1: Inconvenience

-E's P.O.V.-

Arching my back, I rolled around in my bed trying to find the perfect spot to rest in.
Mornings aren't anyone's specialty, especially mine.

I still have time before my father wakes me up.
I rolled against the wall, resting my head against the cold wall. It must've stormed over night.

In a way, it's always been my father and me against the world. If I could describe my father it would be guarded. He had to be.

My door creaked open, I stayed still with my head against the wall with my eyes closed.
My father walked through my bedroom door , the wooden floor creaking with every tiny step he took, until he sat on my bed with one big releasing creak.

He brushed the hair that was wrapped around my neck behind my head. His warm fingers softly touched my neck.

I tried to keep my eyes closed and not laugh. I bit the inside of my cheek, biting my teeth down, to keep quiet.

"Wake up , Emilie," My father whispered releasing his Irish accent , shaking my arm back and forth gently, "I already put the pop tarts in the toaster."

I opened my mouth still keeping my eyes closed, "Strawberry or Chocolate?"

"Both." He whispered, I could sense the smile creep up on his face.

I shot up forward facing him opening my eyes , "You're serious?"

Dad nodded.

I got up out of bed, making the sheets fall to the floor and ran to the kitchen to get my pop tarts.

In the car my father always kept one hand on the wheel and the other, well it was a hook that laid in his lap.

I opened up the side door and stepped inside the truck. My father owned a big white truck with two leather seats in it. The smell of black pine hit my nose faster then my perfume did.

I put my backpack on the floor of the car and turned on the radio.
'Drag me down' played and I smiled turning up the music.

My father turned down the music and motioned towards the side of the car, "Seatbelt."

I pulled the seatbelt out from behind me and put it in the click thing on the side of me, "Dad, I'm 17 I'm getting a little to old for seatbelts. Also its not fair because you never wear one!"

Dad scoffed pulling out of the driveway, "Your safety is much more important than mine." He said turning up the radio again.

Hearing the cars whoosh past me , seeing the lines on the road look like their running along with the car.
"Dad, I'm mentally not ready."

"Love, its a new school. So what if its like you know , three towns over?"

"How are we still in the district?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, "The what?"

"The district. Like it would have to be in the same town. Why couldn't I went to one of those schools?" I said pointing to a big building with a cross on top of it.

He glanced over, "Sweetheart that's a church."

"You know what, Whatever."

"Whatever." My father said mimicking me.

I hit my fathers shoulder, "Not fair! What even is this town called anyway?"

"Ehm, StoryBrooke."

I widened my eyes open on response.

"What?," My father said looking at me worried, "Why that look?"

"Its just .. It sounds so stupid. I mean of all the names they pick, they pick 'StoryBrooke'."

My fathered laid his head back almost in relief, "Come on Ems, don't scare me like."

I glanced over at him, "Why would I be scared?"

"Hey, I'm allowed to worry. By the way," He motioned to get my backpack, "I got some errands to run this morning, my friend will be taking you to school. "

"What type of errands and who is this person?"

"You'll meet her don't worry, just put on your backpack."

I unlocked my seatbelt and put my backpack on my back, making my hair get caught under it. I put my hands under my hair and pushed it up over my backpack, which covered the whole backpack.

We past a green sign that said 'Welcome to StoryBrooke.' Up ahead looked like nothing but trees and a endless road.

"Wow this place actually exists." I said laughing.

My father let out a small laugh, "I know."

Going out of the trees we finally hit a town, it was so beautiful.

There was a diner, a pawn shop , a library. It looked like my own personal fairytale.

We stopped at a stop sign, just to hear someone knocking at my window.

I rolled down my window and looked at my father then back at her. This lady had brown eyes and black hair with red lipstick. She wore a black coat with a purple blouse underneath with black pants with little high heel shoes.

"Nice to see you back, Mr. Jones."
She said looking at my father.

I looked over at my father who was scowling at her, "You've been here before ?"

He nodded at me, "How else was I suppose to pick your highschool, Emilie?"

"Aah," The lady said as I turned back around to face her, "I'm Regina. Is she going to ShearWater?" She said motioning to my father.

"She is." He said unlocking my door.

Why does he want me to leave so soon?

"That's so convenient to catch you here! I'd be happy to take her."

I looked back over to my father as he sighed, "If that's alright with her."

I hate being put in these types of situations.

"I- I mean, yeah I guess."

I then kissed my father on the cheek, then opened up the door and got out shutting the door behind me.

"I love you Em."
If I knew this would be the last time I would see my daughter again, I would've thought of something better.

I waved back at my dad, "I love you too dad."

"You have your phone on you, right?!"

"Right!" I said clenching the sides of my backpack.

Regina then nudged my shoulder, "I hope you're up for a little walk to my house real quick."
