03. Original Sin

"Damon!" Aria yelled, waking up from her sleep, frightened by the dream she just had.

Damon groaned in his sleep, "Does our baby give you restless sleep syndrome or something, it's like sleeping with a tornado".

"You're okay" Aria whispered, looking at Damon and breathing a sigh of relief, "You're okay".

Damon finally opened his eyes, and looked at Aria in confusion, "Why wouldn't I be okay?".

"I had a dream about you" Aria replied, "The dream felt so real Damon, like you were actually going through that, like I was there with you watching you suffer".

"What was the dream about?" Damon asked curiously.

"Well, I saw you, walk out a random bar, the bar had a red awning and a broken neon sign" Aria recalled, "And you were screaming Damon, like you were in a lot of pain".

"Ria, relax, it was just a dream" Damon assured, "It wasn't real, I'm right here, and I'm okay".

"You don't get it Damon, I felt like that dream was sending me a message, I don't think we should ignore it, we need to go to that bar" Aria said.

"Well, should I go check in the attic to see if there's a crystal ball?" Damon asked sarcastically, "Maybe you can conjure up an address".

"Route 29, Joe's Bar" Katherine said, entering Damon and Aria's room, "I think I had the exact same dream, except it had Stefan in it not Damon".

"You look awful" Aria said, looking at Katherine's appearance in amusement.

Katherine had a cast over her arm, her hair was a mess and there were bruises all over her face and body, courtesy of Kol, they were keeping Katherine in the boarding house so Silas couldn't reach there, but Kol was making sure her stay was extremely painful.

"So I found nine bars along Route 29" Damon said, "And none of them are called Joe's".

"Damon, this whole summer I had a feeling something was wrong, and turns out I was right, Silas was on the loose, I'm not to ignore my feeling again, I'm not going to let anything bad happen, again" Aria said.

"I never said we are not following your crazy psychic dream, I'm just letting you know it's going to be a long drive, you sure you up for it?" Damon asked.

"I'm up for it, right after Kol brings my sandwich" Aria replied.

"I bought your pickles and cheese sandwich" Kol said, entering the living room.

"Give me, give me, give me" Aria urged, speeding over to Kol and snatching the sandwich from him.

"Careful Ri", "Careful Ria", both Kol and Damon said.

Aria rolled her eyes at the two overprotective vampires, "Relax guys, I'm fine".

"You have to be careful" Kol said, "Me and Damon read somewhere that the first three months are the most important months".

"You two are reading pregnancy books now?" Aria asked amused.

"Aren't you?" Damon replied.

"Touché" Aria said, taking a bite of her sandwich, and letting out a moan, "God, I love you".

"Who are you talking to?" Damon asked, looking at Aria in amusement.

"The sandwich" Aria replied, "Obviously".

"Right, my bad" Damon whispered, laughing at Aria's antics.

"Shotgun" Katherine said, entering the room, "What? I get carsick in the back seat, another charming, human side effect".

"She's coming with us?" Kol asked, glaring at Katherine.

"Trust me, I have no interest in Katherine's well being" Damon replied, "But Silas wants her real bad, and if Silas wants her, I want her more".

"Also, Damien would kill both of you two if you lose her" Aria reminded.

"I can't die" Kol retorted.

"He will find a way" Aria retorted back.

"Do you really think that I want to take a road trip with any of you?" Katherine asked Kol, "I just want to find Stefan".

"We don't know if this dream is going to led us to Stefan" Aria reminded.

"Worth a shot" Katherine said.

"Okay, train's leaving the station" Damon said, grabbing Aria's hand, "Choo-choo".

"I'm going to hate this" Kol mumbled.

"Kol, did you get more sandwich's?!" Aria called out.

"Of course I did" Kol said, following Damon and Aria, "You would have killed me if I hadn't".

Two Thousand Years Ago,

Adriana sat by the fountain, playing with the water when Damien walked over to her.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Damien asked.

"No thoughts, just relishing in the peace and quiet" Adriana replied.

"I don't mean to push, but have you thought about my offer?" Damien asked, sitting next to Adriana.

Adriana looked at Damien and smiled, "You already know my answer, but are you sure you want to go against your own brother for me?".

"If his my brother, then he will happy for me" Damien replied.

"If I had chosen him over you, would you have been happy for him?" Adriana asked curiously.

Damien sighed, "I think at first I would have been very upset, but as time went on I would have learned to be happy for you and him".

Adriana smiled, "You're a good brother Damien".

Damien looked at Adriana, "I'm trying".

Adriana looked at Damien, then suddenly, splashed him with the water, shocking him.

"Cheer up Damien, tonight you're about to be immortal with the love of your life" Adriana teased.

Damien playfully glared at Adriana and started splashing her with the water, causing Adriana to laugh and run away from him.

"Adriana!" Damien laughed, running after Adriana.

While the two soulmates were enjoying each others company, they completely missed Silas and Amara looking at them, with envious eyes.

One Thousand Years Ago,

"Sean!" Dallas yelled, "What's wrong? Why are you so upset?".

"Sebastian's mother died Dallas, and now him and his family are leaving the village" Sean replied, "I never got to tell her, I never got to tell Ariana how much I love her".

"Ariana is leaving?" Dallas asked shocked.

Sean nodded, "Now leave me alone, I want to be left alone in peace".

Dallas nodded, leaving his brother alone, he made his way into the woods, looking for a certain someone.

"I didn't think you would come".

"Were you going to tell me that you were leaving?" Dallas asked, sitting next to Ariana on the ground.

"I didn't know how" Ariana admitted.

"Are you going to forget about me when you leave?" Dallas asked.

"Don't be silly Dallas, no one ever forgets their first love" Ariana replied.

"So this is it, huh?" Dallas asked, "This is how our love story ends? With you and me going our separate ways?".

"There's someone out there whose going to love you way more the I ever could, you just have to find her" Ariana replied.

"I did find her, but she's leaving me" Dallas stated.

Ariana sighed, "If you and I are meant to be Dallas, then one day, we will find our way back to each other, it might take some years, but true love always prevails".

"What if we both find our way back to each other, but we're no longer available?" Dallas asked.

Ariana shrugged, "We can still be friends".

"I'd like that" Dallas said, giving Ariana a small smile.

"So see you in the future?" Ariana asked.

"See you in the future Ariana" Dallas replied.

Unknown to both Dallas and Ariana, that before they could go back to each other, Ariana will be killed by Tatia, while Sean will kill Dallas over a petty feud over a piece of land, and when Ariana will be reincarnated as Aria, she will have no memory of Dallas.

"Sure you know what you're looking for?" Damon asked Aria, who was sitting in the back seat, with Katherine, eating ice cream, "The last bar had a red awning and a neon sign".

"I'll tell you when I see it" Aria replied, "God, I am so lucky I'm a vampire, otherwise I don't even know how much weight I would have gained in these few months".

"Why are you eating so much, anyways?" Katherine asked curiously.

"Mind you own business" Kol snapped, "And don't cast your evil eye on Ri".

"I'm just trying to make conversation" Katherine defended.

Aria rolled her eyes at Katherine, she rolled down her window, and stuck her hand out.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked.

"Feeling the air on my skin" Aria replied, "It honestly feels amazing".

Both Damon and Kol smiled at Aria's words, they both could easily tell, ever since finding out about her pregnancy, Aria was more happy, more carefree, they all were.

"Oh my god" Aria said, suddenly realising something.

"What?" Kol asked confused.

"I forgot to tell Nik and Elijah the news" Aria replied.

"What news?" Katherine asked curiously.

"Didn't I tell you to zip it?" Kol asked, making Katherine immediately shut her mouth.

"And Ria, you can tell them the big news when we get back home" Damon assured.

Aria sighed, "I guess, it's just I want to shout it to the world".

"I know Ria, so do I" Damon said.

Damon and Aria looked at each other through the rear mirror, with huge smiles on their faces.

1864 (One Day Before Katherine And Natalie's Arrival),

Damon Salvatore, sat by the quarry, he needed a break from his father and brother, so he came to the quarry for some peace and quiet.

Damon's thoughts were broken when he heard a chime of someone's anklet, behind him.

"Whose there?" Damon asked, turning around and trying to see who was here with him.

"I'm sorry" A girl said, coming out of the shadows, "I didn't mean to startle you".

Damon looked at the girl infront of him in confusion, he couldn't see her face, as it was covered by a scarf, the only thing thing Damon could see was her big brown eyes and her brown hair, immediately Damon felt a weird pull towards the girl infront of him, without even seeing her face.

"Who are you?" Damon asked confused.

"My name is Avery Connor, and I'm really sorry for disturbing you, I was just looking for someone" Avery replied.

"Are you new in town?" Damon asked, he would remember if he saw those eyes somewhere.

Avery nodded, "I'm actually looking for my mother's sister, I was told she was coming here, but I think the information was wrong".

"Do you want me to help you?" Damon asked.

Avery shook her head, "It's okay, I really don't think she's here".

"Right" Damon whispered, "Um, I'm Damon by the way".

"I'm Avery, which I already said, I'm sorry, I'm not used to talking to guys like you" Avery rambled.

"Guys like me?" Damon asked confused.

"You're hot" Avery blurted out, and immediately slapped a hand over her mouth, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, that was my inside voice that refused to stay inside".

Damon chuckled, "It's fine, if it's any consolation you have beautiful eyes".

"Mine are boring, yours are cool, you have blue eyes, like the sea, and I like the sea" Avery rambled again.

"I like the sea as well" Damon said.

"Well, I should probably go, and find my aunt" Avery said, really embarrassed.

"Will I see you again?" Damon asked hopefully.

"Tomorrow" Avery replied, running away, leaving behind a smiling Damon.

The next day, Damon had come back to the quarry in hopes of seeing Avery again, but much to his dismay, she never came, unknown to him, after meeting Damon, Avery had come face to face with Katherine Pierce, the women who her aunt was connected to her, and before she could realise it, Avery's heart was ripped out.

"Are we actually going to leave her in the car?" Aria asked, as her, Kol and Damon got out of the car.

"The only time she shuts up is when she's sleeping I don't wanna disturb our peace and quiet" Damon replied.

Aria looked at the bar, it was the exact bar that was in her dream.

"You okay?" Kol asked Aria.

"This bar looks exactly like the one in my dream, it makes me very anxious" Aria replied.

"Come Ria, let's go see what drew you to this bar" Damon asked, lacing his fingers with Aria, and with that the trio entered the bar.

"Can I get you something?" The bartender asked.

"Yeap" Kol replied, starting to compel the girl, "What the hell happened to your neck?".

"Some sicko attacked me, he bit me, told me to run, so I did, and when I looked back, he was on fire".

"That has to be Stefan" Aria whispered.

"And then what happened?" Damon asked.

"Some women shoved him into a truck, drove away".

"Did you recognise the woman?" Kol asked.

"No, she was driving Cam Peterson's truck, he lives about ten mile down that dirt road out back, here" the bartender said, pouring three shots, "You three look like you could use one of those".

"Pass" Aria said.

Damon and Kol shrugged, they grabbed the shots and downed it, only to then fall into a coughing fit.

"Vervain" Damon coughed out.

"What the hell did you do?" Aria snapped.

"I told her to pour all three of you a drink or I'd kill her" Nadia said, coming over and pointing a gun at Aria, making both Damon and Kol anxious.

"Who the hell are you?" Damon asked confused, just as Katherine entered the bar.

"I'm looking for Katherine Pierce" Nadia replied.

"Well, she's right there, have at it" Kol said.

Katherine looked between the trio in shock, and before anyone could realise, she took off running, causing Nadia to speed after her.

"So, anyone going after her?" Aria asked, when no one made an effort to go after Katherine.

"No" Kol replied, "If Damien wants us to keep her away from Silas, he can do that himself, she makes me want to stake myself".

"Fine by me" Aria said, "Now excuse me, I need to pee, my bladder is honestly a joke now".

"Go ahead, we need to recover" Kol said.

"Don't get drunk" Aria warned, "If I can't drink, so can't you".

"You except us to stay sober for nine months?" Kol asked shocked.

"Yes" Aria replied, walking over to the bathroom.

"Did you hear that?" Kol asked.

Damon shrugged, "You want to argue with a pregnant tribrid?".

"No" Kol mumbled, making Damon chuckle.

Five year old Aria Connor, was at the park, chasing after her two best friends Caroline Forbes and Elena Gilbert, when suddenly her foot got stuck somewhere, causing her to fall down and injure herself.

"Are you okay?" A eight year old Dean Avery asked, running over to Aria after seeing her fall down.

"Hurt" Aria cried.

"Can I see?" Dean asked, "I can make it better".

"How?" Aria asked confused.

"That's a secret" Dean said, kneeling by Aria, he slowly grabbed her knee and realised she was bleeding.

"Blood" Aria cried.

"Hey, it's okay" Dean said, "I have Simpson bandages, I can make it better".

"It will hurt" Aria cried.

"Hold my hand, okay?" Dean said, grabbing Aria's hand, "When it hurts, just squeeze my hand".

"I don't want to hurt you" Aria whispered.

"You won't hurt me, I'm strong" Dean said.

"Promise?" Aria asked.

"Promise" Dean assured.

"Okay" Aria said.

Before Dean could put the bandage over Aria's knee, his seven year old brother Tom, ran over to him and pushed him away from Aria.

"I want to help!" Tom yelled.

"Tom--".

"No!" Tom yelled, "Let me help her".

Dean sighed, "Fine" he said, handing Tom the bandages, "But be careful".

Tom turned to Aria, "No!" Aria cried, moving away from Tom, "He help, not you".

"But I'm better then him" Tom said.

"No!" Aria said, shaking her head, she turned to Dean, who was looking at Aria with a small smile on his face, "Please help".

"Aria!" Caroline yelled, running over to Aria with Elena, "Are you okay?".

"Care, tell him to help me, I don't want the other one" Aria whispered, not realising the brothers could hear her.

"If I can't help you then I won't let Dean help you either" Tom said stubbornly.

"Tom, stop" Dean said.

"No!" Tom yelled, causing Aria to flinch.

"Tom, you're scaring her" Dean said.

"I'm helping, not you!" Tom yelled.

"Aria, just let Tom help you, forget Dean" Elena said.

"No" Aria cried, "His mean, and loud, he pushed his brother, that's not nice".

Caroline sighed, she turned to Tom, who was glaring at Aria, "Let your brother help her".

"No!" Tom yelled, making Aria cry even harder.

"Listen, I will break your teeth if you scare my best friend" Caroline threatened.

"I will tell my mom" Tom threatened.

"Oh boo ho, I'm so scared" Caroline said sarcastically.

While Tom and Caroline were arguing, Dean walked over to Aria, he gently grabbed her hand and slowly made her stand, and without anyone realising, took her away from the argument.

"His my brother, he will do what I say!" Tom yelled, pushing Caroline to the ground.

"Oh no you didn't" Caroline yelled, standing up, and pulling Tom's hair.

"Caroline!" Elena yelled shocked.

"Caroline!" Amelia Connor yelled, running over to her second daughter and separating her from Tom.

"No Amelia Mom, let me go, he scared Aria!" Caroline yelled, trashing in Amelia's grip.

"Shh, calm down baby, it's okay" Amelia said, "Tell me where's Aria".

"If I tell you where Aria is then he will follow us" Caroline said, glaring at Tom who Elena was helping.

"Elena stay with him, and don't let him follow us" Amelia said, "Caroline, now take me to Aria".

Caroline glared at Tom, "If you follow us, I will break your legs".

"Caroline" Amelia warned.

"Come" Caroline said, holding Amelia's hand and taking her toward a huge tree.

"Caroline, where are you taking me?" Amelia asked.

"Shh, watch" Caroline replied, pointing behind the tree, where Dean and Aria were.

Dean had bandaged Aria's knee, and now Dean and Aria were sitting together, laughing at the stupid jokes Dean was telling Aria to make her feel better.

"They're going to get married" Caroline whispered to Amelia, making her laugh.

"Come on, let's leave them be for now" Amelia said, picking Caroline up, "How about some ice cream?".

"Can we buy some for Aria and Dean?" Caroline asked.

"Of course baby" Amelia said, kissing Caroline's cheek.

"Is this it?" Aria asked pointing to the old cabin.

"According to the bartender" Kol replied.

"Okay, let's go in then" Aria said, opening the door to the cabin.

As soon as the trio entered the cabin, they saw Stefan captured there.

"Wonderful" Kol said sarcastically, "This is who your dreams led to?".

"That's not right" Aria mumbled, not knowing why her dreams would lead her to Stefan.

"What the hell is going on here?" Damon asked Stefan.

"Well, Adriana's best friend decided to come back from the other side" Stefan replied.

"Qetsiyah?" Aria asked shocked, "Oh my god, my dream was me leading to her, not you".

"Correct" Qetsiyah said, walking over to Aria, "It's nice to see you again Aria".

"You led me here" Aria realised.

"Thank you for coming, I need yours and your soulmates help" Qetsiyah said.

"With what?" Aria asked confused.

"I need to link Stefan and Silas, I can't do that without your boyfriend's help" Qetsiyah replied.

"Why do you need Damon if you want to link Stefan and Silas?" Kol asked confused.

"Damon is also connected to Silas, I need both him and Stefan" Qetsiyah replied.

"How can we trust you?" Aria asked, without realising placing her hands on her stomach in a protective manner.

Qetsiyah smiled at Aria's movement, "Don't worry Aria, I will not harm your child, I will never harm anyone that is related to Adriana".

"But you will harm someone that is related to Damien" Aria retorted.

"You're pregnant?" Stefan asked shocked.

"Read the room" Kol snapped.

Qetsiyah sighed, "What I did to Damien two thousand year ago, that was my mistake, I didn't know the truth about Adriana's death, and when I found out the truth, it was too late, I was already dead and couldn't fix my mistake, I should've known better then to doubt that man's love for my best friend".

Aria nodded, believing Qetsiyah, she then turned to Damon, "It's your choice".

"Don't worry, nothing will happen to you, your brother on the other hand I can't say the same" Qetsiyah said.

Damon sighed, "What will this spell do to Silas?".

"Remove his psychic abilities" Qetsiyah replied.

"And what will it do to Stefan and Damon?" Kol asked.

"To Damon? Nothing" Qetsiyah replied, "He will just see visions of the other soulmates, Stefan on the other hand, will lose his memory".

"I'm in" Damon said.

"Really?" Aria asked shocked.

"If Stefan forgets about you, then I'm in" Damon replied.

"Right here" Stefan snapped.

"No one cares" Kol snapped back.

"Step in the circle and sit on the chair" Qetsiyah told Damon.

"Wait" Aria said, holding Damon's hand, "Damon, if something happens--".

"Nothing will happen" Damon assured, "That women brought you back to life, surely that means she somewhat trustworthy", Damon kissed Aria's forehead, "Wait for me?".

Aria nodded, "Come back to me".

"Always" Damon whispered, stepping in the circle, while Aria stood next to Kol.

Qetsiyah placed one hand on Stefan's head, while placing the other on Damon's.

"Be careful" Aria told Qetsiyah, "I'd really like my child to meet it's father".

"Don't worry, they will meet him" Qetsiyah assured.

Qetsiyah started chanting, causing both Stefan and Damon to yell in pain, suddenly a million pictures started coming infront of Damon's eyes, he saw Damien and Adriana, Ariana and Dallas, him and Avery, he even saw Aria and Dean.

Aria hid herself in Kol's arms, not being able to see Damon in pain, she really had to restrain herself from pushing Qetsiyah away from Damon.

"What the hell are you doing?" Kol asked.

"Using Stefan and Damon to fry Silas's fry brain" Qetsiyah replied, "No one said it would be pretty", after a few moments, Qetsiyah finally stopped chanting, "We're done, it worked".

"Damon" Aria said, running over to her boyfriend, "You okay? Please tell me you're okay".

"I'm okay" Damon breathed out, "I'm okay".

"It's you two, you know" Qetsiyah said.

"What?" Aria asked.

"You and Damon, are the ones who are going to break the curse on Adriana and Damien's bloodlines" Qetsiyah said, "You both found each other, even when you were never supposed to, you have the whole universe on your side, you know there was one thing that was worse then being on the other side".

"Which was what?" Kol asked.

"Century after century, watching versions of Adriana and Damien, find each other, only to then get brutally separated because of my mistake" Qetsiyah replied.

"Not your mistake" Aria assured, "It was Silas and Amara, one who you already punished, the other who I will help you punish".

Qetsiyah smiled, "You know, out of all her doppelgangers, you're the most like Adriana, and I wanted to apologise to you, on my descendant's behalf".

"Bonnie's?" Aria asked confused.

Qetsiyah nodded, "Bennett witches were always meant to protect Connor witches and vice versa, but somewhere along the line, my descendants lost their mind, and started going against you guys".

"Not all of your descendants were bad, some like Emily and Grams, they always protected Connor witches" Aria said.

Qetsiyah smiled, "You three should go, Stefan's ex girlfriend should be coming to retrieve him, it's better she doesn't see you guys here".

Aria nodded, "Will we see you again?".

"I'm here until I defeat Silas and make Damien finds his way back to Adriana" Qetsiyah replied.

Aria smiled, "Awesome".

"Well, as wholesome as this was" Damon said, standing up, "We're leaving".

"See you soon Aria" Qetsiyah said.

"See you soon Qetsiyah" Aria said.

"You got my best friend pregnant?!" Klaus yelled through the phone, making both Aria and Kol laugh.

Currently, Damon, Aria and Kol, sat on Aria and Damon's shared bed, on a three way video call with Caroline and Rebekah, who were at Whitmore, and Elijah and Klaus who were in New Orleans.

"Is it a boy or girl?" Elijah asked.

"We don't know yet, but I think it's a boy" Aria replied.

"It's a girl" Damon said.

"Agreed" Kol said.

"Me to" Caroline interjected.

"No, it's a boy" Klaus said.

"I'm with Niklaus on that one" Elijah said.

"I think it's twins" Rebekah interjected.

"Twin girls, even better" Damon said.

"Shut up" Aria said.

"Klaus and Elijah, when Aria is 20 weeks pregnant you have to come for her gender reveal party, and then when she's eight months pregnant, you have to come to her baby shower, clear?" Caroline asked.

"Of course love, we wouldn't miss it for the world" Klaus replied.

"Me and Caroline already started planning everything" Rebekah said.

"Me and Jeremy have already started decorating the baby's room" Kol informed.

"For the gender reveal, we should hire a plane" Klaus said.

"Excuse me?" Aria asked.

"Sounds lovely, let the whole world know a tribrid baby is being born" Elijah said sarcastically.

"I don't see you coming up with any better ideas" Klaus retorted.

And with that, the group of seven spent hours talking about the future Salvatore baby.
