(Y/N) POV
My fingers drummed at the steering wheel as Jack and I sat in awkward silence. Ok that's it. Someone has to say something.
"Hey, I'm...um....I'm sorry, you know for the....um...." I stuttered biting my lip nervously. No you aren't. My thoughts stated mutinously. He chuckled and responded,
"No problem, that 'um...' Saved my ass so honestly I think I should thank you for 'um...ing' me." I laughed and swatted his arm.
"Shut up snowflake, you know what I mean." He grinned and put his arms up in surrender.
"Yeah, I do but you can't give me the perfect joking opportunity and not expect me to take it. Besides... You did honestly save me back there so...." He looked down in embarrassment. I smiled warmly and said,
"Anytime snowflake, just make sure next time you need saving you have time for a shower ok?" He laughed and nodded in defeat.
"Ok that's fair, if you want I'll walk the last few blocks." I shook my head and just opened the windows.
"There I can breathe now." He gently hit my arm and turned to look outside.

Jack POV
I tried to get my heart to stop pounding. I'm just still freaked out from the near death experience, this has nothing to do with the beautiful girl- I mean the the girl sitting next to me. Nothing at all..... Its not like that kiss was the best moment of my life up to this point by far, it was just.....nice, yeah it was just really, amazingly nice....wait....did I just? Arck! Shut up thoughts! You're not helping! I thought groaning internally. You know what? I bet this is that whole suspension bridge thing that Jamie was talking about from psych. Or hero's infatuation something like that. I am not in love with her!.... Not that I ever said I was.... Urgh! JUST.... Shut up.... I ran a hand through my hair and suddenly realized that I was still in my uniform.
"Oh shit! Coach I gonna kill me!" I yelled startling (Y/N) "I'm supposed to put my uniform back after practice, that way it won't get lost." I explained despairingly. She nodded in understanding before putting a hand on my shoulder.
"How about I drive you to school early tomorrow so you can drop it off? I have to come early anyway to help Phil repaint the mural red anyway." I looked at her adoringly, which I immediately switched to gratitude hoping she didn't notice, and said,
"You (Y/N) (L/N) are a lifesaver, you know that right?" She grinned coyly and nodded.
"So I've been told." She stated and I turned back to the window faster than I was aware I could move to hide my sudden blush.
(Time skip because I've run out of things to write)
I was sitting in my living room joking with the guys when Jamie said,
"Oh hey, Jackie your knight in shining armor's come to check on her damsel in distress." I glared at my friends before walking to the door muttering about how I should never have said anything to them. I opened the door to see (Y/N) holding a small white, fluffy cat.
"I'm pretty sure this," she nodded to him "belongs to you." My eyes all but popped out of my head from the shock of seeing Snowflake curled up like an angel.
"How did you...?" I trailed off not sure whether to ask about what cat drug she gave him to get him to let her pick him up or where she found him.
"I found this little guy outside my window begging to be let in, as soon as I opened the window the little guy started purring and curled up right in my lap." She giggled scratching the cat under the chin. Ok....so... My neighbor reads minds, duely noted. I thought blinking as I reached out to take him. I jerked my hand away as his claws hissed through the air towards it.
"I guess he likes you." I said with a nervous chuckle.
"The cats not the only one!" Bunny yelled from the living room. I growled and shouted,
"Oh shut up kangaroo! No one asked for your opinion!" (Y/N) laughed and scratched snowflake's head one last time before planting a kiss on it. Lucky bastard... I thought before mentally hitting myself.
"You gotta go home buddy, I can't keep holding you all day." She said sweetly before putting him down just inside the door. He ran into the living room and started terrorizing my friends. Serves you right.... I thought with a smirk as I heard bunny crying loudly. Just then Jamie decided to come to the door and ruin my life.
"Hey we were just gonna invite Tooth to come, you should join us." I saw her flinch slightly before she shot me a questioning look. Ok no big deal just tell her she doesn't have to and send her on her way, easy. I thought calmly as I opened my mouth to say something. Unfortunately my mouth and my brain didn't seem to be on speaking terms because what came out was,
"Yeah it'll be fun." I immediately wanted to take it back but the second she started smiling I practically melted on the spot. Suspension bridge effect remember? She saved me I developed feelings for her once I get over the fear I'll be over her. I thought forcing down a blush. I moved away from the door to let her in and glared at Jamie, who had a smirk plastered across his face.
"Not. A. Word." I growled jabbing a finger in his face. He grinned and replied,
"Wouldn't dream of it, bunny however...." My eyes widened in panic as I rushed back into the living room.
