2: Rogue

We walked along the paved sidewalk in silence for a bit. The town smelled like pie, like Dean Winchesters dream. It was a bit cloudy for my taste, but I could manage.

She told me she was the mayor of this town, so I  had to be on my best behavior in school.

"Where did you go to school before? You moved out here in Maine?"

I bit my bottom lip, as the sun began to peer out from behind the clouds,

"I went to a school in New Orleans for a few years. I didn't really have any friends throughout high school, until the end of second quarter. That's when we moved."

"Why is that?"

I shrugged, "Guess he just didn't like it there."

"What about your mother?"
She said as I looked down at the ground, "Have I touched a nerve?"

"No, no. I just never knew her at all. I've never you know, been on a date or kissed anyone. My father wouldn't let it. He's scared of dying though, he keeps everything a secret.
He won't tell me what happened to his hand or what my mothers name was even.  I can vent and vent  on and on, but I don't want to bore you."

Regina shook her head smiling at me, "Why is he worried about dying?"

"Because he believes something far worse than he is will get me. He believes in magic and karma."

"And you don't?" She said curiously.

"Haven't found something to believe in yet."

After that we ended up in front of this huge manor house.

I looked up at the windows seeing a boy in a flannel mouth the words
'I'll be right down'

"Was that your son?" I asked  turning towards her.

"Yes, my wife and I we - we try our best to protect Henry, he's something else though."

Wife, "Oh really?  What's your wife's name."

"Emma," The manors brown doors creaked open with who I think is Henry walking out, "Henry this is Emilie.  You guys will be walking to school together."

"Alright mom." He said smiling at her as she kissed his head then started walking into the manor.

Leaving him and I alone.

"Uh, Hi. I'm Emilie." I said nodding my head.

"Henry," He said motioning towards the sidewalk, "Come on. We got school."

Walking beside him made it very awkward. Everyone on the streets were looking at us, looking at me.

"Where do you come from Emilie?" Henry said breaking the silence between us.

"Oh, uhm, I'm from all over."

Henry scoffed, "All over?"

I clenched my backpack straps tighter, "Yeah all over."

"Tell me something interesting about yourself. You know what, since you're the new kid I'll let you sit with me at lunch 4th period." Henry said.

"Uh, um thanks" I pushed back the loose strands of hair out of my face, "Im not really interesting , my blood is just weird."

Henry laughed, "What do you mean?"

"My blood is not red or blue, its gold."

Henry stopped and looked at me , "Gold?"

I nodded, "I guess its a genti-"

Henry grabbed my hand, "We're going to the library."

"But don't we have -"

Henry shook his head, "Where were you born?"

I shrugged "I don't know."

"Would you like to know?"

I nodded, "But how would you-"

"Trust me, it'll be real quick." He said running towards the library around the corner. I ran behind him with his hand and mine still together.

Running into the library, Henry dropped my hand scanning the books on the shelf, "This place Emilie is a place with magic. Everyone here has their own story." He said taking a book off the shelf and putting it on a table in front of him.

I walked over towards him looking at the cover of the book.

'The Sirens'

"What does a Greek book have to do with me?"

Henry opened up the book, scanning through the pages ,  "The Sirens is an actual place, just not on this realm. The only way we know about this place is because of Jumpers."

"What are Jumpers?"

Henry stopped on a page, "Its a person who has the power to jump through realms," Henry pointed to a paragraph and started reading aloud, "The Sirens is a place full of magical creatures of all sorts. The Sirens or 'Neverland' is a place ..."

He stopped.

"What? What's wrong?"

"I thought the Sirens were destroyed.. But obviously Neverland is not. Emilie, you need to be careful-"

"Neverland is a made up place Henry."

Henry shook his head, "There's so much you don't know about the outside world.  Earth is only a shell, there's other places beyond the planets. I think your father , Captain Hook was a Jumper," He put the book in my backpack, "Read it in your free time, let's go before we both end up getting grounded. "

*Killian's P.O.V.*

I parked my truck beside the curb of The Manor.  I got out , putting the loose keys in my pocket and walked up  to the door and knocked.

Emma opened up the door, with her eyes peering around the corner of it, "What are you doing here, Killian?"

I sighed. Holding back my emotions in my chest, "I know I'm the last person you want to see Ms.Swan, but I need you to do something for me. It involves my daughter."

She opened up the door wider motioning for me to come in.

Sitting down in one of the chairs in the office, I crossed my leg over my knee. Emma leaned against the desk across from me crossing her arms defensively.

"What's the problem?"

I pinched my temple , "I'm dying Emma, I need to go back to my original realm to get what I need to survive my..cancer."

She looked at me blankly, "You have cancer?"

"That's not the point of why I'm here-"

"But Killian-"

"Listen! I need my daughter to stay here with you while I'm away. I feel like.. I'm slipping away, and if I do I need to know she would be safe here with you Emma. I need to be well for my daughter."

Emma uncrossed her arms, "Any special reason why?"

Don't tell her.

"Someone is coming after her, I can feel it."
