Chapter 12: Day 2
Natsu's POV:
Everyone was back in the arena, spectators in the stands, guilds in their balconies, and the teams in ours. We were all waiting for Chapati to get things started.
"Welcome back everyone to day two of this year's Grand Magic Games!" he yelled over the mic, "Joining us today as our special guest is Sorcerer Weekly's Jason!" "Cool!" The crowd was going crazy, from the games finally starting and from Jason... I think.
"Let's get things started with today's game!" Chapati said as the giant stone board from yesterday rose up from the ground. Next to day two, it said "Chariot". "Today's game is called Chariot! Now, just like yesterday, each team must choose someone to compete before we announce the rules."
The teams began to talk, mine included. "I wanna go in," I said before the others could speak. Lucy and Elfman began to question me. "Wouldn't it be better if someone else went? I mean, it's called Chariot and you have motion sickness," Lucy stated. 'Oh right, they don't know I got over my motion sicknes...'
I replied saying, "I'll be fine." I could tell the Lucy was still unsure, but Elfman was convinced I'd be ok. Lucy was about to say something but Erza cut her off, "What if I go instead?" Lucy and Elfman were good with her going in, and Gray looked like he didn't really care who played. "Sure, have at it. But I wanna go in tomorrow," I replied. She nodded and joined the other competitors on the coliseum floor. I should probably thank her later...
Chapati began announcing the people playing Chariot as soon as all eight of them were down there. "From Mermaid Heel, we have Risley Law. From Blue Pegasus, Ichiya Kotobuki. Next, we have Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail Team A. From Fairy Tail Teams B, we have Gajeel Redfox. From Lamia Scale, Yuka Suzuki. From Raven Tail, Kurohebi. From Quarto Cerberus, Bacchus Groh. And from Sabertooth, we have Sting Eucliffe!" After each name was called, loud cheers filled the stadium. Obviously some competitors had louder cheers than the others, but who cares? And I swear I heard Jason shout "Cool!" at least three times.
Chapati explained the rules once he could be heard over the crowd again. "Now that we have our competitors, lets move on to the game. The participants will be on a chariot that starts at the edge of the capital and ends back here in the Domus Flau. This is a race to see who can get back here first and cross the finish line without falling off. Sounds easy right? Wrong! The platforms are in constant motion. While the chariot at the front is pulling them all at a snail's pace, one wrong move could send you falling off. Oh, and did I mention you can use magic? Well you can so feel free to go all out! And don't worry folks, you'll be able to watch the entire race from teh lacrimatrons here in the coliseum!" Erza and the others were then teleported to the first platform.
Once everyone was in position, the chariot started moving and Chapati counted them down to start the game. I could see Sting already looking like we was going to throw up, no surprise there. What surprised me was Gajeel. I guess the three months of training was enough to put him on a level where he has motion sickness. Not my problem.
As soon as Chapati said go, Erza requipped into her Flight Armor and took off running. The armor increased her speed, which was perfect for this. She was in the lead with the others running after her. Well, everyone except Sting and Gajeel, but I don't know if anyone has noticed yet.
About half way through, Erza was still in first with her Flight Armor still on. Kurohebi, Yuka, Risely, Ichiya, and Bacchus all a number of platforms behind. 'Yeah, Erza isn't letting them have this.' I thought to myself. It's basically become a contest for second. Yuka used his magic on Ichiya and Risley to hold them back, but Risley used her gravity magic to run on the side of the chariot and Ichiya stuck two vials in his nose and inhaled a swiftness perfume and got out. Upon seeing the others giving it their all, Bacchus decided to get serious. He brought his foot down with a lot of power and destroyed the platforms that the three were on. They didnt fall off, but they weren't on their feet. He ran past them and Kurohebi, who was a little ahead of the others.
He started catching up to Erza, but upon hearing him coming, Erza upped her speed to the max. She got to the end of the chariot. She then jumped off and ran to the finish line with Bacchus behind her.
"Erza has crossed the finish line, putting her in firstplace and giving Fairy Tail Team A 10 points!" Everyone cheer as she entered the arena, our guild being the loudest of course. Bacchus came in second while Kurohebi came in third. Risley, Yuka, and Ichiya came in fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
Chapati and Mr. Yajima finally commented on Sting and Gajeel's lack of movement. The lacrimatrons focused on them and both looked like they were about to blow chunks. Luckily we could hear them over the lacrimatrons too.
"Why am I feeling sick? This was Natsu's stupid weakness!" said Gajeel, "I used to be able to ride on vehicles just fine!" I chuckled at his misfortune. 'I am so glad I got over that' I thought.
"Hey. That just means you've finally become one," said Sting as he looked over at the confused dragon slayer, "You're the real deal now." I was struggling to hold back my laughter. "I guess congratulations are in order. Welcome Newbie," said Sting while trying not to throw up. I could tell Gajeel was mad.
That was it, I lost it. I was laughing. That earned me a weird look from Lucy ad Elfman. "Sorry," I said through my laughter, "I know I'm supposed to hate him right now, but man that was great. I could't have said it better myself."
We looked back to the screens and saw Gajeel try and shove Sting off the chariot, key word try. "Where did my strength go?" Gajeel yelled. The crowd was laughing now. I'm surprised they didn't start sooner.
The guild was telling Gajeel to stop screwing around. I could hear Rogue say that he thought motion sickness only affected him and Sting, not all dragon slayers. 'Sorry, but you guys aren't that special.'
Gajeel kept fighting though. He moved forward a few steps before dropping to all fours. Sting commented on his lack of strength, but Gajeel didn't stop. Then, Sting said he'd let Gajeel have to point. "It won't matter in the end." Gajeel smirked and looked back at him, "One point is nothing to scoff at." He then summoned the rest of his strength and jumped off just as the chariot passed the finish line. He crossed the finish line on wobbly legs and came in seventh, scoring Fairy Tail Team B their first point. Sting got off the chariot soon after and entered the coliseum.
Once everyone was back, Chapati announced that there would be a short, 30 minute break before the fights started. During that time, the people who participated in the game made their way back to their team's balcony.
When Erza walked onto our balcony, Lucy ran to her and said, "Congrats Erza! That was amazing!" She smiled and said thanks while Elfman congratulated her as well. She then joined Gay and I by the edge of the balcony. "Good job Erza!" "Yeah, that was awesome!" Gray and I said as we each gave her a high five. "Thank you guys." We all smiled.
Lucy, Elfman, and Gray were talking about the upcoming fights, so I decided to go ahead and thank Erza now. "Thanks for stopping me from going. I would have blown the secret," I whispered. "It was no trouble. Besides, I wanted to compete anyway." We smiled once again before joining the others in their conversation. Before we knew it, it was time for the fights.
Kurohebi from Raven Tail and Toby from Lamia Scale were called down to fight first. Midfight, and after learning Kurohebi wasn't his real name, Toby said that he had to tell him his real name if he won. Upon hearing that, he asked what he got if he won. "I'll tell you my secret!" yelled Toby as he continued to attack. "Our competitors seemed to have struck a friendly wager!" said Chapati. "I wouldn't consider their secrets prized," said Mr. Yajima. Then we can't forget Jason, who was yelling once again.
In the end Kurohebi won so Toby told him his secret. "It's my sock. I can't find it! It just disappeared man!" cried Toby. He went on saying how ashamed he was ad other things. Kurohebu simply pointed at his chest and Toby looked down to find his sock was around his neck the whole time.
Once that was taken care of and both fighters went back to their balconies, the next two fighters were called down. "Next up, we have Bacchus from Quatro Cerberus versus Elfman from Fairy Tail Team A!" Elfman was shocked. I could hear Mira and Lisana ask if he was ready while Macao, Wakaba, and Happy said we're screwed. Erza looked up at him. "Don't worry. Believe you can win and victory will be yours." He nodded before joining Bacchus, who was laying down, in the arena.
"What do you say we make our own wager?" Bacchus asked. "What do you want?" inquired Elfman. He went on to say that Elfma's sisters were hot, in which case Elfman asked what he meant. "I know you aren't thins dense. If I win your sisters keep me company tonight."
Mira and Lisana were shaking, Cana was calling him a scumbag, and Evergreen said, "What nerve!"
"Now it's your turn." Bacchus said as he was casually sitting on the ground, "If you win-." He was cut off by Elfman. His hair was shadowing his eyes and he stepped forward a bit. "Listen man, a real man doesn't tolerate that kind of disrespect," Elfman said as his magic power slowly flared to life, "so get ready to be schooled." "I take it this means you accept. Good."
The fight started and it looked pretty one sided for a while. Elfman struggled to land a hit, even when using a his Beast Soul: Wereleopard, which increased his speed. Erza then explained Bacchus' fighting style, saying he attacks using magic in his hands in conjunction with a type of martial arts known as Chop Hanging Palm. She also states that he hasn't had a drink yet, so he hasn't gone all out yet.
Elfman goes back to his normal form after another hit, but he doesn't give up. He gets on his feet as he says, "I never told you what I wanted if I win." "Go ahead, this will be the only time this comes up." "I want you, and the rest of your guild, to change your name to Quatro Puppy," said Elfman. I have no idea how he said it with a straight face. The guild yelled "What?" while Bacchus looked like he was trying not to laugh.
Bacchus agreed as he picked up his gourd and chugged it down. Chapati and Mr. Yajima commented saying he was getting serious. Jason on the other hand yelled that he wanted to try some before shouting cool even louder.
"Should be easy to take out a wobbly drunk like me right? Come on then big guy," Bacchus said. "Take Over: Beast Soul," Elfman started as he began to change. "It's pointless!" Bacchus yelled as he attacked Elfman again and laughed. "Feel that?" he asked before a cracking sound was heard. He looked down at his arms and saw that the purple armor on his forearm cracked and fell off. "What is the hell? He got me? What are you?" he asked drunkenly. Elfman finally finished saying the full name of his take over, "Lizardman." He had green scales and black spikes all over his body. "I can't hit you, but go on and hit me all you want!" He began to taunt Bacchus after that.
Bacchus launched at hit again, attacking relentlessly. Elfman stood his ground thought. It was like that for a while, but eventually, both tired out. Elfman's transformation wore off and they were both on the ground, Bacchus on his knees and Elfman on all fours. I could see the girls in the guild shaking, mainly his sisters. "I gotta tell you pal, you, "Bacchus began to fall, "are a real man." He hit the ground while Elfman stayed up. Everyone was going wild, especially the guild, but once again, no surprise there. "And that is it folks! Elfman wins and scores another 10 points for Fairy Tail Team A!" The two were taken to the infirmary while the next match up was announced.
"Now on to the third match of the day! We have Mirajane from Fairy Tail Team B versus Jenny from Blue Pegasus!" The crowd went wild as the two went down to the coliseum floor. The match started and the two were surrounded by their magic, bright lights covering them both. When the light disappeared, the two were in bikini's, and pretty much every guy in the coliseum was going insane. "What kind of battle is this?" yelled Gray and I.
They switched into another swimsuit and the males went wild once again. "They aren't expecting me to do this, right?" asked Lucy. "No I think this is just for them. Besides you already fought and I doubt the same person would fight twice," replied Erza.
"You still got it," Jenny said. "Thank you," replied Mira, "It feels nice to be doing this again." "I have to admit, I was surprised you agreed to do a pose off with me," stated Jenny. Mira smiled and said, "Mhm. I don't really like slugging it out with people, so this is better. I much prefer taking a more peaceful approach is it's possible."
"Two bodacious babes who are both masters of transformation magic! This is truly the stuff that dreams are made of," said Chapati. "I feel like a young man again," said Mr. Yajima. "This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!" yelled Jason, They all had sticks with either a 'J' or and 'M' on them, so I'm assuming they're the judges for this. "I can't wait to see what they'll change into next-" Chapati was cut off by I yell from one of the balconies. "Not so fast!"
We all looked over to the Mermaid Heel balcony and saw three of the girls jump down into the arena. "You don't expect us to let these two hog all the attention!" "We have strong and beautiful chicas as well!" "Team Mermaid Heel is the ultimate in girl power!" "This is embarrassing." Risely, Arana, and Beth had all come down into the arena and were now posing in swimsuits.
"Well I did not see this one coming! Mermaid Heel has joined the party!" yelled Chapati. "Hold it guys!" We heard another voice and looked over to the Lamia Scale balcony. We saw two girls jumping down while holding hands. "All these girls are missing an important thing! What good is going around in your swimsuits if you don't have the love to back it up? I you want love, then you have to give love," "And we're bursting at the seams with it!" "And now the cute cousins from Lamia Scale have joined in!" Chapati said in surprise.
I looked over to our balcony and saw Mavis talking with the girls over there. "Why are you ladies just watching from the sidelines? We should all go down there together!" Mavis said in excitement. I don't know how, but she convinced the girls to go down and join in, and for some reason it was raining bikinis. 'I'm not going to question her, she's the one who made this crazy guild in the first place.' I thought to myself. Next thing I know, she's on our balcony telling Erza and Lucy to join in. "For real!" yelled Lucy. "There's no reason why we should just stand here while our competitors are taking the spot light," replied Erza calmly.
I looked over to Team B expecting Mavis to be talking to Juvia, but nope. Juvia was in a swimsuit saying that a woman must do anything to get her true love. 'Nope. Not happening. Gray is mine you weirdo.' I thought to myself.
Soon enough the girls from Fairy Tail, the ones who already jumped down, and the two competitors were all in the arena wearing swimsuits. "The situation has gotten quiet out of hand," Mira said while smiling. "Oh yeah, but it's all in good fun and the fans are totally eating it up," replied Jenny.
"This is the place you want to be today folks!" yelled Chapati. "And we have to keep this going unless we want a riot on our hands," commented Mr. Yajima. "This is the coolest thing I've every seen! The Sorcerer Weekly cover story!" yelled Jason. "But remember folks, this battle is strictly a one-on-one match between Mirajane and Jenny, so they will be the only ones scoring," Chapati announced.
Levy, Cana, Lucy, and Mavis were talking about why they were all down there if they aren't being scored. Evergreen was standing pretty close to Erza and was saying how she was the rightful queen of the fairies and that she shouldn't be upstaged.
They fight then continued as normal. Round after round the girls all changed their clothes to fit the theme for the round. A few rounds after everyone joined was bondage gear. Erza scared Evergreen, so I'm pretty sure she gets who is the queen of the fairies now.
A few rounds later us guys somehow got involved. "How about a bride challenge! Ladies grab a man and squeeze into so wedding dresses!" I don't know how it happened, but one minute Gray and I were in the balcony and the next we were in the arena wearing tuxes. Gray's was black like almost everyone else's, but mine was white for some reason. "Well we know who the bride is!" Gray mumbled as he moved closer to me. "Shut up! It's not my fault I got put in a white suit," I grumbled in reply. I didn't move away from him though.
I saw Gramps standing with Mira, who thanked him for joining her. "It was no problem. I will do whatever it takes to help my guild win," was his reply. Other people were pairing up. Jet and Droy were fighting over Levy, but she was looking at Gajeel. Lyon swept Juvia off her feet and held her bridal style. She tried to find Gray for help but was surprised when she saw him with me. I guess Lisanna and Lucy, who was next to Loke, were too when they saw Gray and I standing together.
'You up for breaking some hearts?' 'Why not. Ready to let people know about us?' I thought in reply. 'Yup.' With that he put is arms around my waist and I leaned back into him. He then moved us in a way that let him easily place a small kiss on my forehead. The three girls were still looking at us, one in shock and two in jealous anger. Gray then just went back to standing at my side, but this time with his arm around my waist. 'You think that did anything?' 'Definitely. I don't know if it was good or bad though.' Gray answered. I don't know if anyone else saw the exchange, but I'm happy that the decision to let our relationship be public has been made. It means I can just surprise hug Gray when ever I want now.
"Now that the wedding is over, let's get back to another swimsuit round," Chapati announced. "Wait! Stop! This is an outrage!" a voice cried out. We all looked to the top of one of the statues in the coliseum. "What is this?" yelled Chapati. There was a small person at the head of the statue. "You foolish show people. Let Ooba teach you a lesson! So pay close attention, and learn what it means to be a real woman!" The guild master from Lamia Scale then jumped down to the ground. When she landed, we all saw she was wearing a swimsuit.
Immediately, the atmosphere in the coliseum changed. People that were once excited to see all the girls posing were now very unhappy and looked as though they'd seen a ghost. I can't blame them. "And with that crash course in reality, the mood in the arena has been brought down to Earthland. Party's over folks, the other teams on the field have begun to clear out," stated Chapati sadly. It was just Mira and Jenny left in the arena.
"Finally the circus is gone. It's just you and me again," said Jenny. "Oh man, that's too bad. It was fun while it lasted!" aid Mira with a small smile on her face. By this point, everyone had made it back to their respective balconies. The scoreboard on the lacrimatrons read 30-30; they were tied. "We need to wrap this game up," announced Chapati, "so let's move on to the final round of this exhilarating match!"
Jenny got this weird look in her eyes before asking Mira if she wanted to make a bet. "I'm game," replied Mira, "so what do you have in mind?" "The loser will pose for Sorcerer Weekly, wearing absolutely nothing but her birthday suit," yelled Jenny as she points at Mira with her other hand on her hip. Mira giggles before cheerily replying, "You're on!" The stadium was gong crazy. "Unbelieveable! This might be a bet where everybody is a winner!" yelled Chapati in shock and excitement.
"Now, our final theme will be, combat gear," Chapati said. Jenny began to transform for the final round. "You really think you can beat me in my combat form?" Jenny asked confidently. Her dress had changed into a dark magenta and navy armor.
"Yeah, I'm not to worried about it," Mira said just as confidently as her magic flowed around her, "and since were making a bet like everyone before us had, let's continue another trend and finish out this round with a battle of strength like they all did too." When the light faded, Mira was shown to be in one of her takeover forms. "Uh," Jenny said with fear and surprise showing on her face.
"What in the heck is that?" Lucy yelled. "It's one of Mira's she devil forms," Erza said calmly, "It is known as Sitri, her ultimate satan soul."
"I agreed to the terms that you set, so I'd appreciate it if you were a good sport and agreed to mine," Mira said in a deeper voice than normal. "Wait are you serious?" Jenny stuttered out. "Yes." That was the only thing Jenny bad as a warning before Mira shot forward and attacked. She hit Jenny and ended up behind her within seconds. Jenny let our a loud cry of pain.
"Just like that this beauty battle becomes a brawl!" yelled Chapati. The crowd went wild as Mr. Yajima commented, "I supposed this is more keeping with tradition." "What a cute brute! So cool!" yelled Jason. Mira then put her fist in the air as a sign of victory. "And Mirajane takes the big 'w'."
The guild was going wild, along with the rest of the spectators. "And that's how we do things in the Fairy Tail guild!" I said with a grin on my face. "But wasn't this supposed to be a beauty contest?" Gray asked. "Most of it was anyway," Erza said, "and no one ever said they couldn't fight. Mira just found a way to bend the rules a bit." "That seems to happen quiet a bit with this guild," said Lucy.
Mira then transformed back while apologizing. "Sorry bout that! But if this will make you feel any better, I'll buy an issue when it comes out." Jenny was on the ground hugging herself while crying. "That win adds another 10 points to Fairy Tail Team B!" Mira waked back to her team and the congratulated her.
The next and final match up was announced to be Kagura from Mermaid Heel versus Yukino from Sabertooth. The two were facing each other in the arena. Yukino suggested a making a bet, which Kagura replied saying she doesn't gamble for entertainment since she always makes sure they are followed through. After saying she does the same, Yukino suggested raising the same and betting their lives. No one said a word. The team and I were shocked, but I looked over to Sabertooth and saw Sting with a small smirk on his face.
"If you truest intend to stand behind your wager, then I suppose I have no alternative but to accept," Kagura said with nothing but seriousness on her face, "Very well." Everyone was shocked with the bet, even the announcers. For once, Jason said something was uncool.
The fight began with Yukino summoning Pisces. Lucy, along with a few others, was shocked that she was a celestial wizard. Two giant, eel like creatures came out the gate. One was navy and the other was white. They attacked and Kagura dodged all their attacks with ease. Yukino then summoned a second spirit, Libra.
Libra was told to alter Kagura's field of gravity, and Pisces was told to attack after that was done. Kagura managed to get away though. She was up in the air above the twin fish, no harm done to her. Her center of gravity was then turned sideways by Libra and she was sent flying into one of the giant statues in the coliseum, leaving a dent in the stone. Pisces was once again sent to attack her, but the spirits never made it.
They began falling to the ground at the same time Libra was pulled closer to the ground. Turns out Kagura uses Gravity magic like Risley. She was free from Libra changing her center of gravity and was back on the ground across from Yukino.
I'm afraid you leave me with no choice," stated Yukino, "I'll have to open the thirteenth zodiac gate."
Lucy asked if she heard the other celestial wizard right since she was only told there were twelve zodiac keys. She also said she though the thirteenth key was a rumor.
Yukino then said the gate was rarely opened and that the spirit brings an omen of bad luck. Kagura countered saying she's never believed in luck, that everything that happened was based off her choices. Then she ran at Yukino. "Open, gate of the snake charmer; Ophiuchus!" Yukino called out. Everything turned an eerie purple and a giant, terrifying snake appeared. "I thought she said snake charmer!" Gray and I said in surprise.
As the giant snake moved towards its opponent, Kagura attacked with her sheathed sword. She moved insanely fast, faster than most people could see. The next thing we see is Ophiuchus was defeated and Kagura was right in front of Yukino. "She didn't unsheathe her sword," Erza said in shock. She wasn't alone either. The rest of our team, Sting, Yukino, the rest of Sabertooth, and most other people were shocked too. Kagura then took out Yukino with a single hit from her sheathed sword. I don't think anyone expected the fight to end like that.
Once Chapati could talk again, he said, "Mermaid Heel's Kagura wins! That's 10 points for team Mermaid Heel!" The crowd went nuts after that while Kagura calmly began walking off the field. Yukino was still on the ground.
"This is insane! Team Sabertooth wasn't able to score a single point on day two!" yelled Chapati. "I bet their master isn't to happy about that," said Mr. Yajima. Meanwhile Jason was freaking out.
"I'm having trouble figuring out what happened there. Was the Sabertooth girl to weak, or was the other too strong?" Gray asked. "The latter I believe," Erza replied.
Before she could leave the arena completely, Kaura reminded Yukino if their bet. "Remember, as per our bet, your life is now in my hands. Understood?" "Yes ma'am, I understand completely." Yukino replied. Kagura then left the field entirely.
"Ladies and gentlemen that wraps up day 2 of the Grand Magic Games," Chapati said. He then went on to list the current scores after today.
Raven Tail: 32 points
Fairy Tail Team A: 30 points
Sabertooth: 18 points
Lamia Scale: 17 points
Mermaid Heel: 16 points
Blue Pegasus: 15 points
Fairy Tail Team B: 11 points
Quatro Puppy: 9 points
After that, everyone left the Domus Flau until tomorrow.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!
I'M ALIVE!!!!
Ok, first over all, I'd like to say sorry for not updating this book since August of 2018.... especially since it is now January of 2019.
Second, thank you all for the support on this book. OVER 2k VIEWS!! And last time I updated this book was closer to 1k. Thank you guy so much for reading this book and I'm happy you all have been enjoying it.
Third, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!
The next few things has to do with the story.
1: Do y'all want me to rewrite this chapter with Natsu in the Chariot game and Erza competing in Pandemonium or are y'all ok with how I have it going right now?
2: Do y'all want me to write Yukino talking with Natsu and Lucy and then having Natsu storm into wherever Sabertooth is staying in the next chapter or not? (Will be followed by Day 3 if so. If not I'll go straight into Day 3)
3: For the 2v2 battles on Day 4, should it be Gajeel and Natsu vs Sting and Rouge or Gray and Natsu vs Sting and Rogue?
4: And finally, how do y'all want Natsu and Gray's secret of being wizard saints to get out. They say it during/at the end of the GMG, they say it at another time, Jura say something about it, someone else expose them, or whatever else you guys have in mind.
Any who, if you actually read the A/N, thank you, and if you left your opinion, thank you.
(I would also like to randomly point out, this is the longest chapter I have ever written. Before the A/N it was 4,870 words.)
This chapter and all the chapters pertaining to the GMG arc are all based on the episodes that go with this arc in the anime.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter and are enjoying the book so far! I apologize for any and all mistakes.
Anyway, until next time, Sayonara!
