Coffee Shop (SasuNaru/Naruto Fanfic) Chapter 3
Things were going so well for Naruto that he should have realised that his luck was going to run out soon.
Naruto had been invited to choreograph and perform in a recent dance movie, him being the special guest. He choreographed and did multiple practice runs, and he taught the dance to the backup dancers which would have been dancing behind him.
But unfortunately, one of the backup dancers was a little more than clumsy, and when he was meant to be doing a backflip, the idiotic man back flipped onto Naruto. Trying to keep his screams to himself, the ambulance arrived quickly and hospitalised him. He received flowers and food from the clumsy dancer a day after.
He had already been lying on the white bed, in the white room, for three days, until he was deemed fit to be discharged. In his opinion, he only needed a day or so for the pain in his back to stop hurting, not three. It may have been the fact that he just wanted to go back to Hokkaido and visit the coffee shop (and Sasuke), that he was happy to ignore the short tenses of his back when he walked.
When he left the hospital, a sleek black car was waiting for him, inside it being Sakura, Neji and Temari, all harbouring worried expressions.
"It was a bruise, not a broken back." Naruto rolled his eyes. "It doesn't even hurt anymore." He had said.
Sakura didn't take any of that and ordered him to halt his hard work and stay in the hotel for a couple more days, Neji promised to keep him tied to his bed in case he escaped. Temari just laughed.
But of course, Naruto didn't listen.
~*~*~
His bad luck continued. He knew that he was bordering onto 'stalker' territory as he was actually thinking about bargaining to take Shikamaru's student pass and entering the University without permission. But in his defence, Shikamaru was hinting it.
He was annoyed. He was annoyed that when he finally escaped from the bed that Neji had confined him in and ran to the coffee shop to see Sasuke again, (hoping to see Sasuke's smirk and mocking of the hoodie that Naruto was wearing again) he was greeted solely by the bored expression of Shikamaru, with Ino cleaning up one of the tables.
"Kiba's on a date with Hinata, though I have a feeling you didn't come for him." Shikamaru greeted Naruto, with a knowing smirk on his face. "Planning on telling Sasuke, anytime soon?"
Naruto raised his head stiffly, "Not if I can help it. Why are you even here? You don't work here."
Shikamaru tilted his head, "You're right, I don't." He said. "But I'm taking over for Sasuke until he's done with a business project." Naruto was slightly bothered by the fact that Sasuke neglected to tell him anything about this, he should have known that Naruto would return to the coffee shop, only to be greeted by someone other than Sasuke.
"Ah, is that so." Naruto muttered, not quite knowing what to do.
"It says here that you have a secret girlfriend in Hokkaido, which is why you are staying for too long." Shikamaru said, turning a magazine around and pushing it towards the blonde boy. Naruto walked towards the counter and read over the page.
He bristled, "What stupidity." Naruto groaned, "Ino, have you seen this?" He called behind him to the platinum haired girl. The girl laughed while Naruto glared.
"Although," Shikamaru had his head propped up with his palm, his eyes lowering and looking as if he was about to fall asleep any moment. "If you're interested," He stopped, dropping his hand to reach for something in his pocket, he gradually pulled out a lanyard with Shikamaru's own face and name attached to it. "I may be able to provide a way to see said mistress," He placed the lanyard on the counter. "Everything is electronic, they don't check who comes in and out." Naruto's eyes widened as he understood what Shikamaru was hinting at, he looked up to see Shikamaru staring at him with a confident expression. "For a price."
As it turned out, Shikamaru's friend had a slight interest in attending the 'SHINOBI' tour concert. And he wanted a backstage pass. Naruto battled with his morals and thought about not giving into Shikamaru's agreement. But with the sole image of Sasuke's surprised face in his mind, Naruto fished out his mobile from his pocket and texted Temari to get two backstage passes to their next concert for one of his new 'friends'.
When he took the lanyard and saw Shikamaru's cocky smirk, he sighed and realised that he just made a deal with the devil.
~*~*~
Yeah, he was moving into 'stalker' territory. But again, Shikamaru was baiting him. He didn't want to enter the University entirely because that would have been not only wrong, but stupid as well.
It was slightly chilly, being about eight in the evening, the sun had already set and the wind was brushing against Naruto's blonde locks. He stood in front of the entrance of the University and rested his head against the stone walls of the building. With a leg raised and rested against the building as well, he watched as people exited the massive construction. Sasuke and Shikamaru must have been smart, being able to attend this University. Naruto himself only finished high school, and went straight into the dance industry as he was working throughout his high school days as well.
He checked his phone, it was ten minutes past eight, and from what Shikamaru told him; Sasuke exited the front entrance of the building in order to go to the dorms, which was on the right. He shivered slightly and cursed himself for only wearing tracksuit bottoms with a shirt and thin jacket – he should have brought a coat with him.
Soon enough, he was met with the familiar back of a tall, dark and handsome man. Naruto grinned and walked forward, slowly.
Once he was able to reach out and touch Sasuke on the shoulder to surprise him, he heard a gasp from behind. Naruto's heart standing still, he turned with wide eyes and was noticed by a short girl with big brown eyes.
"I-Is it re-really...?" She stuttered, hands rising to her mouth in shock. Naruto was staring with a black expression, not quite comprehending that there was someone who ruined his moment of surprising Sasuke when he hadn't seen him for many weeks. He then took in her expression; wide and unbelieving eyes, a mouth hung slightly ajar, a hand itching towards either her phone or her face, he didn't really want to know. His eyes widened even more until he heard another voice. He whipped around again.
"Naruto?" The familiar voice of Sasuke put him at ease, but he realised that the girl would screw up his identity. Sasuke couldn't know, Sasuke wasn't allowed to know yet!
The barista stared at him with surprised eyes, Naruto grinned cautiously, pulling a hand to his hair and scratching the back of his head (he wasn't wearing his hoodie! His hair is distinctive! That was how the girl recognised him!)
He stuttered, "Y-Yo!" The girl gasped again, hearing his voice and undoubtedly recognising it even further. Sasuke scrunched up his face in confusion from her expression. Naruto quickly turned and grabbed Sasuke by the shoulder. "Dorms, right? This way!" He stumbled on his words and lightly dragged Sasuke by his arm. "Shit, shit. Come on."
If the girl behind him did anything, he wouldn't have known, because he didn't look back.
~*~*~
"I would ask how you know which University I go to, but I don't really want to find out." Sasuke told him once they reached his dorm room (Room 81, Naruto committed it to memory) and he pulled out the keys and opened the door. "I would also ask if you knew that girl, and maybe if she was an ex-girlfriend or something, but I don't want to find that out either." He added, snorting quietly and taking his shoes off when they entered, Naruto doing the same out of common courtesy.
"Um..." Naruto started, "She's not an ex-girlfriend, that's not really my..." He paused, not knowing how to call being gay, "... area of expertise." He finished lamely, Sasuke paused and turned to look at him, an unreadable expression in his eyes.
"Oh." Sasuke turned back around and started walking deeper into the apartment, where Naruto followed and saw his living room. It was a cosy room, clean but not too clean, the style that a university student should have. The walls were painted a light beige colour to contrast with the dark furniture, and there was a large couch in front of a T.V. "Sai – my roommate – isn't here right now, he's coming back late."
Naruto hadn't known that Sasuke had a roommate, and he was sort of glad that he was away because Naruto was in Sasuke's house and literally alone with him. He didn't know if it could have been more exciting or more awkward.
"It's nice." Naruto noted, looking around the room. And it was, Naruto himself definitely didn't have something like this. His home in Tokyo was much different, full of mess and ramen cups, with posters of dancers and photos with his friends. Compared to that chaos, Sasuke's house was much nicer.
Sasuke nodded in appreciation, "Thanks, Sai doesn't help with the cleaning much, but I try as much as I can." He looked slightly proud of the fact that he put effort into his apartment, and it made Naruto smile quietly as he kept thinking about how cute the silent appreciation from the other man was.
It didn't seem like Sasuke was put off by Naruto's sexuality. But it didn't seem as if he was intrigued by it either. All in all, he looked pretty nonchalant about it, and again, it annoyed Naruto.
"Want something to eat?" Sasuke questioned, taking quiet steps towards the kitchen, which left Naruto standing in the middle of the living room. He decided to make himself comfortable and sat down on the couch, in front of the T.V.
Naruto bit his lip, "Uh, sure, what do you have?" He asked, half of his mind thinking about what Temari would say about his poor diet again, and the other half not particularly caring because he was in Sasuke's apartment and he was offering him food.
"Well," Sasuke wheezed, as he knelt down to take a look at the freezer, pulling one of the three compartments open, and of course Naruto wasn't looking at the way Sasuke's shirt rode up as his knee was pulling it from the left side, even though Sasuke had pale, soft skin, which looked sort of lean and not necessarily muscly, but certainly not an ounce of fat on it either. "We have... margarita pizza. Sai and I haven't gone shopping in a while."
Naruto didn't know if he could feel jealous of a person he had never met before, because the roommate and Sasuke were like a domestic couple living together, and it was cute, but Naruto wanted to be in this 'Sai' person's place instead. He found it endearing how Sasuke's diet consisted of mostly coffee and pizza (margarita pizza, with extra tomatoes, of course) and didn't mind eating the pizza which Sasuke had suggested, even though he was slightly craving ramen. "Yeah, pizza's good." He said.
Sasuke didn't reply, but instead pulled the carton out of the freezer and ripped the box away from the pizza, tearing the plastic away and placing it inside the oven, (again, Naruto wasn't looking.) "Give it fifteen minutes." He spoke, wiping his hands on a cloth on the counter and walking towards the living room again. "Movie?" With Naruto's slow nod, he directed the blonde to a rack of DVD's.
Naruto searched through the rack, stopping at the few films which he had featured in. He paused, wondering if Sasuke had watched them and recognised him, or if these films were someone else's. "Are they all yours?"
With a snort, Sasuke rolled his eyes, "No, most of them are Sai's, pick any you want." Naruto smiled and nodded slightly and continued his hunt for a movie. His finger crept along each DVD spine until he stopped on an adventure movie. Showing it to Sasuke with a grin, Sasuke sighed and shrugged, pushing the disk into the T.V.
The dark-haired man went to get the pizza and some beers, dropping them on top of Naruto's lap and smirked when he heard Naruto's surprised yelp. The movie started and they were in silence, only the quiet sounds of chewing (not loud enough to make Naruto nauseous, but loud enough to not be silent.) Sasuke suddenly moaned, surprising Naruto again. He laughed and pointed at the pizza slice, reasoning that it was 'really freaking delicious.' Naruto huffed, attempting to calm down the burning sensation in his trousers from hearing Sasuke moan, and sighed.
It was about half-way through the movie, where Naruto had already lost track of what was happening because during the first half, a couple of slices of pizza was left, two cans of beer were drank, and Sasuke and Naruto were touching knees and their hands were close together. Naruto was practically leaning on Sasuke's side, and he breathed heavily, noticing that he could feel Sasuke's breath on his neck.
Naruto turned his head, seeing Sasuke staring right at him with heavy lidded eyes and his head tilted to the side. "Are you even watching the movie?" He questioned, a playful smirk on his lips, Naruto couldn't help himself from staring at his lips when Sasuke's tongue licked his lips.
Swallowing the growing lump in his throat, he shivered at the icy expression that Sasuke was sending him. He didn't know if it was the beer clouding his mind, or if it was because he just never managed to write the kanji for 'masochism' as a teenager, but he found Sasuke's actions so fucking attractive.
"No." Naruto didn't stutter. He just rested his sky-blue eyes upon Sasuke's darkened form.
They were silent for a moment, the light from the T.V reflecting into Sasuke's dark eyes. His expression was almost seductive, and Naruto didn't know if he could control himself any further if Sasuke continued to stare at him like that. He didn't want to scare the other man away because of a stupid crush – although he knew subconsciously that it wasn't just a stupid crush – and he reasoned with himself that he valued Sasuke's friendship more than the small possibility of there being a romance with the pale man.
Sasuke stared at him in silence for a moment longer, before leaning forward enough to capture Naruto's plump lips in between his own ones. Naruto was frozen, he didn't move. When Sasuke backed away and turned back to the T.V like nothing just happened, Naruto's mouth hung open in shock. Sasuke just retreated from kissing him and continued to watch the movie!
Naruto finally comprehended that Sasuke had done something that only had happened in Naruto's dreams, and he jumped forward so quickly that their knees bumped together and Sasuke threw the blanket away from the couch with a smirk. Naruto's half lidded eyes shut and he connected their lips again, their teeth making an ugly clang noise from the contact before Sasuke licked Naruto's bottom lip. Their foreheads bumped together a few times before the experience from previous lovers settled in and compensated for Naruto's eagerness.
Sasuke's hands pushed Naruto's shirt upwards and travelled around Naruto's back and chest. Naruto was pressed against Sasuke's chest and his lips didn't disconnect from Sasuke's. They only parted to breathe a couple of times for about a millisecond before their lips were together again.
Naruto tugged at Sasuke's shirt and it was quickly discarded, alongside Naruto's orange shirt which was thrown near the jacket Naruto took off earlier, before the movie started. Naruto marvelled at Sasuke's frame, it was broad and strong, not an ounce of flab on it, with minimal muscle but Naruto loved it, the pale skin was everywhere, not covered by any hair except from a small amount trailing down from his belly-button to his crotch. It was a stark difference from Naruto's tanned, muscly body, a few scars tracing on his chest from previous incidents while he was dancing.
Sasuke captured Naruto's tongue with his own and he continued to trace his hands down Naruto's back. Their loud breathing disrupted the audio from the movie – which was still playing – and lewd shivers ran through Naruto's body whenever Sasuke's hands touched the base of his back.
The lights turned on.
"... Screw Kakashi, I say go for the exhibition offer, I'm going to be there myself so I can help you, among other things, we've never fucked in an art exhibition bathroom before so..." Sasuke groaned and covered his eyes with his hands. Naruto was blinking while still breathing as if he had just ran a marathon. "Oh wait, I smell pizza and the T.V is on, there are clothes everywhere, and I hear heavy breathing. I think Sasuke finally plucked up the courage to fuck the tanned hottie." The said 'tanned hottie' was confused and nervous for another person even knowing about him, and the while situation he was in.
Sasuke huffed, "Sai, if you come here, I swear I will murder you..." He trailed off, eyes meeting Naruto's own blue orbs, Naruto was going to duck his head and meet his lips with Sasuke's again, but he saw a shadow from his side and looked up, hands still on Sasuke's chest.
"Y-Yo-Woah..." Sai's mouth was hanging ajar and his narrow black eyes were widened slightly. "Wait, aren't you-?" Sasuke groaned even louder and threw one of their shirts at Sai's face, making him jump and whisper, "I'll call you back." into the phone, dropping it onto the ground.
The fact that Naruto and Sasuke didn't even hear the lock turn or the door open, made him a bit apprehensive, even though it was a given if he was making out with Sasuke, he wouldn't be paying any attention to the outside world.
Sasuke rolled his eyes, "I can kick him out," He notified Naruto, motioning towards the frozen Sai, "if you want." Sai blinked and then called out an undignified 'hey!' Sasuke smirked and tilted his head at Naruto, the blonde bit his lip and gingerly stood up, avoiding eye contact with both pale men.
"Um, no, its fine." He stumbled and picked up his shirt, slipped his feet into his loose trainers and didn't look back. "I'll text you later." He pushed the door open and closed it quickly, rushing out of the apartment block. Leaving his jacket behind.
The room was left with two confused pale, dark haired men, one shirtless and the other with a random shirt on his shoulder.
"So," Sai pursed his lips, and drawled out his words, "He has a dick, right?"
Sasuke threw an empty beer can at him.
~*~*~
Naruto pushed himself out of the black car and ran into the hotel, rushing up the stairs while panting. He had to lose all of his energy and adrenaline so he could collapse into his bed and sleep straight away. He felt tears starting to swell up in his eyes but he held them back until he got into his room, kicking his shoes off, he fell into his bed and covered his body with the blanket.
His phone buzzed, and he didn't want to look at it. But at the same time, Gaara may have messaged him about wanting to murder his interviewer and it was Naruto's responsibility to talk him out of mass homicide.
< Sai threw away the rest of the pizza and chucked three dance movie DVDs at me, it hit my head >
< It was hard and it hurt, and I'm blaming you >
< So apparently I'm your secret girlfriend?? >
This made Naruto's lips twitch and he felt them form a smile. Sasuke made everything so simple, but Naruto knew that if the paparazzi caught wind of a non-famous person with a famous person, they would complicate everything and make it difficult to cope.
These thoughts made Naruto's smile turn into a frown and he bristled at the idea of Sasuke's life being destroyed by paparazzi. He sneered and closed the app.
He didn't reply to the message and threw his phone at the wall before covering his face with the blanket.
~*~*~
Naruto heard a knock at the door.
Contemplating covering his bare chest and legs, he groaned, noticing the mess of screen-glass on the floor and snorted at his emotional turmoil the night before. He didn't have to destroy his phone, even though he could easily buy a new one. He thought about simply taking the sim card out and putting it into his new phone. Nodding at his genius, he was startled when he heard another knock at the door.
He picked up some bottoms from the floor and quickly put them on, sighing at the thought of Sakura at the door, wondering why he wasn't picking up his phone. How would be say it? 'Oh yeah, um, I accidentally threw my phone at the wall. Can you get me another phone please?' That wasn't going to fly. She would slit his throat with one of her business cards.
Opening the door and preparing himself for death, he was met by the blank expression of Sasuke. "Good morning." He pushed his way into the room. Naruto was stunned and stood, with the door still wide open.
"H-Hi..." Naruto mumbled, shakily closing the door, turning to see Sasuke sitting on the bed.
"Shikamaru wanted to thank you for the backstage passes, he met a pretty girl called Temari." Sasuke told him as Naruto slowly walked towards him. "Well, he actually said 'pleasure doing business with you, give my lanyard to Sasuke when you see him'." He said. Crossing his legs on the bed, he propped his head up with his palm.
Naruto nodded with pursed lips. "Ah." He muttered, not quite comfortable with the idea of Sasuke being in his room, when he knew that Sasuke knew that Naruto wasn't who he said he was. He bit his lip again (they were becoming chapped, he needed to put lip balm on them soon) and fiddled with his fingers.
Sasuke tilted his head, "You didn't reply to my messages last night," He began, Naruto had the decency to look sheepish, "So I thought you were freaking out." He glanced at the mess that used to be Naruto's phone. "Clearly you were." He laughed, irritating Naruto that he was taking this situation so lightly. "I was trying to explain that it's fine." Sasuke continued.
Naruto paused and thought that Sasuke had lost his mind, staring blankly at the pale raven-haired man. "W-Wha-"
Sasuke raised a hand to interrupt him. "I know you think it's a bad idea and that I don't know what I'm getting into." Naruto couldn't reply because that was exactly what was going through his mind. "And I wanted to tell you to stop thinking like that, I'm not a child, neither are you, so we can make it work." Naruto was about to start to cry because Sasuke was being so understanding and it was really getting to him. "You didn't lie to me, you just didn't tell me everything about you." Sasuke justified.
"I-I-" Naruto croaked and couldn't get any words out. Sasuke stood up and walked towards him.
"I thought people were surprised about how tanned your skin was for a Japanese man, or your whiskers." He traced his fingers across Naruto's cheeks in an endearing manner, with a small smile on his face. "I had no idea that you were... you." He dropped his hand and stared into Naruto's eyes.
Naruto saw everything about Sasuke in his eyes and couldn't fathom how lucky he was to meet someone like Sasuke. His snarky and sarcastic attitude made everything about him... him.
Sasuke raised a hand to the elastic of Naruto's pyjama bottoms. "So... can we-?"
He didn't finish his sentence because Naruto had already pinned him to the bed and tore Sasuke's shirt off. Their hands tangled themselves in each other's hair, and Naruto found himself wishing that he had brushed his teeth before opening the door, but Sasuke didn't seem to care so he continued to explore Sasuke's mouth.
Sasuke turned them over so he was on top of Naruto as he laughed into the other's lips and they tugged at each other's remaining clothes.
~*~*~
"Oh." Temari stood at the door, spare key in hand.
Naruto threw a pillow at her and covered himself and Sasuke with the blanket. "Go away..." He groaned and chuckled when Sasuke traced a finger on his chest.
Temari smacked her lips together. "Just wanted to tell you that rehearsals are cancelled tonight, so I'm going to a restaurant with Shikamaru... uh... continue..." She shut the door and left the two men tangled in a mess of sheets and each other's limbs.
"So, you have the whole day off?" Sasuke smirked. Naruto felt his face heat up, all the way to his ears, and he nodded hesitantly.
"Mm hmm." He rested his face in the crook of Sasuke's neck.
He was quickly flipped around so Sasuke was above him, smirking. "I hope you have good stamina then."
Naruto grinned when their lips met with each other, "I have the best." he moaned into the kiss, feeling lucky and praising his love for coffee.
