Chapter 7: A Prison

The room was so cold, the air musty.

He was laying on something stone-cold, so cold it almost hurt to move.

His eyes were heavy and he could hardly move anything as if all of his energy had just been taken from him.

There was a prickling feeling in his arms and he had enough energy to see the cables and wires that were connected into his arms, sliding under the plates which were around his wrists.

He stared at them for a moment, trying to think and concentrate on everything before his eyes widened, filled with fear and horror. His senses started to come back and he realized why he couldn't move.

There was metal arching around his wrists and ankles, keeping him locked in place and pressed down into what looked like a table of hard, freezing iron which scratched against his back uncomfortably.

Desperately he yanked at them, trying so hard to get out of them and escape from this hell hole.

He was in a cold room, the walls plates with metal and the floor a cool, dark marble. There was a workbench on the other side of the room, paper scattered around on it with the occasional bolt or nail.

Blueprints were stuck to the wall, almost everywhere, but they were too far away for Reboot to see what they were. As well as that he was literally being blinded by the bright light that hung down from the ceiling, humming lowly.

He didn't want to be here, didn't want to stay here any longer.

He could remember this place all too clearly.

A prison.

Eraser ran through Snowdin, his eyes wide as he searched through the whole au. The blizzard was getting stronger and stronger to the point he could hardly see a mile in front of him.

It was freezing, but he didn't let that stop him from trying to find the swap creator.

The footsteps and any signs that could have once been in the snow had been blown away or covered up by the snow which seemed to engulf everything in its path. Including him-

Gaster must have had something to do with this.

Who else wanted something to do with Reboot apart from himself and that crazy scientist!?

The wind howled around him, every gust of wind sending shivers up his spine violently. He had to stop. He couldn't go on in this weather, he'd be asking for death.

He looked around one more time, !we with nothing but harsh snow, only the path under him visible before he teleported back into his living room. Landing on his feet snow fell from his shoulders and he gritted his teeth at the cold that started to grow and eat at him slowly.

He grabbed his eraser which had been discarded in a corner, strapping it to his back quickly before opening a portal, running in and leaving his home behind.

He jumped into the doodle sphere, looking around for Ink. The previous creator was nowhere to be seen and Eraser slightly panicked, making another portal to the void. Why did he think Ink was there? Honestly, he did not know.

Eraser stepped in, looking around the white, blank void to see strings everywhere. He swallowed and squinted his eyes to see Ink and Error sitting down against bean bags, talking and eating what looked like ramen.

The destroyer let out a glitched laugh at something and Ink happily grinned.

Eraser hesitated before teleporting over to them, making Error hiss  slightly at his sudden appearance.

Ink blinked and frowned, "Eraser? What's wrong?" He asked with concern as he looked the Swap destroyer up and down.

The swap destroyer looked terrified to be honest

"Reboot... H-He's gone. When I can back he want there!? Everything was a mess!!" He panicked slightly, "I-I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to do!?"

Ink got up quickly, Error just watching and stuffing his face with noodles. "You need to calm down!!" He said, even though he looked as if he was about to panic as well.

"I-I'm sure they're is a proper explanation for his disappearance -"

" WELL THAT'S GASTER ISN'T IT!! "

Error blinked and narrowed his eyes, "you need to calm the fuck down."

Eraser slowly turned his head and looked at him, "I'm sorry. What!?"

Error growled and got up quickly, gripping his hands into fists.

Ink squeaked and got between them quickly, "stop! This is so stupid!? There's no point in fighting while Reboot might be in danger. "

The two destroyers glared at each other before pulling away.

Eraser sighed sharply, "if you're not going to help them I'll find him myself .," He hissed before teleporting away.

Ink squeaked, "wait I never said I-" Erase was gone and Ink frowned and cut himself off , looking over to Error who had gone back to casually eating his ramen. Ink narrowed his eyes and Error grinned, "what? I'm hungry -"

Reboot panted as he yanked at the restraints violently, determined to get out. He hated everything about this place.

Everything was sealed, not windows, no other colours but black, grey and white.

It was a literal definition of hell to him.

His wrists and ankles ached and thronged with pain, wincing as he tried to set himself free one more time before giving up..

It was no use. There was no way he could get out of the now.

There was a distant clank, as if a door had closed and Reboot found himself gazing towards the door which was far from where he lay, his eyes wide with terror.

He could hear footsteps which echoed, getting louder and louder with each step and second.

He yanked at the restraints harder, desperate to get out at this point.

And soon the footsteps were incredibly loud before they stopped, right outside of the door.

He went silent, swallowing quietly as he stated at the door handle.

It started to turn slowly, someone was opening it.

Reboot squeezed his eyes shut and prayed to the stars, trying to pretend he was asleep even though he was hardly in the position to.

The door opened with a click and the footsteps resumed.

They got closer and closer, halting next to him, as if the person was inspecting him.

Reboot didn't dare open his eyes, didn't dare gasp for breath as he held it.

Too overpowered with fear and terror which had engulfed him.

The person tapped at the restraints and then checked the wires and cables before walking away, presumably over to the workbench.

Reboot slowly opened his eyes, turning his head to see who it was to see a tall man haunched over a desk.

He wore nothing more than black trousers, smart shoes and a lab-coat which was long and swayed to the side every time he moved.

Then the man straightened his posture and turned to face Reboot who cringed and flinched.

It was the same man from his dreams, the same man who had haunted his thoughts and mind.

Gaster purred in delight, his throat rumbling slightly as he slipped on a pair of white gloves.

"Welcome home, experiment ~"
