C11 : Busy

JUNGKOOK RETURNED BACK TO his penthouse once he finished the meeting session with the Kim Company. He kept his mouth shut without letting out any voices for the whole journey home. Either Chan didn't even dare to speak a word when he looked how serious Jungkook was acting.

No one was supposed to talk to him when he was behaving like that. They reached the penthouse building and went to Jungkook's house. "Is everything fine? " Chan finally got the urge to ask him.

Breathing, Jungkook rested himself on his favourite couch and stayed quiet. "Are you worried about the Wonu guy? Want me to settle him down?" He offered to help but Jungkook refused right away.

"No, " he spoke, showing that he didn't want Chan to get involve in his matter. "He just asked me to sparing with him. Nothing to worry about." He stated calmly but his expression spoke the opposite.

"But you look like you're worried. Are you not confident to fight him?" Chan asked for confirmation.

Jungkook scoffed. "Not confident?" He rolled his eyes. "It's just a sparing, Chan. Besides, I don't think that he's that good to be scared of. I can even fight the Korea's boxing athlete so why not him?" He stated the fact and finally, Chan got to calm down.

"Yeah, you're right."

He sat next to Jungkook then looked at him. Didn't get the chance to speak more, the bell suddenly rung, telling that there was someone came to his house.

"Let me get the door," Chan said as he went to open the door.

Thinking that it was Wonu, it turned out that it was actually Hyerin, Jungkook's favourite barista. Chan sighed in relief then asked her, "What are you doing at this time? Aren't you supposed to off today?" He titled his head to the left, showing the cute side of his.

Hyerin couldn't help but to laugh at her sight. It was her first time seeing Chan being cute without his realisation. "I'm here to deliver this bread. Mrs San told me that you and Sir Jeon are already home so I decided to come over to drop them." She answered casually and handed him the basket.

Chan was speechless when she gave him the breads. "Wow, they're already done? Very fast. You did such a great job," he commented. She grinned happily.

"Of course," she giggled.

Suddenly, Jungkook showed up behind of Chan out of nowhere, making Hyerin to stumble to the back as she was shocked to suddenly see Jungkook in front of her. She wasn't mentally prepared to meet him. "Uh, Sir.. Sorry if I'm disturbing you. I just want to give you the breads." She bowed to him.

He took a glanced at the breads in the basket and looked at her with a slight of excitement in his eyes. "The garlic bread with honey?" He asked to confirm. She nodded her head in response.

"Yes, Sir."

He looked so excited, somehow couldn't wait to taste the sweet yet delicious taste of the bread. He had been craving for it since this morning. But getting back to the main topic, he looked at Hyerin who was about to leave and stopped her. "Come in," he invited her in.

She stopped moving and looked at him again. "Pardon?" She asked with her confused face.

"I said come in." He repeated and Chan was secretly shocked that Jungkook repeated himself because Hyerin couldn't hear him clearly. Usually he'd just ask the person to go back or fired them up right away for asking him to repeat the same thing.

Didn't have any other choices, Hyerin had to obey his order. "Sure, sir." She nodded and slowly took her shoes off and stepped into his house.

Hyerin didn't even hesitate to get into his house since she had used to it. Meanwhile other people are being afraid for even to breath the same air with him, Hyerin could just talk to him casually, without any feeling of fear or afraid. She respects him as a boss but she didn't see anything that she should feel scared of since she thinks that Jungkook is actually a good person. Instead, she was confused about why people kept saying that he's a beast.

He was actually normal and just acting strict towards his employees, like other employers would do. They made their ways into the kitchen while Chan decided to talk with Mrs San upstairs. So it was only the two of them in the kitchen.

Jungkook asked her to sit on the counter while he took two plates and handed one of them to her. She raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing? I'm the one who supposed to serve you," she said and was about to stand up but he stopped her.

Shaking his head, he began to speak. "It's okay. It's not your working hour anyways. You're my guest for now so just let me do it," he stated and took out a few pieces of the breads and put them on the plate.

He enjoyed the smell of the breads as his tummy began to growl. "Eat your bread." He said, sounded a bit demanding. Although she had ate the bread at her house with Ally before, she didn't have the urge to turn him down since he had already served the goods for her. She nodded then slowly munched the bread that was made by herself.

Jungkook was silently enjoying every bite he took of the bread. He admitted that he loved everything that was made by Hyerin. It was like a miracle. Nevertheless, he also thinks that whoever gets her as his wife will be extremely lucky because she's not only funny, but also a good cooker. There was a moment of silence between them since Jungkook was busy eating his bread while having a glass of milk beside him. Hyerin laughed mentally at the thoughts that no one ever knows that the Jeon Jungkook that they're afraid of is actually a cute guy at home.

But then, Jungkook began to speak again and she got off from her deep thoughts. "Kim Hyerin," he suddenly said her full name, making her to gulp down her saliva.

"Yes, sir?" She looked sharply into his eyes.

Jungkook

"Kim Hyerin," I called her and all of the sudden, she looked at me in the eyes, making me to have a minor heart attack. I was so surprised when my heart suddenly beats faster than usual. But thank God I was professional enough to control my expression.

I noticed that everytime I look into her eyes, I'd get a goosebumps or even a heart attack. That was because her dark hazel eyes that look like honey are totally captivating. I'd lost myself in her stares.

"Yes, sir." She answered then gulped down her saliva as she thought I was going to yell at her for doing something she didn't even know she did. Carefully inhaling the air, I cleared my throat and changed my sitting posture.

"Do you have enemies?" I asked randomly. I suddenly think of asking her the question to ask for her opinion. Yes, she may seemed childish from the outside. But what I had noticed was; she thinks like a professional person.

The way she talks was rational and based on facts so I didn't think that I was making a mistake by asking for her opinion although I rarely did this to any of my employees. She blinked her eyes after being asked that such of question by me. But she didn't seemed surprised or panicked. Instead, she answered my question calmly. "Having enemies in life is something normal, Sir." She stated after taking the last bite of her bread.

"Everyone is a bad character in somebody's life. Even they're kind hearted because not everyone can see their kindness," she added, "Some of them will assume that as something bad and that's not surprising because that's how life works," she stated. That was such an impressive answer from a young girl like her.

She shoved her plate away then looked at me as she leaned closer to the table. "Why are you asking me this, Sir?" She asked. "I know that someone like you— who has power and wealth is surely have a lot of enemies and opponents, right?" She breathed. Out of the blue, she suddenly let out a soft chuckle. "But, what's life without having enemies? It's actually quite fun knowing somebody is hurting looking at our successes."

Unexpectedly, I nodded my head in agreement. This girl was stating facts. Rational facts. Who expects a clumsy girl like her could think something like that? She then looked at her watch then let out a small gasp. "Oops Sir, it's already late! May I go home now? My friend, Ally is home alone." She was worried about her friend's safety. A caring person I could say.

I nodded in response. But before she leaves, I got to ask her something. "How do you handle the people who dislike you, Hyerin?" I was interested to know.

She discontinued her steps and looked back at me who was looking at her softly as I was supporting my chin with my left hand. The thing she said next somehow affected me.

"I live happily and prove them that their hatred gives nothing to me," she smiled.

I felt that.

At night, I was sitting on my balcony while doing some work that wasn't finished. Well, my works will never get finished. It was like an endless ending and I was trapped in this busy world.

As I was typing on my keyboard, something suddenly hit me; the fact that Wonu knows I play boxing. No one knows that I do boxing as one of the activities when I'm bored. It was like something private but he knows it. I kept thinking of how did he knows the details of me. Did he spy me this whole time?

I wonder if he does. I breathed looked up at the dark sky.

"Hey, Jungkook." Chan suddenly approached me from behind as he sat next to me and looked at my laptop. "You're still working? It's already late." He stated. He always gets worried everytime I work too hard or too late. Chan is like my guardian angel, a protective brother to be exact.

"I still have some stuffs to settle on," I rubbed my face softly while listening to the sound of the wind. Very relaxing.

"Working excessively can affect your health, Jungkook. Be aware of that," he adviced me like he always does. I just nodded my head in response then closed my laptop. "May I ask you something, Jungkook?" Chan asked.

"Sure," I responded shortly while looking up at the sky.

"What do you think about Hyerin?" He mentioned her name and an image of her beautiful eyes crossed my mind once her name was said.

I turned to Chan with a confused expression, pretending to not understand what he was trying to say. "What do you mean?"

He shrugged his shoulders and leaned back to the chair. "I don't know, but the way you treat her is different from the others." He stated while looking at me.

I admitted that and I couldn't deny what Chan said because I really treated her better than my other workers. I heaved a sigh. "You noticed that too?" I asked. "I don't know why do I feel quite comfortable around her. I like the way she talks to me and the way she behaves. Maybe she can be my friend at the same time," I shrugged.

Chan just stayed quiet as he listened to me. He couldn't say anything since he also confident that Hyerin is a good person. "But don't worry, you'll always be my best friend tho. My bestest brother," I patted his back before getting into my room.

He watched me walking away while mumbling, "I don't even mind even if you want to make her as your girlfriend,"
