two: here's your hot choc-coffee! one hot coffee.
"ONE HOT CHOCOLATE WITH A SHOT OF PEPPERMINT?" Cece asked kindly in the coffee shop, looking for the order.
A middle aged man came up to her hand she set it down, smiling at him kindly.
"Have a wonderful day!"
The blonde adjusted her white button up and light blue jeans, a casual but cute outfit.
The door bell rang, indicating a customer was coming in.
Cece looked up and saw Tommy with his foster sister, Danielle.
"Hey dude. What's the order gonna be today?" Cece asked.
Tommy looked over and saw Megan, wanting to act cool for both the sisters, he panicked.
"Can I get a black coffee?" Tommy asked.
Cece blinked a couple times.
"Coffee?" Danielle asked, her eyebrows furrowing, "Not hot chocolate?"
"Oh, I don't drink hot chocolate anymore." Tommy said, his cheeks turning slightly pink.
"You has one this morning-"
"Well, I quit."
Danielle rolled her eyes.
"I'm gonna need to see some ID, freshman." Megan said cheekily.
"I-ID? Cece's in my grade." Tommy defended.
"Am I, Tommy?" Cece said, "Am I?"
The boy was silent for a couple seconds.
"I'm just kidding. Cece is in your grade and there will be one hot coffee coming to you." Megan giggled.
"You know what, Megan, you help the next customer. I got this one." Cece assured her sister, walking over to the 'coffee' machine.
"So...how'd you know Cece and I are in the same grade?" Tommy asked.
"Okay, one," Megan held a finger up, "You basically just said it, like, two seconds ago, and two," Megan held up another finger, "Shes my sister."
Megan licked her bottom teeth.
"And you come up a lot in our conversations." Megan whispered.
"What?" Tommy asked.
"Hm?" Megan asked.
"I'm lost." Danielle muttered.
"Here's your hot choc-hot coffee! One hot coffee." Cece said, coming up to the three and sliding a 'coffee' to Tommy.
"Thanks." He said.
Tommy brought the cup up to his lips and took a drink, expecting the drink to be bitter. But it wasn't. It was sweet.
It was hot chocolate.
He looked over at Cece and she winked at him.
"So, what are you guys doing for Halloween?" Megan asked.
Cece kicked her sisters leg.
"Well, I'm taking my sisters trick or treating. And my moms at work, so I kind of run the house when she's gone." Tommy informed Megan.
Cece clicked her lips and smiled sweetly.
"So, you're not going to the party Cece invited you to?" Megan asked.
"Yeah, I'm going. No doubt about it. Wouldn't miss it. For Cece. N-Not for Cece. Well, kinda for Cece, but no completely-"
"Shhh..." Cece shushed, bringing a finger up to the boys lips, "I understand."
"The big barn at Wallace Orchard. Lasts all night, doesn't matter what time you show up. Mostly juniors and seniors, but I always bring Cece to parties, so they're used to it. I don't think they would mind if you came." Megan told him.
"Yeah. Well, maybe after my mom comes home, I'll-I'll try to swing by." Tommy stuttered.
"Try hard." Megan said.
"I'll maybe see you there, coffee boy." Cece smirked.
Tommy smiled at the two siblings and turned around with his.
"Did you suddenly get cool?" Danielle asked.
Mike came through the door with his friend, and slapped the coffee out of his hand.
"Oops! Sorry, freshman."
"Uhm, I assume you're gonna be buying him another one!" Cece exclaimed.
Mike looked up at Cece.
"Oh! Cecelia McNally. What a surprise." Mike smirked.
"Give me five dollars to buy the sweet boy a new hot coffee." Cece said lowly.
"No can do. I mean, he did run into me." Mike smirked, as his friends laughed.
Cece tisked and shrugged.
"Guess I can't do anything. Man, that's a bummer." The blonde sighed.
Mike shrugged innocently.
Before Cece gripped the collar of his shirt and jerked him forward.
"Give me five fucking dollars, or that coffee won't be the only thing dripping on the floor."
Mike nodded and Cece let go of him, as the boy frantically reached into his pocket and pulled out five dollars.
Megan came up behind her sister with a hot coffee.
Cece opened the register and slammed the five dollars into it, bumping it closed with her hip.
"Tommy? You have a hot coffee." Megan smirked.
Tommy smiled and went up to the girl, gently grabbing the hot coffee.
"She's kinda a badass." Tommy commented.
"She is badass." Megan corrected.
The two looked over at Cece, who was eyeing Mike with disgust.
Tommy thanked Megan and smiled to Cece, who returned it, and went over to Danielle.
"As you were saying about me being cool, it comes and goes."
