Locations
Long ago, the entire landmass of modern day Coex was 18 separate nations. Although the Coex Region is now unified and modernized, each subregion has its own style, culture, and an elemental type that represents them.
=Jaynoos City=
Jaynoos City is where people are welcomed to the region. It's a port city home to the region's Pokémon professor; Professor Arbor. Jaynoos City was recently built with the latest technology, making it the most advanced settlement known in Coex.
=Densissima Forest=
Densissima Forest is a subregion that is made up of forests. In the core of the forest is the quiet settlement of Simex City. This subregion is a haven for bug types. Beware of the Lethuda that lurks deep within, waiting for unsuspecting prey.
=Exanimum Woods=
As you travel from Densissima to Exanimum, you'll notice a sudden change. There's less healthy trees and more dead, old, grey trees. This is due to problems in the soil, and agriculture is nearly impossible in this subregion. Thus, making the inhabitants dependent on other subregions for food and other vital resources. The major establishment is Tenebris City. The people here have developed a gothic culture, which is very noticeable. Near the city is Tenebris Park, which people use for some form of recreation.
=Acutis Mountains=
Observant individuals notice large jagged mountains from far away. This is the Acutis Mountain subregion, home to a unique race of draconic humanoids called Draconians. Today, modern Draconians still have their culture. A well known Draconian superstition is that all fairy types are bad luck. They are considered "the enemy". Draconians consider dragon types "holy brethren", and praise them as protectors for millennia. Their modernized settlement is Drako Village. Be aware that this race tends to be xenophobic towards humans passing through as they are called "bringers of the enemy". The
=Imperium Fields=
Imperium Fields is home to the largest settlement in Coex; Electrica City. The subregion has a natural electrical field that is caused by a subterranean formation named Inpulsa Caverns. These caverns are similar to Chargestone Cave in Unova, except in Coex, these chargestones are far more potent in electricity, making Electrica City the electric capital of Coex. The Coex Institute of Innovation, C.I.O.I for short, is home to the newly created Pokémon called E-CO, along with several evolutions triggered by special modifications installed into the Pokémon. The subregion's electric field attracted multitudes of electric type Pokémon, especially Magnemite which are often pests in the city, constantly draining the power grid. Nowadays, ground type Pokémon are needed to act as security to get rid of these pesky Magnemite.
=Fabula Woods=
This subregion has several trees with pink leaves, which are this color due to a natural coloration. The leaves give off a sweet scent and is a great source of natural aromatherapy. This in turn, makes people and Pokémon joyous, attracting fairy type Pokémon that make the woods their home. Studies show that Pokémon that require a certain amount of happiness to evolve often do so in the area. Mediokris City is in the core of Fabula. If you're looking for an amazing aromatherapist, bright clothing, or overly sweetened treats, this is the place to visit.
=Crystalli Plateau=
A perfect training ground for fighting types. The plateau is several hundreds of feet off the ground and requires you to travel through a cave that leads to the top, where you will see a small western-themed Pugnatum Town. Inimicus Cave runs through all inside of the plateau. Fighting type Pokémon test their strength on the many boulders found along Crystalli. If you ever need a gym badge, Collin is the one to battle, who trains the Hitmon Brothers, who are all each of Tyrogue's evolutions.
=Flamma Volcanic Plains=
There isn't much vegetation, but this subregion is known for Mt. Calor, which is a dormant volcano. Studies show that the area was once temperate, but then Mt. Calor erupted. Humans managed to live here however. Ignis City is home to Blaire; the fire gym leader. Extraterrestrial fire/rock types, Heateor and Asheroid, often landed here. Past volcanic activity possibly attracted these Pokémon from space as some sort of energy.
=Volantus City=
1000s of years ago, ancient humans created a large floating platform with a metal that has a high magnetic field, causing the entire City to float in the air. Volantus City has no permanent location as it hovers and travels throughout the region. The only way up to the city is by the aid of flying type Pokémon. If the platform's metal looses its magnetic field, the entire city of Volantus will collapse down below...
=Tenuem Forest=
This subregion is known for supernatural activity occurring frequently. The major settlement is Exapiravit City. It was once 2 times larger than it is today, but the other half was abandoned for reasons unknown. Old Exapiravit City is now home to wild Pokémon, especially ghost types. The functioning half however is still inhabited by people. On a hill near the city is Relicta Mansion which was home to a governing body long ago. The city's government was similar to a monarchy that lasted about 5 generations until the last generation monarch was sterile, thus couldn't have children of their own. That person eventually passed away and the mansion was abandoned for quite some time. It is said that the mirrors left in the mansion were inhabited by some wandering spirits and their reflections fill victims with fear.
=Viridi Plains=
Due to the flat land of this subregion, you can see many parts of Coex from countless miles away. This includes Herba City. The city is small with some of the land separating a few buildings. Many homemade materials and items are mostly organic and pure. Outside of Herba city is Flore Meadows which is an area with multiple colored flora that attracts both people and Pokémon from all over.
=Harenosum Desert=
Millions of years ago, this desert was fertile and lush. Climate change happened and the land died. Despite the major loss, Spero's Oasis was remained intact and was discovered by a wandering gypsy named Spero. It is said that people who find their way to the oasis will be greeted by Spero who resides there. Far away from the oasis is Terram City. A large thick sandstone wall is built around the settlement to keep out the occasional sandstorms. These sandstorms barely happen, but when they do, it often leads to deaths or severe injury of individuals with no protective gear on. Recently, it was discovered that humans lived in the desert way before modern humans did. This is proof from the temple that was found buried in compacted sand. Scientists speculate that this civilization and the Hoenn region have some connection due to wall drawings of Baltoy and Claydol coexisting with humans, similar to the ones in Hoenn.
=Frigidum Range=
If you are traveling from Harenosum to Frigidum, be prepared for a sudden change in climate from humid and hot to snowy and cold. Located far north is a mountain range that once had kingdom of some sort. The palace was built within one of the mountains for reasons unknown. Further studies show that the palace wasn't controlled by humans, but a species of intelligent Pokémon. These Pokémon work in something like a "caste system". Instead of being born into a certain class, it all depends on the evolution. The lowest caste Pokémon is Pawnold, the middle class is Hookoze, and finally, the highest caste is either chosen by or forced onto Hookoze. Frishop, Knyo, or Royice. Royice work in a form of monarchy and allows only their offspring to become said evolution. This entire line's primary typing is ice. Humans eventually got involved in their kingdom and they coexisted at one point until humans modernized and built their own settlement which is now modern day Glaches City. The kingdom today is now a dwelling of the descendants of the royal line of Pokémon.
=Patet Hills=
There isn't much history except Normalem Town was constructed a few decades ago. The town's culture is quite bland and nothing much really happens around. It is known as "the most boring city in Coex".
=Caicai Swamp=
It is best to bring repels when entering the swamp. Many dangerous Pokémon lurk in the area including the rare and infamous Yipalurk that resides in the depths of the swamp. Venenum City's Swalot Buffet is known for its massive variety of foods, and you'll often find a slobbish man chomping down that knows a thing or 2 about poison type Pokémon...
=Animo Jungle=
An entire psychic aura engulfs the jungle. It's source is not known, but it gets potent the further you go into the jungle. You'll notice it by seeing small floating landmasses near Animo's core. There was also a lone underground temple that was dedicated to psychic type Pokémon. The only human remains was a skull with a natural opening on the forehead. It was similar to an eye socket. Scientists believe that these humans were highly psychic, and in fact had a "third eye".
=Lapis Excavation=
This entire part of Coex was rich in precious minerals. Miners dug into a natural cave and found a species of humanoid Pokémon now known as Amefist. This Pokémon for some reason protect Pokémon residing in the cave. A mining town near the now called Saxa Mines is Petram City. The city is responsible for the all the mining and shipment of minerals to regions all over the world.
=Ferrum Fields=
This area has a high magnetic field. This is useful for trainers that want to evolve Pokémon such as Probopass and Magnezone that require said field. Ferro City is highly industrialized and polluted, creating a haven for Muk and Weezing lines.
=Salis Shore=
Enjoy the beautiful beaches of Salis. There is an amusement park called Litore Carnival that is open annually. Acua City is a settlement that's mostly known for its famous seaside resort. Each summer however, swarms of Bomsea rise up to the surface and explode, making it extremely dangerous for swimmers and boaters. Take caution. A retired sailor named Rowan helps deal with the Bomsea population by battling them with their fierce water type Pokémon.
=Fwedus Island=
The island is home to the safari Zone and the Coex League. It is located east of Coex. You may enter the Coex League after you have obtained all 18 gym badges. The Safari Zone however is open to anyone. Some people call it a mini Coex due to many miniature subregions found in the Zone.
