Natsu's POV:

I woke up the next morning and I was immediately greeted with a face full of ice. "Gray! What the fuck was that for?!" "Well you wouldn't wake up and the fights are starting in like 5 minutes!" It took me a minute to realize what he said and when I finally processed it I got up, got dressed, and ran out the tent with Gray.

 We walked over to the edge of the 'arena' so Gramps could tell what would be happening today. "Now that Gray and Natsu are here, we can begin. Like I said at the guild hall, there will be an 'A' block and a 'B' block. Block A will fight before lunch and block B will fight after. You will fight with in your respective block until you get to the finals. Then you will have to make your choice and continue the fights from there." We nodded, showing we understood. "The mages in block A will be; Levy, Natsu, Gajeel, and Juvia. This means that the mages in block B are; Gray, Cana, Freed, and Elfman. Erza will be picking the match ups for block A. Mira will pick the match ups from block B. Guildarts, and Laxus will referee the matches." Once again, we nodded in understanding. Erza said, "The first match from block A will be Natsu vs Juvia. This will be followed by Levy vs Gajeel." I grinned before shouting, "Alright! I'M ALL FIRED UP!" Juvia looked over at me, "As if fire could beat water. I'll put out your flames faster than you could say your little phrase." 'I know I just met Juvia and all, but judging by the expressions on everyone's faces, this isn't normal for her.' 

We walked down into the 'arena' and stood on opposite sides. Laxus was down here with us, ready to start the match and end it when he needed to. The others were watching from above. Laxus stood between us. "Alright. The rules are simple. No outside help is allowed. You can fight as hard as you want, just don't fatally injure your opponent or anyone outside this hole. Then first person to be knocked out loses, thus meaning the other wins." After saying this, Laxus stepped back and got ready to start the match. 

Juvia got into her stance. "I hope you don't hold back 'cause I'm a girl." I simply stayed in my current position, arms crossed and my center of gravity on one leg. I shrugged my shoulders and said, "I don't care if you're a girl. You're my opponent, so I'll beat you." "Then I suggest you get ready to fight. The way you're standing now make you an easy target to wash away." Once again I shrugged my shoulders. "How 'bout we start the match. Then we'll see if water beats fire."

Gray's POV:

'So. Magic or no?' 'What do you think Ice Princess?' 'So that's a no?' 'I'm only gonna use it if I have to.' I smiled, but I kinda felt bad for Juvia. 'She isn't even gonna get a serious fight outta him.' Laxus broke me out of my thought when he started the match. "Ready. Set. Fight!" 

Laxus moved out of the way, just as Juvia yelled, "WATER SLICER!" Natsu moved out of the way, then slowly ran towards Juvia. When he was close enough, he threw a punch at her. What happened next shocked me, his hand went right through her body. It must have shocked Natsu as well, but he didn't show it. Juvia said, "Physical attacks won't work against my Water Body." Natsu said, "Then I guess I'll have to use my magic. But I suggest you don't use your Water Body ability again. Unless you want to evaporate, then be my guest." She looked at him confused. Natsu jumped back about 10 feet. Juvia then said, "Water Bubbles!" Water began to surround Natsu, but he let off a little bit of heat, evaporating the water almost instantly. He ran towards Juvia, faster than before, fist covered in flames. Juvia didn't exactly have time to react. Natsu's fist made contact with her stomach and she was sent flying into a near by wall. There was a bit of dust caused from the impact. When it cleared, Juvia was slumped against the wall unconscious. Laxus stepped forward and said, "Juvia is unable to continue, Natsu wins." 

Natsu walked over to Juvia's unconscious body, picked her up, and jumped back up to the rest of us with her in his arms. He set her down at the medical tent so Mira, the medic for the time being, could take care of her. He walked over towards me and sat down. He had his knees bent and spread apart a little with his elbows resting on them. 'The punch that knocked her out had nothing to do with magic, so why did you use it.' 'Thanks for noticing Captain Obvious, and I only did it so the punch wouldn't go through her.' 'Fair enough. And I think the next fight is about to start.' 

Guildarts was down in the 'arena' this time. Levy and Gajeel could be seen on opposite sides of the field. Gajeel was standing in a very relaxed manner. Levy could be seen looking down and fidgeting a little. She looked like she was debating whether or not to fight. Guildarts explained the rules just as Laxus did. Then, he said, "Ready. Set. F-" He stopped when Levy raised her hand. "I'm normally not one to back down, but this is one fight I can't win. Besides... I-I don't really want to fight Gajeel." She said the last part quieter than before, but we could still hear it. Guildarts then said, "Ok then. Levy forfeits, so Gajeel wins" 

The three people in the hole arena thing came back up and Gramps said, "Mira will be announcing the B block matches after lunch. You have until then to do whatever you brats want to."

Me and Natsu decided to visit the first master's grave. We had been here while training once and found it. We freaked out the first time we saw Mavis. When we got to her grave, we saw her laying on her back, looking and the butterfly over her head. In unison, me and Natsu said, "Hey Mavis!" "Hello! What are you doing back on Tenrou?" Natsu said, "We're having the S-Class trials. We're doing a tournament to see who becomes S-Class." She nodded. We sat and talked until we had to head back for the B block fights.

The fights were about to start again, so me and Natsu stood up. Mavis said, "Could I come with you guys and watch the rest of the fights? I want to see what Makarov's group is capable of." I replied saying, "Sure. You can stay at the camp after the fights." With that, Natsu and I took off running and Mavis was right behind us. We arrived at the camp before Mira announce the match ups. Gramps looked at us and said, "Where were you two?! We almost started without you brats." Mavis came out from behind us and said, "They were talking with me Third Master." Gramps and the rest of the people there looked shocked. Gramps said, "First Master! What are you doing here?" "I came to cheer on the finalists." He nodded and gave Mira the stage. "Ok. The first match in B block will be Elfman vs Gray. The match following will be Freed vs Cana"

I walked out into the hole/arena. Elfman stood across from me, ready to start. Laxus was referee again and he said the same thing as before. I was standing how Natsu was earlier, arms crossed and center of gravity on one foot. "Come on Gray. Get ready to fight me like a real MAN!" I sighed, "Whatever you say Elfman." I stayed in the same position I was in. I think it might have made Elfman a little mad that it didn't seem like I was going to fight seriously. Then again I wasn't. Laxus said, "Ready. Set. Fight!" 

Natsu's POV:

Elfman yelled, "BEAST ARM: REPTILE!" and ran at Gray. Gray jumped out of the way and kicked Elfman in the stomach and he doubled over. Gray ran at Elfman, moving to where he was behind him, and kicked in in between the shoulder blades. Elfman fell over, hitting the ground head first. Gray moved back to where he started the match. Elfman got up and said, "Beast Arm: Iron Bull!" He ran at Gray and attempted to punch him, but Gray beat him to it. Gray punched Elfman in the stomach and he was sent flying towards the same wall that Juvia hit. Elfman was out as soon as he hit the wall. Laxus said, "Elfman is unable to continue. Gray is the winner." 

As Gray jumped out of the 'arena', he made an ice platform carry Elfman to the medical tent. He came over and sat down next to me. "Good job Gray." "Thanks. It was pretty easy though." Then I asked, "So who do you think will win the next match?" He said, "It's honestly a toss up. Freed is strong and clever, but Cana has a few tricks up her sleeve. It just depends on wheter or not she plays her cards right." I laughed. Gray realized what he said and laughed along.

We stopped talking when we saw Cana, Freed, and Guildarts, walk into the hole. Guildarts said the same thing that has been said before each fight so far. Then he said, "Ready. Set. Fight!" Cana brought out 3 of her cards and yelled. "Summoned Lightning!" Freed drew his sword and said,  "Dark Ecriture: Reflect!" Freed's spell caused Cana's to be thrown back at her. She wasn't able to move in time, so she got hit with her own lighting attack. Before Cana could do anything to retaliate, Freed said, "Dark Ecriture: Pain!" Runes appeared on Cana's forehead, and she began writhing on the ground in pain. She couldn't do any thing due to the pain, so she stayed on the ground yelling. Freed cast the spell once more, causing the amount of pain to double. After a few seconds Cana was out cold. Guidarts stepped forward and said, "Cana is unable to continue, so Freed is the winner."

Before joining the rest of us, Freed picked up Cana and brought her to the medical tent. Gramps walked in front of us and said, "Listen up. First, I want to say those were some great fights today. Second, I want to congratulate everyone who won their matches. I want everyone competing tomorrow to take it easy today. Rest up and get ready for your fights tomorrow." 

Me and Gray started walking towards our tent, but stopped when a dumb metal head came up to us. "Gihi. Looks like I get to fight you tomorrow aye Salamander?" I sighed. "I guess. But it won't really be a fight. It will just be you getting beat into the ground." His expression changed to that of someone who was pissed. "True, but I won't be the one being beaten to the ground." After he said this, Gajeel walked away. 

When we got to our tent, Gray and I decided to play a few games for the rest of the day. He made a deck of cards with his Maker Magic. We ended up playing multiple card games: Go Fish, War, Solitaire, ect. We played till we had to go out for dinner. When we went outside our tent, we saw that Juvia, Elfman, and Cana had regained consciousness. We joined the others at the picnic tables in the middle of all the tents and began eating. 

When we finished, me, Gray, Elfman, Freed, Laxus, and Guildarts walked to the lake near our temporary camp so we could relax and talk.  When we got there, we took off our clothes and got in. I used my magic to make the water warmer, so it felt like a hot spring instead of a cold lake. Let's just say Gray was mad I wouldn't let him enjoy the cold water. We talked for a few hours before we went back to the camp and retired for the night.

When Gray and I got back to the tent, Gray pulled out his communication lacrima so we could call the Magic Council. We decided it was a good idea to call and make sure there was nothing important we needed to do immediately. After the call, we went to sleep.

I apologize for the shitty fight scenes. I will try to do better in the upcoming fights.
