22. Founder's Day

Elena, Aria, Stefan and Damon, were in their respective houses getting ready for the founder's day parade, Elena and Aria were both wearing corsets with long puffy dresses, Stefan and Damon were also wearing old fashioned clothes, clothes they used to wear when they were human.

"I can't be the only one who is having trouble breathing in this dress" Aria complained, putting her bracelet on.

"No, you're not the only one" Elena said, putting her vervain necklace on, "These dresses hurt".

"Suck it in babies" Jenna teased, standing behind the two girls and helping them with their dresses.

"Look at you, all retro" Damon teased, walking over to Stefan.

Damon and Stefan were currently at Mystic Falls High School, waiting for their respective girls to arrive.

"We are wearing similar clothes Damon" Stefan retorted, "I can't believe you actually agreed for this parade".

"Well I couldn't have Aria stand on that float all by herself, could I now?" Damon said, "Plus Bonnie deactivated the Gilbert invention, Isobel's gone and it's founder's day, I'm here to eat cotton candy and claim my girl".

"Oh so you're finally admitting your feelings for Aria now, are you?" Stefan teased.

"Wait, huh?" Damon mocked, pretending he didn't hear Stefan, "What?", Stefan let out a mock laugh in response, "You have no sense of humor Stefan" Damon complained.

"Actually, I just have no sense of Damon humor" Stefan retorted, walking away.

"Damon humor? Hey, look, I get it" Damon said, following after Stefan, "I get it, I'm the better, hotter superior choice and you're scared that you're going to lose Aria to me, but don't worry, Aria is not Natalie, this time only one of the Salvatore brother is falling for her".

Damon didn't care if he came across as a possessive boyfriend, he just needed Stefan to know that Aria isn't Natalie, this time history won't be repeating itself, this time only one brother will be falling in love with a Connor witch, and Damon has full intentions of being that brother.

 "You're right, she's not" Stefan agreed.

Stefan knew the only reason his brother was saying this was because he was insecure, everyone in Damon's life has always chosen Stefan over Damon, and if the one girl he let in after Natalie also chose Stefan, then Damon would officially lose it.

Suddenly Damon's attention turned to someone behind Stefan, Stefan turned around to see both Elena and Aria standing there, both were wearing old school dresses, for a second both the brothers froze, looking at both the girls, Stefan and Damon's mind went back to Katherine and Natalie, though Aria and Natalie didn't look the same, currently, with the dress she was wearing, she looked so similar to Natalie, that it was eerie.

Elena and Aria looked towards the brothers, both of them smiled and gave them a small bow.

Aria's Dress for the Founder's Day Parade

"John?" Aria asked shocked, not sure if she heard Stefan right, "John is Elena's father?".

"Is that even possible?" Elena asked, equally as shocked.

"Well, there's no proof, but he dated Isobel when she was a teenager" Stefan explained, "And he was the one who brought her to your dad's office for the delivery".

"My whole life I've never liked this man, I--", Elena didn't know what to say, she was shocked that their was even a possibility of John Gilbert being her biological father.

Aria gave Elena a comforting pat on her shoulder, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just--" Stefan said, "I wanted to tell you before Damon dropped it on you in some typically inappropriate way".

"Good thinking" Aria said, knowing all to well about Damon's antics.

"I'm happy that you told me, I just--".

"She's just shocked" Aria finished for Elena.

"Yeah, and I really hope that it's not true" Elena said.

"Same here" Aria said, "Cause if you're John Gilbert's daughter, then I am going to lose it".

"Trust me, I know Aria" Elena said, she then turned to Stefan, "What am I supposed to do? Do I just confront him and say, are you my biological father?".

"Maybe wait till you're fully ready to know the answer to that question" Aria said.

"I'm never gonna be fully ready Aria" Elena said, "I have enough problems with the family that I actually care about, Jeremy hates me, and why wouldn't he? Aria's journal gave him every single reason to".

"He's just hurt, he's confused" Stefan justified.

"Wait, Jeremy still hasn't forgiven you?" Aria asked shocked, she had figured that when Jeremy has forgiven her, he had automatically forgiven Elena as well, but guess she was wrong.

Elena shook her head in denial, "He's never gonna forgive us for Vicki, for taking away his memory, for lying to him".

Aria had to stop herself from blurting out that Jeremy had already forgiven her, she knew Elena was already hurt and Aria didn't want to hurt her anymore, so she stayed quiet, reminding herself to talk to Jeremy later on.

"He's your brother, he'll forgive you" Stefan assured, "Just give him some time".

"Stefan's right Elena" Aria said, "It's Jer we are talking about here, he could never stay mad at you for too long".

"Jeremy!" Aria yelled, running over to the Gilbert boy.

"Aria hey" Jeremy said, "Wow, you look really nice".

Aria smiled and bowed down, "Well thank you good sir, great job on the outfit and the float by the way".

"Thanks" Jeremy said, smiling at the young witch.

"Hey Jer, can I ask, have you really forgiven me or did you just say that to make me feel better?" Aria asked, making Jeremy look at her in confusion.

"Of course I've forgiven you Aria, if I hadn't then I wouldn't have said it" Jeremy clarified, "But why are you asking me this?".

"Because Elena told me you still have forgiven her" Aria said, "I had automatically assumed you had forgiven her when you forgave me, so I was kind of shocked when Elena said you're still angry with her".

Jeremy sighed, "Aria I forgave you, because your apology was sincere, I saw that you actually regretted erasing my memory, but Elena, she hasn't even apologised to me, she just keeps trying to justify herself, not once has she sat down and said that she's sorry, and that hurt, so yeah, I've forgiven you, but I'm not forgiving Elena".

"Jer--".

"Look Aria, I really need to go" Jeremy said, not wanting to talk on this topic any longer, "Elena needs to realise that she can't fix this that easily, something like this doesn't just get fixed".

After Aria's talk with Jeremy, it was finally time for the Founder's Day parade.

"Let's give a big hand to the Mystic Falls High School Marching Band" Carol Lockwood, announced as the marching band marched through, "And for a little local history, Mr Saltzman's students have recreated Virginia's Battle of Willow Creek", as the float Jeremy and Tyler were in went by, "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our stunning Miss Mystic Falls court and their handsome escorts" Carol announced, as the float Caroline, Elena and Aria were in, alongside their respective escorts went by, the three girls very eagerly waved at all the familiar faces they saw in the audience, "This is Caroline Forbes, Miss Mystic Falls, aren't they beautiful?".

Aria saw Bonnie in the crowd and waved at her, but frowned when Bonnie refused to meet her eye, Aria felt like Bonnie was hiding something from her, something Bonnie was too ashamed to admit, and that worried Aria.

"By the way Ria" Damon whispered into Aria's ear, breaking her out of her thoughts, "You look extremely beautiful today".

Aria smiled at Damon, "You don't look bad yourself, I kind of like retro styled Damon".

Damon smiled, "Well, then you would have loved human Damon".

"Human or vampire, it doesn't really matter to me, I'd like you either way" Aria said, looking at Damon.

While Aria and Damon were having their small moment, both of them missed the look of guilt that came over Bonnie's face when she saw Aria and Damon together.

After the parade, Damon had left Aria to go find Bonnie, claiming he had something important to talk to her about.

"Bonnie!" Damon called, when his eyes landed on the Bennet witch.

Bonnie looked towards Damon and frowned seeing him, she turned to leave, but Damon stopped her.

"Where you going?" Damon asked, following Bonnie.

"Away from you" Bonnie snapped.

"I wanna say something" Damon said.

"Just leave me alone" Bonnie said, not wanting to hear anything from Damon.

"Thank you" Damon said, "The device that Emily spelled could've killed me, I don't take what you did lightly so, thank you".

"I did it for Aria" Bonnie replied, slightly shocked with Damon's words.

"I know that, but I'm still very grateful" Damon said, "And I owe you".

After a pause, Bonnie turned around and left without saying anything else to Damon.

"That was actually really nice of you" Aria commented, walking over to Damon, having heard Damon and Bonnie's conversation.

"Were you eavesdropping Ria?" Damon teased.

"I needed to make sure Bonnie didn't melt your insides" Aria defended.

"Well she didn't" Damon said, "I think I'm finally making progress with her".

Aria laughed, "Sure Damon, whatever you want to believe".

After changing into her normal clothes, Aria entered the Grill and started looking around for any familiar faces, that's when her eyes landed on Damon, who was already looking at her.

"I like you better like this" Damon complimented.

"But I thought I looked beautiful in my period dress?" Aria teased.

"You did, but if I had to choose between your two looks, I will easily choose this modern day Aria" Damon said.

"I am going to take that as a compliment" Aria said.

"You should Ria, it is a compliment of the highest order" Damon said, making Aria laugh.

"Is it just me or has your flirty little comments increased in the past few days?" Aria asked smiling, "Alongside the eye thing you do".

"What eye thing?" Damon teased, purposely doing that eye thing.

"You're an ass, you know that?" Aria asked, playfully nudging Damon.

"Of course I know, it's my trademark Ria" Damon said.

Aria laughed at Damon, her eyes then landed behind Damon where she saw Jeremy and Elena arguing, then Jeremy getting up and leaving the Grill, leaving behind an upset Elena.

"I'll be right back" Aria said, running after Jeremy before Damon could say anything.

"Jer!" Aria yelled, running behind Jeremy.

"I don't want to talk about it Aria" Jeremy snapped, knowing that Aria had seen his and Elena's argument.

"Jeremy, you need to give her a break" Aria said, grabbing Jeremy's wrist and stopping him, "Elena's really trying with you Jer, you need to give her a break, there's a lot going on with her, don't make it any harder".

"I'm making it harder?" Jeremy asked, looking at Aria in shock.

"Jer, don't take this the wrong way, but you have forgiven me, when I played a equal part in erasing your memory, then why are you being so hard on Elena?" Aria asked.

"So you're saying I shouldn't have forgiven you?" Jeremy snapped.

"That's not what I'm saying" Aria said, frustrated with Jeremy, "I'm just telling you to try and understand Elena's point of view".

"Why don't you try to understand my point of view Aria?" Jeremy said angrily, "Why don't you for once in your life not defend your best friend?!".

"Jer I'm not--".

"Leave it Aria" Jeremy snapped, "I don't want to hear it".

Jeremy walked away from Aria, after a pause, an upset Aria walked back into the Grill, really hoping she hadn't made things worse.

"I have so many emotions, but I don't have any way to express them" Damon mocked, walking by Jeremy, having heard Jeremy and Aria's argument, "Being a teenager is so hard".

"Dick" Jeremy said.

"You do not talk to me like that, I'm not Aria" Damon snapped, he grabbed Jeremy's arm and stopped him, "And from now on, don't talk to Aria that way either".

"So what, you're gonna kill me just because I hurt Aria's feelings?" Jeremy snapped.

"Cut her some slack" Damon said.

"She's hell bent on defending Elena, she's so loyal to Elena that she forgets everyone else" Jeremy snapped

"First of all, Elena didn't erase your memories, I did" Damon said, "And Aria's defending Elena because she knows that both of them did it to protect you".

"That wasn't their call to make" Jeremy said, about to walk away but Damon grabbed him by his arm.

"Let go before I cause a scene" Jeremy warned, slightly scared.

"You'd be unconscious before you even got a word out" Damon threatened.

"Let him go" Stefan said, walking over to his brother and Jeremy, "You all right?" he asked, standing between Damon and Jeremy.

"Yeah" Jeremy whispered.

"What my brother is trying to say is don't blame Elena and Aria for this" Stefan said, glaring at Damon, "Damon turned Vicki, I killed her, she was a threat to you and she was a threat to your sister and Aria, I'm sorry that it happened, I wish that it hadn't".

"Shouldn't have made me forget" Jeremy said after a pause, he then walked away from the brothers.

"Good cop, bad cop, I like it" Damon said.

"What are you doing?" an annoyed Stefan asked.

"He was being a punk" Damon defended.

"Aria and Elena's relationship with Jeremy is none of your business, so stay out of it" Stefan warned.

"Oh there's only one do gooder hero role available" Damon mocked, "Oh, my bad, I'm sorry".

"Get over yourself, we both know you're not doing this for the right reasons" Stefan said.

"Careful Stefan, if you continue this I might just assume your jealous of me and Aria" Damon teased, with some seriousness in his voice, "It just--what are the right reasons, Stefan? Enlighten me, please".

"Well see Damon, it's only real when it comes from your desire to do the right thing" Stefan replied, "For nothing in return".

"Right" Damon said.

"And I know that is an entirely foreign concept to you" Stefan said, "I completely understand how you wouldn't get it".

It was now night time and Aria was walking along the town square with Elena and Stefan, enjoying the town fair, when suddenly a slightly panicked Damon came over, and held Aria's hand in his.

"Hey".

"Damon, what's wrong?" Aria asked confused.

"Fifteen words or less, tomb vamps are here" Damon informed the trio, "Founding families are the target, get them out of here Stefan, now".

"Wait Damon, where are you going?" Aria asked, seeing Damon leave.

"That's more then fifteen words Ria" Damon said.

"I'll come with you" Aria said, not wanting to leave Damon alone, something told her this is going to end bloody.

"No, I need you to be safe, let Stefan take you home" Damon said.

"No I can't--".

"Damon's right Aria" Stefan said, "Come with me, we need to get you and Elena to a safe place".

Aria looked at Damon with teary eyes, for some reason her heart wasn't allowing her to leave him alone, she felt like something really bad was going to happen tonight.

"I'll be fine Ria, I promise" Damon said, sensing Aria's inner dilemma.

Aria nodded and with a heavy heart let Damon go.

 "Wait" Elena said, "Jeremy's out here somewhere".

"Let's go find him, come on" Stefan said, grabbing Elena and Aria's hands and taking them with him.

Aria and Elena were walking along with Stefan, trying to find any sign of Jeremy, when suddenly Stefan fell to the floor, clutching his head in pain.

"Stefan!" Aria yelled, bending down, "Stefan, what happened?".

"What's happening?" Elena asked.

"My head" Stefan groaned.

"What?" Elena asked.

"My head" Stefan repeated.

While Elena and Aria were busy trying to help Stefan, they failed to see a deputy making his way towards them, luckily Alaric came on the right time.

"Hey, I got this one, there's another one over there, take this, go, go, go" Alaric said, handing the deputy a stake and pushing him away from Stefan.

After the deputy left, Alaric ran over to Stefan, "Get up" He said, helping Stefan stand up,

Aria and Alaric supported Stefan on either side and quickly moved him to the corner, away from everyone's sight, "What's going on Ric?" Aria asked, panic rising in her chest, "Why did Stefan just drop like this?".

"He's not the only" Alaric informed the two girls, "Cops are grabbing everyone who's gone down, injecting them with vervain".

"What?" Elena asked shocked.

"Yeah".

"They're rounding up the vampires" Aria realised.

"You okay?" Aria asked Stefan.

"It was like needles were piercing my skull" Stefan explained, "And then it just stopped".

"I saw at least five vampires go down" Alaric said, coming back to the trio, "They're taking them to your family's old building".

Aria and Elena looked at Alaric in shock, "It's the Gilbert device" Stefan realised, "It has to be".

"But how did he get it to work?" Elena asked confused, "Bonnie unspelled it".

"Or maybe she didn't" Alaric suggested.

"She did, we saw her do it" Elena argued, refusing to believe her best friend will betray her like this.

"No, he's right, think about it" Stefan said, "We asked Bonnie to deactivate a device that could protect people against vampires".

"So we could protect you" Elena defended.

"And Damon, the two vampires who Bonnie blames for her Grams's death" Aria said, realising that Bonnie had lied to them, that would explain why for the past few days, whenever Aria looked towards Bonnie, Bonnie would immediately divert her eyes, "Oh my god, I trusted her, you trusted her Elena, and she didn't care about that, in her hatred for vampires, she betrayed our friendship".

"No Aria" Elena said, refusing to believe Bonnie will do something like that, "This is Bonnie we are talking about".

"Oh my god" Aria said, realising something, "Damon, he's still out there, I need to go find him, I need to make sure his okay".

"Aria wait!" Elena yelled.

But Aria didn't listen, she kept running, she needed to find Damon, she couldn't let anything happen to him, she doesn't know what she will do if something happened to Damon.

"Aria wait!" Stefan yelled, running after Aria and grabbing her arm, with Elena right behind him.

"No!" Aria yelled, "I can't wait Stefan, the longer I wait, the more likely it is that I lose Damon, and I refuse to lose him".

"Hey, hey, hey" Stefan comforted a hysterical Aria, "You're not going to lose him Aria, let me help you find him, two heads are better then one".

Aria nodded and went to walk away, but Stefan stopped her again, "Stefan, let's go" Aria snapped, "We are wasting time by just standing here".

"Aria, I can hear them" Stefan informed, "The building is on fire".

"What?" Aria asked shocked.

"Building's on fire" Stefan repeated.

Aria, Stefan and Elena wasted no time in running over to the building, Stefan and Aria both wanting to save the person they cared for so immensely.

"Where is he?" Aria asked, running over to John with Stefan and Elena, "Where is Damon?".

"With the rest of them, where he should be" John said, "It's over for Damon".

"No!" Aria yelled, "I'm going to save Damon, and then both of us are going to come for you, it's going to be over for you, not for Damon".

Without hearing John's reply, Aria ran over to the burning building.

"You're crazy" Elena said, looking at the man infront of her in disgust.

"Why? Because I'm doing what should've been done 145 years ago?" John asked.

"Do you even realise what this is going to do to Aria?" Elena snapped.

"This is the right thing Elena" John said, "And you and Aria need to realise that", John turned to Stefan, "Go ahead, you won't make it out, you'll save me the trouble of killing you myself".

"Stefan" Elena said, suddenly very worried, "Aria's gone in there".

"You know the building well, is there another entrance Aria could have used to get in?" Stefan asked.

"Yeah, the utility door, there's one around the side" Elena said, Stefan nodded and went towards the door, Elena tried to follow but John held her arm, stopping her.

"You take one more step and I'll alert those deputies they missed a vampire" John warned.

"I'm asking you not to" Elena pleaded.

"That doesn't mean anything to me" John retorted.

"As my father, it should" Elena snapped, shocking John.

"You know" John said, stepping away from Elena.

"I wasn't sure" Elena said, "But now I am".

Without hearing anything else from John, Elena ran after Stefan and Aria.

Aria ran to the utility door and went to open it, when Bonnie ran over to her.

"Aria!" Bonnie yelled, "You can't go in there, the fire will take you out".

"You did this Bonnie!" Aria yelled, looking Bonnie with tears streaming down your faces, "I trusted you and you broke my trust, and now because of you, I'm about to lose the man I love!".

"Aria listen--".

Aria ignored Bonnie and went into the burning building, she reached the basement door and tried to open it, but the handle was too hurt, causing Aria's hand to burn, Aria took a deep breath, and concentrated on the door, after a moment she tried the handle again, and this time she was able to open the door, but when she opened it, the fire started spreading outside, Aria took another deep breath and started chanting again, causing the fire on the stairs to become very little, making it easier for Aria to walk in.

Damon heard footsteps coming into the basement, he was shocked seeing it was Aria.

"Damon!" Aria yelled, running over to the oldest Salvatore, "Come on Damon, we have to get you out of here".

"You shouldn't be here Ria" Damon coughed out, as Aria helped me stand.

"This is exactly where I'm supposed to be" Aria said, helping Damon walk over to the stairs, "I couldn't have you die without me telling you how much I love you".

"What?" Damon asked shocked.

"Come on Damon" Aria said, helping Damon up the stairs.

Eventually, after much difficulty both Damon and Aria made it outside, where Bonnie was stopping Elena and Stefan from entering the building.

As soon as they were outside, Stefan and Elena both ran to their respective brother and best friend and helped them stand.

Aria was sitting in the back of the ambulance, getting her burnt hand dressed up, after Aria had saved Damon, he had disappeared claiming he had something important to do but he promised Aria that before the night ends he will see her.

"How you feeling?" Elena asked, walking over to Aria, as she got down from the ambulance.

"I feel brand new Elena" Aria joked, her mood much better.

"You know, what you did today was very reckless Aria" Elena said, "You could have gotten seriously hurt".

"But I didn't Elena" Aria retorted, "And honestly, even if I had gotten hurt, I wouldn't have cared, this is Damon we're talking about, how do you expect me to just let him die?".

"I didn't--".

"Aria".

Aria turned around hearing her name being called out, to come face to face with Bonnie, "Bonnie".

"Can we talk?" Bonnie asked slowly, knowing fully well that Aria was really mad at her.

"I don't think that's a good idea" Aria said.

"Aria--".

"No Elena" Aria interrupted, "Right now, I'm furious at Bonnie, because of her Damon, hell even Stefan could have died, Anna did die, I need some space from her, otherwise I might end up saying something I shouldn't have".

Aria turned around and left Bonnie and Elena to themselves.

Elena looked at Bonnie with a sympathetic look, "Just give her some time, she will come around".

"Yeah" Bonnie whispered, "I really hope so".

Damon came out of the Gilbert's house, he came here to inform Jeremy about Anna's death, he even offered to take his pain away but Jeremy refused saying it doesn't really help, as the emptiness is always there.

As Damon closed the front door, Elena started walking up the porch.

"What are you doing here?" Elena asked confused.

"Where's Aria?" Damon asked, as far as he remembered Aria had told him she would be coming home with Elena.

"She's at the Grill, her and Bonnie are talking it out" Elena informed, "Aria was pretty mad at her for not deactivating the Gilbert device".

"Right" Damon whispered, a small smile forming on his face when he thought about Aria and her confession in the fire, "And to answer your question, I was here to do a failed and feeble attempt at doing the right thing".

"Which was?" Elena asked.

"It's not important, let me take this for you" Damon said, grabbing Elena's dress and putting it on the seat outside.

"Thank you" Elena said.

"You know, I came in this town wanting to destroy it" Damon confessed, "Tonight, because of Aria, I found myself wanting to protect it, how did she manage to do that to me? I'm not a hero Elena, but I want be her's, I don't do good, but I want to be good for her, it's not in me, but I still want to try, for Aria".

"Maybe your wrong" Elena said, "Maybe you do have it in you to become a better person for Aria".

"No, no, that's reserved for my brother and you and Aria" Damon said, "Can you believe it? That crazy girl walked into the fire just to save my life".

"Why do you sound so surprised?" Elena asked.

"Because despite everything I've done, Aria still decided that I was worth saving" Damon said, "I'm here because I wanted to thank her, I wanted to tell her my answer about what she confessed to me tonight".

"Aria's not the only one who thinks your worth saving Damon" Elena whispered, ignoring Damon's words about Aria's confession and instead stepping closer to him.

"What?" Damon asked confused.

Elena stepped even closer, she put both her hands on Damon's face, and before Damon could process what was happening, Elena smashed her lips on to Damon's, for a moment Damon stood there shocked, when he finally realised what was happening, he pushed Elena away from him.

"What the hell Elena?" Damon asked furious, confusing Elena, "Why did you do that?".

"Damon I--".

"Need I remind you that your dating my brother, and I'm in love with your best friend" Damon snapped, "The same best friend who will go against the world for you, just cause you look like Katherine, doesn't mean you act like her as well".

Elena frowned hearing Damon, and before she could defend herself, Jenna opened the door, and frowned seeing the obvious tension between Damon and Elena, "It's late, you should probably come inside".

Elena nodded and after sparing Damon one last glance, went inside, while Damon stood on the porch, wondering as to what had just happened, he had come here to ask Aria if she actually meant what she said when she was recusing him, instead he ended up kissing Elena, Damon was scared what will Aria's reaction be when she finds out about this.

John stood in the kitchen, taking out a water bottle from the fridge, he closed the fridge and jumped seeing Elena standing there.

"You scared me" John said.

"I'm sorry" Elena apologised, walking over to the sink.

"You know, I first met Isobel when I was a teenager" John said, making Elena turn to him, "I fell in love with her instantly, although I'm pretty sure she never loved me, she was special, part of why I hate the vampires so much is because of what she became, how it ruined her, and I never would've sent her to Damon had I know she wanted to turn, it's my fault, I'm telling you this because I hope, maybe you'd understand".

"Thank you" Elena said.

"Can I help?" John asked.

"Sure" Elena said, her eyes falling to John's hand where his ring was, before John could process anything, Elena had gotten a knife and had chopped John's fingers off, making him scream in pain, she then shoved John to the wall.

"Katherine?" John asked.

Veins appeared under Katherine's eyes, "Hello John, goodbye John", and with that Katherine stabbed John in the stomach.

"We looked everywhere" Elena said into the phone, as her and Aria approached the front door, "Yeah, someone definitely took my stuff, no Aria's stuff was still there, me and Aria are just going to check on Jeremy before we go to the hospital".

If Aria was to be honest, she didn't want to check up on Jeremy, she wanted to be with Caroline, Caroline's mom had called Aria and had informed her about Caroline's accident, Aria wanted to run to the hospital but Elena stopped her saying they will go together, after much arguing, Aria half heartedly agreed.

"Can you meet me there? Okay" Elena said smiling, "I love you Stefan".

Aria entered the house and wondered how could Elena be smiling when one of their best friend was admitted in the hospital.

"Jeremy? Are you up?" Elena called.

"Elena hurry up" Aria snapped, "I need to get to Caroline".

Before Elena could reply, both the girls heard something fall in the kitchen, the girls looked at each other in confusion, and slowly started walking towards the noise.
