Cobalion's Tower
"Mama, will you tell me the story again?" asked the little girl. Her mother pulled her daughter's pink Munna blanket up to her chin and sat on the edge of the fluffy bed. "Alright, Sarah, but this is the last time, then you have to sleep." Sarah nodded in excitement, snuggling down into the warmth of her bed. "Once upon a time,"
There lived a little girl far far away, in a new place, where Pokemon thrived without the existance of humans. A boat sailed by the shores of the new place, a family in search of prosperity on board with their most precious cargo, their only child. A terrible storm had brewed in the sea, tossing the ship side to side. Boxes of the family's valuables fell into the shallow waters of the shore, splashing about in the grey waters below. Amongst the chaos, the cradle of the child was tossed, sending the baby inside over the edge of the ship. The parent's saw their child falling, and tried to catch her before she fell into the water, but they leaned too far out, and fell in themselves, but never came back up.
While the child fell, a Mantyke was swimming by, on it's way home, when weight suddely crashed upon it's back. Knowing not what to do, the Mantyke kept to the surface of the sea, swimming to a small cave nearby. Inside the dark cave, Zubats and Woobats hung from ceilings and walls, sleeping through the storm. From deep inside the cave, an echoing roar sounded off, shaking the cave walls and sending it's inhabitants scurrying. The little Mantyke leaned against the low ledge of the cave, and Cobalion entered the blue light of the little cave. It saw the little girl laying on the back of the Mantyke, and picked her up by the wet blanket wrapped tightly around her. She cried for a moment, but stopped once she opened her eyes. The mighty Cobalion put her on it's back and re-entered his home.
Now, for many years, Cobalion would take care of the girl during the summer, teaching her attacks. During winter, Terrakion would take her and teach her deffense. In spring, Virizion would teach her speed. For years, that's how she spent her time. Training to survive. In her spare time, she would visit her friends in the forest, where she learned what to use when sick, and what to eat. Pidove taught her how to build warm homes in trees, Petilil taught her how to forage for food, and Sewaddle taught her how to make traps. One early spring day, Virizion woke her up from her dreams. Laying in the middle of Rumination Field, Virizion and her forest friends circled her with sad faces. She asked what was wrong, and Virizion told her of how the humans were camped on the beach, that she had to flee. They had till winter to prepare, and that the Pokemon would fight to protect her as she fled. She fled Rumination Field with Virizion to Cobalion's cave, sharing the awful news of an oncoming of humans. Cobalion, being the first to accept the girl as it's child, was furious. The three ran across the new place to Terrakion, high on the mountain tops and deep within and told it the news. Terrakion agreed with Virizion and Cobalion for fighting the humans.
Terrakion, being the slowest but sturdiest could not show her the way to the tower built by their ancestors. Virizion offered to take the girl, but Cobalion wouldn't have any of it. The girl climbed onto it's back, and off they sped, down the winding paths created by other Pokemon. Cobalion took it's human child to Celestial Tower, climbing to the very top and told her to stay there until the war was over. It dissapeared before she could refuse. Sitting at the top of the Tower, she fashioned a small bell out of the materials she could find, and rang it whenever she heard the roar of Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion, instructing their followers to train and gather whatever they could. Snow started to fall, crowning her hair in white. In the far distance of the southeast, she could see fire blazing it's way deeper into the forest, setting trees ablaze. She shrank in fear away from the edge. Curling up in the blanket made from Sawsbuck's old winter fur, she soon drifted to sleep on top of the lonely Tower.
When she woke up, Cobalion's roar was at the bottom of the Tower, as was Virizion's and Terrakion's, along with numerous other Pokemon's cries. The girl stood up, dropping the white blanket. The glow of fire was advancing from the spiral staircase below, and soon she was faced with rugged humans with torches and swords. The war between humans and Pokemon had come to her. As they advanced, she stepped back. In one final attempt at building a new home, the humans drove the unfamiliar girl off the edge of the Tower, just as Cobalion entered the scene. It caught the scared eyes of his human child as she fell out of his view, tumbling down to Earth. With a heartbroken and furious howl, Cobalion swept the humans off their feet in one blow, breaking their legs and spines. It bounded off the Tower and landed with a thud before the Tower doors, not even meeting the eyes of Virizion nor Terrakion as it ran to the crippled side of it's child. It let out a broken sob, Virizion and Terrakion standing by it's side with sadness.
Cobalion rested it's head on the still chest of it's child, tears streaming down it's face. Virizion rested it's head on Cobalion's shoulder for a moment, grabbing it's attention. Virizion picked up a tiny bell from the ground near the girl's hand, placing it infront of Cobalion. Terrakion chimed from atop the Tower, Musharna beside it. Carrying the bell in it's mouth and the crippled girl on it's back, Cobalion walked the spiral stairs to the top of the Tower, Virizion beside it. Together, Musharna and Cobalion created a larger version of the child's bell, standing it up to ring. Cobalion laid the girl on her back in the center of the Tower top, and walked to the edge. Cobalion south, Virizion southeast, Terrakion southwest. The Pokemon of the new place surrounded the Tower, and as one they cried out to the lost soul of the girl who died. Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion fled from sight, Cobalion's heart turned to steel, while the three burned with hate for the human race.
"Mama, Celestial Tower is a burrial ground for Pokemon, right? She's with her friends." mumbled Sarah sleepily, eyes half closed. Her mother patted her head. "She is, nobody has seen the three Pokemon since the war." implied the mother. "Goodnight mama." mumbled Sarah, curling up into her fluffy blanket.
