08. Dead Man On Campus

"I bought milkshakes" Aria announced, entering her dorm room.

"Yes!" Caroline said, "Which one is mine?".

"The strawberry one is yours, the chocolate one is Rebekah, and the vanilla one is mine" Aria replied, handing Caroline and Rebekah their respective milkshakes.

"So what did you want to talk about?" Rebekah asked, sitting on Aria's bed.

"Right" Aria said, sitting next to Rebekah, while Caroline sat on Rebekah's bed, "Last night, me and Kol were going through some of my mom's grimoires, and in it I found a spell that was passed through many Connor generations, and it's a spell that's made specifically for Connor witches, meaning only we can do it, no other witches".

"What kind of spell?" Caroline asked confused.

"Care, remember when we were kids, we made a pact with each other, that when we get married, it will be on the same day, and when we have kids, it will around the same time?" Aria asked.

"I remember" Caroline replied.

"And now in that pact Rebekah is included, right?" Aria asked.

"Right" Caroline agreed.

"Guys, the spell I found, if I do it on both of you, it will make it that you guys can get pregnant, but only once" Aria revealed, shocking the two girls.

"We can have kids?" Rebekah asked shocked.

Aria nodded, "I read the spell a million times, it's a legit spell, and I thought you guys should know that I'm not the only one who can have a family, and I know Rebekah you aren't in a serious relationship yet, and Care I know you and Nik have a while before you guys think about kids, but I thought you guys should know that it is possible for you guys to have your own family".

"You're seriously not joking?" Rebekah asked.

"I'm serious Rebekah" Aria replied, "It's a one time spell, but yeah, when you both are ready you can have a family, we all can have our own little families".

"Oh my god!" Caroline yelled, standing up and hugging Aria, making her laugh, "You have no idea how happy I am!".

Aria chuckled and hugged Caroline back, "I figured you guys will be".

After Caroline separated from Aria, Rebekah also hugged her, making Aria laugh.

"We should have a party" Caroline said excitedly.

"I can't drink Care" Aria reminded.

"You can have a mocktail" Caroline said.

"A fruity one?" Aria asked.

"Obviously" Caroline replied.

"I think we deserve a party, Silas and Amara are gone, Adriana and Damien are together in the afterlife" Rebekah said.

"We think" Aria interjected.

"We know" Rebekah corrected, "They were soulmates, obviously they are spending their afterlife together".

"Which equals a massive cause for celebration" Caroline said.

"Which also equals to a massive party" Rebekah said.

"We've only made two friends in collage so far" Aria reminded.

"One of which went radio silent after kissing Rebekah" Caroline said, giving Rebekah a teasing grin, talking about that fact that Jesse and Rebekah shared their first kiss a few days ago before Jesse disappeared somewhere.

"So, is there something there?" Aria asked.

"There can't be anything with a guy who isn't even here" Rebekah replied, sitting on the bed, slightly upset.

"If he comes back, will there be something there?" Aria asked.

"I don't know Aria, and why are we talking about Jesse?" Rebekah asked, "Aria, didn't you also make a friend?".

"Right, Aaron" Caroline replied, "Who was last seen at a tea party for a vampire-hating secret society".

"Augustine, right?" Aria asked, while Aria was dealing with the doppelgangers, Caroline and Rebekah were gaining more information on Wes and the organisation he worked for, which turned out to be Augustine, a vampire hating organisation.

"Yeap, they're the one who covered up our roommate's death and they're the ones who want to kick us off campus" Rebekah replied.

"You guys, we are so famous that a secret organisation wants us gone" Aria teased.

Rebekah chuckled, "But who cares, right? We're not leaving, we can take care of ourselves, no one is going to stop us from graduating collage".

"Amen to that sister" Aria said, "So about that fruity mocktail?".

"Mr. Salvatore, you and your best friend are invited to a collage party hosted by your three favorite girls" Aria said into the phone, while handing out flyers to the collage students about the party.

"My favorite girls?" Damon asked amused.

"Yes, your favorite blonde frenemy, your favorite female Mikaelson, and last but not the least, the love of your life" Aria replied, "We are celebrating a lot of things Damon, Adriana and Damien are together in the afterlife, meaning their love story is complete, which also means--".

"The curse on our bloodlines should be gone" Damon finished.

"Exactly" Aria said, "And we never really got to celebrate my pregnancy, please come and bring your best friend along".

"Stop calling Kol my best friend" Damon complained.

"I'll stop calling him your best friend, once you admit it that he is your bestest friend in the whole wide world" Aria teased, just as her eyes landed on Aaron, "Oh wait, hold up" she told Damon, while walking over to Aaron, "Aaron, hey".

"Hey" Aaron greeted.

"It's been awhile" Aria said, she handed Aaron the party invitation, "Here take this, and please show up".

"Who's Aaron?" Damon asked confused.

Aaron took the invitation and read it, "Party in a dorm, no thanks".

"Come on Aaron, please come" Aria pleaded, "Trust me, I'm in the same boat as you, I hate parties".

"Then why are you hosting one?" Aaron asked confused.

"Because you need to get out of your shell once in a while" Aria replied, "Come on, there's going to be free beer, Caroline's even making fruity mocktails".

"For you?" Aaron asked, gesturing towards Aria's pregnancy belly, which she no longer felt the need to hide.

"Yeap" Aria replied, "But don't worry, I don't mind sharing my mocktails, but only if say yes".

"I don't know Aria" Aaron said, still slightly skeptical.

"You know, I'm very stubborn" Aria said, "I won't leave you until you say yes, it's just one party, please".

Aaron sighed, "Fine, I'll see you tonight".

Aria smiled, "See you tonight".

"Maybe I should be there and make sure you don't make out with the moody mystery guy" Damon said, once Aaron had walked away.

"Aaron is a friend Damon" Aria assured, "The actual guy I want to make out with is making it very hard for me to make out with him because he is refusing to come to my party, I even bought bourbon for him".

"What happened to not letting me and Kol drink for nine months?" Damon asked.

"I'm happy today, so you both get a free pass" Aria replied.

"Well, I'll be sure to replay the message to Kol" Damon said.

"Great, see you tonight" Aria said.

"See you tonight" Damon said, hanging up.

"All the fliers have been handed out" Aria informed Caroline and Rebekah, helping them decorate for the party, "And I've also invited Damon, Kol, Jeremy and April".

Suddenly, Rebekah's phone started ringing, both Aria and Caroline smiled seeing who was calling her.

"Look who it is Beks" Aria teased, grabbing Rebekah's phone, "The mysterious hot biology TA".

"Shut up" Rebekah said, snatching the phone from Aria and answering it, "Finally decided to rise from the dead?".

"I need your help" A panicked Jesse said.

"What happened?" Rebekah asked, suddenly concerned.

"Just come to my room, please" Jesse pleaded.

"Alright, I'm coming, but what's the matter?" Rebekah asked.

"It's a long story" Jesse replied, "My roommate's gonna be home".

"What happened?" Aria asked, as Jesse hanged up on Rebekah.

"I don't know" Rebekah replied, running to Jesse's dorm.

"It was torture, I was in some cell all day and then at night he'd take me out and do experiments on me" Jesse explained to Rebekah.

After Jesse called her, Rebekah had rushed to his dorm to see him feeding on Aaron, who turned out to be his roommate, she quickly realise that someone turned Jesse into a vampire, and he needed help in controlling his bloodlust.

"Experiments?" Rebekah asked shocked.

"He'd starve me and then inject me with some weird blood" Jesse explained, "What am I supposed to tell my parents? They left me all these messages, they're wondering where the hell I am".

"You're going to call them and let them know that you're okay, you had just lost your phone" Rebekah said, sitting next to Jesse, "Do you know where Wes is now?".

"I locked him in his lab after I attacked him" Jesse replied, "Honestly, the whole escape was kind of a blur, I wasn't exactly in my right mind".

"You're new, which means you're really hungry" Rebekah said.

"Not for long" Caroline said, as her and Aria entered the room.

"We brought our personal stash" Aria said, as Caroline dragged in a cooler.

"How are you?" Caroline asked Jesse, as Aria handed him a blood bag.

"You two are vampires as well?" Jesse asked shocked, taking the blood bag from Aria.

"It's not such a bad thing" Caroline replied.

"Rule number one in being a vampire, is realising that it's a whole different world out there, and you get to explore this world as a amazing new person" Aria said.

Jesse looked at Rebekah, who gave him an encouraging smile, Jesse started drinking from the blood bag, while Aria decided to check on a unconscious Aaron.

"Is he okay?" Aria asked.

"He's fine, he's alive" Rebekah replied.

"I'll heal him" Aria said, going to bite into her wrist.

"Wait" Caroline said, stopping Aria, "I was thinking that Jesse could do it, he needs to learn that he might have hurt him, but he can also heal him". 

Rebekah grabbed Jesse's wrist, and lightly bit into it, confusing him, "Your blood will heal him" Rebekah said, guiding Jesse over to Aaron, she placed his wrist on Aaron's mouth, letting Aaron drink Jesse's blood.

"Holy crap, that's insane" Jesse said, watching in amazement as Aaron's wound healed with his blood.

"You should also teach him about compulsion" Aria told Rebekah.

"There's a lot of people here!" Aria yelled over the music.

"Of course they are, we hosted this party Aria, it obviously has to epic" Caroline said, making Aria laugh.

"Where's Rebekah?" Aria asked, looking around but seeing no sign of the youngest Mikaelson.

"Keeping an eye on Jesse somewhere" Caroline replied, "Here's your fruity mocktail".

"Yes!" Aria said excitedly, taking the fruity mocktail from Caroline, "God, this is amazing" she said, taking a sip.

"Thank you, I made it myself" Caroline said, feeling very proud of herself, "By the way, where are Damon and Kol? I thought you invited them as well".

"I sent them to question Wes" Aria replied.

"You realise that Damon and Kol are going to kill Wes, right?" Caroline asked.

"And will that be such a bad thing?" Aria asked.

"Yes, if they kill him without getting information out of him" Caroline replied.

"Don't worry Care, they won't kill Wes until they know everything he knows" Aria assured.

"Let's hope so" Caroline said.

"What do you two want?" Wes asked the two vampires, trying to get out of his chains that were tying him down.

"What we want is to be drinking copious quantities of booze and I want to be making out with my girlfriend, but, unfortunately, I can't do that until I get a bunch of answers out of you" Damon replied, opening a fridge full of test tubes.

"What the hell is all this?" Kol asked confused.

"Careful with those" Wes warned.

"These? These right here? Why?" Damon asked, as Kol took out a tray of the test tubes, "I mean, we're on a collage campus, right? Full of students? I mean I can't imagine an MD has a bunch of infectious diseases just lying around".

"MD PhD, I'm a researcher" Wes corrected.

"That explains everything" Kol said sarcastically.

"I've met a lot of people like you" Damon said, "Science over medicine, right? Let me guess, you use these on your little vampire lab rats, don't you?".

"Looks like the researcher is in no mood to talk" Kol said, when Wes stayed quiet, "That's fine, cause us two, we are really good at making people talk".

"That we are" Damon said, grabbing a tube, "We're gonna play a little game where we inject you with whatever the hell necrotizing fasciitis is".

"It's a flesh-eating bacteria" Wes informed.

"Can't wait to see it eat your flesh" Kol said.

"Agreed" Damon said, "So we're gonna do that, and we're gonna ask you a bunch of questions, you answer correctly, one us will give you some of our delicious vampire blood and it'll heal you right on up".

"But if you try to act smart and answer us incorrectly, we're gonna see how fast this bacteria eats your flesh" Kol said, as Damon grabbed an injection and filled it with the bacteria, and then stabbed Wes with it.

"Turning a kid into a vampire so you can experiment on him? Harsh" Damon commented, "What is it about this place that turns into mad scientist?".

"Human trials are a vital part of modern medicine" Wes replied.

"But aren't people supposed to volunteer to be experimented on?" Kol asked, "Like aren't they supposed to sign a waiver or something?".

"Sometimes you do what's necessary for the greater good" Wes replied.

"Okay, me and Kol here, we aren't the greatest guys in the world but sounds like some Mengele-level crap that you're spouting out" Damon said, "So I gotta ask, what is your greater good?".

"Look what I found" Kol said, holding another test tube, "Rabies, start speaking Wes, or I will gladly inject you with this", Wes didn't say anything just stayed quiet, causing Kol to roll his eyes and stab him with the injection, "God, I missed torturing people".

"Well Kol, looks like rabies was a bust" Damon said, "Guess we'll have to find something more immediate".

"On it" Kol said, looking through the various tubes.

"I wanted to turn Jesse into a new kind of vampire" Wes said, finally speaking up.

"Well, that's awfully ambitious of you" Damon commented.

"I'm awfully smart" Wes said.

"Ah, this will definitely get you to open up" Kol said, holding a small bottle, "Ebola".

"Nice" Damon said, he turned to Wes, "Why?".

Wes looked at Kol as he started filling the injection up, "Your kind is dangerous to humans, you're dangerous because we're your food source" he said quickly, "I wanna change that, if vampires don't need to feed on humans, they're no longer a threat".

"Well, I'm not buying the good doctor bit" Damon said.

"Me neither" Kol said, about to inject Wes.

"Human blood will only satiate Jesse temporarily" Wes said, stopping Kol, "Until he gets a taste of what he really craves".

"And what does he really crave?" Kol asked.

"Vampire blood" Wes replied, shocking both Kol and Damon.

"Okay, so this isn't the lamest party that I've ever been to" Aaron said, walking over to Aria, who was standing on the side, watching everyone dance.

"You made it" Aria said happily.

"Barely, I think I fell asleep" Aaron said, slightly confused, "I just woke up".

"That's okay, all it matters is that you made it" Aria said, knowing that Jesse had compelled Aaron, "Here, have some fruity mocktail, it's really good, or do you want something stronger, we also have bourbon, but don't tell anyone, it's only for the close friends".

"This will do" Aaron assured, taking the mocktail from Aria, "Now I know why Wes told me to stay away from you, cheers", Aaron and Aria cheered their glasses and downed their mocktail, "You're trouble" Aaron said, after drinking the mocktail.

"Thank you" Aria said, making Aaron chuckle, "Hey so, how do you know Wes anyways?".

"He's my legal guardian" Aaron replied.

"Really?" Aria asked shocked.

"Mhmm" Aaron replied.

"Where are your parents?" Aria asked.

"They're dead" Aaron replied.

"Same pinch" Aria said.

"What?" Aaron asked confused.

"My parents are dead to" Aria clarified, "Birth and adopted, my legal guardian he also died, so there's that".

"Whoa, dark" Aaron commented, "No offense, but usually I'm the biggest freak in the room".

Aria chuckled, "Not tonight, you're not".

"Do you want to sit?" Aaron asked, gesturing to the stairs, "I can't imagine standing for too long in your condition".

"It's not the ideal situation, my feet are almost always swollen now" Aria said, sitting next to Aaron on the stairs.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did it happen?" Aaron asked, "How did your parents die?".

"Adopted parents, their car went over a bridge, a guardian angel managed to save me but he couldn't save them" Aria replied, a sad smile on her face remembering that Damon had managed to save her, while Stefan had saved Elena, but no one managed to save Grayson and Miranda, "You?".

"I was six" Aaron replied, "And we went camping, and I woke up to the sound of my mom screaming, I went to check it out, and I saw blood everywhere, they had bite marks all over their neck".

"Bite marks?" Aria asked shocked.

"Yeah, they said a bear got into the camp" Aaron replied.

"I was ten, when my biological parents died" Aria said, "I had come back from school, and when I entered my house, my parents were on the floor dead, they were surrounded by blood".

"Your parents were murdered?" Aaron asked shocked.

Aria nodded, "Yeah" she whispered.

"They ever find the killer?" Aaron asked.

"No" Aria lied, "They're killer is still out loose somewhere", technically Aria wasn't lying, her parents killer Katherine Pierce was still out and about, "One of my ex-best friend, her parents took me in, they're the ones who died in the car accident, and then later on, after Ric, my other legal guardian died, my mom's best friend, she adopted me".

"I shuffled around distant relatives for a while" Aaron informed, letting Aria know, she wasn't the only one who went family to family, "Eventually, Wes took me in, so Wes is the closest thing to family I have left".

"Wow" Aria whispered, "We both have pretty tragic stories, don't we?".

Aaron chuckled, "Yes we do".

"I think we both need more fruity mocktails" Aria said.

"Agreed" Aaron said.

"I'll be right back" Aria said, standing up, she turned to Aaron, "Thanks for coming Aaron, it was really nice to talk to you".

Aaron smiled, "Likewise".

"Hey" Rebekah said, walking over to Aria, once she had walked away from Aaron, "Have you seen Jesse?".

"No" Aria replied, "Beks I need to go".

"Where?" Rebekah asked confused.

"I need to call Damon" Aria replied, "He can't kill Wes".

"Excuse me?" Aria asked through the phone, "Jesse is a vampire who feeds on vampires?".

"That's what Doogie said" Damon replied, "And, apparently, once he starts, he can't stop".

"So, him telling you all this means he's still alive, right?" Aria asked.

"As of now" Damon replied.

"Please, for the love of god, keep it that way, Damon" Aria pleaded, "Wes can't die, his the only family Aaron has left".

Damon and Kol exchanged a look hearing Aria talk about Aaron, "Aaron?" Damon asked, trying not to sound like he was jealous.

"Yes Damon, Aaron, my first and probably only friend I make in collage" Aria replied, "He has no one after Wes, and I know the feeling of losing your parents and guardians, it's not a good feeling, so please don't kill him".

"Okay, we won't kill him" Damon said, "Bye".

Damon turned and faced Wes after hanging up on Aria, "The problem is, I know people like you, a lot better than you realise, if I let you live, you're just gonna do it again, you're gonna turn another vampire, you're gonna do another experiment, the only way to really handle you is just to snuff you out, you're lucky I don't feel like burying a body".

"Uh, Damon" Kol said, "Come here".

"What?" Damon asked, walking over to Kol.

"The bookshelf here, it seemed odd to me, so I moved it and look what I found" Kol replied.

"Exiled members" Damon read, "There's only two people here".

"Lucas and Amelia Connor" Kol read.

In front of Damon and Kol, were two photos, one of Lucas Connor, the other of Amelia Connor, and above them said, Exiled Members.

"What the hell does this mean?!" Kol asked Wes, "Why are Aria's dead parents on your wall?".

"I won't answer till one of you feed me your blood" Wes said.

Damon bit into his wrist and offered it to Wes, "Drink, and then you're telling us, what does Aria's parents have to do with you".

Before Wes could drink Damon's blood, Jesse barged in, "What did you do to me?" he snapped.

"Easy there, killer" Damon warned.

"Wasn't bad enough that you poked me full of needles?" Jesse asked, ignoring Damon, "Now I wanna feed on the girl I like?".

"You feed on the monsters, Jesse" Wes replied, just as Jesse's eyes landed on the blood on Damon's wrist, he charged forward, but Damon quickly held him by his neck.

"In case Professor Mikaelson forgot to tell you in your training sweetie, I'm a lot older than you, that means I'm a lot stronger" Damon said.

"Actually, that's not 100-percent accurate" Wes said.

"What?" Kol asked confused.

Before Wes could reply, Jesse grabbed Damon by the neck and both of then fell through the glass window.

"What the hell did they do to you?" Damon asked, as Jesse kept trying to bit him.

Jesse ignored Damon and bit into his neck, and Damon couldn't rip him off, Kol quickly speeded over to the two and ripped out Jesse's heart, causing him to fall to the floor, dead.

"No!" Rebekah yelled, running over, "No, Jesse! Jesse!", Rebekah glared at her brother, "What did you do?!".

"He was gonna kill Damon" Kol snapped.

"I promised I would help him Kol!" Rebekah yelled.

"He didn't have a choice, all right?" Damon snapped, holding on to his neck.

"Damon!" Aria yelled, running over to the group, "Oh my god! What happened? Are you okay?".

"I'm fine" Damon assured.

"Jesse" Aria whispered, looking at Jesse's dead body, "What happened?".

"Kol killed him" Rebekah said.

"He saved my life" Damon reminded, "Once Jesse had the taste of vampire blood there was nothing stopping him, go ask Dr. Frankenstein, I'll go deal with him, Kol, stay with Aria".

"Damon--".

"Don't tell her" Damon mouthed to Kol, talking about them finding Aria's parents photos in Wes's lab.

"Beks, are you okay?" Aria asked, missing Damon and Kol's secret conversation.

"He was my responsibility" Rebekah whispered.

"Rebekah, I would have never killed him if it wasn't absolutely necessary" Kol said.

"I know that Kol, trust me I know" Rebekah said, "I'm just--".

"She feels like she failed Jesse" Aria realised.

"Yeah" Rebekah whispered.

"But you didn't fail him Beks, you tried to help him, what happened to Jesse, isn't your fault, and it's not Kol's fault either, he was just saving a friend" Aria said, "Jesse should have never turned into a vampire in the first place, all of this, what Jesse did, and why Kol had to kill him, it all comes back to one person".

"Wes" Rebekah whispered.

"If you're gonna do this, I'd much rather prefer a bullet through the brain" Wes told, while stealthily cutting his ropes.

After much persuasion, Damon and Kol had managed to convince both Rebekah and Aria that Damon will take care of Wes, and they should go back to their dorm with Kol, specially as they could tell that Aria was starting to get really exhausted.

"Actually, I'm gonna wait until I can compel all this out of your head" Damon said, putting all the tubes back into the fridge, where his eyes landed on various blood bags, "What the hell is that?" he whispered, grabbing the blood bag, "Why does this say 12144?".

"What do you care?" Wes asked.

"Because I was 21051" Damon revealed, shocking Wes.

"21051, hang on" Wes said, "You were an Augustine vampire?".

Suddenly, a bunch of pictures started appearing infront of Damon's eyes, "Augustine" he whispered, "I haven't heard that name in decades, vampire lab rats, coded subject names, I thought you guys shut down 60 years ago".

"You thought wrong" Wes said.

Damon glared at Wes, he put the blood bag back in the fridge and marched over to Wes, "You know when I said I wasn't gonna kill you?" he asked, "I lied".

Before Damon could inject Wes with the Ebola injection, Wes brought out of the ropes, and tried to run, Damon quickly speeded infront of him, but Wes had managed to press a button, causing Damon to fall to the floor in a coughing fit.

"Atomized vervain" Wes revealed, "When working with vampires, you can never be too careful, and I'm sure Augustine will be thrilled to have you back".

Damon slowly opened his eyes, he looked at his surrounding in confusion when he realised he was trapped in a cell, Damon looked at the wall beside him, where he saw his initials were carved in, with the number 53 under it.

It didn't take long at all for Damon to realise where he was, after sixty years of freedom, Damon Salvatore was back in Augustine's trap.

Thoughts on Aria finding a spell that will allow Rebekah and Caroline to get pregnant once? Not going to lie, I promised you all a Klaroline baby, which is going to come in the next few seasons, but I'm preparing for that and already planning the legacies sequel, with all the kids together 😂
