Chapter ten: Stuck with you

(Y/N) POV
I walked back to the, aptly named, North pole but stopped in the hall when I noticed a familiar shock of white hair out a window. Snowflake? I thought confused as I saw him throwing a lacrosse ball at a wall in the courtyard. I walked outside through the glass doors and quietly approached him in the same way someone would approach an injured animal. When I was about a foot away I gingerly asked,
"Hey... You alright Jack?" He jumped and narrowly missed getting hit in the face with his ball. He wheeled on me and froze. He looked at me with a mixture of frustration and anxiety that shocked me to my core.
"Jack.... Did-did something happen? Is Tooth ok?!" I asked feeling a mounting terror at the thought of what might have happened to get this kind of reaction from him. He nodded and sighed before walking away and sitting against the wall. He brought his knees up and drapped his arms over them, bending his head forward to cradle it in the hollow he had created. I sat down next to him awkwardly.
"So... Is this about Tooth again or....?" I asked fidgeting uncomfortably. He shook his head silently and I frowned.
"You...... Want to talk about it? I mean... I know we're not friends or anything Jack but if you need to talk it seems like we're kinda stuck with each other so you may as well talk to me." He looked at me with an exhausted expression and sighed again unfurling his legs and leaning his head back against the bricks of the building.
"So it turns out that the already SUPER stressful and pressure filled biggest lacrosse game of the season is even more stressful than it already was. Now I have to deal with the fact that my girlfriend just dumped me and I have no idea why, I have to plan prom and every other school event to make sure it's fun, and to top it all off it turns out that if I don't see to it that we win this game my best friend is going to be forcefully transferred to some other school because of a stupid bet!" He threw the ball again with a shout before tearing his hands through his hair. My frown deepened and I punched his arm. HARD. He jumped up and grabbed the spot where I hit him before glaring angrily at me.
"OW! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" I stood up and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"Look Jack, you leave Tooth to me, I already promised I'd help you with that didn't I?" He nodded still rubbing his arm. "If you need any help with prom and stuff I'll give you a hand with that too, I've got some experience with planning things cuz of my parents so it shouldn't be too hard." He scoffed at me and shrugged me off.
"Alright, if you think that you can handle it then what am I supposed to do?" I grinned and playfully hit his arm again.
"Ditch the sulk, focus on the game, and go back to being the annoyingly athletic and prank loving jock we all know and love." He laughed and punched my arm gently before we both went back inside.

3rd POV
Unbenounced to the two students someone was watching them from the road.
"This could be useful....."
