Alexander & Anna
Norway, still running through the pasture towards the silo he saw in the distance, was on the verge of tears, incredibly happy that he had escaped captivity in that creepy dollhouse. As he ran, he realized he was very short of breath, probably from not eating in the past three days. As he passed the gate that bordered the farm, his legs pushed further, and when he reached the entrance of the silo he began to yell in his native language.
"Hallo? Er det noen der?"* Norway called out, hoping someone would pop out from the inside of the silo. As he looked around he noticed stacks of hay and chicken feed strewn about. No one was in the tall metal silo, so he decided to look for another building. Looking outside, he squinted to see a small cabin a little further in the distance. Desperate for food and help, Norway ran faster and faster, the pain in his stomach growing with each second. ice he reached the cabin, he knocked on the wooden door.
"Er det noen som bor her? Jeg trenger hjelp!" ** Norway yelled, pounding furiously on the door. As the door opened to reveal a man with a thick beard and glasses, Norway nearly cried. "Takk Gud. Hei sir kan du hjelpe meg jeg har nettopp blitt kidnappet. Jeg trenger din hjelp."*** Norway cried, staring at the man with desperation. The large man looked down at him with a confused expression and answered him in a language Norway couldn't understand. Suddenly, feeling hopeless, Norway decided to try the next best option.
"Do you speak English?" Norway tried, desperate for help.
"Little bit." the man responded with a thick accent, looking down at the small, starving Norwegian in front of him.
"I need help. Do you have a phone?" Norway asked slowly, making sure the burly man in front of him could easily understand.
"Phon?" the man asked, cocking his head in confusion. Norway knew the man barely understood so he made the telephone hand gesture and put it to his ear to help the man out. The man smiled and nodded quickly, letting Norway into his cabin to use the phone.
"Thank you so much." Norway cried, wanting to give the man a bear hug. The man led him to the telephone and Norway quickly typed in the number to the Nordic house. It rung for a few seconds before being picked up.
"Hello? Denmark? Finland? Sweden? Brother? It's Norway." he frantically screamed into the phone. Norway waited for a response, but was met with the clicking of a telephone shutting off at the other end. "What the HELL?" he screamed into the phone. Norway called again and again, but received no response. Feeling hopeless, Norway began to cry. He was in a country he didn't know, with a man who spoke neither English nor Norwegian, and none of the Nordics would answer the phone.
As he sunk to the floor, sobbing into his hands, the man who owned the cabin reached down to him and picked him up, leading him into the living room and onto the couch.
"I am Alexander." the man spoke slowly, trying to comfort Norway as the reach a hand over to him and rubbed his back. Norway was breathing heavily and looked like he was about to pass out. "I get food for you." the man spoke again, getting up from the couch and going into the kitchen. Norway continued to sob until the man came back with an apple and a piece of toast.
"Th-thank you" Norway choked out, taking the toast from his hand and shoving it into his face like a wild animal. The man smiled and continued to rub his back in an attempt to comfort him. Just as Norway took a bite of the apple, a woman entered the cabin, wearing really high rain boots and overalls. She looked at Norway and then said something unintelligible to her husband, who responded with a few words. The woman gasped, and immediately sat down onto the couch.
"I speak little English, but you need help?" she asked, sounding much more clear than her burly husband. Norway looked up with hope and immediately stopped crying.
"Yes! Yes!" he exclaimed excitedly.
"Country?" she questioned, looking at Norway like he was her own child. She had a motherly presence, and Norway suddenly felt safe with this woman around. Her voice was soothing, and her looks were caring.
"Norway."
"Far Far Away!" the woman said in shock, looking at Norway as if he was an alien with fifteen heads. "Name?"
"Uh- Lukas." Norway stated, saying his human name for the first time in a very long time.
"I am Anna. This Alexander." she explained, gesturing towards herself and her husband. "You need get back to Norway?"
"I need to get back to Sweden." Norway explained. The Nordic house was in Sweden because everyone felt like it was the most central country.
"Sweden? I help." Anna promised, placing a hand on Norway's shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.
"Thank you." Norway thanked, looking up at her with caring eyes.
"I drive. Car outside." Anna explained, gesturing towards the door. Norway felt like crying as he realized he was finally going back home. He still didn't know what country he was in and he still didn't know how long the car ride was going to be but he was so incredibly excited about getting back home that he didn't even care. Anna and Alexander grabbed their coats and led Norway out to their little car in the back of their cabin. As he hopped in the back he smiled.
"I'm coming back for you, Den."
