CODE 49 X-DROID

Evelyn, Valorie and Giles were gone. Lucifer lay alone under the bridge, with his eyes closed. Gotham looked at him, "Someone saved him..." He swam towards him and jumped at him, but suddenly she felt pain in her lower half.

She saw blood floating it the air and looked back, he torso and tail went in different directions and fell into the water. Asselyum had cut her body into two parts with her hands.

The water turned red as Gotham went down. Allianz looked away from Norman and ran towards the water. Axel and Riley looked at them from above the bridge.

Everything was quiet. Asselyum sat under the bridge, on the opposite side of Lucifer. Slowly, she heard something. It was faint initially, but grew stronger. Gotham was singing from beneath the water.

"This song left such an eerie feeling, ugh!" Riley pressed his head, "I feel like throwing up."

The song ended and left the ground shaking. MiK and Norman looked at each other and Allianz laughed, "You guys are so dead now." She said.

"X-DROIDs are coming," Lucifer was sitting.
"Are you okay, Lucifer?" Norman asked.
"How many?" Asselyum asked.
"I can't count, there are many."

Asselyum got up and flew towards the top of the bridge. She couldn't believe what she saw--It was a huge army of X-DROIDs, big and small, covering all the streets around the bridge.

She jumped down on the bridge. "We are surrounded."
"Great! We can attack in all directions!" Jimmy raised his arms.
"Can you stop being so blonde?!" Axel shouted.

"How do I do it? There are like hundreds of them and Lucifer can't fight." She said. Riley and Axel looked at her.
"Well, you got us!" Denis shouted. Asselyum looked up and Riley and Axel turned back.

The entire bridge was filled with all the skateboarders of the town, each of them holding some weapon.

"You guys can't fight." Asselyum said.
"But we have to." Frank said, "This is our city and we protect it."
"We can't burden it all on you!" Denis said.

Asselyum looked at Riley, "Say something."
He turned towards them, "Boys! If we win this-- The treat is on Axel and Asselyum!"

"What the fuck-- Why me?!" Axel shouted and all the X-DROIDs broke into the river and the bridge.

Riley picked up a screwdriver from Axel's toolkit "Go!" And they all ran towards the X-DROIDs.

"Oof-- I feel like I'm in a game." Axel dodged the X-DROIDs as he ran down the bridge.
"Why don't you fight too?" Jimmy asked as he fought.

"Because in this we cannot revive ourselves after we are killed--Shoot!" An X-DROID attacked Axel and he shrieked, "Don't eat me! I haven't took a bath since three days!"

But it seemed the X-DROID didn't care. He was over Axel when someone shot at him, and it fell on the ground. Axel turned to see who it was.

"Mr James?!" Mr James was wearing black sunglasses and held a runblaster in his hands.

"Hey, what the fuck--Why is his outfit cooler than mine?!" Jimmy complained to Lupin.

Lupin wrote something, "Jimmy...Nobody cares. They can't even see you." It read.
"Aw man!"
Axel stared at Mr James, "Erm."

Mr James smirked, "I'm not just any boomer." He threw a runblaster at Axel. "Fight, kiddo."
"What the fuck happened?"

Slaine walked through the halls in his sweatshirt. He had used his hoodie as a bait again. It was late at night but Ben was awake in his cell. He looked at Slaine and got up, "I knew you'd come." He smiled.

"You waged a war against entire humanity to the point were the human race wiped out, just to prove a point that humans are evil?"
"You deserve to see it."

"How haven't you realised that you might be the biggest evil?"
"I have realised it, that's why I sent Asselyum to kill the past me."

"If we kill you, won't it create a time paradox?"

"It won't. It will be a breaking point of the timeline where available spectrum of new realities will open up creating a parallel world without me."

"That won't fix the current situation, Evelyn. This is not a solution. People are dying--Good people."

"I... don't care. Good people don't exist, you're not good either, nor am I."

"I'm sorry, Evelyn. I'm sorry I left. And did everything that I promised I wouldn't." Slaine pressed his head on the bars, "Half of the world is dead, the other half looks at you with hope that you will save them. So, it's up to you--What will you give them? Like other humans, would you abandon them too or would you fight for them?

Humans avoid effort. But when we fight, we just fight. You started this war in a small laboratory--Not any human but you, Evelyn. So, I ask you--How are you any different?"

"...I hate you so much."
"Yeah, I know."
"You are the worst!"
"I know."

"You put me here. You made me feel like shit--The person who was supposed to love me with everything, left me with nothing! Nothing!"

Evelyn began crying as he slowly rolled down the bars, "For moments of happiness, I let you in and you left me with an eternity of pain. I just want to be left--the hell alone!"

"No, no you don't."

"You're cruel... You taught me how to love, even when you didn't. You didn't love me. So stop coming back!"
Slaine sat down and looked into his eyes, "What?" Evelyn asked.

"You need to move on. You can't bring back the dead. Who are you fighting for? I don't even exist in this world. At this point, aren't you just torturing yourself? Time won't change things, you have to change them. If you don't do something now, you'll never be able to do anything again.

I know, things are not in our favour. I know that we might never win--That we don't hold all good cards. But life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.

People are waiting for you and me in the past. I have to go. Are you coming or not?"

Evelyn looked at his feet.

"Evelyn."
He pulled the bars and stretched them open. Slaine was shocked as Evelyn walked out of the cell. He was a bit taller than him.

"What the--Why didn't you run if you could just walk out of that cell? You're strong as fuck!"

"I was tired of running. Just wanted to rest for a while." He pressed his head on Slaine's shoulder, "You're real."

"Yes."
Evelyn moved away, "Let's go, dad."
Slaine got on his board, "What about you?"

Evelyn threw a small disc in the air which opened into a skateboard, "I'm ready. Wanna race to the time machine?"

Slaine smirked, "Yeah, beat me of you can!" They went towards the time machine which was on the same floor, Slaine couldn't believe how fast Evelyn was. And he won!

"You lose again!" Evelyn smirked.
"Shut up and start this!" Slaine blushed with embarrassment.

Evelyn laughed and looked into the computer. The machine lit up blue. He set the time and walked towards a blue platform.

"Get on, dad!" And Slaine stood beside him. They began glowing golden and all the windows of the time machine lit up white.

"Hold your breath."
"Why?"
"Cause you're about to lose it."

Suddenly, the floor beneath them disappeared and they fell. It was a long tunnel, with all of Slaine's memories on the walls.

"Where are we?!"
"The time tunnel."
"Why only my memories? Where are yours?!"

"We only only see our own memories. Soon, we'll reach the time portal, jump right after you cross." Evelyn guided.

They reacted a mirror and passed through it. Slaine jumped as a bright yellow light covered him and he landed on the ground with a loud noise as if lightening. Evelyn was beside him.

He got up and looked around. They were on the outskirts of the city.

"Wow, that was something." Slaine said. They were back to the past again. Evelyn got up and pressed his head, "X-DROIDs--A lot of them."

"Where?"
"Right... there." He pointed towards the Manhatten bridge.
Slaine picked up his board, "Wanna have another race till the bridge."

Evelyn smirked, "You like embarrassing yourself, don't you?"
"J--...Just--Shut up!"

Riley finally fell on the ground. Asselyum ran towards him, "Are you okay?" He threw up. He was drenched with sweat and wheezing.

"I can't breathe." He clenched his shirt and punched his chest.
Asselyum looked at face, his green eyes were shining.

Her pupils widened, "An X-DROID."
"Oh shit." Jimmy said.
Riley looked at her, "Where?"
"You are an X-DROID..." She got up and moved away from him.

"Asselyum, no."
