Which Film Was Your Favorite?

I know that typically our polls tend to revolve around the TV show, but I thought it would be a fun change of pace of this time we took one about the Karate Kid movies 😁

So, here's our question to answer for the day, which of the three Karate Kid films was your favorite?

(To anyone who hasn't seen all three movies, don't worry! You can just say whatever reason/s you enjoyed the one you did watch :)

Author's Opinion:

I have personally watched all three films (I technically did before the show came out but I've also rewatched them since then because it gave me a deeper appreciation for their legacy) and I have to say that my favorite of the three is definitely the second installment.

Firstly, I really love the way the story explores Mr. Miyagi's backstory and even more so, elaborates on why Daniel is such an important person in his life.

Secondly, I think this film adds a layer of maturity to Daniel. Of course, I enjoyed his humor and heart in the first film, but the second movie allowed him to really show his more supportive and protective sides with Mr. Miyagi and Kumiko.

Which leads me to my next reason for liking the second one best.

Kumiko is by far by favorite of Daniel's three love interests (and even including Amanda, too). She is just such a calm, collected young woman who balances helping others with pursuing her life's passions.

True inspiration in my opinion.

Lastly, I just have to say that I absolutely LOVE just the articulately beautiful atmosphere that comes with the story taking place in Okinawa. It's like I can practically smell the soothing tea Mr. Miyagi brews in his old iron pot as he sits cross-legged in his home.

Sorry that this explanation was a bit longer today, but I hope you all like it :)
