Coffee and Sweets

Denki was pacing around his room, waiting for the time to pass before he could leave. He stopped after a short while and climbed onto his bed. He took out his wallet to check once again.

"Okay Denki let's go over this again." He takes out all the money in his wallet. "Mina is getting that new bag she liked. Bakugou is getting a new set of kitchen knifes. Kiri is getting the Crimson Riot crocs, and Sero the game that just came out. That's it. I have all the money." He recounted before placing the cash back into his wallet then into his bag. He takes out his phone and checks his texts. Nothing from Toshi yet. He sighs before getting off his bed. Once again he double checks everything he has before finally opening his room door.

The floorboards creak as he tries to silently walk down the stairs. He doesn't want to disturb the peace since his mother is taking a nap just one room down. She worked late last night, he wouldn't want her to wake up. He grabs his bag's strap tightly before walking down the stairs. Taking a breath in he walks the final step before coming face to face with his father.

"Where are you going? Don't you have homework you should be doing?" His father was a business man. He worked for an electronic company and was the main reason why their company was so big. People find an electric quirk user working in an electronic company sort of calming. They're right. Not only because his dad could easily absorb the electricity when needed, but he was also a calm guy. When he was at work that is.

"I'm going to go out. With my friend." Denki averts his eyes to the floor. Anything else would be better than looking at his father's cold gold eyes. "I mean can I go out with my friend? Mom said yes to it yesterday."

"You're going out? When you could be doing work?" His dad crosses him arms. Mr. Kaminari was always a stern man with his son. Said Denki had potential yet he wasted it everyday. He wanted him to take interest in the company, yet Denki never could. It just wasn't his favorite thing. "I can't let my son be the lowest in his class." Then there's Denki's academics. He was never the smartest of the bunch, but he could pick up some things easier than others. He could easily understand English, literature, and even science when it came to electricity. But that wasn't all the classes at U.A.

"M-my friend will help me with the homework after." It's not true. Though Denki loves Toshi, he couldn't keep asking him for help on homework. He has to figure things out himself too.

"Stand up straight and look at me when you speak." Denki quickly did his corrections. "Who is this friend?"

"Someone from U.A."

"A name Denki. I'm looking for a name."

"Shinsou Hitoshi."

"Oh that boyfriend of yours."

"yes." Denki whispers the last part. His father stars for a few more moments before speaking.

"Okay. You have permission to leave. But if your homework isn't done by tomorrow when I return then do expect the punishment." Not finishing homework isn't the worst punishment ever. He's had worse. Denki will just lose something in his room and he's fine with that. He already sold his games and some of his painting supplies. The worst his father took away was his laptop which forced him to handwrite everything. It's not ideal, but Denki will manage.

"Thank you. I'll get going now." Denki adjusted his bag strap before walking to the door. He paused before deciding to turn around. "Bye Dad."

Mr. Kaminari's face melts from his stern one. "Bye Denki. Be safe and come back at a reasonable time." Denki nods his head in agreement before leaving the house.

This was exciting. Denki was excited. It's his second year at U.A., he managed to get a boyfriend and has wonderful friends. He's going to buy them a Christmas gift this year. Last year, was something else and he refuses to let it happen again. So now he's on his way to the mall. Or at least he would be if Shinsou answered his texts before.

"Toshiiiiiii. How was I suppose to know you'd come get me!" He yells at his boyfriend through the phone. Shinsou just chuckles to his boyfriend's dismay. It's been a few months. Maybe almost a year. They got together a little while after the Sports Festival. Denki may or may not have chased Shinsou down in the hallway to get his attention. Since then it's been smooth sailing, Hitoshi got transferred to the Hero course, they started dating. It's all been going well. Well almost well.

"I said I'd pick you up so we can go together. Papa said it was safer this way, remember?" When Denki found out Shinsou was the son of Aizawa and Mic he absolutely flipped. Other than being constantly terrified of Aizawa if he were to do Hitoshi wrong, which he never would but sometimes he can be pettier than Denki and claim his feelings are hurt when Denki goes to the cat café without him which got Aizawa to agree Denki was in the wrong as well because they are both cat loving demons, Denki demanded to be brought to his house every time Shinsou went home. He loved Yamada-Sensei's cooking and when Eri got adopted he would always come to babysit whenever Midoriya and Mirio weren't available.

"No!"

"Maybe because you weren't listening to what I was saying because someone was too busy trying to take my shirt off."

"Don't word it like that! You were injured, I needed to help you and you picked the worst time to tell me this." Shinsou usually wears a shirt whenever he goes to sleep since the cats like to scratch him sometimes, but the other night he may have taken it off because Denki wanted to be closer to him when they cuddled. You could say this is all Denki's fault in the end, since it kind of is, but he'll never admit it.

"And who's fault was that? Not to mention after you patched it up you-."

"Toshi stop! You're embarrassing me!" Denki covered his face which got a few stares from where he stood. He was right by the station and was going to go on the next train but Shinsou finally answered his texts which resulted in him waiting for Yamada-Sensei and him to pick Denki up.

"I'm not even with you!" He laughs from the other side of the phone.

"Yeah but your with your dad who is always our teacher! You can't say things like that."

"I'm also with Eri and yet they're both ignoring me so I don't see the problem." Shinsou is probably smirking his ass off in the car. Denki huffs before going into the bathroom. He checks if anyone is inside before talking again.

"Hitoshi."

"Yes?"

"I'll call you back later."

"Are you going to hang up on me Denki?"

"Yeah." He looks at the mirror in front of the sink and smiles.

"We'll were outside anyways."

"Damn you."

"Love you too, now get your ass in the car." His boyfriend laughs from his side of the phone and Denki can hear a gasp follow it.

"Toshi you can't talk to Denki like that!" There's a little girl's voice that yells at her older brother and Denki laughs at it but he does hang up before he can hear them bickering.

"So you're here to buy them all a present?" Toshi walks in the mall while holding Denki's hand. Yamada and Eri had already left to go find a present for Aizawa since Hitoshi can't keep secrets. He can, but they don't trust him to.

"Yeah, I've been saving up for a while now." He shrugs before taking out his phone to look at the small list on his notes.

"Isn't your family rich? Like your dad the main spokesman of the company, couldn't you have asked him for some money so you wouldn't have to limit yourself like this?" Shinsou squeezes his hand. He knows that Denki has been working a lot of part time jobs to earn this much, and his grades have been falling behind because of it. Shinsou noticed something wrong when Denki collapsed of exhaustion during one of their dates. It was a bit scary and he freaked out and called his dads, but all Denki really needed was sleep. So in the end he was limited of how many hours he could work a week, so he wasn't earning as much as fast as he'd like. He almost didn't have enough, but he sold off a lot of things in his room. Such as his art and gaming stuff. By the end of the break he'd need to focus on his studies anyways, and he'd rather not have distractions. Even though it took him years to even afford those items since his parents never brought him entertainment things other than for his birthday. They aren't even home on Christmas, they're usually working.

"I know, but I want to do something myself this time. Plus I can't just not get my friends a Christmas gift! I'd be a terrible friend if I did so." He never told Shinsou that he sold his stuff. He didn't really think his boyfriend would like it, he knows he wouldn't.

"Yeah, but you fainted Denki. You shouldn't have pushed yourself so hard. Your friends would've understood." No they wouldn't. Maybe they would if Denki actually explained the full situation to them, but he didn't.

When it was Christmas a year ago everyone had brought each other presents. He didn't know that he should as well. He was home schooled up until U.A. and he never saw people exchanging gifts outside family or loved ones on Christmas. He didn't know about Secret Santa. So he was out of the loop. Everyone brought each other gifts and he even received some of his own. He felt bad. And so when he stood there dumbfounded the day after Christmas, since everyone spent it with their family but he stayed in the dorms since his parents were working once again, he was shocked. He even asked if it was a joke or a prank. It was the worst. Even Bakugou brought them presents. Everyone had at least one thing for each other while Denki had nothing. So he just sat on the couch and watched as they exchanged gifts.  It felt so surreal. He had spent maybe four Christmas's with his parents and that was when he was too young to stay in the house by himself. Not to mention he got presents for the holiday maybe every two years or so. This was all new to him. So when they asked him what presents he had brought he almost cried in embarrassment. He told them he didn't know, must've forgot that it was Christmas. Of course no one believed him, but then again no one knew he was homeschooled before. It's his fault for not telling them or asking them since it seemed like a known thing. So he promised that next year he'd get them gifts. Even if they're weren't all big and flashy, he'd still have to buy them something.

So that's how he ended up with a new job every few months. Every month he made a price goal to buy two gifts for two of his classmates. It was perfect, well almost. All that was left was his closet friends. He had to get them something big.

"It's fine." Denki tugged him into the book store. He immediately went straight to the English novel section. Not only did he get rid of his gaming and art supplies, but he also got rid of a few books. None of his favorites, but he enjoyed everything he ever read so it's a little sad to know it's not accessible as before.

"Don't you have a lot already. Your room is starting to look more like a library now." Denki lightly punches his boyfriend's arm from the joke but ends up chuckling himself.

"Yeah well I donated some, so the library is a bit bare at the moment." He huffs before picking one of the books and flipping through the pages. He hasn't read this one before.

"You donated some?" He looks at the blonde in confusion. He knows Denki loves to read and half of the books he got meant something to him, so getting rid of them so casually sounded odd. "But I though-"

"Come on Toshi, let's get the presents before Eri and Yamada-Sensei are done shopping. I want to show Eri a book here when we're done! Maybe we can get hot chocolate too, or coffee for my big grump bear." He pouts at the end before grabbing his boyfriend's arm. Shinsou decides to let it go. If Denki wanted to talk about it then he would. He doesn't want to push him.

"Okay where to?"

"Let's go to the game store, it's close by right? I'll get Sero's gift first!" He practically skipped out the store. Hitoshi following right after yet he shot a few glances back at the bookstore. He nods his head at the direction before walking after his boyfriend. Denki looks back and grabs his arms to start tugging. "Come on Toshi, what if it gets sold out!"

"Okay okay I'm coming." He chuckles softly at his smaller boyrfriend.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why are we entering a kitchen appliance store?" Shinsou groans. He already went to the game store, which Kaminari knew exactly where the game was. But when they went to the crocs store to pick up his order they almost couldn't find it. A few store calls and one mini breakdown later they found out that a coworker almost stole it. It all went well. Kaminari got the shoes and sadly the worker was fired. Not the point. Now they're going into the kitchen appliance store. To buy knives. For Bakugou of course.

"Kacchan was complaining about how the knives were dull at the dorms and how he couldn't cook chicken with- and I quote 'this piece of shit that's worse more than my math grades'. First of all ouch, and second that bad? Anyways, he's been looking at this new knife set recently but hasn't come around to buy it yet. So I may or may not have threatened him not to buy it so I can get it for him." He mentions before skipping over to the knife section. Shinsou follows him closely, but gets distracted a bit by the cake pans. They were cat shaped. He couldn't help it alright!

"All this for the literal yapping dog?" He picks up the pan to look over it closely. Kaminari hums before answering.

"I did pass my last test because of him." He shrugs. He scans the boxes before seeing the one he needed. He grabs it then turns around to see Hitoshi carrying three mini cat pans.

"Don't judge me." He huffs before walking over to the cash register. Kaminari giggles from behind before following.

"Aww Toshi! I knew you were obsessed but I didn't think it was this bad!" He laughs.

"Eri likes them too. She'd be upset if I didn't buy it." He grumbles before paying the lady. Once he gets his bag he huffs. He steps out of the line so Denki can finish his purchase.

"We're almost done you big baby! We just have to go ang buy Mina's bag, then we're all set."

"This has been one long morning."

"We can get some coffee when we're done shopping. Or maybe hot chocolate instead, you've been drinking too much coffee lately. You're turning more and more into Aizawa-Sensei everyday. I really am a mini Yamada-Sensei then huh?!" Shinsou smiles fondly at Kaminari's words. Ever since his papa told Denki how similar they were he never failed to mention it every chance he could get.

"You can't stop me."

"Is that a challenge Shinsou Hitoshi?"

"It seems like it."

"Okay then. No kisses, hugs, cuddles, no ANYTHING, until Christmas is over." He smiled before skipping out of the store.

"W-wait Denki!" Shinsou calls after his boyfriend. "I can still hold your hand though right? That's what boyfriends do."

"Oh is it? I wouldn't know. I'm dating a caffeine addicted insomniac. Pretty sure there's a difference." He thinks for a moment before picking up his pace.

"Come on Kitten, you know you can't say no to me. Your little game wont last forever." He walks in front of Denki and crosses his arm. Denki looks up at him and raises his eyebrow before smirking.

"I think I'll be fine. Though if you're having difficulty with this then surely you would be able to drink hot chocolate for the week." He walks around the purple haired boy and continues down the path to the purse store.

"A week?! You said just today!" Shinsou speed walks right behind him.

"I changed my mind."

"You can't just do that."

"I just did. Or did you want me to make it a month?" He stops walking to question his boyfriend.

"How about I drink the hot chocolate and you spend the night." He slides his hands to intertwine with Denki's.

"Told my dad I would be home at a reasonable time." He squeezes his hand before pulling it apart and walking into the store. It leaves Shinsou in shock by the entrance and he only has a few seconds to collect his thoughts.

"I could come over your place. I'll make sure you finish all your homework beforehand."

"My my my is Shinsou desperate? This is hilarious. I should tell Yamada-Sensei." Denki looks through a few bags before spotting the hot pink one. He rushes over to make sure it's the correct bag before waving at worker in the store.

"Denki-"

"Hello sir's, what can I do for you today?" The lady at the store walks up to them. Kaminari beams before starting to talk to her about the bag. He takes out his phone to make sure he gets everything right. In the meantime Shinsou quietly leaves the store.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Shinsou where were you! I turn around for one second and you disappear!" Denki starts hitting his boyfriend with the bags of gifts for his friends.

"I went to go get us some hot chocolate. I got you white chocolate since it's sweeter." He hands his boyfriend the cup before taking one of his bags.

"And what's with the bag? I didn't see you buy anything when we were shopping other than the pans." He takes a sip from his drink and beams at the taste. Even though he scolds Shinsou for his caffeine addiction, it's very obvious that Denki has a sugar problem.

"Don't worry about it. I got Eri this doll and I know if I showed you you would've told her all about it." He didn't really. What he did buy was the book Denki was looking at. And a few others with it. Like about 12 more books.

"Not true!" He hughs.

"Okay okay, I believe you. Now come on we have to meet up with my papa and Eri." He starts walking in the opposite direction.

"I can't wait to go home so I can wrap these!" Denki squeals.

"How about we wrap them together?" Shinsou suggests before taking a sip of his coffee. Yes he got coffee. Yes, both of them know that.

"Perfect! Then we'll be finished in no time so we can start the week's homework."

"How about we watch a movie and cuddle instead?" Shinsou grabs Denki's hand and holds it.

"You know I don't cuddle caffeine addicted cat kidnappers."

"It was one time! I didn't know she had an owner!"

"Uh huh."

"Denki come on you have to believe me! I would never take away someone's cat."

"Okay okay I believe you, but that doesn't mean you're getting those cuddles or kisses."

He still holds Hitoshi's hand though. And let's just say that he can be really persuasive when he wants to be. Mind control or not.
