06. Handle With Care

Damon and Aria laid on the couch, with Aria's back on Damon's chest, and Damon's hands around her stomach.

"They're growing" Damon said, kissing Aria's head.

"Mm" Aria mumbled, her eyes closed.

"Sleepy?" Damon asked.

"Extremely" Aria mumbled, "Your babies are making my favorite hobby, nearly impossible".

"Sleeping isn't an hobby Ria" Damon said amused.

"It is to me" Aria said, lacing her fingers with Damon's, "I like this".

"Me to" Damon whispered.

"We don't get much peaceful moments, we need to cherish this to the maximum" Aria whispered.

"But you're forgetting it is our life" Damon reminded, "Which probably means something's gonna walk through that door and shatter this peace".

"Don't you dare jinx it, Salvatore" Aria warned.

"In ten, nine--".

"Zip it" Aria said.

"Six, five--".

"Damon, today is the day we lift the curse off of our bloodlines, today is a good day" Aria interrupted, "Nothing is going to ruin today".

Damon kissed Aria's head, "Three, two--".

"Keep counting, nothing's gonna happen" Aria said.

Just as Aria said that, the front door opened and in came Silas and Elena, making Aria glare at Damon, who just smiled at her.

"Greetings" Silas said.

"One" Damon whispered into Aria's ear.

"No" Aria groaned.

"Good morning, frenemies" Silas said, using his magic to open the curtains.

"Damien!" Aria yelled, "Your psychopathic brother is here!".

"Ouch" Silas said, "Don't worry Aria, I'll let that one go, since you and your little gang are the reason as to why I'm a witch again".

"I didn't do it for you" Aria snapped, sitting up.

"I know" Silas said, "But you know what, I'm only a few hours into my old life was a witch but somehow the sun feels warmer, probably because I'm not cursed with having to outlive it anymore".

"Oh bloody hell" Kol mumbled, walking down the stairs, from the looks of it, it seems like he had just woken up, "What the hell is that doing here?".

"Where's Damien?" Aria asked.

"Sleeping" Kol replied.

"Actually, I'm awake" Damien said, coming behind Kol.

"Your brother is here" Kol informed.

"Not my brother" Damien snapped.

"Ouch" Silas said, really not caring about his brother's words, "Anyways, after 2000 years of a miserable existence, I finally get to die".

"We know you guys know where the anchor is" Elena said, "We want to team up with you".

"Not happening" Aria snapped.

"What she said" Kol said.

"Oh come on Damien, let me help you find the anchor, you know right, if one of us dies, both of us do, there's no point in being in two different teams now" Silas said.

Damien sighed, "Fine, but only till we find the anchor, after that, I'm going to die before you".

"We will see" Silas said.

Kol looked between Silas and Damien, "Wonderful, now we have to people fighting to see who is going to die first, can life get any weirder?".

"We all know that Tessa was real vengeful bitch" Silas said, he turned to Elena, "Your doppelganger, Amara, died at her hands".

 "Because you both killed Adriana" Damien snapped

"It was so I could be with Adriana forever" Silas snapped back.

"Not happening" Damien snapped, "I'm going to reunite with Adriana, not you".

"You know, in all this, I'm glad Damien finally is ready to reunite with Adriana" Aria told Damon and Kol.

"Yeah, it definitely has nothing to do with the lecture you gave him last night" Damon teased, talking about the one hour lecture Aria gave Damien about how Adriana was suffering without him, and about how much a soulmate needed their other half.

"He needed it" Aria defended.

"All right" Damon said, interrupting the brothers, "Look, my girl and my mortal enemy over there are trying to have a good day".

"He means his best friend" Aria corrected, making both Kol and Damon glare at her, "What?".

"Shut up" Kol said.

"Deny it all you want, but you both are now used to each other" Aria whispered to Kol.

"Like I said, shut up Ri" Kol said, handing Aria an chocolate, "Eat this and keep quiet".

"Gladly" Aria said, happily munching on her chocolate.

Damon shook his head at his girlfriend, he then turned to the equally amused brothers, "How is this all gonna go down anyways?".

"We're going to destroy the other side" Damien replied simply.

"But you're going bring Bonnie back before you die, right?" Elena asked Silas.

"Before I die, I'll bring Bonnie back" Silas replied, making both Kol and Aria exchange a look, "And being the amazing and incredible and all-powerful witch that I am I can totally do both, we just have to find the anchor and destroy it".

"Unless of course, I kill myself before he can that do, killing not only myself but also him" Damien interjected, making Elena glare at him.

"Please do" Kol said.

"The anchor?" Elena asked confused.

"Stupid" Aria mumbled, making Damon and Kol chuckle.

"It's the objects Qetsiyah used to bind the spell when she created the other side" Silas replied.

"Objects?" Aria asked confused, "As in two things".

Damien nodded, "When need to find two things, the anchor and the thing that is keeping the anchor working this whole time".

"The anchor is linked to something" Aria realised.

"Correct" Damien said, "For the other side to exist, the anchor needed to be linked to something powerful, something that will last forever, something that can keep the anchor going, which in turn keeps the other side safe".

"So where is this anchor again?" Kol asked, "Cause you never told us".

"New Jersey" Damien replied.

"New Jersey?" Damon asked shocked, "The supernatural other world is bound by two objects in Snooki's backyard?".

"A stockyard actually" Damien replied, "And it's going to get shipped off if we don't hurry".

"Hello, hunter" Silas greeted, as Jeremy entered the room, pointing his crossbow at Elena and Silas.

"Jer--".

"Don't talk" Jeremy warned Elena, "Or I will shoot you".

"Jer, as much as I hate saying this, just for today, we're all unfortunately on the same team" Aria said.

"A.k.a. put the damn crossbow down, Pocahontas" Damon said.

"Or shoot your ex-sister right in the head" Kol said, "Either option is fine by us".

"Stop corrupting my brother" Elena snapped.

"Not your brother" Jeremy snapped, causing Elena to frown.

"You know, guys, I'm feeling really ganged up on right now" Silas said, "Okay? I would hate to lose my temper and do something--", Silas lit fire on his fingers, "--crazy".

Damien rolled his eyes, he used his magic to stop Silas's fire.

"Buzzkill" Silas mumbled.

"Gotta love magic" Damien said, using his magic to give Silas an aneurysm.

"Can we go now?" Aria asked, interrupting Silas and Damien, "I'd really like to get to New Jersey before nightfall".

"Aria, doesn't magic make you feel like you're constantly reinventing yourself?" Silas asked, causing Aria to roll her eyes.

"Seriously?" Aria asked.

"I'm like a supernatural Madonna, don't you think?" Silas asked.

"No" Aria replied simply, giving Silas a mock smile.

"Pregnancy has definitely made you grumpy" Silas commented.

"What?!" Elena asked shocked.

"Die" Aria snapped at Silas.

"Don't worry, I will soon" Silas said, giving Aria a smug smile.

"You're pregnant?" Elena asked Aria.

"Yes Elena" Aria snapped, "Me and Damon are having a baby, now, can we please go?!".

"She's right, we gotta get going, you" Silas pointed at Jeremy, "Grab a crowbar or four from the garage".

"What for?" Jeremy asked confused.

"Does it matter?" Silas asked.

"This road trip is going to be a nightmare" Aria mumbled.

"You" Damien pointed to Elena, "Are not coming, useful people only".

"Are you serious?" Elena asked shocked, she turned to Silas, "He's not serious".

"His very serious" Silas replied, "My brother doesn't know how to joke".

"You're a freaky carbon copy of the women who killed the love of my life" Damien snapped, "I don't want to stare at your stupid, ugly face, all day".

"I'm going" Elena said stubbornly.

Aria rolled her eyes, she simply used her magic and snapped Elena's neck, making all the guys to look at her amused, "Now, can we go?".

"Knock-knock" Silas said, sitting in the back seat with his brother, while Damon drove and Aria sat in the passenger seat, Kol and Jeremy in another car behind them, "Knock-knock, who's there? The mayor, the mayor who?".

"Well, who?" Damon asked, knowing Silas won't shut up until he asked.

"No one, that's the joke, no one's there because I killed the mayor" Silas replied.

"Why do Kol and Jeremy get to travel in another car?" Aria asked, not wanting to be in the same car as Silas.

"Because by the time we reach the place, Kol would have murdered Silas" Damon replied.

"I don't see anything bad there" Damien said.

"Except the fact that if I die, you die" Silas reminded.

"Again, not seeing anything bad there" Damien said, glaring at his brother.

"I should have taken Jeremy's offer of swapping with him" Aria mumbled.

"You really hate me, don't you?" Silas asked.

"I don't like people who can't accept the fact that the women they love isn't their soulmate, but is someone else's" Aria replied.

"I'm not having this conversation with you" Silas snapped.

"I see it's in your bloodline to deflect" Aria taunted, making both Damon and Damien chuckle.

"Finally" Aria said, as they arrived at the warehouse and Aria finally got the chance to stretch her legs.

"How do you do it Silas?" Damien asked, stepping out the car, as Kol and Jeremy also pulled out, "How do you dream about reuniting with Adriana despite knowing she's my soulmate?".

"Soulmates can change" Silas replied.

"Do you not notice the universe's mission in making every version of me and Adriana unite?" Damien asked, "While every version of you is left in the dust?".

Kol rolled his eyes at the brothers, he stepped forward and broke the handle of the warehouse in which the anchor was in, "You both coming, or are we going to witness both of you being petty all day?".

"Let's get this over and done with" Aria said, entering the warehouse.

"Okay, where is this stupid anchor thing?" Jeremy asked.

"And how do we find the thing it's linked to?" Aria asked.

"I have no idea" Silas replied.

"If we find the anchor, the thing it's linked to will be right next to it" Damien informed.

"Do you know what the anchor looks like?" Kol asked Damien.

"No idea" Damien replied.

"What do you mean you have no idea?" Damon asked.

"Listen, I dived into Qetsiyah's mind to find this warehouse, otherwise we would have been searching everywhere, so give me some credit" Damien replied.

"Do any of you know what the anchor looks like?" Aria asked.

"No" Damien and Silas replied.

"Tessa created it after she locked me and Damien away in a tomb for 2000 years and left us to starve, remember? Remote island, creepy hallucinations?" Silas asked.

"So, we don't know where it is or what it looks like?" Kol asked annoyed.

"It binds the spell to a supernatural hell dimension" Damien replied, "It's not going to be a normal object, just look for anything that looks magical to you".

"Well then people, let's get to it" Aria said, handing Jeremy a crowbar, "We have a long day ahead of us".

"Quit dawdling, we need to find this thing before the Travelers show up" Silas snapped.

"I'm tired" Aria complained, sitting on top of a box.

"You hardly did anything" Silas said.

"My feet are swollen dickhead, I can't stand for long" Aria snapped.

"That's what you get for getting pregnant" Silas taunted.

"I hope you die a very painful death" Aria said.

"Why are the travelers interested in this anchor?" Damon asked, diverting Silas's attention from Aria.

"They hate us for creating a immortality spell" Damien replied, "And they know the anchor is the only thing that's standing between me and my soulmate, and what love story is complete without someone getting in the way, kind of like you, Silas".

"Don't forget Damien, it wasn't me who took Adriana's life" Silas taunted.

"No, you were just the one who brought her to the brink of death" Damien snapped.

Suddenly, Aria's phone started ringing, "Help" Aria told Damon.

Damon put his hands on Aria's waist and helped her down the box she was sitting on.

"Where are you going?" Jeremy asked.

"Grabbing chocolate from the car and answering whoever is calling me" Aria replied.

"Bring me some!" Jeremy yelled.

"Fine!" Aria yelled back, answering her phone, "Hello?".

"You have to stop him, Aria".

"Qetsiyah?" Aria asked confused.

"You have to stop Damien from finding the anchor" Qetsiyah said, panic evident in her voice.

"Qetsiyah, what's going on?" Aria asked confused.

"I can't get there Aria, Silas put a spell on this house and bound it to the sun which means I'm trapped here until sundown" Qetsiyah replied, "You have to stop Damien".

"Why will I do that?" Aria asked.

"Aria, there's something I didn't tell you, something even Damien doesn't know" Qetsiyah replied.

"What?" Aria asked curiously.

"I never killed Amara" Qetsiyah revealed.

"What?!" Aria asked shocked.

"I wanted her to suffer for what she did to Adriana, I wanted her to watch every version of Damien and Adriana unite, while every version of her and Silas suffered" Qetsiyah replied.

"What did you do Qetsiyah?" Aria asked, suddenly very worried.

"The anchor to the other side isn't a object Aria, it's a person" Qetsiyah revealed, "It's Amara".

"Oh my god" Aria whispered shocked.

"That's not all" Qetsiyah said.

"There's more?" Aria asked shocked.

"After I trapped Damien and Silas, I tried to bring Adriana back, and I succeeded to a extent" Qetsiyah informed.

"Adriana's alive?" Aria asked shocked.

"I brought Adriana's soul back, but in order for her to wake up, she needed her soulmates blood" Qetsiyah revealed.

"Damien's blood" Aria realised.

"Yes" Qetsiyah confirmed, "But before I could use Damien's blood, the travelers found out what I did, so they killed me".

"What happened to Adriana?" Aria asked confused.

"The travelers realised that a human was the anchor so they needed to link Amara to something powerful, someone powerful, so after a few years the other side doesn't collapse" Qetsiyah reminded, "And whose more powerful then the first ever tribrid?".

"Amara and Adriana are linked to each other" Aria realised, "Just like Silas and Damien".

"If Damien feeds Adriana his blood, he will also be waking Amara up, and I can't have that" Qetsiyah said.

"Isn't there a way to break the link between Adriana and Amara?" Aria asked.

"I'm working on it, but I need more time" Qetsiyah replied.

"I can't stop Damien, it's not fair, he and Adriana have been away from each other for two thousand years, it's not right to keep them away any longer" Aria said.

"If Adriana wakes up and sees Amara and Silas, how do you think she's going to react?" Qetsiyah asked, "She doesn't deserve anymore suffering".

"I know that, but imagine the happiness she will feel after reuniting with Damien" Aria said, "We have to let Damien wake her up, after that I will help you break the link between Silas and Damien, and Adriana and Amara, and then you can kill Silas and Amara, and Damien and Adriana can have their happily ever after".

"I just--I don't want my best friend to suffer seeing the people who caused her so much misery, alive and healthy" Qetsiyah said, "I don't want her to think her best friend didn't take revenge for her death".

"Adriana will understand" Aria assured, "But she won't understand you stopping her soulmate from reuniting with her".

Qetsiyah paused for a moment, "Fine, let Damien wake Adriana up".

Aria smiled, "I'll call you once Adriana's woken up".

Aria entered the warehouse, looking for Damien, but before she could a guy came and blocked her way, confusing her.

"Who are you?" Aria asked.

The guy said something in a foreign language, confusing Aria even more.

"I have absolutely no idea what you're saying" Aria said, just as another guy came behind her, "I'm going to go on a limb here and say you guys are travelers".

Both the guys said nothing, instead started chanting.

"Alright, I don't have time for this" Aria said, before the travelers could complete their spell, Aria used her magic to rip both the travelers hearts out.

"Damon!" Aria yelled, running over to Damon, Kol and Jeremy.

"Careful" Damon said, holding Aria.

"Where were you?" Jeremy asked.

"Dealing with some travelers" Aria replied.

"Did they hurt you?" Damon asked, checking Aria for any injuries.

"I'm fine, before they could hurt me, I kind of ripped their hearts out" Aria replied, feeling a bit guilty.

"Good, if you hadn't done it, I would have" Kol said.

"Guys, forget all this" Aria said, "Qetsiyah called me".

"Qetsiyah?" Damon asked confused, "Why did she call you?".

"She told me something about Adriana" Aria replied.

"What about her?" Jeremy asked.

"Adriana is alive, kind of" Aria revealed, shocking the three guys.

As Damien was passing a huge wooden box, something in him caused him to stop, he looked towards the box in confusion, all of a sudden Damien felt a sensation go through him, a sensation he hadn't felt since he lost Adriana, Damien slowly walked over to the box, using the crowbar, Damien pried open the box, removing all the hay, Damien was shocked seeing the two girls in the box.

"Adriana" Damien whispered shocked, "You're still alive".

"Barely" Aria said, walking over to Damien, with Damon, Kol and Jeremy, "After you ended her pain, Qetsiyah brought her back, but not fully, for her to fully come back she needs her soulmates blood".

"Give me a knife" Damien said immediately.

"Before you bring her back, you need to know something" Aria said, "The travelers didn't just link you and Silas together".

"What?" Damien asked confused.

"Adriana is linked to Amara" Aria replied, "If you bring Adriana back, you will be bringing Amara back to".

"I don't care" Damien said, grabbing a rock from the floor and making a cut in his hand.

"Ri, we are forgetting something" Kol whispered to Aria, as Damien made Adriana drink his blood.

"What?" Aria asked.

"Damien's blood is the cure" Kol replied.

"Adriana's going to turn human" Aria realised, as the grey skin on both Adriana and Amara started disappearing, "They both are, just like Silas and Damien".

"Adriana" Damien whispered, "Open your eyes, please, it's me, your Damien".

Suddenly, Adriana gasped and opened her eyes in shock.

"Damien" Adriana whispered, nearly falling down, but before she could, Damien steadied her, "Is it you? Is it really you?".

"It's me" Damien whispered, "It's really me".

"They're everywhere" Adriana cried, "They're everywhere Damien, please make them go away".

"It's okay" Damien assured, "I'm here, I won't let anyone hurt you ever again".

Adriana lunged forward and hugged Damien, sobbing loudly, "Why didn't you come to me sooner?" she cried, "I waited so long".

"I'm sorry" Damien cried, "I'm so sorry, but I'm here now, and I promise I will never leave you again".

While Damien and Adriana were having their moment, Damon and Aria looked at each other, without saying anything they laced their fingers together.

"Adriana".

Damien and Adriana broke their hug, "No" Adriana whispered, "No".

"Adriana--", as soon as Silas took a step towards Adriana, she hid behind Damien.

"His going to hurt me Damien" Adriana cried, clutching Damien's shirt tightly, "Don't let him hurt me please".

"I won't hurt you" Silas whispered, hurt with the fact that Adriana was so scared of him.

"You will, you have" Adriana whispered, still hiding behind Damien.

"I love you Adriana" Silas said.

"No" Adriana whispered, shaking her head rapidly, "Stay away from me, Damien please don't let him come near me, he will kill me".

"Shh, it's okay" Damien said, wiping Adriana's tears, "I'm here, I won't let him hurt you".

"Don't leave me this time" Adriana pleaded.

"I'd rather die" Damien said, placing a kiss on Adriana's forehead.

"Damien?".

"Oh bloody hell" Kol said, finally seeing Amara.

Adriana looked at Amara and Silas, "No" she whispered, shaking with fear, "No!".

"Adriana, calm down" Damien said.

"They're going to kill me!" Adriana yelled.

"No one's going to hurt you" Damien promised.

"They will!" Adriana yelled, "They will try to separate us again, and they won't stop until we are separated!".

"Adriana, listen to me" Damien said, "This time it's different my love, this time no one, not even those two will separate us".

Aria looked towards Silas, who was now supporting Amara, as she couldn't stand properly, from the looks of it, she could tell Silas was close to attacking his brother, and just as Silas lunged forward, Aria speeded between him, and Damien and Adriana, using her magic, Aria rendered Silas unconscious.

"Oh my god" Amara whispered, shocked seeing Aria's face, but before she could say anything else, Aria used her magic to render Amara unconscious as well.

Aria turned around and faced Damien and Adriana, "There, now they won't hurt you".

Adriana looked at Aria in shock, "You--your face--".

"Yeah, I'm your doppelganger" Aria said, "My name is Aria, it's really nice to meet you", Aria pointed to Damon, Kol and Jeremy, "And that's Damon, Kol and Jeremy".

Adriana looked at Damon in shock, she slowly walked over to him and stared at his face, "You look exactly like Damien" she whispered.

Damien walked over to Adriana, "Aria and Damon are our doppelgangers, them and many others were created by the universe to complete our incomplete love story".

Adriana looked between Aria and Damon, her eyes then landed on Aria's stomach, "Is that--?".

"Mine and Damon's" Aria replied, placing her hands on her stomach.

Adriana looked at Damien, "They broke it? They broke the curse?".

Damien nodded, "They broke the curse".

"As much as I would love to continue this conversation, we should get going before those two wake up" Kol said, gesturing to the unconscious Silas and Amara.

"And before more travelers come and attack my pregnant girlfriend" Damon said.

"Come on" Damien said, holding Adriana, "Let's get you somewhere safe".

Adriana nodded, after glancing at Silas and Amara one last time, she walked away with Damien, with Kol and Jeremy following behind, while Damon and Aria stayed back.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Damon asked.

"Could you imagine, you and I, staying away from each for two thousand years?" Aria asked, "Damon, just the thought makes my skin crawl".

"We're not them Ria" Damon reminded.

"I know, trust me I know" Aria said, "Promise me something?".

"Anything" Damon said.

"Never leave me" Aria said, "Don't even let the thought of leaving me cross your mind, because if I lose you, I think I'll lose myself".

Damon cupped Aria's face, "Ria, I will never leave you, not on purpose anyways, you and I we have our whole life ahead of us, you, me and our kids, I've already imagined the kind of future we are going to have".

"Yeah?" Aria asked, tears in her eyes.

"Yeah" Damon replied, "You're going to be a writer, and I'm going to own a bar, and we're going to live in a huge house with our kids, outside of Mystic Falls".

"We're not raising our kids in Mystic Falls?" Aria asked.

"Definitely not" Damon replied, lacing his finger's with Aria's, and they both started making their way outside, "Who knows when another doppelganger loses their mind and decides to attack us".

"True" Aria said, "You know, our kids, are going to be the most loved and protected kids ever, they obviously are going to have you and me, they will also have the Mikaelson's protecting them, even Jeremy, Mom and Caroline will be with them, I don't think anyone will be able to hurt them".

"Good" Damon said, "Because if anyone even thinks about hurting them, I will rip their hearts out".

Aria laughed, "You're unbelievable".

"I know" Damon said, kissing Aria's hand.
