Chapter 28: The Final Destination
That night, the night (Y/n) was rescued, it was eventful yet everyone rushed like a flock of ducks escaping from a rampaging child to get that night out of their minds. (Y/n) was rescued from the evil clutches of the League of Villains, the League nearly found out Shun was still alive and breathing as well thanks to a sudden confrontation with a key member: Nyah Renora. Shun's assailant from months before. Luckily Midoriya's quick thinking managed to get Shun out of harm's way before anyone could realize he still walked the earth. On the other hand,Touya Todoroki is now what you'd call deceased. Shoto Todoroki awakened as he took on his late brother's flames like a passed torch within his brother's final breath. To top it all off, their secret of working alongside a villain as well as harboring a former villain wasn't one to remain secret after then. The cats are out of the bag! The jig is up! There are many more pressing matters than secrets as of now.
Aizawa & All Might, although they were down to earth astonished that their students had enacted a rescue mission not to forget, fraternizing with a League of Villain spy for months on end, they had no other choice but to let matters rest for the time being. The League of Villains' plan to eliminate the entire Renora family is to be enacted in just a few days. With all this new information (Y/n), Shoto and Hide, although reluctantly, leaked about the League, Aizawa and All Might believed they needed to gather their secret team of Pros before moving forward any further. Get a good night's rest! All Might told his students. The battle has yet to begin...
With the cry of the mattress's springs, Midoriya was drawn from slumber with a flutter of his emerald eyes. Hide, he lied upon his back within the bed for he stared up at the ceiling with glossy eyes adorn with strained slumber. Midoriya rolled over onto his side just enough to glance at the digital clock that sat on the nightstand a mere foot away. Five in the morning... It was about three in the morning when everyone returned from the mission, yet someone was stirring. "How come you aren't sleeping?" Midoriya yawned.
"Shit..." Hide threw himself over. He wasted no time because he buried his face within the nearest pillow. Suffocation, that's what he's trying to do. Force himself to sleep, better to do so as to completely ignore the questions to come.
Now he's gonna hide from me? "Hide..." Midoriya sat up. His head flopped like a dead fish as sleep remained to hold a prominent effect upon his being. "You know I won't judge you for crying-"
"I don't cry okay!!!" His voice drowned out within the pillow's plush. "They outed me! I'm fucked! Them telling my fucking mentor that I used to be a villain! Gah!" He punched the mattress repeatedly. Till suddenly, Hide went still, his cries filled the air. "Why can't anyone understand that I want to forget who I used to be? I'm Hideyoshi Shinso... A Hero. Not Tundra the... The... Villain..."
"Tundra?" Midoriya muttered under his breath curiously. He could only assume it's his villain name. Too bad... It would've been a name only perfect for a hero of his caliber. "Why do you think Aizawa didn't do anything once he found out?" Hide lifted his head from the pillow and sighed at his partner's response. "He asked a few questions and sent us to bed right? If Aizawa was THAT upset about you, he probably wouldn't hesitate to turn you in or chastise us! He didn't do anything. Plus maybe it's like me?" The suggestion had Hide roll over with a slanted brow of confusion. "I knew you were a villain for a while, I just didn't care? I guess that's what I'd call it... You were too good of a person, you knew that everything you did was wrong and that you were actively making an effort to change for the better. Therefore, I don't hold it against you because you're everything but a villain."
"But..." He sighed. "They have no idea-"
"Shut up!" Midoriya snapped. Hide's eyes were large. "Did you not hear a single thing I said!? If Aizawa or All Might were truly upset would we really be sleeping right now?"
"It feels too easy!" He insisted.
"Redemption!" Midoriya growled. "You're not bad anymore! Accept it! Boom! Bed time before I- I- I- I knock you out!!!"
Hide snickered. Whenever Midoriya tries to act all tough it never works out besides making him seem more adorable. Finally, he could rest in bed. His mind was still lingering with a million questions and concerns like what tomorrow may hold in store, what the Pros will do with the information that he's a former villain, if this battle with the League will end quickly or not... He's sure the League won't succeed, but all at the same time, the fear of doubt leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
Come morning, Aizawa and All Might dragged everyone involved with (Y/n)'s rescue to a hero agency in a nearby town. There, many pro heroes gathered from the top ranked to the unknown. Midoriya and Kirishima couldn't get past the fact that the turnout was much larger than when they were up against some 'Chisaki' guy of whom (Y/n) had no clue of who he was. Thankfully they explained Chisaki was a mafia boss who specialized in an underground drug ring right here in japan. Those 'drugs' held the ability to take quirks away from anyone affected. Furthermore, little Eri was his 'granddaughter' of sorts. That's why she's living at UA under Aizawa's care as of now. So if a mission to keep the League of Villains from power and wealth is more important than an anti-quirk drug ring, the Heroes' success is vital in not only the fate of the country but maybe even the entire world.
Shoto groaned as he and his friends made their way to a room in the back of the gathering hall. "What's wrong?" (Y/n) frowned. Is the whole Touya thing still heavy on the mind? I mean... He just died yesterday. They were brothers! Nobody can get over a passing that quickly even if they tried.
Shoto sighed, his heart sitting heavily within his chest. Little embers of blue danced along Shoto's crimson locks the longer he took to respond. "Guess... Guess my dad is involved..." At the head of the room where a projector's screen displayed upon a wall, stood Endeavor and Hawks.
"He's always been involved though..."(Y/n) pointed out in turn. "We begged him to take part in the investigation after Shun got attacked... Remember?"
"It's Hide now!" Her brother cried.
"Shut up!" She snapped.
"I just don't want what happened to Touya to happen again..." If you wanna get technical, Touya was stronger than Endeavor yet he fell slain with such ease on Nyah's part. (Y/n) and everyone else came to such a conclusion as well upon hearing Shoto's statement. Afterall, Touya's passing was still fresh on the mind. A little too fresh and Shoto's enduring it all like a train had ripped right into him.
I never did ask if Shoto's doing alright... Shun claimed that he comforted Shoto enough to think on the bright side of Touya's passing but you can't rush grieving.
Ring Ring Ring!
(Y/n) jumped like a frightened groundhog to the buzzing that penetrated her coat pocket. Her phone rang like wild! Like dropping a pin in a silent room, everyone heard it! "Turn that off!" Aizawa tried to snatch the device away. "This is supposed to be a secret gathering!"
"H-Hang on!" (Y/n) grabbed her phone in such a great hurry she nearly dropped it. The caller I.D: Mom #2. "Why now?" She didn't wanna talk to mom right now. She hasn't spoken to the woman in months. Of all the times she could've called, she had to pick now? Wait... Yesterday was the rescue mission and Nyah escaped. This could be a call for help or maybe even blackmail... "Mr. Aizawa," the girl swallowed the lump in her throat. "It's my mom... She could be in trouble for all I know..."
"Just get into here," Aizawa growled as he ushered his students into the back room.
Before her ringer could time out, (Y/n) smashed the big green button and shakily held the device to her ear. Silence. More silence. Is anyone there? "Hello?" Her voice wavered. Her patience for the caller to talk first had timed out.
"Hi hun!" The woman exclaimed. For someone in her fifties, she's as chipper as ever. A big wave of relief washed over (Y/n) knowing her mother was safe and sound. "I've been trying to get a hold of you for weeks now! Is everything okay?" Now she's worried? It does make sense if what she said is true. Any mother would scour the ends of the earth if her child wound up missing.
"Not really..." (Y/n) had to take a seat. She propped an arm on the table to keep her head afloat. "I'm just... I don't know... It's so great to hear from you again..."
"I haven't seen nor heard from you in forever. Me and your father are worried sick. We wanna see you again."
You don't understand how much I wanna see you too mom... "Now isn't the best time-"
"I don't understand what's going on!!! Why are all my kids dodging me like the plague!?" (Y/n) could hear a loud shatter of what she assumed was a glass or a vase of the sorts. (Y/n)'s step mother was distressed. She misses her babies after all. "Look baby, I've been trying to get a hold of you and Shun. It's almost time for our yearly vacation, all of us pack up and set sail on our private yacht for a week and tour the middle east. We're hoping you and Shun could join us. Or... At least you. I want to bond with my new daughter."
Oh yeah... She's not aware that Shun's in hiding. "I'm a little caught up in hero business right now-" Wait! They're going out of the country for a week? "Hide!" (Y/n) hissed. The mute button was triggered on her end. Hide leaned in with open ears. "Isn't next week when the League plans to kill them? Isn't going out of the country for vacation a good thing?"
Hide's eyes nearly bulged out of his head, "the opposite! League members are disguising themselves as the ship's crew. They plan to kill them during the trip-"
"And you decided to wait till now to say that!?" (Y/n) quickly resumed the call. "Actually, no mom! I can come on the trip. But only under one condition."
"And that is?" The woman hummed.
"If it isn't too much to ask... Friends. I want to bring my friends." Such a dumb question, she's sure of it. Mom loves to meet her friends. Friends are kind of like family too now that she thinks about it.
"Is that all?" Her mother snickered. "Just let me know how many people are coming, I'll make sure the staff know to stock the yacht! Make sure to bring lil' Shoto! I can't get enough of him!"
(Y/n) couldn't help but to smile, "I love you."
"Love you too! I'll let you get back to your 'hero' business. Just make sure you let me know how many of your friends are tagging along."
"Will do... Bye," (Y/n) hung up and everyone stared at her wildly. She thought the conversation was self explanatory but guess not. "Sorry for throwing all of us under the bus but I just got us in... We're going on a small vacation with my family. That way, when the League strikes, we can stop them in their tracks! Any objections?" Silence... That's a good thing right?
AIzawa facepalmed, "we literally just gathered the country's heroes together in one place to talk about a battle plan only for you to decide on one?"
He's... Not wrong. We're so troublesome. "I'm sorry..."
"Don't apologize. Either way we look at this, the meeting is still going to happen," Aizawa fought with the vein that was on the verge of popping from his forehead. "We still need to take care of the plan, any contingencies, the back up too... For now, we'll have to decide on who's going to be the best when it comes to handling the League of Villains on a yacht of all things." There's specific heroes when it comes to the sky, land and sea. However, all of the current sea specialty heroes don't have the skills or battle prowess necessary to handle the League of Villains in combat.
"No matter what," Shoto stepped forward. "We're all going... Father too." (Y/n), Hide, Midoriya, Bakugou, Kirishima and Enji. Already, that sounds like a team to be reckoned with.
By the end of the meeting, well... They interrogated Hide to the point his answers kept circling the other and mind reduced to mush. According to some hero with bunny ears, he had to 'spill his guts' or else she'd beat the living daylights out of him. Her words, not his. He struggled. It was the easiest way to put it. Nobody could blame him either. He was outed to all the people he respects, now he's viewed as the 'traitor' they've been hunting down for who knows how long. Not to say all of his information went to waste! He made sure to reveal any hideouts and facilities the League of Villains were utilizing, the identities of a small handful of members were revealed as well. The ones that lived double lives that is. Hide didn't bother to reveal those that lived strictly as villains of whom didn't bother to live normal lives. Those being Shigaraki, Kurogiri and Toga and such.
Aside from the grandiose secrets the League once kept under lock and key, came the deliberation. Who is to accompany (Y/n) on the family vacation? Hide was first to be thrown under the bus. He originally had no intent, in fact he fought heavily against the notion of partaking in the downfall of the League. With him living under a new identity due to the fact they tried to kill him in the past being his most adamant claim. It was Aizawa however that fought against him on the subject. Not only is this his mess, but it'll really spook the League for them to learn that the man they've slain was back from the dead. Plus, he's a powerful individual that's necessary to the plan.
Next up was Midoriya which was a no brainer. Not only did he volunteer to go, a bunch of heroes encouraged him, including Fatgum, Aizawa, All Might, Ryukyu, the Wild Wild Pussycats, Gran Torino and many MANY more. It just got to the point (Y/n) stopped counting.
Next was also another no brainer, Shoto. He was requested personally, he planned to go never-the-less to support and protect his girlfriend, was a valuable and gifted fighter and that Shoto going on the trip was the perfect cover for his father, the current number one hero, to tag along. Surprisingly, nobody argued that Enji should go on the trip considering the heroic defeat of a Nomu a few months back.
The next two to be picked were Bakugou and Hawks. Bakugou because not only does he want to end the League himself but also due to the fact (Y/n)'s family are also familiar with him. They'd most likely question why he wasn't there anyways. Hawks is another story. He kept going on and on about how he wasn't going to let Endeavor be the only Pro Hero assigned to tackle the League. Plus, he also kept commenting about how well the two of them fight together out on the field. Everyone came to an agreement, therefore granting Hawks permission to take a mini vacation. He's however gonna pretend to be Bakugou's older brother. Yeah, you heard that right. (Y/n) and Shoto together thought it'd be weird to invite another adult on the trip that literally has no connection to (Y/n). Since Enji's tagging along thanks to his son, Hawks will be Bakugou's older brother. Hawks is too young to have a sixteen year old son, the two of them have blonde hair and are considered to be 'fair' looking. So yeah... They're brothers now.
Lastly, as much as Kirishima wanted to go, the heroes decided that there were enough people going along on the trip and requested he stay back. (Y/n) claimed her parents would be fine if more people came, but the heroes didn't want the League to suspect anything. On the back-up team he was assigned!
There it was, the final team: (Y/n), Shoto, Shun, Midoriya, Bakugou, Hawks & Endeavor.
The vacation came a week later where everyone had their bags packed. The celebrity parents made sure to send a luxurious limo for everyone as the trip over to Renora's dock on a southern Japan port was a few hours out. "I need to get out more often..." Hawks or should you call him, Keigo Takami, claimed the yacht was the biggest he's ever seen. Or rather, the largest boat for that matter. The car trip was another form of torture for him. To remain still for hours on end? Heck no! He's always flying, then walking when necessary. He's sworn off of getting around by vehicles long ago and now he's gonna board a boat. Nothing beats flying! The wind in your hair, the view of the world from so high. Oh man... This trip is going to be torture for the bird man. Actually, no! Maybe? Nobody said he couldn't fly on this trip.
"Yeah... We really should've brought more people along..." Bakugou hissed as he began to walk up the boat's ramp.
"Kacchan admitting he can't do something isn't ever a good thing..." Midoriya began to cower, if only a little bit. He'll admit, his relationship with Bakugou has been better than it was in recent years, doesn't mean he's still afraid of him every now and again.
"We'll be victorious!" Enji smirked. That smirk sent shivers down (Y/n)'s spine. His smile hasn't changed one bit in thirty years and it's still as nerve racking as it was back then. "Quit with your loser thoughts. We can't show our enemies fear."
"Nothing you say ever helps..." Shoto snatched (Y/n) by the wrist and dragged her aboard the yacht.
(Y/n) peered behind herself as Enji was admittedly, in shock. He hid his astonishment well, but (Y/n) saw right through him. "That was a bit rude..." She had to admit, out of all the things she's heard Shoto share, this one might be the most aggressive and she knows he rarely holds back.
"He's a narcissist. What else can I say?" Shoto sighed before smiling out of the blue. It was fake, very fake. "Good morning Mrs. Renora."
"Mom?" (Y/n) nearly gasped as her step mother parted ways with some of her staff. Her pale lavender hair flowed with the sea's breeze beneath the large black sun hat that sat atop her head. (Y/n) could've sworn her mother got younger since the last time they've seen one another. From her youthful features, wrinkle-less and devoid of imperfections to the long flowing white silk dress that captured her frame. Money really can do wonders. From plastic surgery to botox. That's the funny thing about all this, Mrs Renora doesn't look 'fake' young such as botched surgeries or too many surgeries for that matter. Her beauty is natural! It's hard to believe she's in her fifties. She could easily be mistaken to be in her early thirties.
"Shoto!" The woman casually stepped forwards, the slap of her sandals against her feet with each step made. Her arms held wide as she embraced Shoto quickly before turning to her half daughter. "And you! I haven't seen you in forever!" Mrs. Renora embraced her tightly in turn. (Y/n) could've sworn she was seeing stars. Mrs. Renora pulled back and caressed (Y/n)'s cheek with her thumb. "You look rough... Are you doing okay? I'm going to treat you to a massage later, alright?" Vulnerable to the elements, lack of sleep, stress, (Y/n) was feeling it all.
"Honestly... You have no idea," (Y/n) wore the most false smile she could muster. "I really needed this vacation." A massage doesn't sound all too bad.
Mrs. Renora, she had to agree, she had no idea what was going on in her daughter's life but she just knew from the depths of her heart that something wasn't sitting right. "You can tell me anything... Alright? I wanna make sure you're okay."
"I'm just burned out..."
(Y/n) wants to tell her... She's... In so much pain, Shoto thought much to his dismay. (Y/n), being the open girl she normally is, remains locked up like a safe in a bank. Not just towards her relatives, but to nearly everyone. Something about the day (Y/n) was rescued changed her. Or maybe... It was well before then? Touya wasn't telling him much if anything at all during their text conversations before his demise. Only that the League was close to figuring out (Y/n) had awakened her thirty years prior. How was the real question. Something must have happened during her time in experimentation to change (Y/n) so drastically.
"I... Think we're all burnt out," Shun finally reared his head. His mother, oh god, it was almost as if (Y/n) never existed. The girl was thrown off to the side as her mother practically dove at Shun and cupped his cheeks all to smother him in kisses. Her peach lipstick littered his face. Shun was annoyed, but made no attempt to fight her off. You'd think with all this attention, anyone would be happy. Not him though... Shun seemed to be almost disheartened at this reunion. Nothing but a frown to occupy his face and pain in his crimson eyes.
Shoto had stepped over to (Y/n), wrapping an arm around her shoulder all to pull her close yet all so loosely. Shoto felt it was a correct action as she laid her head upon his shoulder.
"My goodness!" The mother exclaimed as she peeled herself away from her son, but a hand remained entangled within his violet locks as she practically pet him over the head. "Now you! I haven't seen you in forever! You look like an entirely different person Shun," His mother could read her offspring like the back of her hand. Just one slight difference, be it the smallest thing, would set the woman off!
Shun pulled off a fake yet playful smirk, "It's only been a month or two... I can't look that different mom."
"Um no!" She shook her head vigorously. "It's like night and day right now."
"I disagree-"
"It's more than just physical Shun..." His mother pouts. "You're not afraid to show your arms anymore as far as I can tell. I know it wasn't that long ago but I remember when you lost 'em in the first place. You absolutely refused to go out in public unless we found some way to hide 'em. Having to paint them your already pasty skin color and if I wasn't already a fashion designer you wouldn't have gotten clothes tailored to your new physique! And now you're..." Mrs. Renora stopped suddenly with the most overbearing sigh and tears to prick her eyes. "You're out here showing off your new arms! Practically waving a sign to the world saying 'hey! Don't got 'em anymore but it ain't stopping me!' You don't look so pained or angry anymore... It's like my son found peace and I'm looking at an entirely different you."
"Well I mean..." Shun turned to (Y/n) and smiled genuinely. "I got a sister who loves me who went above and beyond for me so many times despite me never asking for help. I got a mentor now too! My mentor's first disciple just so happens to be our cousin by the way."
"Cousin?" Mrs. Renora slanted a brow. "Oh yeah... Your aunt did mention a few years ago that her son was accepted into UA and was wondering if you still had your mind set on going. I never bothered to mention it since you've never met Hitoshi."
"We're practically twins!"
"Shun!" (Y/n) snapped. Mom doesn't need to know that legally Shun changed his name in order to pass off as Hitoshi's twin. In fact, considering the League is here, it shouldn't be mentioned that the Renora's have other family.
"(Y/n)..." Shun sighed.
"No, No, it's fine!" Mrs. Renora hummed. "We got a little side tracked anyways! I have yet to meet everyone you two brought along." Upon mentioning said fact, (Y/n) and Shoto neglected to notice that everyone had finally made it aboard the ship and were listening intently to the conversation. "Nice to see you again Katsuki!" The woman waved, all that Bakugou had to say was nothing and nodded his head to signify that his presence was acknowledged. However, Mrs. Renora's jaw dropped as she approached Hawks and Enji. "Are you two who I think you are!?"
"Yup! I'm Hawks," the blonde boasted with a smirk. His slid his yellow glasses upwards to rest upon his head of messing locks. "I'm off the clock, so call me Keigo."
"But again! What brings you here!?" She couldn't help but to shake the man's hand.
Keigo hooked Bakugou by his neck, locking him into a restraining hold and aggressively began ruffling his hair. "My lil bro asked if I could come along! OW!!!" Bakugou had bitten Keigo's hand prompting his fleeing feat and an astonished bird man. "Our relationship is complicated..."
"Noted..." Mrs. Renora turned to Enji next. "You're the man! The one my little girl used to... Ya know... Date before her little 'Ice Age' as we like to call it." Everyone facepalmed...
"I prefer not to talk about it considering she's sixteen while Im... Almost fifty," was the easiest way Enji could explain the situation. Thankfully, he was taking the mature route instead of getting all weird. In fact, he never really talked about their past much, if at all ever since (Y/n) came out of her 'Ice Age'. Either it's too awkward for him to address or if he's pushed it firmly into the past. Just like how things should be.
"Oh! Understood," Mrs. Renora finally realized that the topic was in fact inappropriate. Now she understands why her husband dislikes bringing up the subject "What brings you here though? If you feel that you came in order to explain anything or-"
"He's Shoto's dad, mom..." (Y/n) awkwardly mentioned. "I thought you already knew that."
A fire lit up in the woman's eyes. "You're dating your ex's son?"
Her head dropped, "Not again..."
"They are dating. It was entirely their decision, no pressure or influence on my end," Enji calmly explained. "I'm sure you're already aware that Shoto was the one who rescued your daughter from her ice prison. They're been close ever since."
"Their feelings are genuine, that much I'm aware of," the flames in Mrs. Renora's eyes have thankfully diminished. "I must thank you! For going great lengths to rescue my daughter, giving your home over to her in a time of need, all your support and even giving her an apprenticeship under you! The public speaks ill of you, but I don't see a single thing wrong about you."
"Much appreciated," Enji bowed his head. "It is true, even after recent events, I'm still not seen in the best light."
"It's a pleasure to have you join us on our family vacation!" Mrs Renora was now frantically searching about the crowd. "Oh dear... Have I met everyone? I'm not as young as I used to be..."
"Izuku Midoriya Ma'am!" Midoriya popped in. Despite how cheerful he is, he is a bit sad that the woman neglected to notice him beforehand since his vivid green hair stands out like a sore thumb.
"My goodness!" The woman gasps. "My kids have made so many friends!"
"U-Um hey!" (Y/n) interrupted the two. "If it's okay with you, we're going to find our rooms."
"OH! Go ahead honey!" (Y/n) dragged Shun and Shoto off in such a frantic worry.
The boys were so confused and simultaneously crossed their arms upon being let go, "start getting familiar with the crew." (Y/n) hissed. "Shun, you said it yourself, the League will be disguised as the ship's crew. We need to figure out who exactly we're dealing with-"
"Long time no see," Nyah invited herself into the conversation with such a smug look on her face. (Y/n) and Shoto's body went stiff with fear upon hearing that toxic voice of hers. Her smug exterior melted away in an instant as she backed away all so slowly with a heavily bandaged arm hugged to her chest. "Shun..." She breathed. "H-How are you-"
"Alive?" Shun glared at the woman and lifted his shirt to his collarbone with the most evil grimace the crew had ever seen. Three scars, one in his shoulder, one on his stomach, other on his left rib cage. All were small and round, like gunshots. The last scar was long, deep, discolored and ran from the pit of his chest all the way to his armpit. That must be from his lung transplant. It's almost gruesome to look at even now when it's healed. "Next time... Aim for the heart."
"I didn't... Thought you'd come to your senses and come back home." Venom laced the woman's words.
"Home?" Shun growled. "The League wasn't my home... Touya was. But you took that away from me too."
"Ditto... I don't see anywhere as my home. But you already know that hence why I'm planning to erase this family from existence. I know you're all here to prevent the plan from succeeding," Nyah began to step away as if the conversation they just shared never happened. "Just know your efforts are wasted and we'll get rid of the top two heroes while we're at it." And she took her leave with a trail of angered mumbling to follow.
"I guess Keigo and Enji's identities aren't all that much of a secret," (Y/n) grumbled.
"Hawks literally has huge bird wings..." Shoto scratched his chin.
"I-" Just how stupid can this guy get? "I'm not even going to say anything." Shun growled.
"Let's just split up and investigate the crew," Shoto shoved Shun away and dragged (Y/n) along in turn. They started with finding their rooms, dropped off their belongings and proceeded into the search for crew members. The two of them came across a maid shortly after. She was preparing one of the bedrooms in one of those stereotypical maid outfits you always find on television: Black with white lace and stockings. Her hair was done up in twin braids with violet eyes. Her name was Chise, but she wasn't ringing any bells for the two heroes in training so they moved on. Especially since there's only one female League member besides Nyah as far as they're aware.
The next few crew-mates the couple happened to stumble upon were all men: Two butlers and a maintenance worker. They were talking about their home lives and how they won't get to see their families for the whole duration of this trip. The maintenance worker in particular brought up how his daughters at home planned on calling him each night before bed. Quickly, Shoto wrote off the maintenance worker. The butlers however, really weren't talking about any specifics. The butlers were named Sako and Eugene. Shoto took it upon himself to engage in conversation because he found them to be suspicious. Sako apparently serves under the Renora family as a butler of many talents as he was formerly a talented entertainer but this job pays best. Eugene is from Greece. He's been with the Renora family for years. In fact, it was on one of their family vacations that Dante Renora offered Eugene a permanent place in the family as a butler when they hired him initially as an assistant. (Y/n) and Shoto mutually agreed that they're in the clear and moved on.
"You spent more time with the League than everyone else... How many members are there?" Shoto questioned after having interrogated nearly ten staff members and no luck. Something fishy is going on here, that much he's figured out. Is Nyah the only League member here?
"Well..." (Y/n) took a seat and began to count on her fingertips. "There's Shigaraki, the leader. Unless he somehow got plastic surgery done to cover up his split lip, dyed his hair and wore chapstick for once, we wouldn't have come across him." Another finger was put up. "Next is Dabi... But he's dead so..." Just bringing up Dabi felt inappropriate at this time. "We also have Toga. Unfortunately, she's a shapeshifter. It's possible we've already met her but aren't aware of it."
"Yeah... I know who she is..." From Bakugou to Kirishima to (Y/n) herself. They've all informed him of how Toga has had a run in with them all.
"We also have Spinner... We would notice him instantly."
"Huh?" He tilted his head.
"He looks like a lizard."
"Oh..."
"There's also Kurogiri who is also a dead give away. His body is made up of purple mist. Next is Mr. Compress, but again, we don't know what he looks like. He keeps his face concealed. Same with Twice! Nobody knows what he looks like and his only giveaway would be his multiple personalities. We're so screwed!"
Shun sat down at the table with the couple. "Considering everything I just heard, you two had no luck either?"
"Wait... You found nothing? The one who's been with the League for a year or more?" Shoto felt the need to throw out.
"What do you think?" Thus he gave an eye roll.
"If it's only Nyah here, then I say we stand a great chance of succeeding," (Y/n) finally looked on the bright side of things. "Nyah retreated the last time we fought her, and now we have more numbers on top of the fact we have the top heroes here to help us!"
"Do you not remember anything we just talked about?" Wow, Shoto really isn't holding back today.
"What do you mean?"
"You said that we don't even know what most of the League even looks like, let alone their true names. We most likely met a few members and had no idea. Highly doubt it's only Nyah here."
"Agreed," Shun hummed. "We can rule out a good chunk of the League, but not entirely. Im SURE that Toga's here at the very least, which is the sucky part of all this."
"Who's identities do you know from the League?" Shoto glared at Shun.
"I know everyone's!" Shun boasted. "Tomura Shigaraki, Himiko Toga, Kurogiri. At the very least know everyone else's first name. Not so much what they look like... Spinner is Shuichi, Compress is Atsuhiro, Twice is Jin. Did any of you come across those names?"
"Nope!" (Y/n) got up and removed herself from the conversation.
"(Y/n)..." Shoto followed after her. Or rather, her trail of tears. She collapsed within the hallway, not so long after she had left. Shoto was speechless, or more, he didn't know how to help her right now. He knew (Y/n) felt abandoned, left in the dark. How the League of Villains claim they're going to succeed and how nobody can get any leads. All that Shoto could really do, is sit down beside his lover and hold her close.
Just one chapter left after this! How do you think the book will end?
