Notes from the Author

Firstly,

I’d just like to thank anyone who is simply taking the time to read this story of mine. All my readers mean the world to me and I’m so lucky to have gotten the opportunity to share this with all of you.

Secondly,

I think it is important to explain why I decided to use an alternative point of view as my perspective in this story since this is not a very common one used throughout books. One of my favorite things about the Miyagi-Verse is the way that all characters throughout the movies and the TV series are shown to be normal people. Not a single character is without flaws because they all make mistakes, just as we all do.

Some of them are cold-hearted soldiers who were trained to be brutal and some are sensitive teenagers just trying to survive high school. But regardless of who they are, we can all find comfort and relatability in at least one of these multi-layered characters that Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg so kindly created for viewers like us.

So I believe that the best way to recreate those feelings of connection is to switch perspectives so everyone can enjoy their favorite character’s journey.

Thirdly,

I have tried my very best to represent all of the show’s wonderful characters onto every one of these pages, but I fully understand if any of you do not agree with some of the actions and or story beats I’ve given the characters. We are all allowed to have our own opinions as to who we think each character is.

Lastly,

I would just like to reiterate my thanks to all the people who have supported me along this journey (especially my brother). Writing this story has not only given me a chance to escape from real life problems, but also, given me a place to grow and explore who I am, as both a writer and a person. This TV show has truly inspired to be a better person and I will forever be grateful for that.

I love all my readers with my entire heart and hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I did writing it.
