Chapter 3
Arriving at City Hall, the Rangers failed to find their teammate. The coordinates were exact, so it was strange to not see him here. The five of them were morphed and ready to go.
"I don't get it." Jake said, "Where is he?"
"I don't know." Troy replied, "Split up and search."
The group of heroes went in various directions. Going alongside her friend, the yellow ranger followed blue to the back. There, the two saw some robots already taken down. Another one freshly joined them, flying through the air, causing both Rangers to have to duck. Sparks came from the soldier as it died. The blue Ranger dusted himself off and helped up his companion.
"Woah!" Gia reacted, "What in the world-"
She did not finish her question before hearing footsteps approaching. The two turned around to see that their friend was joining them.
"Guys!" The sixth ranger started, "Sorry I'm late. I handled a few of those weirdos for ya."
"Wait..." Noah began to ask, "You weren't already fighting these guys before we got here?"
"Nope, I got here two minutes ago. It's why I was able to catch some of them sneaking into the hall and why I smell like cucumber-melon. It pays to know good products." Orion explained as his two friends glanced at one another after the last sentence, "Why did you think I was already here?"
"We got an alert and Gosei said you were-"
"Guys!"
The trio saw the pink ranger appear, "Em, what's up?"
"I tried contacting the others, but they won't answer." Emma informed the team while noticing the silver ranger, "Hey Orion."
The newest member waved a little and smiled.
"Well where are they?" Noah queried.
"I don't know! I tried to locate them on my morpher, but the signal must've cut off or something." Emma responded.
"Uh ok, um let's all try it and we'll see if it'll pick up from a different location." Noah instructed.
The four of them left the area. Whatever was happening, they prayed that the others were safe.

Landing on her feet in a crouch, the fearless teenager let out a grunt. Her target approached her slowly, preparing to strike. Making it impossible for him to try, the young female low kicked his ankles. He fell on his back. That gave her time to back away and pull out her sword. Its glow reflected its power. The alien threat stood up and wiped the dirt off of himself.
"You've got some good moves." He admitted.
"I don't need a devilish imbecile to validate my skills," The protagonist snapped back, "Your existence is unfortunate and sickening to the eye."
Drawing out his choice of weapon, the guy was face to face with the warrior. He let out a faint chuckle.
"I've missed battling you." The alien spoke.
"Our battle never ended." The redhead retorted.
After giving each other one last menacing glare, the two clashed. The male extraterrestrial attempted to stab his enemy. Luckily for her, she blocked the hit and stuck him in the chest. He growled in anger as his sword met hers. An idea formed inside the blue eyed individual's brain. She blocked another oncoming shot. Her opponent kneed her in the stomach and flipped her over. She groaned in pain.
"As amusing as you are, you've been a thorn in my side for too long." Her rival said.
Gripping her sword, the female warrior pushed herself up using her back and was back on her feet. She watched the threat charge at her. Taking advantage of her quick thinking, the redhead threw her weapon up in the air. She back flipped, which kicked her target in the neck and chest. As she was making her way back to the ground, her hand caught the weapon. Both of her hands grasped the handle. Her feet returned to the floor, along with the sword being stabbed into the ground. The energy from the powerful tool traveled rapidly into the ground, aimed for the male alien, and created an underground explosion. It sent her opponent upwards. Watching him hit the concrete floor once again was satisfying. The strong young female pulled her weapon out of the ground.
"You were saying." Savannah mocked in a serious tone.
Though her attack was impressive, her target was aware that she wasn't giving it her all. That wasn't to stay she failed to push back hard. The villain slowly stood up and prepared to tussle once more.
"Heh." He chuckled a little, "I'd at least have more than a small burn on my waist," His smile grew twisted and creepy as he realized something, "Why are you holding back?"
"Too much power from the both of us would cause a lot of damage to the planet." The redhead retorted, "And unlike you, I have a heart and a selfless job, so causing people to die from our fight isn't on my bucket list."
"Depends on who dies exactly, and even though you're not a weak little girl, you're not up to par." her rival judged, "Do you really think you stand a chance?"
"Touch her one more time and you won't breathe." A voice shouted from a distance.
Two blasts came from opposite directions. The green eyed terrorist used his abilities to avoid damage. The redheaded young fighter turned her head and saw a familiar face. Well, more like a familiar suit. Being informed about their history, she was aware of the genders and what colors they wear. And sometimes it changes, but honestly, has a male ever been a pink ranger?
"Called for back up?" The villain assumed.
Before she could reply, another figure stepped into the picture. He fired another shot at the criminal, who easily dodged it. Looking around, the miscreant found this becoming a three on one.
"Hmm, well isn't this a surprise." He spoke, "I wanted to take out this chick, but then you two show up and try to be like guardian angels."
"Kent, don't you know it's wrong to mess with a girl?" Troy asked.
"Especially since you just got your butt kicked by one." The green ranger noted, "And I don't know where you're from, but here, it's considered hilarious."
"I was aware of you two spying on us and yeah, she got the upper hand for a second." The villain didn't hesitate to agree and turned to his opponent, "A mere second. You don't impress me by any means, but I respect you. It seems as though my skills need a little bit of an upgrade."
His hands moved in a circular motion. A portal began to open up. He glanced at it and turned to face the protagonists once more in warning, "Make no mistake, I'm aware of your past battles and foes. Just because one of you were actually capable of beating me doesn't mean I'm someone to be underestimated."
His voice, though you could not physically tell, sent a wave of chills to the heroes. Unlike former aliens, he seemed...different. It was difficult to describe. Leaving it at that, human-looking soldier walked through the portal. It closed behind him. The long, curly haired warrior flipped her locks to the left and made her way to her companions.
"I didn't need help," She talked, "But thanks I guess."
"Looks like you two have a history." the red ranger pointed out, "Do you know why he's on Earth?"
"He's an insane piece of crap whose greedy for power." The young female simply put it, "It took me years before I could take him on one on one like this."
She placed her weapon in a bag that her back could carry, "It seems like he knew you both, what's that about?"
"We fought him before." Jake told her, "He tried to hurt my girlfriend and wipe us all out."
"That's nothing new." Savannah replied, "It's all a big warm up for him."
"Then tell us." Troy began to question, "What is he exactly? What are we dealing with?"
"It wouldn't make much of a difference if I told you everything I've been through with him. Besides, I. . .I can't open all that up, it's not easy anyway." Savannah explained while placing his sword on her back
Both male rangers glanced at one another. Their extra help waited for one of them to respond.
"That bad?" Jake inquired.
Savannah's facial expression gave him his answer.
"I'm sorry." Troy sympathised, "Whatever happened to you doesn't sound-"
"Appreciate the caring, but that's not gonna stop him." The redhead cut him off immediately and proceeded to turn around to leave, "Oh and, the only thing that'll help you is to know that he's full of surprises."
Her feet started moving. The leader of the group however did not give her a chance to leave when he called out, "But if you could never beat him alone, why don't you ask for help?"
Sighing, Savannah stopped and decided to answer back, "Help is useful, but it only goes so far. It's better if I do this myself."
Her back was to him as the red ranger walked closer, "Why?"
"I've been there for people nonstop and all I get is CRAP. No one believes I'm capable of taking down this bad of a guy alone. Everyday, I wanna kick somebody's head off." Savannah riposted.
"But you technically just saved people. Someone could've gotten hurt because of him, but you stopped him before he could." Jake mentioned.
"He already did before I found him." Savannah corrected him.
"But still, you didn't have to follow him here," Troy brought up, "If you really couldn't care less about people then why are you helping us?"
Turning to face the two Rangers, the female crossed her arms, "There's a difference between wanting to and knowing that this is your duty. It's a job red, not a passion. Keeping people alive and safe is my job. If I fail, lives are lost and it falls back on me. You and your team know that better than anyone."
The green hero walked up and stood beside his leader.
"Ok, it is a job. But if it's such a JOB, you could just quit at any time, right?" Troy quizzed.
"Yes, and your point?" Savannah asked in return.
"So why don't you just quit?" Troy wondered.
"Your little trick won't work. Believe it or not, my heart isn't completely stone cold, but yes, I think innocent people shouldn't die because some lunatic wants chaos." Savannah responded.
A light bulb went off in the jokester's head, "Then why don't you join us? A little more power wouldn't hurt and you clearly have more experience with this dude than we do."
His friend was not fully convinced on that idea, yet did not seem to hate it. The response was a light chuckle.
"As I would love to just watch you run in your spandex and possibly hear one of you whine because it got stuck in between your butt cheeks." Savannah retorted in some amusement that quickly faded in her next sentence, "This is something I have to do. It's fine if you wanna help, but you don't understand him. It's not as easy as getting new zords and then claiming the victory or some huge battle to end it off. It's bigger than all of that."
The black/green ranger raised his eyebrows, "Wow, it sounds like we're dealing with Thanos."
It was meant to be a joke, but was not taken as one by the female warrior. Tilting his head a bit, the new kid had a theory form in his brain. It was not proven facts, although some hints did present themselves. The question he had came out of his mouth.
"You're not from here are you?" Troy catechized.
The reply was voiceless, but a small smirk appeared on the heroine's face. She moved towards the dragon leader, who did not back away. His face grew hot as the young lady swiped an item of his, her eyes laying on it in observation. A scoff was released from her mouth, "Huh, a phone with a face-"
The red ranger, realizing her motives, grabbed her wrist and snatched it back. His smirk outmatched hers, though you could not tell with the helmet. He dropped it as he knew the matter was more important. Sighing, the used-to-be new kid started talking again, "Look, we might not be soldiers, but we can fight. And if this guy is as bad as you say he is, we're gonna need to stick together. We aren't like those jerks you told us about. It's clear that you are totally capable at handling the bad guys. And spandex or not, we can fight too. I think you should think about this."
Silence rose between the trio of heroes. The blood haired girl crossed her arms again as she glanced at the two boys. Her thoughts were interrupted when a sudden noise poured into their ears. The guys nodded towards each other. The red ranger gave the female comrade one last look before heading off. She watched the two leave. Letting out another sigh, she traveled in the other direction.
