Drunk Danes

A week after Denmark's arrival back home, the nordics decided to have a party for the Dane's recovery and Norway's return home. The other countries had been worrying about them and they had received a mountain of flowers and baked goods during the weeks of horror. So, in order to thank them for their generosity, the five countries sent out invitations for a "thank you" party.

The day of the party, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland were off running errands and going around Stockholm in order to make the party as enjoyable as possible. 3 hours before the party started, Norway and Iceland found themselves searching the aisles of a party store they had never been to. They usually never went into the city because they tried to avoid society as often as possible, but Denmark had demanded red streamers, and the two brothers didn't want to disappoint.

"Should we get confetti?" Iceland asked his brother, holding the bag up to show him the flecks of glitter.

"That's way too messy. If we got that all over the house Finland would kill us and wear our skin as suits." Norway explained over-dramatically.

"Just the streamers then." Iceland muttered, eyes wide in fear as he pictured the murderous Fin. Norway laughed at his facial expression and headed over to the checkout area. Noticing the crazy amount of balloons behind the cash register, Norway decided to pick out a few red, white, and black ones for Denmark. They were his favorite colors and Norway knew he would appreciate the gesture.

After paying for the items, the two brothers headed back into the car to drive back home. "So who's coming tonight?" Iceland asked curiously.

"Finland invited everyone. Except Belarus, of course." Norway responded, cringing as he said her name.

"So like, Hong Kong and all those people?" Iceland questioned, trying a little too hard to sound nonchalant.

"Yes, like Hong Kong and all those people." Norway teased, imitating his brother.

"Shut up." Iceland shot back, landing a punch on his brother's arm as his face turned a deep shade of red. Norway bit his lip to hold back laughter and continued driving.

3 hours after Norway and Iceland arrived back home, the guests began to arrive. As soon as everyone had arrived, Finland turned the music up and started serving drinks, which everyone knew was a bad idea. Whenever the countries and alcohol mixed, France got a little too sexual, England got a little too emotional, America got a little too "bro", and so on. Yet, at every party they had, the host always managed to serve drinks. Norway could already tell it was going to be a mess.

The house was decorated nicely with red streamers, balloons, fairy lights, and a banner saying "thank you" in big red letters. Finland was pretty proud of his work. All day he had refused to let anyone help him with the decorating. He was incredibly meticulous. The Fin had even set up a little bar to serve drinks in the living room.

As Norway walked through the house greeting people and getting hugs from everyone who missed him, he wondered where Denmark was. He hadn't seen the Dane since Prussia and America arrived, which definitely wasn't a good sign. Those three could get in a lot of trouble in a very little amount of time. He hoped they were being responsible.

As Norway made his way to the porch to see if Denmark was outside, he was intercepted by Canada. "Norway, I'm so happy to see you back. I know we're not super close or anything but I was super worried!" the soft-spoken Canadian said, shooting the Norwegian a kind smile.

"Thank you, it means a lot. Maybe we could hang out some time or something." Norway suggested, knowing the Canadian didn't have many friends. He was really nice, but for some reason it seemed like 90% of the countries forgot he existed.

"You want to hang out, with me?" the Canadian asked, looking genuinely shocked at the suggestion.

"Of course! Pick a time and a date. I'm sure I'll be free." Norway spoke, smiling to reassure the Canadian he was being serious.

"Cool! Okay, well, you looked like you were heading somewhere. I'll leave you be." Canada uttered, looking a little guilty as he waved goodbye.

"Seriously, it's fine. I was just looking for Denmark." Norway reassured.

"Oh- well, I think I saw him with my brother on the porch." Canada said before turning back towards the group of countries playing a party game in the living room.

"Thank you!" Norway called out before heading into the kitchen and through the door to the porch. As soon as he stepped through the door, Norway let out a gasp. On the porch in front of him was America and Prussia holding up Denmark's legs while the Dane did a keg stand. Norway's jaw dropped in surprise as he watched the Prussian and the American cheering Denmark on. It was like they were at a high school rager and the three "bros" were trying to get as wasted as possible.

"Eh..hem" Norway said, clearing his throat to notify the "awesome trio" of his presence. America and Prussia looked back at him in surprise before awkwardly setting Denmark down. Denmark let out a loud cheer before turning around and noticing the Norwegian.

"Norwayyyyyyyyy." Denmark spoke, smiling drunkenly as he walked over and wrapped his arm around Norway's waist. Norway tensed at his touch, feeling super awkward in front of America and Prussia.

"Hey Den, can we talk inside or something? It's a bit cold out here." Norway asked, pulling away from the drunk Dane as he gestured towards the door. Denmark nodded with a dopey smile and they both headed into the loud house. Quickly sneaking through the crowded living room without being noticed, Norway dragged Denmark upstairs. He wanted to sober him up a bit before heading back to the party. Norway knew that drunk Denmark was an absolute mess. He was not going to let the Dane ruin his own party.

As Norway opened the door to his room, he let out a yelp. On his bed, making out, were none other than the two tomato-lovers. Slamming the door to the room, Norway tried to block the image out of his mind before dragging Denmark into his own bedroom.

As they both sat down on Denmark's bed, Norway pulled a baggie of Finland's famous homemade cookies out of his pocket and handed them to the Dane. "Eat them. You need to sober up." Norway commanded, laughing as Denmark opened the baggie and immediately shoved them into his mouth. Denmark always craved sweets when he was drunk, which Norway found convenient considering they also sobered him up. Norway wasn't one to get drunk, as he feared losing control of himself. He'd have the occasional drink, but not enough to make him feel disorderly. Denmark on the other hand, could not live without his beer.

"Norge, these cookies are really good!" Denmark said, his voice muffled from the cookies he stuffed into his mouth. Norway laughed at him and brushed one of the Dane's wild hairs out of his face. He always acted like a child when he was drunk, it was kind of adorable. As Norway waited for Denmark to finish the cookies, he tried to listen to what was happening downstairs. It sounded like someone had screamed "German Sparkle Party", but he hoped to god he was wrong.

As soon as Denmark finished the cookies, Norway grabbed his wrist and dragged him into the bathroom. Turning the faucet on, Norway made sure it was at the coldest temperature. Before Denmark could even ask him what he was doing, Norway cupped his hands under the faucet and splashed Denmark's face with the freezing water. Denmark screamed and ran back into his room to dry his face off. Norway chuckled. His attempt at getting Denmark sober again was working.

Now, the last thing he had to do to complete his plan was the worst part, yet his favorite part. Heading out of the bathroom, Norway approached the slightly damp Dane who was fixing his wet hair in the mirror. Grabbing his shoulders, Norway turned Denmark around to face him. Denmark looked down at him with a smile and Norway grabbed his black tie, pulling him in closer until their lips were just centimeters apart. Norway stayed like that for a few seconds to tease him before letting go of the tie and slapping Denmark directly in the face as hard as he could. Denmark shrieked and jumped back, landing onto the bed as Norway tried not to laugh. His plan was foolproof. There was no way Denmark was drunk now.

"DID YOU JUST SLAP ME?!" Denmark screamed, his voice not indicating a single bit of intoxication.

"You needed it. You were very drunk." Norway explained, looking at the red mark on the Dane's face where the slap had been delivered.

"I was barely even tipsy. Way to ruin the fun." Denmark grumbled, looking a bit disgruntled as he sat up on the bed. Norway furrowed his brows in frustration.

"I don't like it when you're drunk. You act like a moron." Norway admitted, crossing his arms angrily. In his mind, he did nothing wrong.

"I was intentionally getting drunk! I've been through hell the past month or so. I need one night to just go wild." Denmark shot back, getting a angry as Norway looked at him condescendingly.

"Fine." Norway snapped, uncrossing his arms and storming out of the room angrily.

"Great!" Denmark yelled sarcastically, running a hand through his hair in frustration as the Norwegian slammed the door after him. This had been their first fight since their return to normalcy. It did not feel good.
