man. If were reslly doing this do you want Seattle or-"
"Yeah yeah sure, whatever Thomas," I said going through my closet deeper, "I'll have to let our boys take care of the island when were gone. Their strong boys, they can handle it. Find me as soon as you find that girl from that 'New' place."
"How would we know what they are when we find them Peter?"
I dropped to my knees, my heart pounded loudly. I didn't like this stress, I need to lash out my anger, that's what Mary was for..
"Thomas! You'll know. Just go pack, okay? We leave in the morning. We'll figure it out."
What bullshit have I got myself into, I'm trying to find a girl who's image slipped my mind.
This just became the biggest game of hide and go seek
