Silence
"Let's Break - up!" The simple phrasal verb brought deadly silence, amidst the chaos of the restaurant, between them. After this none spoke. He never asked reason behind her decision. He just let her go effortlessly. Once again like a true gentleman he dropped her near a bus station and went away. She wanted this to happen. But she never thought it would end up in such a way. Tears clouded her eyes and disappeared. She controlled them by her will power. She boarded a random bus, as any bus from this station will take her to her destination. The bus was rush as usual. But she boarding a rushed bus was unusual. She switched of her mobile and kept it inside her clutch, only to switch it on, only to see if he tried calling her. But her phone always disappointed her. It's not the mistake of her phone, its the mistake of her, to choose him, to love him and finally to break away from him.
She held her phone in her hands waiting for a call or atleast a small message from him. She constantly kept checking if network was strong, volume was full and even deleted her few favourite songs to free up the memory space. But nothing worked. She got down from the bus and walked towards her room, when her phone rang up, a small smile appeared and vanished, when the caller was her mom. She spoke in her usual tone but mother instinct wasn't convinced.
Her waiting period started from minutes to hours to days to months and finally to a year. Still there was no single call nor a message from him. Only the network provider remained loyal to her and messaged her with different talktime plans, which was useless to her. The customer care calls would bring a small hope, which would vanish in thin air. The whole waiting process made her dejected, devastated and pathetic. In other words depressed.
Added to her miseries her parents fixed her marriage. She agreed as she had no reasons to reject. The initial stage of marriage was rough. She tried every method to run away from marriage, but her husband caged her with love. She was definitely his precious as he did not let her go. But still she could not love him back equally as something was stopping her. Her guilt which was stalking, stopping, haunting and killing her every minute. She had the weird of the weirdest dream and hallucinations. She accepted it as her karma of breaking someone's heart.
With counselling sessions she was getting better not healed, cause the exact problem was not yet solved. She finally messaged her ex through social media app, asking a simple question. "Are you married?". Immediately a reply came from him, "Yes and I really regret loosing you". The single word "yes" bought huge smile, relief and happiness on her face. Her guilt disappeared. She understood that silence can never be an answer.
