Clarification
This story is a continuation of the Soundwave story in my Transformers Love book.
Heres a Prologue:
As the Decepticon Communications officer trudged through the freezing snow, he couldn't help but worry that he was going to freeze his aft off. He needed to find Lazerbeak, before he froze too. Under the visor that covered his face, Soundwave scowled down at the snow that reaches up to his digit-tips. Why, oh why, of all places, did Lazerbeak have to malfunction here? On the tallest mountain on this planet, without a single way to track it then a SOS signal. Trudging through frozen water in freezing cold temperature, unable to transform because of the cold.
Fun.
The crunching of the crisp snow echoed through the valley of snow that now resides in front of him. And up ahead...
A trench.
Great.
Despite his complaining limbs, Soundwave backed up, and took a final glance at the ditch, before taking a leap of faith.
And landing safely. On the other side.
Though he displayed no emotion on the outside, on the inside, he was secretly patting himself on the back.
That was a wide trench.
Looking behind him and nodding in approval, he continued walking forward. The wind felt like needles against his frigid metal, and even though he strived to show no emotion what so ever, not even the most encouraging speech could keep him from crossing his arms in an attempt to get warm. His energon sensors started beeping.
He had to find Laserbeak, and fast.
Unfortunately, he couldn't bridge out of there without Laserbeak. If he did, there's a possibility he would never find his creation.
"Come on, Laserbeak, where are you?"
"Oh my! What's a small little thing like you doing out here all alone?" Soundwave froze, and took a rigid defensive stance. He wasn't sure if it was the wind playing tricks, bu he swore he heard a voice.
"And in the snow? You must be freezing, poor thing." There it was again. That was no trick. Tracking from where the voice was coming from, he snuck behind a rock, and peeked out.
There, in a shallow patch of snow, there sat a femme, knees first, holding a blanketed object in her arms. She seemed to be stroking it. Then, she placed the blanket in the snow, and unwrapped it.
And there in the middle, sat Laserbeak.
"Is that better?" She asked in a sweet tone. Laserbeak chirped in delight. As she continued stroking the metallic bird, Soundwave couldn't help but be mesmerized by her kindness. She was relatively small, for a femme, but his scans showed her to be only a year younger than himself. She was mainly a light silver, with light blue and teal highlights. Her optics were blue, which surprisingly, didn't bother him. He didn't notice the time passing as he stared, and stumbled, just a little. The crunching of the snow grabbed the femme's attention, as she jerked her helm in his direction. She swiftly but gently picked Laserbeak up, cradling it in her arms, and grew rigid.
"Hello? Anybody there?" She looked in the general direction of the rock Soundwave was hiding behind. "I know you're there."
Accepting defeat, Soundwave stepped out from behind the rock. Immediately, she froze, and took a step back.
"W-Who are you?" Soundwave just stared, unable to say anything, and not because of his vow of silence.
"Answer me." She demanded. Soundwave continued staring, but nodded his helm.
"Can you talk?" Not answering her question gave her the response. In her servos, Laserbeak sensed the presence of his creator, and started wiggling, eventually slipping out of her arms, flying unsteadily over, and connected to his chassis.
"Oh." She muttered, and looked at the blank visor. It startled her when it suddenly displayed a smiley face, and she took another step back.
"Um, you haven't answered my first question. W...who are you?" Soundwave replayed the recording of the question.
"I...um, asked you first." Soundwave nodded, then played back a recording of Starscream saying his name.
"Soundwave?" She asked. Soundwave was about to answer, when he was interrupted.
"Commander Soundwave. We detect your energy symbol along with that of Laserbeak. We are sending a bridge." Soundwave turned to see a portal open behind him. When he turned back around, she was gone; blown away in a whisp of wind.
~~~
Soundwave stared at Laserbeak's vitals in disbelief. He had predicted that such exposure to under freezing degrees would have caused some serious damage, but, according to this, Laserbeak was perfectly fine. And it wasn't that the vitals were flawed; this was the third time he had checked them.
But, Laserbeak had malfunctioned.
So how was it that he was perfect?
The only conclusion he could think of, was the femme
She had nurtured his creation back to health.
