Roseland Sweets

The drive to the shop was about half an hour. The silence between Tony and Stephen was filled with talking.

In short, they began to get to know each other. The conversation mostly consisted of random questions (what's your opinion on pineapple on pizza?) until Tony broke a lull of silence after Stephen had given an answer to his last question- after their heated debate over pineapple on pizza. They were extremely divided over it.

"Stephanie, where are we going?" He asked.

Stephen gave him a look. "Don't call me Stephanie, Tony."

Tony just smiled innocently. "But where are we going?"

"Somewhere."

"Where, though?"

"You'll see when we get there."

"Stephanieeee"

"Be patient, you child."

Tony laughed at this. "Daddy, can I have a McDonald's happy meal?"

Stephen choked. Tony gasped.

"YOU HAVE A DIRTY MIND-"

"What can I say, you had the audacity to where skinny jeans. Its not my fault you're hot."

Now it was Tony's turn to flush bright red.

Stephen smirked abd opened his mouth to say something, but before he could Tony's phone rang.

Tony, confused, answered it and put it on speaker.

'Hey guys,' caps voice rang out. 'i know you're on a sort of date thing, and I totally ship it, but can y'all keep it PG13? Please?'

Tony could only stare at the phone. He hadn't told anyone who he was going with- oh. Tony mentally cursed out tbe author as Cap continued.

'Aight, bye!'

The phone beeped and Tony sat in shock.

"Well-" Stephen started, completely bewildered but otherwise unfazed. I mean, he'd seen and heard crazier things before.

"...yeah."

An awkward silence filled the car again as Stephen pulled off the freeway and onto a slightly less busier street.

Tony's eyes wandered to Stephen's hands, scared and shaking, but still firmly gripping the steering wheel.

The streets around them slowly grew less and less busy until Stephen turned onto a side street, drove for a minute and a half, and pulled into a small parking lot.

A tiny brick shop stood there, 20x15 feet if Tony had to guess. It was painted yellow and had a nice brown trim. Cute green letters spelled "Roseland Sweets" on the side.

It appeared to be empty until a plump woman with a kind face seemed to recognize Stephen's car and waved to him from inside. Stephen smiled and waved back before exiting the car and walking around the open Tony's door.

It appeared their 'date' had started and Tony was happy.

Maybe the butterflies in his stomach around Stephen could turn into something more.

Maybe things might just work out.
