Chapter 4: No going back

The five Surren soldiers walked into the Surgery room. The lights were off, and they left their night vision goggles back in the van. “Perfect. The one time we need em… Hey, I think I found somethi… Ugh!” One soldier tried saying, but abruptly stopped. “Private Thompson? Are you alright?” The ‘first soldier’, who had a flashlight on his weapon, shined it in the direction of Thompson’s voice. The four soldiers weren’t ready for what they saw. Thompson had a scalpel, embedded deep in his chest, right about where the heart should be. “Oh my Arceus… I-is he?” the soldier with the light was shaking. “Dario! Control yourself! Kenji, Uriah, look around for the threat.” The ‘second soldier’ ordered. “Jenkins, I don’t think this was a good idea…” Dario stepped back toward the door. Suddenly, Dario fell without a sound. Three almost empty syringes were in the back of his neck, with an unknown liquid in the tubes. “What the hell is in these?” Kenji looked at a tube. The Surren soldiers weren’t expecting a response… but they got one anyways.
A voice in the darkness casually answered “Morphine, fifty grams of coke, and a whole lot of whoopass.” The three soldiers looked around for where the voice came from. After about five seconds, Kenji made some kind of gurgling noise. Jenkins picked up Dario’s weapon, which had the flashlight attached. Kenji was lying on his back, blood pooling on the floor. His throat had been slit. Uriah and Jenkins were carefully looking around when they felt something wet at their feet. “Is this place flooding?” Uriah was a bit skeptical. Suddenly, the lights turned on. Luke was standing by a machine. “Hey.” He had his katana positioned above a machine’s wiring. Uriah and Jenkins aimed at Luke, but before they could shoot, Luke’s blade cut the wires, which fell into the water pooled up on the floor. Luke, standing on the operating table, smiled as he flipped the machine on. He laughed maniacally as the Electric current was sent through the water, electrocuting the two soldiers.
Luke turned the machine off, and after a while, walked back to his stuff, taking the AK out of his bag. He walked to the bodies of Jenkins and Uriah. He cocked the AK and fired a full round into Uriah’s body. He walked over to Jenkins’ body and, using the katana, he stabbed the body through the neck, nearly severing the head. He then took the scalpel out of Thompson’s chest, blood spilling all over his arms when he yanked it out. Luke smiled sadistically as he cut Dario’s shirt off and used the scalpel to write words on his chest. When he was done, he cleaned the blood off his arms and packed his stuff up. “Rest in pieces, cocksuckers. And tell your boss I said ‘Fuck you’!” He said before closing the door on the surgery room.

Luke felt his blood boiling. “Probably just a side effect of the serum...” Luke thought to himself as he ran, trying to find a place to hide for the night. Then his vision began to get blurry. “Ok… That’s not good… But I can’t stop here…” And he kept on running. A few miles his head began to feel light. “I….can’t….give up…” He told himself over and over again. He slowed to a jog, then to a walk before finally collapsing on the roadside.“What...the hell…?” He couldn’t feel any of his limbs anymore. Before long, Luke had completely blacked out.
