Tristan is far different than any gym leader. He is in fact not human, but part of a race called Draconians. This race are draconic in appearance and come in a multitude of colors and variations. Like Violet, he has a fear of fairy types. Tristan never had a tragic past that involved fairy types, but it's only a cultural superstition carried on by Draconians generation after generation.
