Chapter 2: Trust Me?

My eyes shot open as I woke up with a gasp of shock, sweat dripping down my face as I sat up slowly. 'That dream.... why does it seem so familiar to me?' I dug my face deep into the blankets of a bed for a little while before looking up."W-wait... Where am I?" I said as my gaze moved around the room with widened eyes. I didn't like this, then I remembered how Eraser was trying to get to me and realised that this room must have had something to do with him.
This wasn't good, I was vulnerable and injured. He could easily hurt me or... Destroy me. The thoughts made me shiver as I moved my body to the edge of the bed, groaning as my ribs started to hurt. My soul appeared in front of me and gently I held it in my hands, examining it and trailing my fingers against the cracks that covered it. Luckily it was healing itself...
My eyes soon drew away from my unnatural soul that disappeared, I stared at the door, wishing to open it and leave.

The tips of my feet were just about to touch the wooden floor when I heard a noise from outside of the room, footsteps. My soul's beating quickened in fear at the thought of who it might be and swiftly, I got back under the covers of the bed, closing my eyes tightly and pretending to be asleep. The footsteps became louder and louder as I bit my tongue, feeling the sweat that dripped down my head. Then they stopped, right outside the room and the sound of the door opening echoed through the room, someone came in.
Then I heard a strong and seemingly irritated voice. "Reboot. I know you're awake." I stayed silent and still before hearing a long sigh. Slowly I opened my eyes a little, trying to see who it was. They scanned the room and eventually spotted  seeing the figure of Eraser standing there, the minute I saw him I went into a stage of complete terror. I scrambled around in the blankets and ended up falling off the bed with a yelp of pain. Instinctively I wrapped my arms around my ribs as a few tears streamed down my face, the pain was coming back, I didn't want to be here. Looking around I saw my scarf and art tablet on a chair next to the bed and I immediately dragged myself awkwardly to it, grabbing my belongings and wrapping the scarf around my neck. Eraser watched me, not saying a single word but watching my art tablet suspiciously as if I was going to create something.

Eventually I spoke to him, not at all with any confidence.
"W-where am I?" I asked, leaning my back against a wall and glancing around for any source of an exit besides the door which Eraser seemed to me guarding. He looked at me. "Your in my house in Underswap." He said calmly. I sighed in relief, I knew my way around Underswap. Now all I needed was a way to get out of this house... Just when I thought that I saw a window. 'Great.' I thought, pulling my hand behind me and summoning my blue lazers that silently went around the room and behind Eraser before they grabbed his feet, making him fall with a look of shock."W-woah?!" As he yelped I quickly stood up with a groan, my arms around my ribs as I stumbled to the window and opened it. Eraser stared at me, trying to get out of the strings before he summoned his eraser, smashing it against them and deleting them. He stood up and looked at me with widened and sour eyes. "Reboot! Don't! Your already hurt you need to be healed?!" His words shocked me as I stared out the window.
"W-why do you e-even care?! You've tried so hard to kill me over times but now y-you want me to get better!?" I screamed as he stared at me. He looked away and I shook my head before shooting out the window, creating an inky hand under me so that I landed safe and sound. The hand soon disappeared and I ran towards the edge of a forest.

Eraser's P.O.V

I quickly ran to the window and saw Reboot running towards the forest. "Shit." I spat before swiftly jumping out and landing on both feet safely. I ran after him shouting. "Reboot!!! Come back!!!" I gritted my teeth. 'Dammit. How is he so fast?! Why am I even bothered to get him?!' Shaking my head I continued, he looked at me in terror before shooting into the forest with his scarf flying behind him. The trees started to thicken as we chased each other deeper and deeper into the forest. Soon I had lost sight of him and was now looking around without any idea on where he went. Just then I noticed a trail of fresh blood in the snow and I quickly followed it, determined to find him. The amount of blood seemed to increase in the numbers of drops in the snow making me follow them even faster. In the distance I spotted someone curled up against a tree and I teleported there to find Reboot there shaking and bleeding. "Ah fuck." I kneeled down into the snow making it crunch and Reboot flinched, not looking up. I felt sympathy for him and understood him for being afraid but I had to try and hide those thoughts. "I told you not to run off. Now look at what you've done to yourself." I said harshly as he whimpered.
I picked him up and he immediately started to pull up a struggle, trying his best to get out of my grip as if he was some kind of wild animal. "Stay still dammit!?" Shouting at him seemed to make him give up in his attempt to escape. I could feel his tears that were running from his eyes, either falling on me or into the snow. Just then I heard a strange and mechanical voice.

*Low Battery- charging*

"Wait... What." I looked down to see that Reboot had gone limp, there was a strange screen in front of his face saying '3% battery-charging.' I stared at it. "Er..." I stood up with him in my arms, watching him. "Is he a robot? No... He has actual blood." I looked at his face, I could feel a dusting of grey appear on my cheeks and I quickly attempted to wipe it off however gave up due to failing. Slowly I started to walk back, thankfully it hadn't started to snow yet so I easily followed my footprints back through the forest.

While I walked hadn't at all paid attention to his much battery Reboot until I heard another mechanical voice.

*100% Battery*

I watched him and his eyes suddenly shot open, both of them filled with fear and terror. He started to scramble around making me almost trip over a log, before I could react he had jumped out of my arms and was scampering up a tree with speed, he obviously knew how to climb well. "Reboot. Get down from there." I growled in a low voice as I watched him look down at me in the eyes. He shook his head and suddenly jumped into another tree, then another and then even more, he started to move through the trees in order to get away from. Swiftly I started to run after him, inky creatures coming out of portals all around me as I summoned them. They jumped into the trees about to look for him but they were soon held back by blue lasers that shot out from everywhere, grabbing them and holding them in the air like rope.

I ran past them, not bothering to erase the lazers that I recognized from the countless battles I had fought against Reboot. He would always use them to grab my attacks or to attack me. However he never attacked me directly. It was like he... was afraid to? I shook my head as I followed the patterns of falling leaves that came from the trees above and before me. Drops of blood fell from some of the rustles and they hit the snow, causing it to become red.

The rustling seemed to become more uneven, like he was struggling to keep going. He was getting tired probably because of his wounds that hadn't healed completely or properly. I gritted my teeth as I slowed down my running. "Reboot! Just give up!?" Shouting I stopped running completely as the rustling of branches were no more. Just then heard a giant crack and something fell from the branches in front of me. I approached the object, picking it up I realised it was his art tablet. I looked up as I held onto it. "Er... do you want your tablet?" No one answered but I could hear the quiet crying of Reboot in the trees. Rolling my eyes and sitting down against a tree I stayed there.

After what seemed like hours I had almost fallen asleep. My eyes where just about to close when I heard something I looked on to see blue strings making their way down from the trees to the ground. I stayed still, my eyes half closed to make myself look like I was asleep. A few more lazers appeared before Reboot came, the lasers acting like a safety line that helped him down as he smiled a little at them, an arm around his chest. His feet touched the ground and I closed my eyes a little more so that I could still watch him. He turned to look at me nervously and cautiously, he approached me. After a few minutes he was finally in front of me, he crouched down and picked up his art tablet that had been next to me. Quietly he took it and seemed to smile at me as he drew something onto it. I watched him draw with his fingers and a graphic pen before he pushed a button. A blue blanket appeared on his lap and he took it, covering me up with it. The blue lasers helped him up, helping him to walk away and into the trees. He looked at me one last time and I opened my eyes slowly, looking back at him with a surprised look. Reboot flinched a little but he stood there, still looking at me with widened eyes.

Slowly I stood up, holding the blanket with a hand as I stood there. "Okay Reboot. I'm not going to hurt you, okay?" I spoke as he looked down at his chest which was bleeding. I took a step forward and he whimpered. "Come on Reboot, you need to be healed and running is not going to help."

Reboot held his wound tighter with tears forming in the corners of his eyes before he let out a few shaky words. "I-if I c-ome with you... W-ill you... n-ot hurt m-e?" Without thinking I nodded, hell I didn't even know why I was caring about him at this moment. Hesitantly I nodded with a small smile to try and make him trust me more. Most of his lazers vanished, the rest helping him as he slowly started to walk toward me. The fear was clear in his eyes, who wouldn't be scared at their most vulnerable moment? I took a few steps closer to him, a hand outstretched out him. Reboot looked at it, seeming to make the choice of what to do. However, I eventually felt his hand touch mine, a light dusting of grey upon my cheeks as I clasped my fingers around it. The swap creator was looking away nervously as he bit his lip. My eyes were drawn to his wound he was covering, blood trickling down from it when his eyes winced in the pain he seemed to be stuck in.

The lazers completely disappeared making him stumble a bit as I teleported us both back to the house in Underswap. He looked around, his eyes clouded with fear as I unlocked the door. I didn't say anything, a light tint of grey was on my cheeks as I took him in, my magic being used to close the door behind us. Taking him up to his temporary room he placed his tablet cautiously onto the small desk that was next to the bed, keeping an eye on me as I watched. I left the room, returning with a wet towel and a roll of bandages as I sat down onto the edge of the bed next to him. "I need you to take of your shirt if you want your wound to heal any better." Reboot nodded, pulling his shirt off with a light tint of blue upon his cheeks. He was looking away the whole time as I cleaned it. Guilt was washing over me from the fact that the wound had something to do with me, stopping I examined it. Two of them. Strange... I only destroyed one au... Shrugging I started to wrap it with the clean bandages, ignoring Reboot whenever he flinched at my actions. Eventually I finished, wiping my hands clean. "Y'know. You could at least thank me." I spoke, not getting an answer from the smaller skeleton. I rolled my eyes, getting him into the bed and pulling the blankets over him. He turned, looking away from me.

Reboot's P.O.V:

I peeked towards him, I was still scared. Who wouldn't be? Although he healed me I was confused on why he would even do so. He walked out of the room, closing the door behind him, not saying a single word. His footsteps echoing down the hall and soon silence returned. My chest still hurt however after it being cleaned and wrapped it felt better than it did before. Wrapping my arms around myself  I let out a small sigh before closing my eyes, falling asleep in the bed.

I was falling

What kind of dream was this??

White was all that surrounded me yet it started to change to black, I looked around

Nothing

I landed onto the floor, cold and hard as I sat up with a groan. My eyes scanned the strange place. It seemed to bring back memories of some time before, but what was strange was...

that I couldn't see what they were, what they were about.

Why?

I stood up, walking around only to look down and see that I was walking on a strange black, sticky substance. I was about to pick some up when I heard an unnatural noise coming from far behind me.

Glancing over my shoulder I saw someone, they were looking directly at me. They seemed to be melting... Wait... The dream I had before! The hands were around the person yet they were deformed strangely.

He started to walk towards me, slowly with his back bent forward so that we was facing downwards. I stood still.

Eventually he was right in front of me, I could see the strange scars that were over both of his eyes. His eyes were black voids, a shiver going down my spine.

"☝☼☜☜❄✋☠☝💧 ☼☜👌⚐⚐❄📬

I flinched at his strange use of language. "W-what?"

He smirked before speaking once more.

"Greetings Reboot. It's nice to see you after a long time."

I froze
