CODE 75 Shoot
Lucifer was in Egypt with Ameradite and Clanthido. Egypt of the 20th century. The sun overhead was shining bright. Lucifer walked around topless as he couldn't bear the woollen turtleneck covering his body.
Clanthido, who was wearing a white sweater and a black sweatshirt beneath it, didn't seem affected at all. Lucifer felt hot just by looking at him.
"I'm dying," Lucifer said as he looked at the sun, "My head is spinning, I think I'm gonna have a stroke. I wanna go back to Switzerland,"
Ameradite stared at the pyramids and slowly walked towards them. Clanthido looked at her, "What happened?"
"...Nothing,"
They had to look for a place to stay at night, and they found an old hotel room. Lucifer lay on the bed and immediately fell asleep. Ameradite looked through her bag and found certain files, papers and the book she had been reading on her way to Earth. She took a pen and highlighted most of the stuff she read. She looked at the picture of the pyramids in the book and then looked into her research papers.
She took out a pendant and opened it like a dicotyledonous seed, producing a hologram before her. It was a picture of Evelyn and her, standing in front of her house with her holding a bouquet of seaweed and luminous flowers in her hand. She zoomed into her house and then traced the picture of the pyramid over it.
She kept it aside and walked towards the window. Wind surrounded her and she flew into the sky with a file in her hand. She reached the pyramids and went inside them. She looked around at the various vessels and items stored in the depths. But what caught her attention were the inscriptions on the walls.
She looked at the same writings she found in that excavation site on Kelgester.
It matched.
. . .
"Clanthido," She shook Clanthido and he woke up, "What happened, Ameradite, I'm tired,"
Her eyes were glowing. He got up and looked at her, "You used your powers?"
She just looked into his eyes and then at the sky.
"Clanthido," She pointed at the sky through the windows, "Beyond that is our galaxy,"
"Yeah?"
"There is life there too,"
"Yeah,"
"What happens when both the life forms meet? Humans and Kastrains?"
"It would be good I guess?"
"Yeah, we have to find Xelveyni and get out of here as soon as possible. We cannot interact with humans,"
"Why?"
"Imagine, Clanthido, imagine life itself, not living or dying, but the DNA structure of a multitude of living organisms working together to form larger lifeforms like humans animals etc, is a staircase." She moved towards the window, "Many previous generations of cells out there in space have tried to become "Life" But if we find extraterrestrial life forms that mean there has already been a bacterial cell that has evolved before us meaning that we are not the leader on the staircase, and a supposed death wall could approach," She picked her papers, "Finding remains of alien life would mean that there were others who tried to find the staircase."
Clanthido looked at the papers,
"If the said thing would be discovered it means that the human race has a way smaller chance of existing for any longer than let us say a few million years at this point. We simply don't know if finding ways to travel fast enough to reach other planets outside of our galaxy is even possible. But if others tried, and failed. It has a huge negative effect on humanity at its current state and even Kastrains,"
"What are you trying to say?"
"Kastrians are former humans," She looked into Clanthido's eyes.
"...What?"
"All I can say is that the earthly civilisation was highly advanced once, maybe even more technologically civilised than us, but then I guess, something really bad happened that wiped out everything. But the rich managed to escape in a spaceship, travelling for centuries in a white ship throughout the universe until they found Kelgester and adapted themselves to the planet. Meanwhile, those left behind on Earth just had to rebuild everything again."
"...How...can...Why do you think that?"
"Everything points to that. The papers you have with yourself, those are actually inscriptions I found at an underground city in Mehlakit in Kelgester. They used the same language, ancient Egyptian. Plus, our houses resemble the pyramids. But the pyramids on Earth are younger than those we found in the excavation sites, which could only mean one thing,"
"What?"
"I believe that...you and I or even Xelveyni are not the first Kastrains that came to Earth, maybe someone came here before us, had a good time among humans, taught them math, help them make the pyramids, and later, they got stuck here. Xelveyni got stuck here, and if we don't leave, we will be stuck here too,"
"Why do you think that?"
"I found this on one of the pyramid walls," She showed him a picture of a Kastrian like being, sitting with their legs crossed. Clanthido looked at her,
"Someone here knows about us, they know who Kastrains are. They are looking for us like hungry savages. If we stay here, then one day, they will find us, capture us, use us and slowly kill us,"
.
Ben shrieked as he felt electricity pass through his body. His body was submerged inside a blue liquid, chained with wires and syringes all over his skin.
"PLEASE, LET ME GO!"
. . .
"So, you want to go back to Kelgester?"
"Yes,"
"What about Xelvyni,"
She chuckled, "I'm pretty sure he is not alive anymore," She looked at Lucifer, "He's the son he left with me,"
. . .
Ben punched the glass of the chamber, "Oh no, it's coming again!" He cried, "Please let me go! Please-"
As the minute hand of the clock struck twelve, a strong electric shock passed through the wires into the water, and passed through every fibre of his body, he shrieked. The cavities outside the chamber filled with his boiling blood that melted into steam. The steam mixed into the electricity and triple amount of electric energy came out of the generator.
Every hour, there was a five-minute-long shock wave that absorbed energy from his body and converted it to usable energy. Ben felt numb again after the shock wave was gone,
"Oh God...
When will I die?"
. . .
"You will take this human with you?" Clanthido asked.
"Yes," She said, "We cannot let him become an object too,"
. . .
Coelestin sat in an air-conditioned room, writing a letter. As soon as he pressed the seal on the letter, a hologram appeared before him,
"Good evening sir, you called?"
"Yes, Andreas, I want to fight a case,"
"What is called?"
"State versus Evelyn Benjamin,"
Andreas Mikaello, the greatest lawyer in the world, was now hired, just as Giles asked Coelestin to. The notices had been published and the preparations for the bail were ready. The first hearing was dated November 21st, 2432.
"We can't let him get the bail. Shut the judge up with some money," X said as he marched through the halls while fixing his watch.
"I can't," Loan said.
"Why not?" X asked as he looked at Loan with his deep blue eyes, shining through his black masquerade.
"Because his highness is himself judging this matter,"
"I'll talk to him,"
And thus landed X's aeroplane, on the soils of Switzerland. Coelestin decided to give him an hour of his life. They sat in a garden, both him and Coelestin,
"So, your highness, I was thinking about Ben's case,"
"Why are you thinking about it? It's none of your business," Coelestin said.
The maids covered their mouth to hide their laughter. Coelestin smirked, "Need more tea?"
"No, thank you, your highness." X plastered a smile.
"I can't wait to see Ben in the court on Monday,"
"Yes, your highness," X smiled.
Loan found a young boy who slightly resembled Benjamin and paid him for the services he was about to provide. In the light of a fortune, especially under a falling economy, he agreed immediately. They did his makeover to make look like Ben and then took him to Switzerland for the hearing.
It was Monday morning, that hearing was being telecasted worldwide. Prince Coelestin walked in with his royal guards. Once he was seated, Ben was brought inside the courtroom. Andreas was ready with his files and arguments.
As soon as Coelestin looked at Ben, he stopped them,
"Hang on, that is not Ben,"
"No, your highness," Loan smiled, "This is Evelyn Benjamin, look, pink eyes, brunette hair-"
"That is not Ben. I've seen Evelyn Benjamin from up close. He looks completely different from this potato you've brought in here."
"Mr Loan, what is going on?" X asked.
"His highness says that this person is not Ben,"
X laughed, "Why, this is Benjamin,"
"Are you trying to gaslight me? He is not Ben, now stop playing before I get both of you arrested for trying to cheat the court, where is the real Ben?"
"This is Ben-"
"He is not Ben!" Coelestin shouted.
"Who said that?" X smiled.
"I did," Coelestin said.
"And who are you?"
"The crown prince of the world, in case you forgot your manners,"
"Wrong, you are not a crown prince, you are a helpless, vulnerable little boy who has no family, no lover and who sadly lives in a post-war society,"
"Asshole," Coelestin got up and the power supply of the courtroom died, all the cameras shut down. Loan shot him in the right eye and Coelestin fell on his knees as blood flowed down his right eyes,
"GUARDS! WHAT ARE YOU DONG?!"
All the guards pointed their guns at Coelestin. Maybe it was the last time he was looking at light.
