Part 34: Weaker The Enemy Becomes; Terry Silver

"This is where the fun shall begin," thought Terry happily to himself as he strutted into the fashionably decorated ballroom.
It was as if the room that stood before him was an empty canvas, waiting for its real artist to craft it into something truly spectacular.
He was dressed in a finely designed black and gold tuxedo, its jeweled silver cuffs only adding to his look of intimidation. All of his most prized students stood only mere inches behind him, fitted in similarly colored attire that represented their individual "personalities," per say.
I'd bet good money that Johnny didn't care about his students' appearances.
A sort of warm feeling crested over Terry's tall body as he saw the surprised expressions cross his enemies' faces. Daniel's look of anger was especially satisfying to see since he tried to hide it so often from his old Sensei.
"Sorry, we arrived so late. Merely had some complications on the way here," joked Terry, cordially.
Several of the adults laughed in appreciation, though very few of the teenagers seemed to have chipper sentiments to the old man's explanation.
There must be a lot of those Miyagi-Do idiots here today, then...
"No worries! So glad you could make it, Terry," stated Yasmine's father, shaking his friend's hand enthusiastically.
Terry nodded back in gratitude for their understanding of his unfortunate situation.
"Shall we continue the party?" suggested Yasmine's mother, gesturing towards the dance floor.
"That would be wonderful," agreed Terry, winking at Daniel knowingly before joining the couple in the party fun.
He had to admit, for a teenage girl's birthday party, the event activities themselves were certainly looking much more interesting than he would've first expected.
The students are probably mingling about so, why not just get a quick bite to eat?
He walked over to the refreshment table, a sort of saunter building in his every step until he reached his desired location. The so-called "punch" smelled awful, though the crab cakes tasted delicious.
These are the real things I've missed from my upstate home, edible food.
"What game are you playing at Silver?" demanded Daniel, his fist clenched angrily as he stormed over to where Terry stood, leaning back against the table coolly.
He very much enjoyed watching Daniel's immediate rage at his appearance because it proved Terry right.
I'm always the one in control of the situation, even if they don't quite know it yet.
"Always admired how quick you were to jump into a fight. True Cobra Kai material," smirked Terry, taking an extra sip of his horrid drink for good measure.
Daniel breathed heavily, the vein on his forehead getting tenser with each second he stared at his enemy.
"Trust me when I say this, I didn't come here for a fight, Danny Boy. I just came here to visit an old friend," stated Terry, folding his hands over one another properly, though both men knew that wasn't true.
Fighting is just in a cobra's nature.
"Yeah, right," spat Johnny sarcastically as he pushed past a crowd of interested teenagers.
They most likely had never seen any of the three men before but merely wanted a more grand show than was currently being provided by their host.
Some say curiosity kills, I say we should let the kids experience the full extent of life without denying them the opportunity of failure. Regardless of how measurable, or in some cases, painful, that failure is.
"Careful, Mr. Lawrence. Wouldn't want to have to break a few more ribs, would you?" retorted Terry, titling his head.
"Like to see you try," stated Johnny, determinedly.
Terry was sure Johnny would've charged him in that very moment if not for Daniel's outstretched arm preventing his attack.
"Yes, you'd know that quite well yourself, Danny Boy," commented Terry, gesturing towards his enemy's bandaged hands.
"Don't give into his games, Johnny," reasoned Daniel, staring into Terry's menacing eyes.
Johnny gritted his teeth, taking a few steps back begrudgingly.
They play so nicely together. Each one weighing the other down like helpless animals clinging to their flawed so-called "friendship."
"Yes, you be a good little pet and stay there, Mr. Lawrence," leered Terry, practically bouncing on the heels of his feet with excitement.
Continuous murmuring could be heard from the surrounding group of onlookers as they whispered to each other.
"I doubt you even know who this family is," commented Johnny, bitterly.
"Maybe not, but better than you, I'm sure," laughed Terry, instinctively taking another drink of the unpleasant red liquid that sloshed around inside his half-empty plastic cup.
I guess the saying is true, old habits die hard.
"And don't you worry, Danny Boy. You'll find out exactly what tonight is about in just a few short minutes," whispered Terry, leaning in close to Daniel's ear before joining the majority of the guests on the dance floor.
