Chapter 7

"And I thought throwing people down a bottomless pit was fun."

Rubble and ash filled the streets. Broken glass fell into the sewers. Some people were screaming since a few houses were affected in the mist of it all. News reports covered televisions around neighborhoods. From behind a shadowy ally, a man viewed the scene. He felt proud of his deed and decided to go out for a little celebration. That is, until he sensed that he was not alone.
Walking a bit slower, his head peered around the corner. He found nothing. One of his eyes traveled to the left as the eyebrow flew up. Not taking any chances, he pulled out his blaster and shot at whatever was near him. The blast however was sent back to him, which he swiftly dodged. Looking up, the guy let out an amused chuckle.

"Of course it's you." Kent said aloud, "Happy freakin new year."

His opponent drew out a sword, "Yeah except this is the time where you die and never be remembered for all of existence. So it's technically your last happy new year."

"If you're lucky." Kent warned. He drew out his sword, "Dead man loses?"

"Oh so you already lost?" His challenger asked in return.

The two men went at it. Jumping and dodging swings that were aimed at him, the non-cheesy antagonist punched the silver in the face. He went sideways and luckily was still on his feet. His blaster hit his target, but did no damage.

"Crap!" Orion shouted.

"Too soft." Kent clapped back.

He switched his sword for an axe.

"Gold silver fusion!" Orion shouted, "Unlock!"

Now becoming infused with silver and gold past rangers, he brought out his twin blades. Kent nodded.

"Huh," he said, "For once you have something that's sharp. Sure it hasn't passed the G rating?"

He ran and swung his ax around. The male alien of the team used his blades to form an X and block the hit. The two were stuck like that as they fought to overpower one another.

"Jealous that we are part of a generation?" Orion inquired smugly.

"No." Kent answered back, "Because I don't need powers to be dangerous."

Orion removed his blades from the ax and tried to stab his enemy. He was blocked and cut by the axe in the face. Rolling on the ground, it caused his helmet to pop off and slash through deeper. The silver ranger stood up and wiped his cheek.

"Dang!" Orion reacted while wiping the liquid on his black bottoms, "That's not good. Now I know why Troy wears red."

"And why you should start." Kent warned.

Coming from behind, both the girls and Noah aimed their blasters at him.

"Oh my god, you brought your squad?" Kent posed as he took this as a joke, "Screw new years! It must be my birthday."

"Yeah and your present is if you walking out alive." Gia threatened.

Kent raised an eyebrow. "You know, it's a shame that your boyfriend got in the middle of all this. You're definitely a little firecracker aren't you?"

The yellow ranger rolled her eyes.

"Just give up! You're outnumbered, you're not going to win." Emma reasoned with him.

"Oh honey..." Kent explained to her, "You really think that a bunch of people can stop just one me? I mean if there's ten of me, I could kick all of your butts in less than an hour. It's as simple as that."

"Then why did that redheaded chick come in and whip you off your feet?" Another voice called out.

Jumping down to join the others, the green ranger made his appearance.

"That chick and I go way back, not that you would know." Kent replied, "And don't assume that she's on your side. She's more of a threat than a hero."

"If she's such a bad person, then why isn't she with you?" Noah asked.

"That was her dumb choice." Kent riposted, "She didn't want to join me. Oh well, it's her loss. It's the winning side, so her refusal to join me will come at a price."

"You know there's a lot of chit-chat and not a lot of fighting." A new voice came into the mix, "What's going on with that? Trying to stall so you don't get your butt kicked again?"

Taking a shot, the leader of the team made his entrance. Kent blocked the blast with his ax. He watched the red ranger pull out his sword.

"Huh." the alien scum replied, "Well if he's your leader that you're definitely going to lose."

"Oh please you idiot. I'm a black belt, top of my class. I can clobber you in a second." Troy told him as the man raised his eyebrow slightly, "But I don't kill. Mainly because you're not supposed to let anger take over you in karate. Something my sensei taught me. I don't remember his name now. Doesn't matter anyway, we'll take you out, dish you to the bears, and make sure you never come back. That's a promise."

Kent scoffed, "Wow, so all of you are very sure of your victory. Well let this be a lesson to you, cockiness is dangerous. I should know, I've been through it before. But this isn't cockiness, I'm speaking all truth. You don't know what you just put yourselves in."

His arm began to glow, making electricity shoot from his arm. It powered up his axe, which resembled a lot like a lightning. The group of heroes and heroines prepared for what was to come. Swinging his axe around, the enemy managed to hit all of the Rangers at once. The team went down, hitting the concrete one by one in pain. Kent had a smile of success, knowing that the Rangers were unaware of what his true power was.

"Don't say I didn't warn you." he informed them, "You're now caught up in a possible war. So congratulations! You just put your lives out on the line."

Rising back onto their feet, the team was nowhere near in giving up.

"You really think we're going to just let you come here and run the show?" Orion asked him, "This is our planet buddy so either be part of it or step off."

"I'm sorry your planet?" Kent returned in question, "You're an alien, Orion, this isn't your home. In fact, I remember my father helped destroy your home. How's that working out for you?"

Orion growled in anger.

"Who's your father?" Noah inquired.

Kent glared at him.

"Unfortunately you know him all too well." he sneered a little, "You were the last thing he saw before he died...and then you all ripped my family away from me."

The Rangers glanced at one another.

"So freaks..." Kent alerted them, "It's time for a little payback. And my pay back, trust me, it's something you'll remember forever."

Lifting his trusty axe, the alien went to strike. The Rangers did the same, which ended up in creating a very chaotic battle. Whatever fueled Kent's strength, it was doing him justice. One by one, each ranger went down, but every time one was gone, another took their place. Though you may say it feels like a typical Ranger battle, it wasn't. It really wasn't. And both sides were aware of that. The noise and the constant banging eventually got people's attention. They decided it was best to run for their lives. Moving out of range, the red ranger decided to take charge and direct his team on what to do next.

"Legendary Ranger mode, Mystic Force!" Troy yelled.

His friends followed suit, which power them up and gave him more strength to fight the enemy. Although, it wasn't enough strength and they still went down regardless. The girls took a chance at trying a new mode this time.

"Legendary Ranger mode, Jungle Fury!"

Going wild with this mode, the girls decided to try and possibly cut their rival. Emma nailed his arm while her best friend managed to cut leg. The pain was there, but only minor and made Kent smile. He held off two of the boys while turning his head slowly to face the girls.

"That's cute." Kent said as he went to taunt his opponents, "That's really cute. Guys take note, that's what pointy things look like."

"Yeah, and this is what a punch looks like." Jake retaliated as he clocked him in the jaw.

Kent stumbled back a bit. He rubbed where the green ranger struck. He chuckled in amusement.

"Struck a nerve did I?" The man assumed, "Well if that's what it takes for you guys to actually be worthy as warriors."

He traded his axe for two hands. Finding that it was better to show off his own brute strength rather than use weapons to attack teenagers, he allowed his body to charge up and be ready to fire. The team of Rangers however stood by and quickly change into a new mode to prepare for the attack.

"Legendary Ranger mode, Mighty Morphin!" They all collectively shouted.

"Unless you have an army of your own, it's going to take a lot more than kiddy spandex to beat me!" Kent roared.

With weapons in hand, the rangers went to go and attack. However, they were unable to by the time they reached their target. As if they were being punished for doing such a horrible deed, the villain whipped and slashed those heroes to pieces. It knocked them out of every mode they've used as they flew out of the alley and onto a nearby street. Returning to their human form, the teenagers were badly injured and we're laying and groaning on the concrete ground. Standing alone in victory, the enemy peered at each and every one of them.

"Pathetic...this is just pathetic..." Kent insulted, "You expect to beat me with big phone face morphers and stupid mystical blasts? You've got to be kidding me."

He turned away from the group, seeing as this fight was over, "I'm even more ashamed of you Troy. We both share that leader title, and right now, I'm more deserving of it than you."

The teens helped each other up, ready to give it another go. Determination is what drove them to keep going. They weren't going to just stand there and allow the enemy to walk away harm free. They morphed once again, but this time it was just mega mode.

"You all are too young to be facing such a skilled opponent." Kent told them, "I don't know what your master was thinking and choosing all of you. Heh, you're not even worthy enough to be standing in front of me."

"Oh well if that's the case, then prepare to meet your match." Slowly turning around, the tough adversary was smacked to the ground. The Rangers watch as they were reunited with the red-haired warrior. With her sword in hand, she stood tall over her opponent. She didn't wear a mask, nor a cape, nor tights, not even in spandex. But she still was ready to beat the crap out of this creep.

"Sorry I'm late to the party." The girl spoke, "But fashionably late is how I do."

"Yeah how is this fashionably late?" Jake whispered.

"She's here, that's all that matters, just go with it." Gia whispered back.

The six of them joined the female warrior.

"I told you he was an assassin." She said, "You didn't take me seriously did you?

"No we did." Troy answered back, "I just didn't know we were dealing with the Man of Steel."

"At least I don't wear underpants over my actual pants." The man spoke up as he regained his composure.

He stared down all of the protagonists.

"Finally a real challenge." Kent stated.

Drawing his sword back out, he raced to have another go at the teens. Along with their ally, the group of heroes were ready to take another shot at their horrible enemy. Swords clashed, kicks were being made to the torso and stomach, hard knuckle made it difficult to escape without at least a bruise, yet nobody had a desire to go home. It was hard to tell who was winning it was so brutal. Fighting in the Octagon to wrestling at a match, you name it. It dragged down into the public eye, to which people brought their phones and got a scoop on everything that was going on. People were already out regardless since the huge bomb attack got everybody's attention.

"Yo the Rangers are back! Everybody get out here! Get out here! Get out here!" Somebody shouted repeatedly and quickly.

It became a complete mess, and it was even worse for the redheaded heroine as she looked around and saw camera shots being taken. She immediately went invisible so no one could see her.

"Ladies and gentlemen, what you're witnessing here is that the six Power Rangers have came out of hiding to save us all from...whoever that guy is." A reporter informed.

Taking a glance at the annoying human, the alien went to strike him down. The blue Ranger tackled him before he could get the chance to. Keeping at a safe and fair distance, everybody was taking a look at what was going on. TVs had this plastered big and bright as it covered every news station. And people weren't the only ones that caught a whiff of what was going on. Back at the command center, two very important beings saw what was going down.

"Oh darn they're all over the web!" Tensou said in shock, "What should we do?"

Gosei sighed.

"Get the Rangers bright and early tomorrow." He told him, "We need to have a talk."

Getting back to the fight, Kent aimed at his long time foe and tried to shoot her. Seeing as she was about to get hurt, the red ranger rushed to jump in front of her and take the hit. But before he could, the redhead had a trick up her sleeve. Gearing up for his final attack, the alien scum was prepared to take down the Rangers on live TV. His hands and body thrusted forward, creating a shock wave. It blew the entire team back. Just before they hit the ground however, all seven of them, yes which included the redhead, managed to combine their power to make a huge blast and strike Kent with it. He finally went down with a thud. The crowd went crazy.

"Did you see that?!" The reporter shouted.

The rangers helped each other up. Orion heard his morpher beat continuously.

"Guys we're about to demorph." He warned.

They all turned to see that Kent was getting his strength back. Sighing, the red ranger nodded and led the team away from everything and everyone. The invisible teenage girl took one last look at her malicious adversary and ran off. Kent gradually smirked and teleported away. The entire crowd chatted amongst themselves, processing into their minds on what just happened.
