07. Mommie Dearest

Five Years From Now,

"Twenty-three minutes left" Kol reminded, causing Damon to press harder on the accelerator.

"Just enough time for me to get in, take out Little Miss Stabbypants and grab Aria and Caroline" Damon said.

"That's an awful plan" Kol snapped.

"It's simple, it's classic, come on" Damon defended.

"Damon, look at the X on your chest, this isn't a game, this is a trap, set specially for you" Kol retorted.

"I know it's a trap, but I'm not sitting this one out" Damon snapped.

"Neither am I" Kol said, "I didn't call the triplets babysitter on a thirty seconds notice to not go and rescue their mother".

"One of us is already marked, Kol" Damon reminded, "Don't make it two of us".

"Turn!" Kol yelled suddenly, causing Damon to take a sharp right turn towards the broadcasting studio.

"Alright, let's do this" Damon said.

"Stop" Kol said, stopping Damon from getting out of the car, "You're not going in there".

Damon looked at Kol as if he grew another head, "Excuse me?" he asked.

"She doesn't want to kill Aria or Caroline, Damon, she wants to kill you, if your dumbass goes in there, your dead meat" Kol replied.

"It's Aria, Kol" Damon argued.

"Exactly, Damon" Kol said, "It's Aria, who said she never wants to see you again".

"That doesn't apply here!" Damon yelled in frustration.

"Something tells me it does to her"  Kol said, "So, do us all a favor, for once in your life, stick to your word".

Before Damon could argue any further, Kol got out of the car and made his way into the studio. As soon as he entered the studio, Kol heard Aria's pleading voice.

"Damon, Damon, please!" Kol heard Aria cry out.

"That's odd" Kol commented, feeling something was wrong as there was no way Aria would call out to Damon like that, but nonetheless the original followed her voice.

Entering the studio, Kol looked at the scene infront of him in confusion, there was no Aria or Caroline anywhere to be found, the only thing of Aria in the studio was the recorded video that kept playing over and over again.

"Yeap, definitely a trap" Kol whispered.

Suddenly, multiple vervain darts were stabbed into Kol's back, causing him to fall to the ground, unconscious.

Present,

After receiving a call from Matt, the new and only sheriff left in Mystic Falls, Caroline, Aria and Rebekah entered Mystic Grill,  where a bunch of compelled people were placed.

"I found more at the court house, and another dozen at the supermarket" Matt informed the three vampires.

"What's with all the IVs?" Caroline asked confused.

"It's saline Care, I think it's to keep these people hydrated" Aria replied.

"Which you only use on people if you were to keep them hostage for a while" Rebekah added.

"They're using them as human blood banks" Caroline realised.

"Hey, now at least we know that the heretics definitely aren't eating turkey for thanksgiving" Rebekah said.

"If these people are human blood bags, where are the bite marks?" Aria asked confused, looking around but not finding anyone with a vampire bite on them.

"Exactly, they're not being fed on, they're being fed" Matt informed, showing the three girls boxes he found in the trash, "Found these in the trash can, there's salmon, steak, iron-rich foods, probably to boost their red blood cell count, it's like someone's fattening the cattle for the slaughter".

Hearing all of this, Rebekah suddenly started feeling nauseous, she quickly rushed to the nearest trash can and started puking, concerning both her best friends, who quickly ran over to her.

"Beks, you okay?" A worried Aria asked, rubbing Rebekah's back.

"I'm fine, I'm okay" Rebekah replied, after she was finished puking.

"You're not fine Rebekah, you just puked your guts out" Caroline pointed out.

"I think the blood bag I had last night was expired" Rebekah said, "And then all this talk about slaughtered animals just made me feel worse".

"You're an original with food poisoning?" Aria asked, not believing the girl infront of her.

"Yes Aria, I'm an original with food poisoning" Rebekah snapped, "Now let it go and look around you, we have much bigger problems then me puking, we need to figure out a way to break these peoples compulsion".

Aria and Caroline looked at each other, both sisters realised there was something they were missing here, last night after Lily's party, Rebekah had gone to check up on Alaric and Valerie and ever since then she's been acting really weird, almost likes she was hiding something from them, but what was the question.

Aria decided to let go of whatever Rebekah was hiding for now and focus on the bigger problem right now, she knew both her and Caroline will eventually get it out of Rebekah but for now they had other things to focus on.

"The only way to break their compulsion is to turn them into vampires" Caroline pointed, thinking the same thing as Aria.

"Actually that's not true" Aria said, "What if we get a certain heretic to siphon the compulsion away instead?".

"Wait, you think she will help us?" Caroline asked, realising who Aria was talking about.

"Of course she will help us" Aria said, pulling her phone out of her pocket, "I'm pretty sure I'm her favorite supernatural creature".

Caroline chuckled, "Sure Aria, whatever you say".

Aria laughed, she then clicked on someone's contact on her phone and pressed call.

"You want me to siphon the compulsion out of all these people?" Valeria asked shocked, "Do you guys have any idea how long that will take?".

"Uh, probably the amount of time that it'll take to siphon one person times the amount of people in this room" Caroline replied.

"I am all for scuttling Julian's plans, but siphoning these people won't make a difference" Valerie said, "He'll just replace them, you'd be trading one life for another", Valerie then turned to Rebekah, her eyes shifting to her stomach, "Speaking of, I can't imagine this is the safest town for someone with your status to be roaming around in".

"What the hell are you on about Valerie?" Aria asked, as her and Caroline looked between Valerie and Rebekah in confusion.

"Nothing" Rebekah replied before Valerie could, "It means nothing".

"I wouldn't call a pregnant vampire nothing" Valerie retorted.

"What?!" Aria and Caroline asked stimuteanously.

"You're pregnant?" Caroline asked Rebekah.

"How?" Aria asked, "I didn't even do the spell on you".

"I am not pregnant guys!" Rebekah yelled.

"Then what is she talking about?" Caroline asked, pointing towards Valerie.

"She's lost her mind, she convinced Alaric that the Gemini coven saved his twin babies by putting them in my stomach" Rebekah informed, "But it's not true, I mean come on, I would know if I was pregnant", Rebekah looked at Valerie, "I even did a test but it came out negative, you know what, you should be apologising to Alaric for getting his hopes up for no reason!".

"Do I need to remind you that you summoned me here for my help?" Valerie reminded, "If you don't think my talents are up to snuff, then I will gladly find other things to do with my time".

"Quit it Valerie" Aria snapped, stopping Valerie from walking away, "These people need our help, and honestly you can't blame Rebekah for acting the way she is, she's overwhelmed, give her time, in the meantime start siphoning".

"Is that how you talk to everyone who helps you?" Valerie asked.

"Look, it's been a long couple of days, please just take away their compulsion, they don't deserve to be treated like this" Aria replied.

Valerie sighed but nonetheless nodded and proceeded to siphon the compulsion away from everyone.

 ***

"You took a wrong turn and ended up in Mystic Falls" Caroline compelled a man, "Leave and forget everything that you saw here".

"All done?" Aria asked walking over to her sister, after finishing compelling everyone on her side.

"Done" Caroline replied, "Where's Rebekah?".

"In denial" Aria said, pointing to the side where Rebekah was standing.

Caroline turned and looked in the direction and both the sisters saw Rebekah looking at her stomach in the reflection of the door.

"Her dream is coming true, I don't know why she just won't accept it" Aria said.

"Because she doesn't want to get her hopes up before knowing for sure" Caroline said.

Aria nodded, "That's fair" she said, as both her and Caroline proceeded to walk over to their best friend.

"Are you hundred percent sure you don't want to talk about what Valerie told us?" Caroline told Rebekah.

Rebekah faced the two sisters, "I'm sure because there is nothing to talk about" she said.

"You puked Rebekah" Aria pointed out.

"Puking doesn't mean I'm pregnant" Rebekah argued.

"It does when we are vampires" Caroline argued, "We don't get sick Rebekah, the only time both me and Aria have puked is when we were pregnant".

Rebekah shook her head, refusing to accept the fact that she was pregnant, "I am not pregnant with Alaric's babies" she stated.

Before Aria or Caroline could say anything else, someone entering the grill caught their attention.

"Beau" Valerie greeted, standing from the table she was sitting on, siphoning the compulsion on the last group of people remaining, "I don't know what atrocities Julian has planned, but you're better than this, I know you, I'm your friend", Beau glared at Valerie, who was suddenly on the floor, clutching her head in pain, "Beau, Julian is evil, he doesn't care about our family" Valerie cried, "He only cares about himself".

Aria, stood infront of both Caroline and Rebekah, and using her magic she flung Beau into the wall, stopping his magic on Valerie.

"Go!" Aria yelled to Caroline and Rebekah, "Take everyone out of here, now!".

Rebekah and Caroline quickly proceeded to take the remaining humans out of the Grill, Aria turned to follow, but before she could, Beau, who had quickly recovered, used his magic to give her an aneurism, causing her to clutch her head in pain and fall to the floor.

While she was on the the floor, Aria's eyes landed on a wooden stake on the floor, ignoring her pain, she used her magic to shove the stake into Beau's stomach.

"Invisique" Aria mumbled.

Beau watched in anger as Aria's spell caused both her and Valerie to disappear from his eye sight.

After rescuing Valerie from Beau, Aria and Caroline ended up talking to Rebekah, and convincing her to go visit the doctors instead of just relying on a test, not just for herself but also for Alaric, which is how Rebekah, Caroline, Aria and Alaric ended up at the gynecologist's office.

"How far along are you?" the gynecologist asked Rebekah and Alaric, while starting to do an ultrasound on Rebekah's stomach.

"Uh, I'm not really sure how to answer that" an awkward Alaric admitted.

"Okay, let's see what we can see".

Rebekah sighed and leaned back on to the pillow while the doctor did her work.

After a moment the doctor asked, "And you're certain that you're pregnant?".

"Why?" A worried Caroline asked.

"Is everything okay?" Aria asked.

"Well it's just I'm not seeing one baby, let alone two" the doctor informed.

"And you're absolutely sure?" Rebekah asked, while Aria looked at Alaric in worry.

"Twins would be hard to miss, not hearing any heartbeats either, I'm sorry if you were informed otherwise, I'll give you some time alone".

Rebekah looked at Alaric, "Ric, I'm so sorry".

"No, I'm sorry" Alaric apologised, "I've been so desperate to believe this was actually possible, I am really sorry that I put you through all this".

"For a second, I started believing it as well" Rebekah admitted.

"I saw the doctor leave" Valarie said, entering the room.

"She just told us that you were wrong" Caroline said, glaring at Valerie, she hated that she gave both Alaric and Rebekah false hope.

"Are you sure about that?" Valerie asked, walking over to Rebekah and putting her hand over her stomach.

"What the hell are you doing?" Aria asked confused, as Valerie started siphoning.

"Oh my god" Rebekah whispered, suddenly feeling very different.

Aria and Caroline exchanged a confused look among them, Aria then walked over to Rebekah, she grabbed the ultrasound tool.

"Aria, I'm not sure you're qualified--".

"Just let her" Valerie interrupted Alaric, "You know it never made any sense to me, my spell pointed directly to you but the test came out negative, and then it hit me, Aria cloaked myself and her from Beau to protect us, Alaric's babies are part of the Gemini coven, them along with Aria's kids and even Caroline's are the future of the coven, they would've protected them in any way they could".

"Wait, wait, how is this all possible?" A confused Alaric asked.

Aria placed the ultrasound tool on Rebekah's stomach and suddenly two heartbeats could be heard and the screen showed two twins in Rebekah's stomach.

"Bloody hell" Aria whispered, "The babies were cloaked this whole time".

"Oh my god" Caroline laughed, extremely happy for her best friend.

"Oh" Rebekah whispered, looking at the screen that showed the twins in extreme fascination.

"I beg your pardon?" Kol asked.

"Rebekah's what with who?!" Damon asked.

"Rebekah's pregnant with Alaric and Jo's twins" Aria repeated for what seemed like the thousand time.

"I beg your--".

"Kol Mikaelson, say I beg your pardon one more time and I swear to god I will stake you" Aria threatened.

"Can you blame me for being in shock?" Kol asked, "My little sister is pregnant Ri!".

"And that to with Alaric's kids" Damon added.

"Okay, I admit it's a bit a shocking" Aria started.

"A bit?!" Kol asked.

"But Alaric is finally happy, Rebekah is happy, this is everything both of them ever wanted, so you two are going to keep your sarcastic commentary to yourselves, don't say anything insensitive to Rebekah or Ric" Aria warned, "Understood?".

"Alaric got my little sister pregnant" A shocked Kol mumbled, a disgust expression on his face.

"Ric didn't get Rebekah pregnant, the old Gemini coven did" Aria pointed out, making Kol and Damon look at her in a shocked expression, "Not like that!" she quickly yelled, realising what Damon and Kol were thinking, "The Gemini coven used their magic to transfer the babies from Jo into Rebekah, Alaric had nothing to do with this".

Kol opened his mouth to retort, but the knock on the door stopped him.

"Alec wait!" Aria yelled, as soon as Alec heard the door knock, he stood up from his playmat and ran as quickly as his legs would take him towards the door, Aria quickly picked Alec up in her arms while a chuckling Damon went to open the door, "You are going to make me run after you so much once you grow up".

"Yes he is" Kol said, grabbing Alec from Aria and kissing his cheek, making Alec giggle.

Aria smiled at Kol and Alec, while Mia was attached to Damon and Asher to Aria, Alec was clearly fond of Kol.

Damon opened the front door of the Mikaelson mansion and saw his mother standing there, "Did you come back to get your dish?" he asked, as Kol and Damon had spent the day trying to get Lily to realise how bad Julian was but they failed badly or so they thought.

"May I come in?" Lily asked.

Damon looked at Aria, who was looking at him, both parents were apprehensive in letting Lily in where their kids were.

"I'm not here to hurt your family Damon" Lily assured, seeing Damon's hesitation.

Damon sighed, "You can come in but think about hurting my family and I swear, mother or not, I will rip your heart out" he threatened.

Lily nodded in understanding and entered the Mikaelson mansion, a small smile formed on her face seeing Alec, who was still in Kol's arms and was looking at Lily with a curious look on his face.

Lily looked at Damon, "He looks exactly like you used to when you were a baby" she informed.

Damon looked at his son then at his mother, "Of course he does, he's my son".

"Why are you here Lily?" Aria asked confused.

"All of you were right" Lily said.

"Sorry?" Kol asked, "Mind repeating what you just said because I'm not sure I quite got that".

"All of you were right about Julian, I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner" Lily apologised, "I've traded one monster for another, but I'm not gonna let him hurt us anymore, I have a plan, and this time, we won't get hurt".

Hearing Lily, Damon, Aria and Kol exchanged confused looks between them, wondering if they should trust Lily or not.
