Truths on the face

Chapter 14

Elijah

I left the training room very angry. I felt betrayed by my own father and when that spoiled little girl called me by my name pissed me off even more. She was touching my balls too much and not only dared to contradict and confront me, but she was also calling me by my name when for sure, her little friend made that point clear to her. She was provoking me to dangerous limits, and I had to exert all my willpower not to humiliate her as I wanted. When I thought about it, I didn't even know why I held back so much with her when I could quickly tell her everything she deserved. She needed to understand once and for all who was in charge of this organization and this city. No matter how much I embarrassed her or in front of whom I did it.

However, I held back, and that pissed me off more than her haughtiness because it was as if she wanted to do all that, but for some unknown reason, and when it came to her, I couldn't quite be the bastard I was with the others.

Before leaving, I asked Evan to start with the training that my father would do as the stupid girl asked. I had to admit she was absolutely right to claim, for what she said was nothing but the truth, and even though I would never admit it in front of anyone, she blurted out the fucking truth, and she did it to my face. I smiled at the memory, the intelligence she possessed was amazing, and each time I became more and more convinced that she was not the same as the others.

She was worse.

She challenged me more and more, forced me to repress many of my feelings, made me want to hate her and struggle between that feeling and trying to put up with her, something I still didn't even know why she was pressuring me to do, and I was surprised at how much I tolerated from her. If she was in that organization, it was because I wanted her to be and although at first, I thought it was what I wanted, in those moments, I was questioning it and beginning to think I screwed up.

That was another thing that girl made me do, doubting my decisions when I was always a very confident person.

Not even the damn woman I unintentionally compared her to made me doubt so much in my life or managed to make my head a single shit. She never got to piss me off the way Isabella pissed me off and didn't make me need the fights and confrontations between the two as a bit of seasoning for my life. That was another reason I had to hate Isabella White; even though she's just a little girl compared to that one; I couldn't help but resemble them and let the memories hit my mind. Memories that I fought to forget for a long time and that I succeeded until the day this little girl crossed my path.

Isabella White. A beautiful witch with honey eyes, but a witch, nonetheless.

The attitude my father had with her was another thing that bothered me. Myles Pride is a hard man, a demon worse than me, characterized by arrogance and haughtiness. He wields his power as he pleases, his mere presence makes everyone tremble, but with Isabella, it was different. I could notice the bewilderment in all the boys, the astonishment in Tess, and the envy in Elsa when she saw the kindness with which father spoke to that girl and that he had mentioned his past was something surprising since neither he nor mother ever talked about it.

I knocked on the door as I reached my father's office, and after he allowed me to enter, I took a seat in the chair in front of his desk. I was impatient and hungry for answers he had to give me.

"I knew it wouldn't take you long to come looking for me," he pointed out with a smirk.

"Of course, I would. What happened out there?" I inquired.

"It happened that I finally met someone capable of putting you in your place." I laughed satirically at his silly response.

"No one, I don't want to put me in my place, and I only allow that to you and mother," I pointed out. "I remind you, father, that even you can't control me sometimes, and if you do, it's only because I respect you," I assured him, reminding him of the myriad of problems we had in the past and I saw him get serious.

"I don't know for what reason you got that girl into this organization, Elijah." He took a posture of power as was characteristic of him when he would say something of utmost importance, "but you know that if I don't allow Tess to enter, it is precisely to protect her from the dangers we face."

"And what does that have to do with that girl?" I mumbled harshly, and he tensed. There we went again.

"That if that girl is here, it's because you wanted it so! So now you'll guard her with your life!" he warned, and I accepted that his tone of voice came to intimidate me, but more disconcerted that he expressed himself like that about Isabella.

It was unheard of that he cared more about her than me.

"Ever since I met that chick, I've been trying to research her and find out who she is, but her past life is a fucking mystery," I asserted, showing him that I wouldn't be intimidated by his way of talking to me or defending her. "I'm not an idiot, and you know it. I could see the astonishment in your eyes when you heard her name." I saw him stir uncomfortably at my accusation. "You know who she is?"

"This is not the time to talk about the past, my beloved black-winged angel," he replied, calling me as mother used to when I was little, and though his way of doing so was not with mockery, it was with determination.

I snorted in response. He knew perfectly well that I hated that nickname. He didn't care. He always called me that way at the least appropriate times.

"I'm just asking you to protect that girl," he added.

"That chick drives me crazy!" I blurted out at his insistence and saw him smile. "What's so funny?"

"You remind me so much of me when I was your age," he replied with amusement. "The time will come when we'll talk about this, and I promise you'll understand everything," he added more calmly, "now, just do as I ask and don't forget that sometimes the people who drive you crazy are the ones who mark your life the most, or else remember Am..."

"Don't you dare mention her," I warned. I didn't want to hear the name that caused me so much pain. "Don't ever do it in front of me."

"All right, son. Do as I ask, and please go. I have a lot of work to do." He dismissed me subtly. I shook my head in annoyance and walked towards the door without a word. "Elijah!" I stopped before I opened it, but my back was turned, not seeing him. "Remember that many times a demon doesn't always want to be one and needs the light of an angel to at least know what he's missing." I smiled, even though he couldn't see me.

"Not when the devil wants to remain a devil, father. Leave those book stories for Tess," I suggested and walked out without waiting for an answer.

I felt more confused than I had come. I was pissed off at the questions and found that my father had many. I needed to know everything about Isabella, and I knew that if we continued to get along as badly as we had up to that point, I was never going to accomplish anything. I had to have a new strategy to get what I wanted, and I smiled as I thought about what would be the perfect one to achieve it, one that never failed me and maybe with that I would be more of a son of a bitch, but in war and love anything was fair game, and for me, that was war.

And I would attack my turf.

____****____

I arrived back at the training room and noticed how tired all the guys were, Elsa was on the mat fighting Dylan, and I smiled proudly as I watched her put into practice everything I had taught her, managing to take Dylan down on many occasions. Tess, Isabella, Jacob, and Connor were off to the side, chatting and watching the fight. Evan was serving as a referee and giving them some pointers.

"What are the mechanics of the combats like?" I asked, coming to his side.

"They are rounds. Whoever wins continues in the fight with the next, and whoever loses goes to wait and then face the other losers." I laughed at what he said, and he shrugged. "Your crazy sister's suggestion," he excused himself.

"I should have figured," I mockingly retorted.

I continued to watch the fight and regretted now and then how Elsa got a few swats on her beautiful ass. The good thing about that was that later I would have the perfect excuse to rub it. I turned my eyes to the other guys and caught Isabella watching me, and I smiled inwardly as I noticed she had embarrassed herself and ignored her. Again, I turned my attention back to the fight.

In the end, Elsa lost and came out of the canvas. Jacob came in and started fighting Dylan. They are both excellent, but in the end, it was Jacob who came out on top. Connor was. Next, he, with his fluid martial arts moves, managed to beat Jacob, leaving a new place for my sister. Tess took her place and got ready to fight Connor. The smirk on his face made me sure that he had made the worst mistake of his life because the crazy Carrot hated that.

And as I predicted before, Connor was defeated by Tess and not very happy. He left the canvas giving his place to Evan. He is one of the best in the organization after me. Of course, his fight is clean and accurate, managing to put my sister in a tough situation.

"Don't get mad, Tess, remember what we talked about!" shouted the brunette encouraging my sister, although I deduced that she had said it too late since Tess was taken many times to the canvas by Evan until she gave up.

When she came out, I went in to face Evan, I saw Isabella's intention to fight him, but I decided to put into practice from that moment my strategy.

Let the game begin.

"Ready for the fun?" asked Evan.

"As always,' I answered by letting myself go against him.

As it was training combat, we tried to do it without blows. We both used wooden weapons simulating a real fight to the death. Evan's attacks were very precise, although too evident for me, allowing me to avoid them and make moves on my part that managed to hit vital points of his body. I took him to the canvas a couple of times, just as he did with me, but in the end, after I put him in a headlock, he gave up. I smiled as I once again accomplished what I set out to do.

Evan stepped off the mat and made way for the brunette, who whispered something to Tess, and then they smiled.

"I see you're very confident, Gorgeous," I said when I had her in front of me.

"Not at all, LuzBel." Hearing her call, me that made me feel strange since it was the first time she had ever referred to me by a name other than what she had called me a while before.

"Don't you even trust yourself?" I tried to provoke her and saw her smile arrogantly.

"I don't even trust my teeth because sometimes they bite my tongue." I laughed, and I really did.

She always had a smart-alecky answer for me. That girl, apart from being intelligent, is curious and, when she wanted, even funny.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Always," she replied.

We both took combat position, and it was she who attacked first and surprised me. Her blows were strong and made me understand that she wanted a real fight. However, despite what she wanted and what they believed about me, I could not hit her or any other woman unless it was with a good ass spanking after filling them with pleasure. I could be a bastard to all of them, but never an abuser, although from time to time, I would stroke their necks with a little more force than was necessary, only when they touched my balls too much.

I continued to avoid her blows and tried to take her only to hand-to-hand combat. She was perfect and managed to avoid many of my attacks. Something in me changed in that instant, and respect began to want to emerge. The girl tried to measure herself with men knowing that she was equal or better than us.

A while later, I noticed her tired, and I managed to take her to the canvas taking the air out of her lungs. As she fell backward, she gasped and stood up immediately. When I least expected it, she gave a strong kick on the back of my knees, making her fall to the ground but neglecting her defense. I grabbed her ankle and made her fall again. If it had been Tess in her place, in those moments, she would have been cursing everyone and very angry, allowing me to beat her faster, but it wasn't her. The brunette thought her moves very well, getting most of them right, and I could safely say that if that had been a real fight, she would have managed to get off very well.

Tired of all that, I decided to make my last move taking her to the canvas again and showing her who was the best there. I grabbed her that time by both feet and made her fall, she took her hands to her head to protect it, and when she fell, I straddled her. She gasped and tried to breathe as she had lost all the air in her lungs.

"Do you give up, Gorgeous?" I asked arrogantly.

"I never do," she replied haltingly as she stirred, trying to wriggle free.

"Then you screwed yourself because I don't either," I mused mockingly.

"Are you sure about that?" she questioned, but as she did so, I felt one of her hands touch one of my thighs. I stirred a little as I didn't understand what she was doing and saw her smile mischievously.

I hadn't expected that.

"I know what you're trying to do, Gorgeous." My voice was hard without being annoyed.

"What am I doing, LuzBel?" she whispered innocently. However, her actions showed me that she was disguising wickedness with innocence, and that really put me off a lot.

Her hand continued to move up my leg.

"You like to play with fire, huh?" I said, and she grinned wider. "Don't do it because you might get burned," I warned.

"Who told you I don't know how to play with it?" I fell silent at her question. "Yeah, I play with fire, and I like to get burned," she mumbled as she was about to get to my crotch, managing to make me nervous that she didn't mind doing it in front of everyone else because it was apparent, they were watching, and their gasps proved it.

"What the fuck!" I screamed when without expecting it, she laid me down nimbly on the canvas and pressed a wooden knife to my throat, being at that instant she straddled me.

"I know how to play very well, dear LuzBel." She smiled triumphantly, making me laugh and raising my hands in surrender, accepting my oh-so-embarrassing defeat. "You're dead," she pointed out the obvious.

"You're brilliant, Brunette. I think we'll make a good team," I agreed in front of her.

Without thinking, I dropped my hands between her legs and hips, the sparkle of innocence I saw earlier settling back into her eyes, and I smiled satirically as I noticed it. Isabella swore she knew how to play with fire, but she'd never been near mine.

"Thank you." The pride on her face was plain to see. She stood up, ignoring what I did, and offered me her hand.

I accepted and stood up. We walked towards the other boys, who laughed derisively when they saw me.

"I told you they think more with their dick, don't forget that." Isabella reminded Tess.

My sister made fun of me, I denied it after what I heard because it had been the fucking truth on that occasion, but the time would come for me to make her pay.

I watched them walk towards the showers, and I stood watching them, still unable to believe what happened. I realized that, in reality, the brunette was a girl to be feared because she knew what she possessed and handled it as she pleased, which made her very dangerous.

"Seriously, I love that girl." Jacob's emotion-filled voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"You love getting your ass kicked," Connor said next to him.

"In the end, the girl is worthy of being a part of Grigori." Even I was surprised at what Dylan had said.

"Why do you say that?" asked Evan.

"She's a real evil angel." The assurance in his voice was startling. "Worthy of making her fall to hell," he added, and I tensed at that last.

"Damn it! You too, Dylan?" spat Elsa. "I thought you'd be the only one who wouldn't become a jerk over her," she accused, and that pissed me off.

"I'm not a jerk over her," I assured.

"Yeah, right!" she replied, rolling her eyes.

"Nor am I," Dylan asserted, "but I see reality, and that girl is a real demon with the face of an angel."

We all fell silent, and I sensed that inside we knew that was the truth. Isabella reconfirmed to be different from all the girls I knew, and that she played that way with me surprised me. I never expected it from her, and it changed my way of thinking, mainly because it suited me that way for the strategy, I had in mind to accomplish.

(****)

We went to change clothes after a shower, got everything ready to leave, and then left for the parking lot of the quarters. We each left for our transportation, and I headed for my motorcycle.

"Elsa, you're going with Connor," I warned her when we arrived.

"He's riding with that fool, and no way I am going with them," she snorted.

"She's not going with him. You are," I mumbled a little rudely.

I was about to retort when the brunette and my sister approached us.

"We're leaving?" she asked Connor.

"I'm sorry, but you won't be traveling with me," he regretfully informed her.

"And who will I be doing it with?" she questioned with intrigue.

"With me," I said eloquently, "this time, you will have the pleasure of traveling with me." Arrogance and amusement flashed across me as I watched his face.

"Don't do this to me, LuzBel," Elsa whispered close to me, "Don't go with her."

I didn't understand why after so many clarifications, Elsa still acted as if I owed her something as if sleeping with us meant I had to respect her.

"I need to," I replied laconically. "It's just strategy."

Lucky for her that I was feeling in a good mood and so I didn't respond otherwise.

"What for?" asked Evan next to me, and I was surprised since I didn't feel him coming.

"It's my business, so stay out of it," I warned before I lose my good mood.

"Remember what I told you about her," Evan asked, and I knew what he meant.

"If she interested me as a woman, I assure you I wouldn't care about what you told me," I confessed, being direct. "But my strategy is not to get her into bed to get what I want. I'm not that shitty, and if at some point something will happen between us, it will be because Isabella wants it too, and you know it," I reminded him gruffly, and he nodded since he knew me.

"I know, and I'm sorry," he then said.

"Don't apologize," I asked, "just know that if she interested me like you're thinking, I go and get her. I don't care if she has a boyfriend or if you're in love with her." We looked straight into each other's eyes. "I'm like that, selfish and a fucking son of a bitch who gets what he wants and that goes for you too, Elsa." Even though I saw the pain in her gaze, I preferred to be clear with her. "I don't belong to you, and I don't owe anyone any explanations."

"Don't rub it in my face," she inquired angrily.

"I'm not. I'm just making it clear." I turned my gaze to Isabella, who didn't look so happy, and whispered things to my sister away from us, but that sure made me happy. "Come on, Gorgeous! Move your beautiful ass over here," I asked teasingly, and after pulling out her middle finger, she walked towards me, an action that made me laugh with amusement.

That would be a fun ride.
