Dear Lord that season was...

Okay, before I speak let me say right now this whole chapter and comments contains Season 6 Part 1 SPOILERS! Please don't read until you have seen the whole thing! I'm serious!

Oooookay.

Well.

That season went a lot darker than I anticipated.

First of all, if you've finished the season let me just say my first thought is how illogical that ending was.

They threw out every bit of growth Tory had. She joined Kreese and Cobra Kai AGAIN? I'm so thrown. I understand she lost her mom, but what about Brandon (her brother)? And Robby? And this new friendship at the new dojo? Her friendship with Devon and bonding over her mom? She was so happy! And then she wasn't even given time to grieve? She just immediately was disqualified from Miyagi-Fang altogether?

Okay, I feel like the writers don't want her happy. Time and time again what the hell. They didn't have to kill her mom off? I really never thought they'd do that because it throws the balance of the whole show off. I just want Tory to be happy.

Props to Peyton List for acting her ass off, though. She made me sob. Holy shit.

I do not want to have to wait until November and then until 2025. Agggghhhhhh.

My Reactions to the Season: 

So, let's get into the rest of the season. I recorded my reactions, so here are the highlights starting at episode 1. I'll put my ideas for Zion in season 6 below these reactions. I'm still trying to process everything, though.

Episode 1:

I already hate the idea that Mr. Miyagi's wisdom will be tarnished in favor of a new plotline

Robby calling them a family is SO important to me ahhh

I hate the logo they came up with, but I love Daniel's version.

I had to go back and rewatch Robby punching that bag. That was hot as helllllll

Lmao Tory looks soooo done. She had me laughing the first half of this part.

Miguel trying to make small talk with the girls is hilarious. And Robby with Kenny saying "don't shoot!" is the cutest.

Tory and Sam having Robby's back is so cute shut uppp

Whatever episode Chozen left in I forgot but it makes me sad because he disappeared without warning or real acknowledgement??

Stingray teaching Cobra Kai at Coyote Creek was nottttttt on my list of ideas what the hell

Kenny is SO much older in this season lmfao

The "don't wanna fight a girl" felt so cheesy? Hello?? The writing of that whole scene felt off.

Stingray's writing can often suck for fanservice or something, but his actor truly is great. And that's why he stays booked!

"Robby and his boy" that's crazy lmao the Kiaz shippers will have fun with that one, I'm sure

Shawn calling it like it is about Cobra Kai is funny. I like that he's supporting Kenny in a new dojo and stuff. Shawn hugging him is a beautiful moment for Kenny wow.

Sam just assuming its all good gets meee because no honey that's not how it works. "Two bonsai badasses to kick the competition" is crazy far to go after one fight where she showed SOME Miyagi-Do

"Eagle Fang name is stupid" you go Chozen!

I understand Johnny moving on from Kreese, but damn why is he changing everything for Miyagi-Do? They're ruining his character (in my opinion smh)

I am SO happy Kenny came back so early!

Episode 2:

Kreese and Silver flashbacks ahhh. Master Kim going for his granddaughter's neck? What the fuck lmao. Okay, Sensei Kim Da-Eun, I kind of love you just by association with Kreese. Is that okay?

Miguel's Stanford essay making everyone cry is so real

Sewage pipe bursting "it smells like shit" is crazy. Yes, that's the what sewage is, Johnny! Good job!

Miguel overhearing they can't afford a prestigious college is really sad because I know that feeling (not the exact same but similar)

Johnny's plan for everything is a sponsorship from winning an international karate competition?? It's a baby, not a gamble :(

Is Master Kim still alive? Oh, shittt

I'm a sucker for these school scenes, but what is Demetri wearinggg and why is he talking like that? Eli isn't wanting MIT, is he?

Kreese having to answer to somebody is a crazy dynamic, and the writers were so smart for putting this in there actually. There's so much to experiment with here (update: I was slightly let down but I know they did it for time's sake with these short episodes).

Demetri, Eli, and Miguel touring College of the Valley. Kyler and Brucks?! Eli APOLOGIZING TO BRUCKS? HELL NOOO. Kyler and Brucks graduated. That's important. Why did they make us think they were in the same grade? Also why is Miguel trying to be friends? Miguel, you're too nice. He HARRASSED your GIRLFRIEND. Ughhh

Johnny saying Carmen is not yet an "Honest woman" and is "knocked up" is an insane way to describe her or literally any woman? That makes me SO MAD. Do NOT disrespect my girl Carmen, and I'm not convinced Johnny would ever say that? I know it was meant to be a joke with the whole "her mom smokes weed" thing or whatever but like... Johnny is better than that, writers ugh

Why is Kreese trekking in the woods at 60/70 years old? It's like Biden golfing lmao 

"Spikes" lmaooo

Mentioning Dutch! In prison! FUCK if that's not foreshadowing??

Eli eating popcorn is SO FUNNY. Also Eli jumping on Demetri's back for an insane kick. Also Demetri is SO GOOD at fighting these goons? Hello? Give him his respect?

Random frat boy offering a spot to Kyler is HOT

Amanda and Johnny are the cutest. She's so whimsical with it, too <3

Episode 3:

Cute little baby shower aw. But God, Johnny, don't be weird about having a girl. 

The gender reveal was anticlimatic...? Daniel is so funny with the pink, though

Why is Tory everywhere? I understand she's the girlfriend but its gotta be awkward?

"Your girlfriends are broken." Devon, I love you!

Devon is the cutest about this sleepover. And Johnny spelling out bitch on the ouija board is sooo funny shut uppp

The chase scene with Chozen and Daniel got me. I was laughing so hard

The Tory and Sam forgiveness scene made me cry actually. The hug! Them talking out and using their words instead! I love them!

So, the tournament is in Barcelona with only six students and one boy and one girl leading. I just KNOW this will fuck up everyone's OC fics ah (I'm coming up with a game plan. I fear everyone will take Devon out in their fics, though. She deserves better)

Episode 4:

Yes, Daniel, it is a bad idea to bring Mike Barnes into the dojo.

That joint cartwheeel between Miguel and Robby wowww. I love them

I hate that Yasmine is just his hot confidence boost and that they didn't even bother bringing Moon back. Ugh. Cobra Kai writers have more leading women and women who aren't just there to be girlfriends challenge

Not an alpha conversation with Johnny and Mike ewww get me out of here. Side note: If someone gets hit with that saw blade it's game over. That's going to HURT.

Nobody has mentioned the AmeriHawk yet? Like in the show? Nobody has mentioned how ridiculous it is? And Eli never even said why he did it? Also his hair can't be that long so it's obviously all fake, and whatever I hate it

What's funny is that Devon is the "newest" but Oona has some of the best form

What the fuck was that lexatives plotline? I didn't need all of that. Also I hated that she let Anthony take the heat AND that she cheated. This villain arc doesn't look good on my baby Devon

Why am I cheering for Demetri? Probably for the toe-curling drama

The moment where he pinned Eli's arm and said, "How do you like it, huh?" What the HELL! He hasn't gotten over season 2 and 3 Hawk?! SHIT that was an aggressive kick. SHIT poor Eli. SHIT he left him. SHIT SHIT SHIT WHAT

Episode 5:

My initial reaction: Tory's mom is doing better? That's so amazing oh my goddd (Who's gonna tell past me?)

KREESE VISITING TORY HOLY SHIT. I eat up Tory and Kreese's plotlines. 

Mini rant: I just can't get on board with Keenry; I'm so sorry. I may eventually write out why on Tumblr. I love seeing them happy but together UGH I just can't. Especially since she's supposed to trust him with everything and instead she completely ignores him and goes back to working with Kreese when that's what got her in trouble last time? And now she's with Kim Da-Eun? The "psycho bitch"? Huh???

Miguel got deferred awww. But they mentioned Dem got into MIT so yay

My live reaction to Tory coming home: Oh no my heart dropped. Please don't let her mom be dead. Oh my God I'm crying again no no no. They aren't moving fast enough with the Tory plotline. I need details and her to tell them and fuck fuck fuck

Okay, now onto Robby. Someone tell him he's so much better than second place. Someone tell him he deserves the world right now!

Edit: It also felt like so many plotlines were thrown away for sake of time or something? Carmen disappeared pretty much, and the whole "I'm buying a house" thing ended because "oops I have to go to Barcelona" ? Kenny just disappeared. Chozen disappeared. They could have fleshed out Kreese and Master Kim more. They could have made the Binary Brothers go through a way bigger arc than whatever it was we got? They could have explained Devon's motivations to cheat for the Sekai Tekai more? We could have seen Tory deciding to join Kreese (maybe we still will)? 

Sheesh. I love this silly little karate show, but they have SO much potential that they waste. 

This Book:

And that's season 6. It's a LOT to absorb. Let's talk about Zion and my ideas now, too.

Truthfully, I was considering before the season came out having Zion take a step back from the Sekai Tekai because of the way season 5 will end. But with Tory with Kreese and only 6 going and whatever, that's not an option.

So I already have Zion's arc planned out. Unfortunately, it's not the happiest...?

But at least I'm not dumb and writing her out of it! 

God, I was really hoping we'd get more senior year shenanigans in this part or even the season. I can't exactly write Zion into the male frat party. So this means more original plotlines of them in school and Zion being caught between Tory and Sam. So yay?!

We're getting Zion, Robby, and Kenny back as a family! Who cheered?!

I'm excited to write the sleepover episode I think, but this whole season's drama will be more amplified with more girls. I may have shot myself in the foot with giving Zion so many friends, but it may also be a good thing?

Hypothetically, the sleepover will be: Tory, Sam, Devon, Zion, Aisha, and Piper.

And obviously as far as friend groups go I won't be forgetting Eva, Liv, and Jai or Yasmine and Moon. I'm kind of ready for some girl drama? 

I have PLANS for that Mike Barnes/ Sekai Tekai selections episode. I'm REALLY excited to write that one.

And I'm not going to mention episode 5 any more than I already have. You'll just have to wait and see.

PLEASE tell me what you hope to see from Zion in Cold Hearted Season 6! 

Random side note: If you've seen Miraculous Ladybug, wouldn't you agree they regressed Tory's arc just like Chloe Bourgeois (I haven't watched past season 4 and that was years ago. This is just my first thing to compare it to)?
