Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed Codename: DEMON! I certainly had fun writing it. It was nerve wracking watching the word count. I kept on getting worried that I'll end up cutting a lot of what I want to tell just to make sure it remains at 40k words.

In fact, I already did cut a few things. Anthea was supposed to be more relevant and tell Greyson about Lucinda and Deimos since she knew them in the past, there was the conflict with Azul and Ciel since Ciel kept getting nightmares ever since he used his ability on Anthea, and DeiLuce was supposed to end in angst but someone held me at gunpoint. 

But now, we're completed at 39486 words. I'm just hanging by, but hey. It's less than 40k. Maybe even less than 40k if I get the chance to edit it and cut off unnecessary words. 

Since you guys are at the postface, how about I tell you the original plan for Codename: DEMON. Featuring everyone's favorite, beta Greyson :DD

Originally, Greyson was supposed to be a sixteen year old guy, but he's actually like four or five. The reason for this was that he wasn't meant to be a real person. He was something Lucinda created. Lucinda was supposed to be the one who had his abilities. She created Greyson to see if she could make a vessel to transfer herself before she died so she could live forever. But after creating Greyson, she decided against it and let him live his own life. 

If it sounds familiar, then yes. It did end up being the base for Viktor's backstory with Zeus. Oh also because it was literally the Inazuma story for Genshin Impact, which was one of the reasons why I decided to not do it :iminnocent:

I did almost end up continuing that route, though. Or at least, something similar. When I first published Chapter 1, Greyson was still an artificial being that Lucinda created, and he could even manually remove his memories and emotions just by transferring them to a computer. But by Chapter 2, I ended up changing it.

But at least you didn't get an edgy sixteen year old who wanted to kill his mom. Instead, you got this bby twelve year old instead who has issues because child labor go brr or something. 

If you're wondering if this is the end, then fret not. I'm planning to write a prequel anthology featuring the Investigation Squad and how they all ended up being in the Investigation Squad. It's going to be published sometime this year. But for now, I'm going to be focusing on another project. 

If you haven't seen it yet, it's called 'Even Gods Will Fall', and it'll be published Saturday my time! At the same time, I'm also rewriting Untitled offline.
