Chapter eleven: Special edition Part 1
Jack POV
"Finally! My favorite holiday! I'm totally gonna get (L/N) this year." I told myself as I was getting ready for school. I heard Emma scream downstairs and a grin broke out on my face. I ran downstairs to see her covered in fake cobwebs and I couldn't help but laugh.
"JACK!" She yelled glaring at me. I kept laughing but barely managed to choke out,
"April fools!" My mom walked out into the hall and saw the chaos that my prank had caused. She chuckled softly as she untangled my little sister from the sticky web. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple before heading to the door.
"Jackson can you spare a moment?" I flinched at the name but I turned to my stepdad who was standing at the bottom of the stairs looking at me expectingly. I nodded preparing myself for anything, despite his serious exterior my stepdad was an even bigger prankster than me and that's literally what I used to be known for.
"I assume you're going to try and pull one over on girl next door again this year?" I grinned broadly and spread my arms wide.
"Go big or go home! I'm kinda sick of her reacting the same way every year so this time around I'm really gonna freak her out!" I stated glowing with pride as I thought of what I had planned.
"Well good luck son, maybe this year you'll get the reaction you want." He said with a cryptic grin. I shook my head and walked out the door.
(Time skip)
I walked into the school and was almost immediately met with stares and sniggering. I frowned slightly, not understanding what was going on but I shrugged it off and went to my locker. Once I got to it I approached with extreme caution, remembering the prank I played on (L/N) last year. Once I'd gingerly opened it and nothing came flying, spraying, or exploding out of it I grabbed my books and turned to go to class. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on which end you were on, Tooth tackle hugged me before I could take a single step.
"OHHH! JACK I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" She squealed as she squeezed the last of the air from my lungs. I managed a feeble smile through the intense pain and weezed out,
"Why....?" She, thank all things good, released me from her death grip and said,
"You got over me! I'm honestly glad it didn't take a long time to, I don't want things to be awkward between us." She grinned at me, gave me one last look at the far shore, and walked off happily. Once I could breathe normally again, and had confirmed the fact that there were no broken bones, I tried to figure out what she had meant by 'you got over me'. Unfortunately, no matter how you look at it, my answer came to me in the form of a Very. Angry. Woman.
"JACKSON OVERLAND FROST!" The moment I heard my name I could only think one thing:
RUN!
