CHAPTER 15
KIRA’S POV
“Hey, so you wanted to leave for classes without telling me, right?” I say to him.
“Of course not, yeah actually, it’s not like we were attending the same classes” Richard says and looks at me as I try to adjust his tie.
“Hey let me help you with that or you think I’ll let you leave home with people looking at you and wondering if you don’t have a mirror at home?” I say as I move closer to him.
“Even if you don’t have a mirror at least you have me” I say tracing my fingers from his belly to the tie I wanted to adjust.
“Don’t worry Kira, It’s okay. I can do it myself, it’s not like it’s the first time I do it anyway. It’s an every morning routine” He says and moves away from me to the entrance of the room. He then looks at his watch.
“Hey Kira, I’ll soon be late for lectures, I guess you should also be having a class now right?
“Oh that? No actually”
“I’m free for today” I add
“In that case I’ll talk to you when I get back home, I’m having only a class today as the other lecturer I’m meant to be having travelled already.”
“Okay then, I guess that’s cool then, what time would you get back?”
“By 12:00am, I should be back”.
“You don’t mean it, you mean a teacher would lecture a class for 4 straight hours?” she asks wide eyed.
“That’s what professor Okoro can do, it’s like teaching is his life and his hobby as well. Moreover I never get bored because it’s a biology class.”
“Okay then till then” she says as she moves out of the room.
I’ll make sure I’m always with him.
In fact I’ll make sure that he becomes mine and hates Rhoda. No matter what happens, whether he likes it or not he must be mine.
RICHARD’S POV
I’d better stop thinking before I bump into someone else, this time probably earning a slap.
But on a more serious note, what could be Kira’s intention. Yeah, I know she doesn’t like Kira whole heartedly but does she have to put me in between then, in fact why doesn’t she like Rhoda, she is a very likeable person or, wait a minute does she like me. Am I the reason for the hanging fight in between men? Of course not it can’t be, I and Kira have been in the school before Rhoda came and I never saw any signs of her liking me in her character.
“Like you had eyes for anyone at that time” my sub consciousness says to me.
“That’s true though, I never noticed any one except myself before the arrival of Rhoda.
“Richard! Richard!!” I halt as I hear my name from what looks like a distance until I see Bessie standing in front of me in fact I almost bumped into her.
“What the hell was going through your mind Richard on a Monday morning”.
“Oh, nothing really Bessie, it’s just that this place is quite different from the environment I used to be”
“Of course buddy,” you have to change environment almost every time” Bessie says innocently.
“So where are you headed”
“I’m going for GST 101”
“Oh that’s cool, I’m having a biology class now”
“I guess you know how weird that is right?”
“I’ve loved it from on set, it’s just that I’m not really a mathematics fan, if not, I would have been in the science field so I just used it as a borrowed course”
“That’s great then, I’ll like to know where you stay. I’ll see you later”
“Yeah, that’s okay. I’ll call you when I’m done with classes”
“Yeah bye”
“Bye”
“Hello Rhodie” I say as into the receiver as soon as she picks up.
“How’s everything sweetheart” she says and I’m kinda of sad she doesn’t call me Richie today as it stirs up something in me, even though I continually warned her against it.
I knew she was gonna do the opposite.
“So anything for me?”
“Nothing serious, I just missed your voice, that is all”
“Really Richie?” wow she finally called me Richie. I smile as I reply
“Sure, nothing more” 
“When last did we talk?
“Yesterday night, don’t tell me that you forgot so soon.”
“Of course not, I’m just trying to prove a point, just yesterday night and this morning, you already miss my voice”
“Sure Rhodie, in fact I wish you were her”
“But unfortunately I can’t be there so we just see some other time, okay:
“Aren’t you having classes?”
“Not yet, in the next two hours I’ll be having a class”
“Oh that’s great I’m on my way to a biology class now”
“So you are on the road, and you are making a call as long as this, anyways I’ll call you in the next 5 hours”
“Okay dearie, I miss you seriously and that’s what I want you to know” I say laughing.
“So what should I do?”
“I don’t know, anything I guess”
“I’ll have to stop the conversation now because I’m already in front of my class”
“Okay sweetie, till afternoon then”
“I love you Rhodie”
“I love u Richard”
I smile to myself as I end the call.
“Hmn hmn early Monday morning loving”
One of my course mates says as he slaps my arm playfully and we walk into the lecture hall together.
