C19: Friends

Hyerin

We just stayed quiet in the first 10 minutes of the car ride. Jungkook seemed like he was in tension so I didn't dare to let out a word because I was worried that it might make his mood worse. He made a U turn before deciding to speak.

"I'm sorry," he suddenly apologised for something he didn't do. It wasn't him who pushed me. I was confused and didn't know what to respond to his sudden apology.

"For what? You didn't do anything." I stated the fact.

He stayed quiet and so did I. The way he acted was weird. He got so protective just now by not allowing Jimin to take me to the clinic. It was rare to know that he offered himself instead to bring me. A few seconds later, he sighed. "You won't get hurt if I was there earlier. I'm sorry for not being able to protect you." He sounded concern but at the same time it sounded like he truly regretted because he wasn't there for me.

I noticed that he kept looking at my hand; where that woman stepped on. She left a big bruise on my hand since she stepped on it with her heels. It still hurt. I think it explained why he felt guilty. But I still didn't get the reason why he felt so guilty.

"She was there to meet me and I pissed her off. Didn't expect that she'd do something like this to you." He said while focusing on the road but still wanted to talk to me.

I looked at him. "If she was there to meet you, then why is she mad at me?" The thing crossed my mind, making me curious. I never know or talked to her before. Why would she attack me? I doubted.

"I think it's because she envies you."

Jungkook

I brought Hyerin to the clinic since her hand had a big bruise and I was worried that it might affect her. She kept on saying that she was fine and okay but I still insisted to bring her to do a check up.

Sora had crossed the line.

The doctor said I couldn't come in with Hyerin for some reasons so I just stayed out of the check up room. While I was waiting for her to be treated, I decided to call Jimin.

He answered the call. "Hello, have you sent her home? How's she doing?" He asked, sounded concerned and worried. The main reason of me calling him was to ask him what actually happened. But I lost control and get mad at him for not protecting her.

"What were you doing when that crazy woman attacked her? Were you just looking and do nothing? I can't believe you let it happen. If I was there, this wouldn't had happen at all," I hissed and I ruffled my hair in annoyance.

"What are you talking about? I left her for awhile to take something in my car. When I got back, I saw Sora had already step on her hand. And of course I—"

"Why'd you leave her alone?!" I was pissed off of the fact that he left her alone. Anything could happen. A woman shouldn't be left alone.

He scoffed. "Why are you so mad? You're not her mom to be this mad. Besides, you don't know what happened so please stop blaming me when you're not there. Just meet me at the office tomorrow and I'll tell you everything." He hung up right away because he knew if he continued talking to me, it will be a huge argument between us.

I groaned while holding my waist. "Fuck,"

20 minutes later, she walked out from the room and I went to her right away. I saw her hand was wrapped with bandage so I held it up and caressed it gently. My eyes got softened while looking at her hand. She was hurt.

She allowed me holding her hand but I could tell that she wasn't used to me being soft towards her. No one had seen my soft side.

"Does it still hurt?" I asked.

She smiled, but I think it was only because she didn't want me to get worried. I knew it was still hurt. "No, it feels better now. Seriously." She told me.

Her lips looked pale, probably because of the shock of what happened just now. Anyone would get shocked when someone like that occurs to them. While still holding her hand, I told her, "You don't have to worry. I'll never let things like this happen to you again. Trust me." I said.

Having no idea where did I get the urge to say something like that to her, I got extremely weird as I pulled her closer to me and wrapped my arms around her. Her head was perfectly placed on my chest; the perfect height of a girl that I wanted to be my girl. It'd be easy for me to hug her.

My heart was beating gently and I knew she could hear it. I could feel she closed her eyes and slowly wrapping her arms around me. We stayed in that position for a perfect minute before she pulled back and looked up at me. "Shall we go now?" Her cheeks were slightly pink.

Did I make her blush? It may be my first time.

I giggled for the first time in front of her before gently patting her head. "Okay, let's get in the car. I'll send you home." I stated as the both of us went to the exit door.

Sora slammed the door shut as she threw her expensive Dior handbag onto the marble floor of her apartment. With full of annoyance and dissatisfaction, she looked at her bruised hand and cursed under her breathe. "That fucking Park Jimin is so—" she kicked her couch very hardly.

But she wasn't actually mad at him. She was mad because she couldn't beat the girl who she think was the reason of why Jungkook didn't want to marry her.

Around a week ago, she saw him with her and she hired someone to spy on them and was told that they were quite close. Without thinking any further, she knew that Jungkook had feelings for Hyerin because he never hang out with girls he didn't like. That was why she felt so pissed off.

"Stupid Jungkook. How can he choose a poor girl like her over a super model like me?!" She yelled out loud, making her to lose her own breathe. "He must be insane." She gritted her teeth.

As she was thinking of something to do in order to make Jungkook as hers, she took out her phone from her jeans pocket and decided to call someone.

"You're playing with the wrong person," she muttered to herself.

Jungkook parked his car right in front of her house and he pulled up the handbrake. He looked around because he had a bad feelings that Sora might followed them. He felt unsafe and worried if she will come back and harm Hyerin.

He sighed while thinking of something. "Can I get off now?" Hyerin asked. It was rude to get off of someone's car without telling them after they gave you a free ride. He stayed quiet after being asked that question. He didn't want her to go.

Gladly, Jungkook was an outgoing person who will tell everyone what he feels if he thinks it was necessary. Not knowing how say it to her, he bit his lower lip before getting the urge to say, "Can you stay?" She blinked in confusion.

"Hm?"

"I mean— the girl who attacked you earlier knows me. And I believe that she did that for a reason. I don't want her to hurt you again. Besides, for your own safety, I think it's good if you just— stay with me for a few days?" He confessed.

Of course she was surprised to hear that from her own employer. It was so sudden that her brain couldn't process it properly in just a few seconds. "Wait, what? I mean, Ju— Sir, are you even aware of your words? You just asked me to stay with you." She told him the thing he said to her just now.

Being a Jungkook, of course he was aware of what he said. He think before he speaks. He knew if he didn't arrange his sentence right, the chance of Hyerin to say no is high. So he think of something that will somehow helped him to make her agree with him. He made his tone sounded demanding.

Yes, being demanding was something Jungkook good at. "You have to." He looked into her eyes, making sure she knows that he was serious and really meant what he said. Before she could say anything else, he said, "Now go pack your things. I'll wait for you here." He told.

Surprisingly, it didn't take her too long before she finally agreed. "Fine." Once the word spitted out from her mouth, a sly smirk showed on his face and he nodded his head in relief.

"Gladly," he breathed then when she entered her house to pack her things up, Jungkook took out his phone to call his maids. "Hello, make sure to clean up the guest room. I'm coming home in an hour." He informed one of his maids.

"Yes, sure Sir." She answered after she was given a task although all the rooms in his penthouse were already clean; not even a dust could be detected.

There was a short silence for a few seconds but he still didn't end the call. His maid thought he forgot to end it so she asked, "Anything else, Sir?"

"Clean the guest room right across mine. Get it?" He asked.

"Yes Sir. Got it." His maid said before he ended the call.

"Here's your room. I'm pretty sure you're used to be in this house right? So treat yourself like home." Jungkook said while he side eyed his maids who were looking at him weirdly. He never gave anyone who visited his house to ise the guest room right across his room except for his parents. But this time, he, himself asked his employee to use the room.

It was kinda rare for them.

But none of them dared enough to ask him. Hyerin looked around, a slight feeling of guilt was felt. "But, don't you think that this room is too big for me? It's the same size of my apartment. I think, maybe I should just go back to my house." She said, feeling not used to live in a gigantic, luxury house. She felt like this place didn't match her.

He stared at her. "Did I make it sound like a wish, Ms Kim? It is an order. I demand you to stay here with me." She didn't really like the way he sounded.

"Sir, this isn't in our agreement. You can't tell me what to do and—"

"So you're calling me Sir, now?" He stared at her with no emotions. Just a blank expression as he blinked his eyes while waiting for her to give him a respond. "You were so friendly and nice to Jimin just now, treated him like a friend, so why can't you treat me the same?" He asked, not so conscious of what he was saying. He talked his heart out; for the first time he let out what he was feeling.

He envied Jimin.

"I told you to just call me by my name and you still talk to me formally. Seems like you got a feeling for him, hm?" He rolled his eyes and turned away, ready to walk away but he didn't expect that Hyerin would hold his arm to stop him. He stopped. "What do you want now?" He scoffed without looking at her.

There was a short silence for a few seconds. The maids weren't there anymore because they had walk away a few minutes ago. "Isn't it rude to call your employer by his name? You're my boss. You pay my salary. I can't do that." She explained.

He finally looked at her again. "Oh really?" He asked.

"Then instead of being my barista, I want you to be my friend. Can you?"
